bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
BE has done it again!
For awhile, I started to feel like the BE powder was looking a bit dry on my skin, so I was very excited to see they'd be making a liquid foundation, especially after experimenting with some BB creams this past summer.
Upon first putting the foundation on, I was BLOWN AWAY with how quickly it smoothed and covered my skin. I'm absolutely in love with this foundation. the only con for me is that it feels a little bit greasy to the touch. I haven't used mineral veil in the past, but perhaps that could remedy the problem. Otherwise this is the best foundation I've ever used, and I didn't think anythnig could top the BE powder I've used for the past 8 years.
I would give this a million stars!
I have loved bare minerals for years, (love make up in general) many of my staples are BM. When the original mineral foundation came out - I was in love. I have acne prone skin and could never use liquid foundations without horrible breakouts and when I started using the mineral foundation, the break-outs stopped and my skin looked beautiful. Unfortunately in my early to mid 30's it didn't work for me anymore personally - it setttled in fine lines and make my dry skin drier (despite several different adjustments I made to try and make it work. The ready didn't work either as far as dryness was concerned. I searched for a new foundation for a long time - I would say I purchased over 50 products trying to find something. I found a few things that were OK but this foundation is a miracle. I don't see how something so thin can provide such full and beautiful coverage (of course it can be sheer if that is what you prefer) but about six drops gives me full, beautiful coverage without being cakey or looking like I have make-up on. I wore fairly light, and the bare linen is a perfect match. Plus no break-outs, which is unheard of for me with a liquid foundation, but I figured that it wouldn't, being that it was made by bare minerals. Every woman deserves to look and feel beautiful and I thank you for this wonderful foundation.
Feel Naked in Your Own Skin, But with Coverage
I love BE's newest innovation! The product feels very light, but yet I get my full coverage that I always like. I only have to use 4 drops for my whole face and it takes me two min to put on. They have lots of shades to choose from so there is a shade for everyone :) I do have to touch up towards the end of the day because my skin gets oily, BUT I work 12-hour shifts. My oily spots still look okay at the 8-9 hour mark :) If it helps any of you since I have medium skintone I use Bare Beige/08. Great Job BareMinerals for another award winning breakthrough!
I love the idea of this product: a foundation that goes on like a liquid, but still gets applied with a brush and dries to a soft powder feel. The coverage is great and the brush really does help provide for smooth application. My only issue was that I still felt like I was "painting" my face. You could see the lines of the foundation as you were first putting it on - even when following the directions of only 1 to 2 drops on the applicator brush - and they only went away after I put a "top coat" of original foundation on top of it. Maybe it's the person applying the make up, but for me it was just easier to skip this step. I truly love the idea, so maybe it is just me on this.
this is better than any foundation i have used
I love this foundation; it glides on my skin and feels so lightweight. I don't normally wear foundation - it felt like i was wearing nothing at all. my skin was glowing and radiant
The perfect liquid foundation
I have been wearing it daily for a couple of weeks now and I'm loving it. I don't want to be flowery in this review, but really, I find this stuff to be just what my skin needs.
I received this as part of the FAB Ambassador program and when they first announced it, I was a little hesitant. BE has always been true to their mineral powder foundation. How could they change it up and make it work!? And how would people respond...myself included?! I'm a loyal Bare customer, especially to the original foundation (i've been wearing it for 6+ years!) and was nervous to try this new product.
Here's what I've found:
I love that the coverage is very build-able. I like a medium coverage and I've found that 2 or 3 drops usually does the trick. I really like the way the brush too. It buffs the foundation on perfectly. The foundation doesn't sink deep into the brush fibers, which is good so product doesn't go wasted. And it gives a beautiful, smooth application.
The packaging is nice and I've found that it's easy to get the right amount of drops I want each time.
I have a lot of redness in my skin and this foundation really evens out my skin tone.
It lasts all day long, especially if you remember to use your mineral veil!
The big thing: my skin has been really acne prone this past year or so. After a few weeks of using this product, my acne is clearing up. I don't know what's in it, but for the first time in a long time, my skin is looking great without makeup on. My skin seems to be more hydrated, firmer, smoother, more even, and brighter! I've gotten more compliments on my skin lately than I had in a very long time!
I guess when I said I'd never go back I meant it!
I was so honored to be chosen as a FAB Ambassador and equally excited to try this product early. Thank you, Bare Minerals for allowing me to be part of this program! From the time I was a young girl I have always LOVED experimenting with new makeup.
Unfortunately, after trying the Pure Brightening Serum Foundation a few times, I have determined I am and always will be a BareMinerals powder foundation girl. Below are a few pros and cons:
Pros: I love the application brush --- it allows you to apply the foundation very easily. The foundation goes on light and airy and has a weightless feeling.
Cons: I was hoping it would help with my dry skin, but it made it appear more dry and scaly.
I hope BareMinerals continues to provide innovative products. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to participate in the reveal and the build up to the product release. I hope you include me in future product trials.
Said I would never go back to liquid foundation...
The day I was introduced to Bare Minerals over 8 years ago, I swore that I would never ever go back to liquid foundation. Why on earth would I ever put that goopy mess back on my face after experiencing the smooth silkiness that is Bare Minerals? Then I was invited to be a FAB Ambassador and try the new BareSkin Serum Foundation. Since I've been experiencing some dryness and debating adding a BB cream to my regimen, I decided to bite the bullet and take a leap of faith. I should have know that the team at BE would not disappoint! 2-3 drops of this silky formula gives me the medium coverage that I love without feeling heavy or oily. I do find that I have to use primer, as it settles into my fine lines a little more than the powder formula does, but as I have worn the serum formula for a week now and seen the difference in the texture of my skin due to the serum, I don't mind the extra step. I live in Florida, and this liquid holds up to humidity and heat beautifully. I don't do touch-ups during the day and have found this to wear every bit as well on my combination skin as the powder formula does. I am sold on liquid foundation...but only if it's BE! :)
Light application, doesn't feel heavy..........
Love the consistency and feel of this product, easy to blend in too. It lasts for about 5-6 hrs and haven't figured out what to use for touch ups yet as the veil tends to make me look washed out. Would like to get the correct color for my skin tone also. The bottle does tend to be difficult to squeeze but other than that, love the product and how it feels on my skin :)
I tried Bare Minerals for the first time, when this product was aired on QVC special offer. I was informed (by the grape vine) Bare Minerals didn't cater to African American skin types too often. Yet, to my surprise, I was please with the Walnut shade. I gave it 4 stars, cause I use more than the 2 squirts on each side. I use more like 2 layers, I'll purchase Espresso and decide which is better. The jury is still out, after that day darker shades were removed.
