bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
smooth, good color selection, great finish, great coverage, buildable coverage, lightweight
I am so happy I decided to try this foundation! It's so light and looks so natural. ^_____^
I will tell all my friends.
This foundation has changed the way I look at make-up. It gives me the flawless, radiant, sexy looking coverage I've been looking for but all with good stuff inside. It goes on smooth and looks great after application. It's great if you want to wear make-up all day versus for only a couple of hours. Love this. Will definitely purchase again.
Great foundation once you get the hang of it
This is a great foundation, but people seem to have a hard time with application. It is essential to shake this up before use and mix it really, really well. Every time. It separates out very quickly and won't stay mixed for the next time you use it. A little goes a long way. My favorite way to apply this is to put a few drops on a beauty blender-type sponge, dot it on my face, and smooth and pat it in.
I have very fair skin with neutral undertones. It is usually very oily. Bare Porcealain 01 is a perfect match.
I really, really love having this in my foundation wardrobe. Most of my life I've been super-oily, and the only thing I could use was the Original Foundation in Fair. I'm now in my mid-40s, and my skin changes on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Usually I'm still pretty oily, but I go stretches where my skin is closer to combination. I also get hormonal cystic acne breakouts. This foundation is a perfect every day foundation for when I don't want or need powder foundation, but still need some coverage. I find it has medium coverage, but it can be built up to more full coverage. It give the skin a healthy, flawless appearance that is dewier than powder foundation.
I am so happy I decided to try this foundation! It's so light and all you need is a couple of drops and you're all set! My skin looks amazing and believe it or not after the first use my skin looked just as good without it. I don't think I will use any other foundation again. An absolute must have.
I love this foundation!!
I normally do not spend a ton of money on beauty products but happened to visit a Bare Minerals store with a friend. I bought this on a whim and I am so glad I did. I love everything about this foundation. The texture, the coverage. . . My hubby even noticed it. I walked out of our bathroom after getting ready and he said "your face makeup looks really good". haha I just finished my first bottle and my skin looks great. I have less redness and flakiness. I just went and bought some more.
Love this stuff!
After using the powder foundation for several years, and loving it, I finally tried this liquid and love it more! Great coverage (blonde with freckles) goes on smoothly and lasts all day. I was a little hesitant to spend the money on the brush but it really adds to the process for a really smooth look. Thanks BE
I have dry skin and was always a BE mineral powder gal. But this stuff has better coverage and helps keep my face moist. The brush is amazing!! I've got this in two shades, one for warm months and one for cold months. My only complaint is sometimes the foundation bubbles over out of the pinhole opening for no reason.
DISAPPOINTED! NOT for mature skin with pores
I bought the Bareskin and the special application brush and anxiously awaited receiving it. It goes on beautifully BUT, if you have visible pores it's a disaster. It settles in the pores and it's impossible to do anything about it. I tried using my Bare Minerals Bisque for a first step. Nope. I've tried every tring I can think of and haven't found a solution and I'm so disappointed. It goes on so easily and feels so smooth and natural. It's just not for me. If you have young skin or beautiful poreless skin you will love it.
I was really interested in BareSkin after an e-mail I got so I went down to a tangible location to see if I could see what it was all about. First of all, everyone in any bareMinerals store I've ever been to is incredible. I asked them to tell me about their experiences with the product and they gave me a generous sample and told me that if I didn't like it I may prefer complexion rescue (spoilers, it's probably my favorite thing in the world) so I went home and tried it. Now these people are wonderful at matching your skin tone, but this was just impossible. I saw the options online and figured they just did the best they could with what they had to work with. I applied it and I will say it stays put which is really nice, but it's so heavy. I felt like my skin couldn't breath. I left it on for about an hour before I couldn't take it and washed it off. This is a rare miss for bareMinerals.
Before you buy this, or anything really, I urge you to go to a store and talk to the people there. They really do just want to make you feel your best and find the right product for you.
74 and flawless
I use two drops of non oil moisturizer and two drops of the new serum and mix together and brush on my face for an all day flawless complexion,,,beneath the make up is un-even skin and some pretty deep wrinkles from being outside playing golf and tennis...good coverage, thanks!
Get the dang brush! > worth it♡
This foundation is amazing for people with sensitive skin. I have acne prone skin and some scarring that resulted from it, but this covers up all of my scars and any current blemishes with one application. My face looks flawlessly airbrushed. I've bought BE matte powder foundations before, and this product blows that out of the water.
Because of the formula, YOU WILL NEED THE MATCHING BRUSH. If you don't want to spend your money on a makeup brush, then don't bother to buy it. The foundation doesn't spread right without it.
Not your best effort BE
This foundation isn't great. I haven't tried many products that I don't like in the BE line, but this is terrible. The colors are really off! Nothing in this line matches my shade and it doesn't absorb into your skin. It sits on top and feels cakey. I was really disappointed because I wanted to love this. Please fix the shades!
I love this product!
Since starting to use this product, I have gotten many compliments on my skin tone, and people are amazed when I tell them I am wearing makeup! Applying with the perfecting face brush is a must!
I'm very pale. I thought I got the right shade. It looked good in the mirror. In natural light I looked orange. Maybe my fault, maybe the product, but I wasn't happy with it. Also needed a lot more than the recommended drop number to get full coverage. I won't be buying this product again.
I never wear liquid foundations, I always stuck with Bare Minerals Original Foundation but this stuff is amazing... very light feel and the perfect coverage. I don't understand any of the negative reviews! There is very little smell and it applies perfectly. I definitely recommend using the precision face brush to apply... I think that this one works the best.
Glad I tried this.
I used to wear the bare minerals powder foundation in my 20's and 30's but after 40 it didn't work well on me anymore, seemed to "settle in the lines". I saw a woman at a cookout and her makeup looked beautiful so I asked her what she was wearing and she said the pure brightening serum so I went to Ulta and found my color (ironically same as hers), Today is the first day I wore it, but it went on smoothly, I loved the coverage - just right, even had it on this afternoon for a spin and yoga class and it help up well. I have sensitive skin so time will tell on that, but so far I really like it.
I find this to be one of the best foundations I have ever used. I have stayed away from liquid foundations because I found them to clog my pores. This is not the case with bareSkin Foundation.
My one complaint is that it is very difficult to determine when the product is running out. I believe either a clear container or maybe a clear strip along the side would be beneficial.
I suffer from acne. Bumps and scars, the whole mess. I tried bare minerals powder and it looked cakey as I had to put quite a bit on since the coverage was awful. I gave bare minerals another shot and purchased bare skin. I was quite disapointed. The liquid is super oily which is messy and causes the already super oily parts of my face to breakout. It provides quite good coverage but it does not look natural. If you like the look of very luminous skin then this foundation is good. I prefer a more matte look. In the sunlight my skin looked WAY to shiny for my liking.
It also is AWFUL for wrinkles. Im 21. I do not have wrinkles. However, when I raise my eyebrows I create lines on my forehead. The foundation sinks into these lines and creates the look of wrinkles which stay on my face until I re-blend. So every time I raise my eyebrows I have to reblend, which is more than annoying. This foundation also feels heavy for some reason. It has an apparent odor which is really annoying since im not one to wear heavy prefumes to mask the scent.
Back to searching for a good everyday, natural looking acne covering foundation.
Acne-prone peeps BEWARE
I have used this product for the last month and a half and have loved it every single day. The last week I have gotten an uncontrollable about of large, red, puffy pimples - currently I have TEN! I took the product to the lady that does my facials, as this is the only thing I've really changed about my skin routine. She took one look at the ingredients and noticed right away that this was no good. "Coconut Alkanes are one of the most comedogenic ingredients." BEWARE PEOPLE! This product is advertised to be good for all skin types and NON-COMEDOGENIC, etc. etc. but it is not!
Irritated My Skin
I have sensitive skin and have never had problems with Bare Minerals original foundation. I decided to switch and give this a try and it irritated my face so badly! My face started burning and then tiny bumps started popping up. My entire face is bright read and HURTS it looks like I had a chemical peel!
I wanted to love this product
I tried this product for the first time today. The liquid is messy and coverage on your face is spotty. I've heard the good reviews and decided to try the product but it didn't work for me the first time. When I purchased the bottle I didn't buy the special brush that is supposed to be used so I just applied it with my fingers. Maybe if I had the brush it would have been better and easier to use.
I really wanted to like this...
I've been using bare minerals original foundation for the last decade and love it. I was really excited and intrigued when they launched bare skin because I've never used a liquid foundation but have always been curious. I ordered the starter kit that included the brush so many rave about. I was so excited when this arrived and immediately tried it out. Having not used a liquid before, I tried hard not to get discouraged when I hated the application the first time and optimistically said I'd try it again the next day when I had more time to play with it. After about 8 separate attempts to make this work, with primer, with cc cream, with nothing underneath, with and without mineral veil, and every single time I thought "there's no way I can actually wear this in public, I just feel weird with it on my face". The shade match was fine. It just feels strange and it's difficult to obtain decent coverage. The brush is a bust and I don't understand how people like it. It's just a total fail all the way around for me. I was highly disappointed.
I love this product.
When I first tried this product, I was surprised at how light it was on my skin. I can barely feel it. The really nice thing is that it covers blemishes (it's buildable!) and it has NO preservatives. I used to get such bad breakouts from face makeup, but not anymore!
The Worst Product BM has ever made
I have been using BM original foundation for years. And Glee and Mineral Veil. But Bare Skin is awful. I went to a Boutique to have it put on me. The coverage was way too heavy. You could see every line on my face. It never soaked in at all. It just sat there. I could wipe a finger across my cheek long after it was applied and it would wipe off like a lotion just put on. The boutique worker agreed it was way too much coverage for me. She even admitted that it was the most returned product they sell.
Start out with a kit, you need the brush!
I received a sample and thought what a mess! Why would I change from the powder mineral I have worn for at least 15 years.
Well they had a kit with the 28.00 dollar brush so I tried it one more time! I love it it is great. I use wrinkle repair, moisturizer, liquid foundation a splash of bronzer and a lite cover of veil. The moxie lip color and some mascara. Sounds like a lot but literally 4 minutes and I am out the door! You need the brush. I shake the bottle remove the lid and use 1 drop, tap it lightly all over my face and smooth it with the brush the more the better when buffing.
Love this, but please do something about the bottle!!
I love this product!!! It feels great and looks great! Application is a breeze. There is only one problem, and that's the bottle...it leaks and makes a HUGE mess! Plus, it is causing me to waste a lot of the product.
I read about this over and over on the online reviews, but decided to order anyway, vowing to be extra careful. Despite the fact I've been extra careful, it still leaks and I spend more time cleaning the bottle and the mess it makes than I do applying it.
Please, BE, do something about this!!!
Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with it!
Very pleased : second time around
The first time I got tan and didn't get the brush. The brush is a must! I hated the color the first time, I am a warm skin tone and this is for yellow undertones and hence I sent it back. They had a kit the had the brush a small bottle of the bare skin only this time I got bare latte 11: perfect color and I certainly do not look my age (this helps a lot). Highly recommend but you must get the brush
I love this makeup. It goes on smoothly. it looks very natural and its brightening. It doesn't clog my pores and I don't feel like I have to touch it up with a powder. This is a fantastic foundation. I can't wait to try other bare minerals products :)
So I went into Sephora and walked passed this and couldn't resist not to look at this! I found my shade, and asked for a sample (I'm a sample person). They gave a sample and when i got home threw it in my makeup bag and forgot about it for a while. A week or so later i tried it before I left for the day i applied it and wasn't happy. I watched a couple of videos recently and found out i applied it wrong (i sort of just wiped it on and blended). Throughout the day it sat in my skin and moisturized it (i have dry skin). At first it looked like it was waxed on to my face. I applied to much product and learnt that it actually is AMAZING! It gives a very natural finish if you apply it correctly and blend and buff. It didn't wipe off or anything. The only thing i would recommend is that for oily people remember to touch up with some sort of powder throughout the day because you will feel like a puddle of oil. It did wipe of just a tiny bit in my T zone but otherwise i highly recommend it!
I wasn't too impressed
I was so excited to try this foundation, when I shake it I notice it leaks a bit, other people are saying it's great coverage, that's why I bought it, I have some scars from acne and a few breakouts and when I wore this foundation, it almost looked as if I had no makeup on. You can see all my problem areas still :( also it made my skin look very, shiny, is it supposed to? I applied it with the Perfecting Face Brush and I wasn't sure how much foundation I was supposed to put in the brush but I built it up and still felt like I wasn't getting any coverage. Maybe I wasn't using enough foundation or applying it wrong? Am I the only one that had this problem?
