bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Flawless and Natural
I love the bareskin foundation! It has excellent buildable coverage and buffs on flawlessly. I received compliments on it and comments on how it looked so natural and not cakey at all like other foundations. It's also a plus that it comes in so many shades to get a perfect match. I've tried all the bareminerals foubdations and this has still got to be my favorite.
The container is horrible! Every time I open my product the make up comes spewing out of the top and I have wasted more than I have used. On top of this Bare Minerals stresses the importance of shaking and mixing the product prior to use as it separated, which is virtually impossible when I open the container and the top layer of the product is always lost, so therefore I have never been able to experience the use of the entire product combined.
I got this foundation when I got my makeup done for prom and I LOVED it. Although a bit pricey it is worth every penny. I also purchased this product with the foundation brush which is amazing as well. I can't imagine myself finishing this foundation anytime soon and iIwear it about 5 days a week. Will definitely be buying this product again.
Switched from BE powder foundation & happy I did
I've been using BE's powder foundation for several years, particularly to control oil. As my skin care regimen and health have changed (both for the better), I noticed the powder foundation was starting to sit differently, and was way too light for my new skin tone - so I decided to try the liquid serum foundation in a shade darker than my previous.
I'm glad I switched! The color is perfect and coverage is great - it covers my pores better than the foundation, particularly in problem spots like the side of my nose, where I was having to buff in the powder to get proper coverage. The finish is lovely and feels weightless. I still have to start with spot coverage treatment for any blemishes, but that was the case with the powder foundation as well. The serum looks much more natural and "not even there" than the powder foundation has looked on me for a while.
I noticed a faint odor during application which vanished quickly, but nothing terribly offensive or even strong - it just smells like liquid foundation makeup. If there's one out there that smells like flowers and still works well, let me know, I've never run into it.
Other reviews warning about the packaging are probably true - I'm not planning on testing it, and I'm storing it upright - but will try and plug up the bottle before travelling to make sure.
I bit the bullet and also got the matching brush - HIGHLY recommended, I think it really made a huge difference in how smoothly and evenly it applied with a minimum of effort.
I like the product, but hate the packaging so much. Probably the worst packaging I have ever experienced in a foundation. Leaks everywhere, after using it and trying to put the cap back on, product will leak out the sides and gets all over my makeup bag. I do like the product, but it's not worth the mess. Wish I could get my money back.
Sorry I switched...waste of money
I am a longtime Bare Minerals powder user. I've always liked it a lot. I have sensitive skin, and it seems to be the only thing that I can wear. Over the years my skin has been getting drier and the powder just wasn't setting like it used to. Several people (and the reviews on this site) told me to try the BareSkin liquid as it is better for dry skin.
I was shade matched at a store, and I bought Bare Beige and the brush. BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER!!!
First, I have a lot of redness in my skin (which I told the person at the store), and this does absolutely NOTHING to cover it.
Second, It is a horrible yellowy-orange color on, and it looks terrible. It looks like a bad spray tan.
Third, It sits on top of my skin. It doesn't look cake exactly, but it definitely does not naturally blend the way the powder used to for me.
I am completely disappointed! I wish I could just get my money back, or at least try a different product. I hate to move away from Bare Minerals, but it looks like that's what I am going to have to do.
This is a great product; however, I found that it sat in my pores - I have a very oily nose area and chin - and looked like tiny dots on my nose and chin! I just loved it so much, though, as it's helped the clarity of my skin and looks so much more natural than many foundations. Now what I do is use it on my whole face, as normal, and then stipple the mineral powder foundation on my nose, the surrounding area - helps with redness, too - and my chin. Works like a charm. It doesn't have to be BM brand, but it does tend to work best for me. Also, for those of you who find this hard to blend, always use a primer first, and always always always load up the brush, gently spread strokes lightly on lots of different areas of the face, then blend from there. A good magnifying mirror helps, too. I've got this down to a 3-minute process now, and I'm thrilled with the result.
Great product, bad bottle design
Hi everyone, I love everything about this product. I just recently purchased my second bottle. I actually ordered my first one and it came with the applicator brush. The shade wasn't right for me so I handed it down to my sister and bought a new shade. I, however, kept the brush and use it with the foundation every time. I use about 2-3 drops of the foundation and use the brush to swirl it around my face until I have even coverage. Usually 2 drops is plenty. I love the coverage I receive when using this product, if I have a zit, my face is always red in the area and this product with cover it up. My only concern with this product is the container that it comes in. I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue but I have to leave the bottle standing up because it will leak. There seems to be no stopper in the lid to keep the product in the bottle when shut. Therefore it is a very messy product, and I feel that I have a lot of waste. I wish they would fix this issue.
Love this product! Used to use the powder, but I wanted a liquid as it blends better. Several times while I was wearing this product I've had compliments such as "Your skin is so naturally beautiful!" (Little did they know I was wearing makeup!). It really does not look cakey, looks natural and always gives me a glow! Definitely recommend this. But make sure to shake it before applying!!! The serum separates from the color in the container and what looks like oil will come out if you don't shake it.
LOVE THIS PRODUCT
I am 64 years old African American woman with aging sensitive skin. Love this product goes on very well. I have some rosacea issues and this product covers the redness quite well without irritation. I am on my second bottle and will purchase a third. Cost effective, I use daily and this foundation last approximately 3 1/2 to 4 months, depending on the coverage you desire. The color matches my skin tone perfectly bare tan 13.
I don't notice a smell as some reviewers indicated. There is a learning curve as well. The trick is to shake the bottle very well, keep in a cooler place and store up right in your cosmetic storage container or you will waste foundation especially towards the ending of the product as the foundation will ooze out rapidly
Good product, terrible bottle design
I love this foundation. It goes on great, has great coverage and is easy to use. BUT I waste A LOT! When I tip the bottle to put a drop or 2 on the brush, I get 3, 4, 5, or more. Even when I tip the bottle back over, foundation keeps coming out. I would not recommend this until the bottle is redesigned.
I bought this product as a recommendation from a friend. I was frustrated with my previous foundation because it did not look natural in daylight. I have redness and need full coverage. It covers all my redness and looks natural at same time. I also love the applicator.
the only thing I STRONGLY dislike about this product is the smell. I'm not sure if my bottle was defective or what but the scent is nauseating. I can't wait to take it off at night because it makes me feel so sick throughout the day. I like the coverage and the way it feels on the skin.
It has better coverage than the powder. I am 38yr. old and have some age spots it covers them completely. I bought this a couple years ago and it did smell funny. I decided to try it again, and its been improved no smell and less greasy.
Terrible bottle design
I have used Bare Minerals for years and love most products. However, I think this is hard to blend evenly. The major problem and the reason I will not buy it again is the bottle. The foundation gets all over the bottle, never messy and wastes a lot. Please res
miracle in a bottle!
let me start by saying I am 25 years old and I have severe oily skin I would get big oily bumps on my face very very very aggravating. it would take at least two weeks for the oil pump to go away with another one following it .I have tried so many products and nothing has worked I have very sensitive skin, i always give a product 2 weeks to see if it would work for me even if my face breaks out and still have not found anything until now. every time I try something new my face freaks out. I am so thankful that I have tried this product because my face has changed dramatically. I always wondered about bare minerals but was never able to afford it, but I recently i purchased this product, mineralexer, and the matte powder. I am so happy! I couldn't be any more happier with this product. my face hasn't broke out since I've tried it which is unusual because my face breaks out everytime I use something different. my pores are literally, I mean literally smaller almost to where I can not see them. thank you so much for this product I will never stop using it so please never stop making it. for all the women out there who are skeptical about trying this product do yourself a favor and order it. I never knew what type of skin tone I had until I looked up how to figure out what skin tone i am. (I'm a cool tone). SO i got Bare satin, and it's a perfect match which is also unusual. I would always have to mix different shades to get as close to my skin tone as possible. now i do not have to do that. I wished we could post before and after pics.. if we can tell me how to do so and i will. I am thrilled. We all have different sensitivity what works on one person won't work for the other. I feel that this was made just for me and my sensitive skin.. you have got to try this.. it's a miracle in a bottle..
Natural looking medium coverage
After using Bare Minerals Matte Foundation, I tried this hoping for better and more natural looking coverage. I have uneven skin tone, redness around my nose and mouth, light freckles, and acne scars. Although it does look very natural, the coverage is okay but it isn't quite what I was hoping for. They say you can build coverage, but I've found that it only adds more color, not coverage so then the color match was wrong. It leaves a sticky shiny sheen but that's remedied by setting it with Tarte Smooth Operator Clay Finishing Powder. I'll keep using this but I'll be looking for a concealer that works well with it.
I love Bare Escentuals and have used the powder for years. I was looking forward to the liquid, but ended up throwing it away! The smell was awful...it was greasy (no matter how little I used)...and my skin began to breakout (never had breakouts when young)!!!
I was looking forward to using this product vs. powder but it didn't give me the coverage I need. I have a very fair complexion with "spider veins" all over my cheeks an the liquid did not provide enough density to cover them adequately.
The powdered minerals foundation smooths on and stays on, giving this old face a smooth matte look all day with no flaking or settling in the creases. I brush it on in the morning and never worry about touch-ups as I go about my day. Light and airy, never feels caked or heavy. Love it!
Brightening Serum Foundation
I have been using bare Minerals for several years. I use to have oily skin as I have gotten older it has become less oily and I find this product nicer on my skin. It is more youthful looking. Thank you Leslie
I absolutely love this product. It blends flawlessly and you don't have to use much product. The best part about it is that you feel like you're not wearing makeup at all. It gives me a very natural look. I have oily combo skin, and it doesn't look greasy by the end of the day. I could actually tell my skin was improving after using this for a couple of months. I got a shade too dark, but it doesn't look orange or unnatural at all. It blends perfectly.
Love this foundation
I really love the coverage and the feel of this foundation but the packaging creates a big mess and a lot of wasted product :(
Makes my skin look flawless, but smells bad
Its a toss up with this product. I bought it at a Bare Minerals boutique, and i follow the instructions on how to apply. It goes on smoothly and the coverage is beautiful. I let it set for a few minutes before applying the rest of my makeup. However, I can't stand the smell. It last all day and is unpleasant. Going to finish my bottle, not sure if i'll buy again.
Love this foundation, but..........
I really love the way this foundation looks! My only problem is that this does cause me to break out. I wasn't 100% sure at first but then I ran out and had to wait a little while for my new bottle to come in. During that time I went back to the original powder foundation and never had a break out. I decided to use that for two weeks, then tried the bareSkin foundation again. I broke out fairly quickly after using it. It's unfortunate because I really do love bareSkin and the way it looks but I just can't take the break out's.
Love this product! It is a nice change especially when my face is feeling like a bit more hydration is needed. My personal technique for application is to place 2 drops on the brush, make a giant "3" on the right side of my face from mid forehead, around/across cheek to mid nose, then down and around to mid chin. I then buff this side to the desired coverage. Add 2 more drops to the brush, then trace a "backwards 3" on the left side...buff and blend. This really makes for a nice, smoothly applied look.
Love it, but it gives me acne
I was so excited when I saw that Bare Minerals came out with a liquid foundation. I have dry, sensitive skin and even with a moisturizer my skin feels dry using the powder foundation. When I first tried this product I LOVED it. But then after a few days I noticed that I was breaking out in acne all over my face. I've never had acne before, even when I was a teenager. So to suddenly get it in my 40's is very strange! I know it's not hormonal b/c when I stop using this product it went away. I am very bummed, and hope that if others are experiencing this too that they will also let the company know. Hopefully they will then reformulate for those of us with sensitive skin.
bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20
This is a wonderful product. It really covers the dark circles under my eyes and helps even out my skin tone. Love It.
They really have done it again!
I have been a BE fan and user for years and years and have loved the powder because I have oily skin. After years of trying different "high quality" brands of liquid foundation, I had pretty much given up that there was ever going to be a foundation that looked good on me all day. After I found the BE powders, I fell in love and never looked back. When this serum foundation came out, I was highly skeptical. because the whole foundation of BE (no pun intended) was in their award-winning powder foundations. But who doesn't want a little more coverage? I again was skeptical because of the iffy reviews. I took the plunge a couple weeks ago and I couldn't believe how amazing it is! A liquid foundation that covers all imperfections and STILL LOOKS LIKE BARE SKIN!!!! The applicator brush worked fine for me. The only complaint is the same one echoed over and over about the bottle oozing after being shaken up. Please redesign this bottle and all will be well!!!
I've been using Bare Minerals powder foundation for years. I was ready for a change because the powder seems to float all over when tapping. I was excited when the Brightening Serum foundation came out. I purchased a bottle. I loved the coverage. However, I couldn't stand the smell. I decided to try another shade thinking maybe it was that bottle. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I couldn't use either bottles because of the scent. From my experience the smell never improved. I wanted to love it but I just couldn't. I am hoping they make improvements.
