bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Great liquid foundation!
I have very dry skin so the one thing I always disliked about BE is the fact that it was all powder and made me feel drier. I love the idea of a liquid, particularly this lightweight of one. It is easy to use, covers beautifully, but my only reservation with this is that I don't feel it stays. It rubs off easily and was all over my sunglass rims/nose piece. Given I'm dry, I still used primer so maybe I shouldn't use the extra liquid of that and go with this on bare skin. I am going to try that next as others seem to think it lasts whereas mine is amazing first thing in the morning but I actually get oily or wet looking later in the day and have it rub off.
I am the pickiest person when it comes to foundation--I have tried, and returned, everything, and am constantly searching for the perfect fit. I have true combination skin, more on the oily side, and am very prone to breakouts/redness from sensitivity.
I pre-ordered this from QVC after seeing some great reviews on social media. I am truly blown away. Not only does this provide excellent, build-able coverage, but it stays ALL DAY. Nothing stays on my oily skin, but somehow this seems to seep up my extra oil through my t-zone while leaving my skin looking fresh, glowy, and seemingly makeup free. If you have DRY skin, I would still recommend this product, but you must moisturizer before.
My acne is better, my redness is tamed, and I am finally happy. This product + brush is a true game changer. Thank you BE for providing a safe, outstanding foundation that I can use (and LOVE) every day!
May be for you, it wasn't for me!
I was part of the group blessed to be able to try this early. I LOVE MY BE, and wanted to share that before my review of this product.
The product is very drying, settles into fine lines and wrinkles, and the side of my nose, a very odd thing. It even made me look like I had wrinkles that I don't have, especially after wearing it for a couple of days, because not only did it appear dry and cakey (more drying of the skin than a cakey finish, so it's a little hard to explain), but, it actually was drying my skin out while it was on, so that every day my skin was drier than the day before. I want to make sure and say, these results were with the best possible skin care, and that, frankly, saved my skin during use, and will help it recover. Even as I write this review, I have pimples forming/showing, and my skin is now overproducing oil to compensate from use of the Bare Skin liquid foundation.
It also does not cover well, and I don't have that much to cover. One tiny area that's a little red, just looked more pronounced and that doesn't happen with my Bare Minerals Original Foundation.
The good news. This is a truly innovative product and formulation (I do not work for the company, I just analyzed it a lot, because I really wanted to like it).
The Bare Minerals Perfecting Face Brush (sold separately) is necessary! It is amazing, synthetic bristles, and shake (shake well), drop and buffing the foundation on, is a dream application. There is nothing else like it in foundation.
If you're going to order this online, trust me, go by the descriptions of each shade more so than the color photos. I tried two. Bare Cream (05) which is for the most golden light skin, and it is!!! It is VERY golden/yellow!!! The second one I tried was a much better match for me, Bare Linen (03), the "neutral" of the light family. Even the Bare Linen skews a little yellow. It's not your average neutral, at all. So when in doubt with shade matching, if you are a cool tone, don't go for Neutral. I could have easily also probably worn Bare Shell (02) the only "cool" tone in the light category of shades.
Another bonus, and a major thumbs up on the formulation is that the SPF 20 (and the product) are truly "weightless." A lot of products say that, but they're not. We've all tried moisturizers and other products with SPF, I have, one that's from a great company that also has an SPF that is also a physical block and natural. I could "feel" that product on my skin, and sometimes, no matter how hard a company tries, any moisturizer with SPF will also have a kind of smell to it as well.
Bare Minerals, Bare Skin Liquid Serum Foundation, is truly weightless, fragrance free, even with the SPF you can't "feel" it, but it has to be a good match for your skin. For me, that means not at all even the slightest bit dry, combination or sensitive. But if you have skin like mine, that is great with other products from BE, the only way you'll know if this works for you, is to try it first. I suggest going to a boutique (if you can), I though I haven't had one done, get a "Make Under." That way you can wear the product for a day and see if it works for you.
I will continue to use my Bare Mineral Original Foundation, and many other products from BE!
Peace and Beauty!
Nice foundation but not enough coverage for me
I've worn the Original and Ready foundation for years and was excited to try the new liquid foundation. I wear Fair in the original foundation and Fairly Medium in Ready. I wound up being Bare Shell 02 in this new liquid foundation and the color is just right. The brush is very nice and works well to get an even coverage. It really goes on smoothly and looks very natural. Unfortunately for me, I need more coverage than this provides. I ran out of the correcting concealer so I just ordered a new one so I can try it with the liquid foundation. I would definitely recommend this for those ladies who want a natural look or those who love liquid foundation.
I love this, seriously.
I couldn't wait for this to be available on BE so I did order early off QVC ...
Background: I go back and forth between the Ready foundation and a high end BB cream. I like the feel of the powder, but old habits die hard and I love the look of a cream foundation plus the skin care benefits. So when I heard BE was doing a liquid, I had to try it. I am not disappointed....
I love that you can use a few drops and the application brush perfectly to buff this on to your skin. It's very easy to control the application as well as how much goes where, unlike a typical foundation brush. It really does feel like a lightweight serum in texture. I forgot I was wearing it more than a couple times.
Since it is so new I cannot speak to the long term skin benefits, but it's very easy to use and looks very natural on. I have been following it with the mineral veil and AOFC/Radiance powders to achieve that perfect satin finish look.
The only qualms I have so far are that I am Fairly Light in regular foundation, nearly a Medium in the Ready, and I ordered Bare Linen in the serum foundation and it's not a perfect match.... It is an ok match, I could probably go a shade darker, but without being able to get shade matched I took a shot.
Also I am oily T-zone so I do get a bit shiny after a couple hours, but that happens with every foundation I use, it's not just this one. I was just hoping that maybe it wouldn't for some miraculous reason.
So since I can't speak about the long term benefits plus my oily t-zone I did ding it a star, just can't give it full on 5 stars on blind faith alone....
All in all I am very happy and will probably choose this over the Ready and my BB cream for future use
* if you wait til the boutiques get this I would say you should get shade matched. I think what is recommended based off the color guilde-line pictures (QVC) might be slightly off a bit as my shade I bought is a bit too light.
BE, you nailed it with this product!!!
I am a long-time BE mineral foundation user, and I am totally in love with this new product. I wear Medium Beige in the original, and I wear Bare Beige in this product. I love the powdered foundation, and the last time I wore liquid foundation was when I was playing dress-up with my mom's make-up 20 years ago. I was very skeptical about this product, but I am sold!
My skin has several dark spots and acne flaws. After having my son, my complexion just does not look the same. This product gives the appearance of a smooth complexion in just seconds and I look years younger. I am only 30, but now my skin has a seamless look. It also helps cover the dark circles I have from lack of proper sleep =)
I was not sure how I would feel about "painting" liquid foundation on with a brush, but I love it! I am able to get the heavier coverage I need with only 4 drops.
The product stays on very well, as I wear it to the gym and it does not come off.
I am totally sold on this product! You have GOTTA try it =)
Coming from no liquid...
I am 67. I have fabulous skin. However, I also have sensitive skin. So, Bare mInerals has been great for me. I also use Body Shop Foundation that uses Olive oil, which is wonderful. However, this time, the liquid is so light, feels so good and looked so natural, I just added blush and eye makeup and I was done. I also feel that his foundation is part of the skin care promise Bare Minerals is commited to. Color: If it is too light, use all over color. But, better too light than too dark. And, this is supposed to be brightening. It delivers what it promises and more...
Nice To Have Another Option ♥
Just received the new BareSkin Foundation and couldn't wait to try it! Once you apply this foundation it truly feels like you aren't wearing a thing on your face. The coverage is nice and lightweight...I didn't do my whole routine since I was so excited to try it, so I just washed my face and applied right after on my clean skin. It looked great even without using a primer, but I think I will try it with a primer too just to see what the difference might be if any. I will also use my concealer beforehand since I skipped that step too. But overall, I think it's a great foundation! I wear Medium Beige in the Ready Foundation so I got Bare Natural in the BareSkin Foundation because I fall on the lighter side of medium and it seemed to be a pretty good match for me. :-) One more thing, a little goes a long way, so be sure to use it just like Jessica shows you in the video presentations on the Q...just start with 2 drops in the reservoir and apply to one whole side of your face, if you think you need more then just add 2 more drops at a time. The brush is fantastic at applying this foundation!
Looking forward to trying it out more in the coming days! :-)
This new bareSkin foundation has blown my mind. Bare Minerals has done it again and created a product that speaks for the people. The foundation goes on easily with the awesome brush, not to mention the amount of foundation used for each application is very minimal. I feel that bareSkin foundation creates a hassle free environment because you are not dealing with the powder foundation. (Don't get me wrong, I still lvd the powder foundation as well, I just love bareSkin more!!!)
I love the fact that bareSkin foundation sticks to the bare minerals modo of less if more. I don't even feel like I am wearing foundation. This product ROCKS!!!
This product is a must buy ladies and gents ;)
Nice...but in my case the jury still out.
I'm very grateful to have been chosen to receive this product before release; however, I am still iffy on product.
I have mild rosacea and I don't know if its a coincidence or not but, the skin on my nose and on one of my cheeks has been irritated - red and peeling on the sides of my nose and little bumps on the side of my check. Plus my pores on my nose appear larger, than normal.
Maybe I receive a color that was too light, I am need almost double the amount of the recommended drops and the foundation still doesn't cover the redness, especially on my nose.
I'm so disappointed, I really want to love this product. The other BE foundations (original & ready) cover everything w/out using primer.
This weekend, I'll be heading over the BE store to see if they can give me any additional tips on applying.
But, I'm beginning to think I'm allergic to this new formula. So sad...
If skin issues improve I'll come back an let everyone know.
