Frame & Define: Brow Styler - null
This product works
I am shocked at how many bad reviews their are on this pencil, maybe it's because BM discontinued the powder and left many customers unsatisfied and having to switch to a new unfamiliar product that can be a little tricky.
I have medium brown eyebrows, and I use the universal light brow pencil. This product works wonders! not only does it fill in my brows for a more fuller effect but the brush on the end of the pencil really gives it that natural look.
How I use it...
1. Take the end of the pencil (this would be the brush part) and brush your eyebrow hairs up. You will be able to see where you need to fill in, take the pencil and roll it up just a little bit (if you roll it up to high it could break). Then go in with LIGHT strokes up, you don't have to fill in every bare gap in your brow because, after you've filled in most of the bottom portion your going to use the brush end again and brush up.
2. You can do the same step with brushing your hairs down as well if you feel like it, I normally don't because I don't like my brows looking to overdone. Now i just brush my hairs out in my natural shape and fill in lightly over the parts that need it, and lastly use the brush again and brush it all out.
tip with the brush...this is going to be the part that really gives your eyebrow the full natural look, it spreads the makeup out better please use the brush !
end result...natural, beautiful brows.!
Hope this helps xoxo =)
Almost didn't buy it because of the reviews
I almost didn't buy the universal light eyebrow styler because of the reviews, but I am glad I did anyways. I have been using the bare minerals eyebrow powder for over a year and liked it, very natural. But I like the pencil better, it is natural looking and I have more control over the shape of my eyebrow. I can get a nice sharp edge at the end of the brow. And it does not make your eyebrows look reddish. Glad I bought it.
Could be 5 stars but...
I originally was using the brow powder like most BE customers and was pretty happy with it. I never used the gel to water proof it- because being someone with hardly any brows, I really didn't want to spend all that extra money on a gel and add ONE MORE step to my already tedious process of getting ready in the morning.
The powder lasted me nearly two years before I stopped using it (I STILL have it, amazing!) But I noticed like most brow fill ins, the powder would wipe off or fade easily.
The pencil however- wow. Gives me the most natural, easy to sketch in and play with finished brow I've ever had. Using the end of the brush along the brow is fantastic to smooth out the product and fool everyone into thinking my brows are all my own.
BUT!!!!!! God forbid you forget to twist it closed and it touches something- snaps off a tiny bit- you've wasted a weeks worth of eye brows- literally! For $15, there isn't enough product in this pencil tube.
I say bring back the powder, continue the pencil, but make give your loyal customers more bang for their buck with the brow styler!

Sad, disappointing but not a total waste
I was sad to hear that the powder was discontinued. I loved the powder. I have to say the pencil is not terrible but it goes a lots faster than the powder did. The pencil breaks easily so you have to be careful when using it to not twist it up too much. I would love to use the powder and the pencil together to define and then fill. Please bring it back!
Really miss the brow powder
When BE came out with the new brow pencils I had some brow powder left and it never occurred to me that they would get rid of the brow powder. So, very happy with my powder, I just ignored the new product and kept using the one I loved. Had I known that the brow powder would be removed from all the boutiques I would have run in and stocked up! The pencil streaks and is gloopy (that's not a real word but I don't know how else to describe it). It doesn't look right. The powder was the PERFECT shade for my coloring. It was honestly one of those products that I never thought about or even worried when I got low, I just picked up another and continued about my day. I miss it, I am sad that BE would discontinue a product people have relied on for years. I understand wanting to expand the line and that there were probably many customers asking for a pencil, but why does it have to be one or the other? Please consider bringing back the powder.
No brow powder?
Very disappointed to find that the brow powder has been discontinued. The brow powder was one of the best around. Brow pencils don't come close. I was also disappointed that my favorite eye liner pencil has been discontinued. I'm reading a lot of reviews about this subject and hope the company goes back to the drawing board and brings back the products we love!
What a disappointment!
I agree with a fellow reviewer about the Brow Powder that after years of searching I too was beyond happy to finally find a something that makes my brow look their most natural. It colored and filled to perfection. I am disappointed with the brow pencil. Please, please consider bringing back the brow powder.
Bring back the powder
I have very light brows and loved the powder, finally found after years of searching for something that looked natural. So disappointed it is discontinued. Will not even consider switching to a pencil. Have not liked a lot of your changes, and am thinking about moving away from Bare Minerals altogether after years of it being my ONLY makeup line.
Not the same
This pencil is not a good replacement for the brow powder! PLEASE put the eyebrow powder back into production. The pencil is difficult to use and the pigmentation is not a great as the powder.
Best brow pencil!
I love this product. I have tried every pencil, powder and gel, and none of them worked on my sparse, wiry brows. This pencil is the best. And the 'universal dark' matches my hair color better than any other brown. Other pencils are either too red or too black.
I really don't understand all of the negative reviews, especially the ones that state they never used the product and never will. It doesn't seem fair to count those in the overall rating.
Really Great Product!!!
I loved the brow powder too, but when I saw this brow pencil I just had to try it and I've never gone back to powder. I just follow Leslie's suggestion to draw light lines - like individual hairs - wherever I need coverage. I find that applying the product in this manner provides a more natural-looking brow - instead of one that is shaped with an eyebrow stencil. I have black brows and I find that the light color blends in better and produces a more natural brow. After spending years and years plucking my eyebrows - and sometimes removing more hairs than I should have - this product covers my mistakes and lets me have the beautiful brows I was aiming for all along.
Missing the Strawberry Honey Blonde powder!
The brow color powder was perfect and natural looking. Especially enjoyed the Strawberry Honey Blonde color.
Using Shadows Instead
I'm giving this 2 stars based on other reviews, and the fact that I have always hated eyebrow pencils. I haven't tried it and don't plan to. When I first started using Bare Minerals years ago, I wasn't using anything on my brows, but during a visit to Sephora I tried the brow powder, and was hooked! Now I go to buy more (it lasted forever), and find Bare Minerals has removed it from their product line. What?!?!?!?!?!?! Im so disappointed. I can only hope that with all the negative reviews of the pencils, and the pleas to bring back the powder, BE will bring them back. In the meantime, I decided to try using some of the dark browns I have in my palettes and collections (7 Ways to Bare). Today, I used Boardroom in the Ready 8.0 Power Neutrals collection, and it's beautiful! I actually like it better than the Auburn brow powder I had been using. So, just in case they don't bring the powders back, and if you're currently looking for something else that you like as well as the brow powders, try eyeshadow! I would think with the range of light to dark colors BE has, blondes to dark haired ladies can find something that works. Good luck!
Bring Back brow POWDER!!! please
The brow powder was prefect-many of my family, close friends and co-workers never even knew I used anything on my brows, because the powder looked natural. This pencil does not.
Plus I have really sensitive skin and never had a problem with allergic reacations with the powder.
Many of the new products I am finding I am allegric to; like the ready foundation, and ready blush and the around the clock eyeliners.
I have been a faithful customer snce 1998 and I am now worried I will need to find a new brand. Before Bare Minerals I had to stop wearing make up all together since Almay and Clinque I still reacted too.
Please do not forget your repeat customers.
BRING BACK THE BROW POWDER!
This is just like every other brow pencil... horrible. Why would you get rid of the brow powder. WHY? It was such a good product. Truly disappointed with Bare Minerals lately...
I love this! A friend of mine introduced me to this. I noticed her eyebrows were always so flawless and asked her what she used. I was a little scared of looking like I used a sharpie on my face but it has worked wonders for me. I have a scar on my eyebrow that prevents hair from growing there and this blends well enough to cover this up. With this pencil you can barely see the naked eyebrow section and it looks natural.
I actually like it...
I bought this my first time in a BE boutique before reading all of these negative reviews. I am blonde and my eyebrows are SUPER light, so I am always looking for new products to make them stand out more. I bought the pencil in taupe about 3 months ago, and I have never had a problem with it breaking, and I have plenty left even after using it every single day for 3 months. I don't think it's a terrible purchase! I only gave it 4 stars because I wish there were more shades available.
Brow Powder/Brush/Gel Were the Perfect Combination
Sad to see that the brow color powder/brush/and gel have been discontinued. I'll do without but will miss the "finishing" touch that the eye brow powder provided. I hate the "penciled in" brow look. The powder worked perfectly and looked natural. Being able to have a dark blonde/medium brown option instead of black was also appreciated. Please bring this line of products back!
Not worth the money
I have not used the previous brow products offered by BE but it sounds what was offered previously was great! I bought this after trying out in the store and actually liked it, especially the brow brush on the one end, but the product only lasted like 3 weeks tops! Very disappointing for the cost. I will go back to using my "drug store" brand eyebrow pencil and just make it work.
Please bring back the Brow Powder!!
The main reason I got bare minerals make-up was for the eye brow kit that came with the brow powder, gel, and brow brush. Now that you don't sell it I have to look at other companies that do. I would prefer to buy all of my make-up products from bare minerals but may have to reconsider since I now have to go to another company for the eye brow powder product. PLEASE BRING THIS BACK AS IT WORKS SOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BROW PENCIL!!!
Bring brow powder back!
This has been my favorite of this whole line, and it's discontinued! I hate brow pencils... I have very blonde eyebrows and the pencils never fill in well. Agree with all other reviews. I am really disappointed. I had to buy one but doubt it will work for me.
BRING BACK THE POWDER !!!
PLEASE BRING BACK OUR EYEBROW POWDER!!!!
If I had only one item in my makeup bag, it would be the eyebrow powder. And, since it's been discontinued, I have been searching the internet for it. I've found it but the prices range from $50 - $62. I refuse to pay that for something that cost so much less when it was available thru Bare Minerals. I'm begging you, Leslie, to please bring back the powder!!
Small amount of product, broke easily
I went in to get a new brow setting gel, but apparently it has been discontinued. This was the other option.
The sales person in the store and the pencil itself both said to turn it one turn, but it broke on me even if I just turned it half a turn. I would recommend using this product at a 90 degree angle from your face rather than the 45 the sales person advised.
This pencil only lasted me 11 days. That's ridiculous.
Since I ran out, I have gone back to the powder, brow brush, and scraping the bottom of my setting gel. The old system worked SO much better! Please bring it back!
BRING BACK MY POWDER
Ok- I've tried this new brow pencil and as I expected- it's a disappointment. I agree with most of the negative reviews- I have used your products for years and love most but this is not good. Please give us our powder back!!!
Do not waste your money
So disappointed in this pencil......hardly any brow color in the liner.......I think I used it for 3 weeks and it was gone! The lead is super skinny and you have to expose only a tiny tip or it breaks off. SO not worth the money!
Bring back the powder and finishing gel!
Why in the world did you discontinue the brow powder and finishing gel? It appears that what the customers want is not important. Nothing works as good as the brow powder, and the finishing gel holds unruly brows in place so perfectly.
haven't even tried this product yet...just bought it today when i found out the powder was discontinued...so very sad as that was my MUST HAVE product FOR YEARS and based on the other reviews if i loved the powder like i did i won't like the new pencil very much...as is the concensus with most other reviews...PLEASE BRING BACK THE POWDER!!!!!!!!!!
Great liner but expensive for the amount in it
I think the product itself uses real well on my brows, especially if used the right way. I look like a walking model. However, the product only lasts me about 2 and 1.2 weeks. I was a little dissapointed because it ran out halfway through my trip to Vegas. :( I hope that Bare Minerals will at least add more product into their pencil.
Best as combo with powder
Looking forward to trying pencil, but I agree that BE needs to bring back the brow powder! Ash Blonde was my shade, and with overwaxing of brows, the pencil to line out brows & powder to finish and define brows naturally is a great combination that BE should consider marketing as a duo.
