bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
I have pretty bad acne and i've been trying to find something for years that would make my skin look clear and flawless. Years and years after trying a LOT of different foundations, i decided to give bareSkin a try and totally fell in love with it!! my skin looks amazing all day and it doesn't wear off like most foundations do. Will continue to use this brand for the rest of my life lol
I have been using Bare Minerals for quite some time now and have loved everything I tired until this product. The first thing I noticed was the TERRIBLE smell!!! I thought I would be able to get over it......but I have not! I have also noticed my face breaking out more than ever before in my life. This product is the only thing that has changed at all in my skin care routine. The third thing is the design of the bottle. No matter how tight you put the top on the bottle leaks (maybe mine is defective?) but it wastes a ton of product not to mention makes a terrible mess. Overall I feel like between buying the brush and this product it was a big waste of money! Im really disappointed.
Wonderful foundation with a learning curve
I really enjoy this foundation and just like the original powder foundation, there is a learning curve to using this. It took some time to get used to, but with practice I think it's a great product. Yes, it does feel a little oily by itself, but with the Perfecting Mineral Veil it sets to a fresh and long-lasting natural even base. It evens out my skin and stays all day, even through work. It doesn't settle into fine lines, cause breakouts or leave a line, and it blends very well. I wear the Bare Linen and use 4-5 drops. I would recommend bareSkin, it just takes some getting used to!
Great Product / Terrible Dispenser
I have used and loved Bare Minerals Original Foundation for years. I wanted something a bit lighter. I don't know who could ever use a single drop to "lightly" cover their entire face as I need quite a few shakes of the bottle to get even coverage. I love the feel of it; light, silky and blends well using the special brush and fingertips. It has a pleasant dewy finish when topped off with Mineral Veil. To me it smells like make up not perfume, and the scent doesn't bother me.
I HATE the bottle. It's hard, colored plastic so: 1.) I can't see how much I have 2.) makes shaking it out difficult and very messy, and 3.) it randomly oozes a lot of product. I've already lost days worth of makeup having it randomly belch out big gobs of fluid that I have to wipe off and toss.
I will continue to use and purchase this. I don't understand why they would spend so much time and money formulating a great product then put it in a stupid, dysfunctional bottle.
Okay, So i was off the bare minerals market for a while...until they came out with this liquid foundation...I honestly have nothing but positive reviews on this product. I did have issues with it leaking out of the cap at the top while I shook it until a quick fix I took the cap off and put my finger over the hole and shook. At first I put it on and was like whoa this is too yellow for me..but then gave it a couple of mins as it settled on my face went to dinner and came home and it was perfectly matched still. The key for flawless look for me is to make sure that the bottle is shook up for about one min really well and that my face is well moisturized and primed with primer. Note that this product if not shaken up well it wont provide that flawless look so pay attention to the shake well part on the back of the bottle I know from personal experience when i shook it up half way and put it on it looked very dry and i didn't use enough moisturizer and primer..I am number 12 and my tan is starting to fade but i feel when i put it on its color blends well with my skin...I do warn you if you like a matte finish this probably isn't the thing for you as it gives you that satin/natural look which I love during the colder months this makes you look more healthy and alive. I have had ZERO issues with breakouts with using this if anything it has helped my skin along with the combination of using Proactiv Plus
I usually love anything from Bare Minerals, but after receiving a sample of this foundation, I was disappointed. I found that after shaking the bottle it came out watery with bubbles of color. When I did get foundation, after wearing it on my normal skin I found that it made it look greasy and oily with only a few hours after application. I will not be purchasing this product to say the least.
Serum Foundation and New brush
Personally I love the serum/liquid foundation as well as the new brush to add a drop or two if needed. Very light weight on the face as one does not have any foundation on. That is how it feels on my face. I use the product and brush as the information states in a circular motion and what else can I say except this product is liquid GOLD!!!!! Oh yes Bare Minerals, can you add an olive skin tone for us Italians? Thanks for the consideration.
Finally, a liquid foundation
I used to use the Bare Minerals powder foundation but my skin is so dry i couldn't use it in the winter, i love the liquid foundation and i have not noticed a smell like everyone else talks about.
So surprisingly disappointed.
I'm a believer in Bare minerals. Only wear their make up and use their skin care. But, this foundation is just awful. Looks terrible, feels terrible, smells terrible. Back to the drawing board with this one folks. Very expensive waste of money...when you buy the brush as well...have tried many things to try to make it work...nothing but awful!!,
Worst foundation ever
I bought this and it went on well and looked good for a couple of hours and then my face broke out and I looked like a Halloween character. That, coupled with the smell has made me annoyed I even tried it. I went yo the closest store which is 2hours away to try it and get a consult so I am very disappointed. I used it one more time thinking maybe it was just a bad day, but it was just as awful and not like anything I have had from BM before. Do not buy this product.
Good product - Terrible lid
I like this foundation. The coverage is light and goes on smooth, but it does need some powder or mineral veil to prevent greasiness. My biggest issue with this product is the lid, however. I have had two bottles, and no matter how tightly I put on the lid, the makeup leaks on the inside and makes a mess. Not to mention that I'm losing a ton of product for gunk seeping into the lid and all over the top of the bottle. I won't buy again for that reason, unless/until they fix it.
Overall I Like It
I finally made the transition to BM foundation after they released the liquid foundation. It provides a really good, light coverage. I prefer more of a matte finish which is why I did not give it 5 stars. The liquid itself is really light, so in areas where you need more coverage it is hard to obtain.
My husband refused to kiss me
I have been using the mineral foundation and other bare minerals products for years. I decided to get color matched for the liquid foundation. First, I loved the way the liquid foundation went on, and I thought the brush worked well. Also, I liked the coverage and ease of use. However, the makeup smelled so bad that my husband couldn't stand me wearing it. He even refused to kiss me until I removed the makeup. He complained about it every single day until the bottle was empty and told me to never buy anything that stinky again. If you can get the smell to go away, I will buy it again. I know that sometimes natural ingredients don't always smell great because you aren't using chemicals to cover them up. Maybe that's it...
Terrible smell, hard to apply a foundation that may be one of the best BUT awful smell..
Not a Fan.
The foundation is great at first, for like 5 minutes. When putting powder on after the foundation, about 10 minutes later my whole face looked patchy like I had excessively dry skin, which is not the case at all because in addition to the cakey, dry look it made my skin SO OILY. I've had the foundation for a week and it has caused me to break out like crazy. I originally came to this website to look up the product and confirm that there is oil in it, which it says there is not. Hard to believe. If you touch your face AT ALL, even just to pull your hair back the make up gets EVERYWHERE. I've tried wearing the foundation alone and also with powder; it does not make a difference. It's horribly oily, too liquified and too messy. I've gone through quite a few oil sheets throughout the day. I have continued to try to wear it because it's not cheap and I need foundation but I went ahead & bought the original powder foundation and also bought another more expensive brand's liquid foundation instead, which I know works because I cannot continue to use this. I'll stick to the original powder foundations and eye shadows from this brand from now on. The image I've posted is of the oil sheets I've used today with absolutely no other makeup on (not even eye shadow or mascara) except the foundation.
make up druggie
I have been using drug store make up since I started using make up, and could never find the "right" make up. They were either too pink, too heavy, made my skin look even more dry or too everything! Then one day my girlfriends mom came home with this product, and since I am a make up junkie, I just had to try it. After that first time use I was hooked! I would get complimented left and right about how porcelain my skin looked and how flawless my make up was. I am addicted! It feels like I have nothing on my face and for days that I do need that extra coverage, I just apply a little extra and it doesn't look cakey. Even though they're a bit more pricier then drug store, this product is worth every penny and actually lasts!
bareescentuals liquid founation
im not sure i like the new liquid i have used the mineral makeup for over 10 years and will not change it . i have combination skin and this just works for me and if i buff it just right it keeps from clinging to my clothes and everything i own. i recently tried the foundation liquid but it does have an odor that isnt pleasant and it makes my skin more oily the color isnt quite right for me i have been fold to send it back but it cost more than i want to spend since i wont be ordering it again ill keep it so i will stick with my mineral makeup and happy to get it thank you ....ps btw i didnt get my birthday gift yet and my birthday was sept 28 1954 thanks
This ended up being the perfect product for me.
*more natural than other brands
I love the concept of a makeup that heals your skin while offering the much desired coverage that we women want. This foundation legitimately buffs away flaws with the brush, and allows you to control just how much coverage you want.
One complaint is that it can smell "off" at times. My partner approached me and asked me what the smell was. Not very pleasant, but not always noticeable.
Not for me
This is a bummer because I was so excited to try this foundation. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it because of all the great reviews. Nope, not for me. This stuff looks great for 5 minutes then begins to separate, get oily, patchy, and rubs off if touched at all. I tried to set it with a powder only to discover it looking like a mask and adding 10 yrs to my appearance. I use the original foundation and have for about 4 yrs and am pretty happy with it. I thought I'd try a liquid thinking it would make my skin look younger and this was not the case, pretty much the opposite. I'll be sticking to the original which always works for me.
It feels great on my face!!!
I love the way it feels and looks on my face, however, the smell is very strong and unpleasant. My boyfriend can smell it every time I put it on. I will keep wearing it though. Please fix the aroma!!! :) Otherwise, it is amazing!!!!
I'm really liking this foundation and love that it has SPF in it BUT do not wear if you are going to take closeup pics with flash! It looked like my foundation didn't match my neck at all!! So glad I test makeup on my off days! Also, I've read that the brush isn't necessary to go along with the foundation so I bought a Real Techniques brush (The Expert Face Brush) for a 1/3 of the price and am really glad I did!
I loved it but.....
I tried the new BareSkin liquid foundation. I was skeptical of using a brush to apply liquid foundation but I thought I would try it. I absolutely loved the way it blended with my skin and how simple it was to apply. I loved the way it felt on my skin as well. HOWEVER, upon my first day to wear it my husband and my daughter on two separate occasions commented that my skin looked "weird". I am a devout Bare Minerals user and have been for years. They had no clue I had switched foundation but they both commented (separately mind you) that more pores looked bigger and my wrinkles were more defined. I tried one more time to wear it asking a friend what she thought and she said the same thing. So, it's back to my old mineral foundation. I am sad to have wasted the money, but I am so glad I tried it. Perhaps I am just too old or my skin is too abnormal for this product.
My Skin Shines Through
I was worried with trying liquid foundation because I'm afraid it'll be too heavy for my skin and make me look older. I absolutely love all the other foundations and haven't used liquid since my Bare Minerals conversion.
This changed my mind completely! No matter how much I put on my face it feels like nothing is there. It wears so nicely all day, and after 3 - 4 uses I can tell a significant improvement in my skin! The tone is evening out already! I do have to say, though, that there are 3 essentials when using this make-up:
1. The brush is specifically designed for this and makes putting on the liquid foundation even and seamless.
2. Eye Brightening concealer stick. This helps hide my dark circles and doesn't get cakey under this foundation.
3. Bare Skin mineral veil is also specifically designed for this foundation. I've used regular mineral veil, and it did just fine; however, this one is perfect for the foundation.
If you're still not sure, go and try it in a boutique. It'll make all the difference!
I tried the product. I really like the way it covers, but it has a strange smell that doesn't go away. it smells kind of like a soured wash cloth. it almost makes me not want to use it in fear that others can smell it.
Love this foundation
Historically I have used the Bare Minerals powder foundation and I have always liked it. I noticed that as I got older the powder would settle into my find lines. This gives me perfect coverage, lasts all day. I added in the Stroke of Light eye brightener and it is perfect! I think it is important to also used the Bareskin Perfecting Veil to finish it off.
I will definitely be purchasing again
The WORST foundation I've ever used
I went into my local ULTA to purchase some more foundation and was currently using Calvin Klein's 3 in 1 Foundation (which I loved but it was a bit to heavy for Summer). My mom told me about how great Bare Minerals is and how it would help my skin get the coverage I need without enhancing my breakouts. A consultant immediately referred me to this "great" new foundation and told me that it would be perfect for my type of skin. It wasn't. After just two days of use, I realized how much more oily my skin was than usual. It also made my have tons of tiny breakouts and left my skin feeling dirty and my pores feeling clogged. Because it was a bit of money (and I even purchased the brush to go with it) I tried to keep using it until it ran out. But it was just unbearable. The worst part was how the foundation would get all over my clothes and if I would sweat at all, it would drip down my neck causing me to break out there as well! I ended up wasting $40 on this horrible concoction and $30 on the brush. Immediately after I stopped using it my skin was better than ever. Do not waste your money.
Never liked liquid foundation until BareSkin!
I went with Bare Escentuals because I have combination skin prone to breakouts. I didnt want a heavy liquid foundation caked on my face all day long. I loved the original bare minerals but ventured out and tried Bare Skin. I cant go back to the powder, I love the Bare Skin so much! So easy to apply and absolutely perfect coverage. I had a bad rash covering my entire cheek one day and only using the BareSkin (no concealer or anything besides the moisturizer and clear-colored primer) the redness was COMPLETELY GONE! The picture I included doesnt do this justice but you can see how red my nose is without Bare Skin.
As a user of Bare Minerals powder foundation for about 6 years, I began to look for something that had more coverage. This liquid foundation is perfect! You can vary the amount of make up used based on how much coverage you need. However, the bottle has some deformities. Nearly every day, I shake the bottle per the instructions and when I open it, make up comes exploding out of the top. This is a huge waste of makeup, especially when you are only using a couple drops at a time. I love Bare Skin Foundation, but Bare Escentuals needs to work on the packaging a bit.
Flawless finish, but dries out skin
I applied the foundation without moisturizer (moisturizer is recommended in the tutorial). It takes 2 drops for each side of my face to give me a flawless, almost vampiric flawless, finish. It really is a great product. I like the end result, however it does dry out your face. About 10 minutes after I put it on my nose and cheeks started to peel/get dried out. I'm guessing the moisturizer will reduce this in the future. From far away I look fabulous, but close up, you can see the dryness. We'll try it with the moisturizer next time!
I love the Brightening Serum! It is something that now that I have found, I can't live without. My ONLY negative is that it clogs my pores, which as a devotee of the powder foundation I have never had to deal with before, but it's nothing that would keep me from using this great product.
