bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
I have oily skin and large pores. I never been able to wear liquid makeup without it melting off my face in a couple of hours. Then I tried this new serum foundation. I love the look and feel. I love how easily it goes on. My only complaint is the smell. My husband even commented on the smell when he leaned in to kiss me about an hour after I put it on. I like the natural aspect of this product, but something needs to be done about the smell. A little added fragrance to mask that horrible odor would not go amiss.
I purchased the Bare Minerals bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum foundation and I am very unhappy with it. The foundation just sinks into my pours and my fine lines. I am going back to the powder foundation.
I was so excited when this product came out because it's been hard to find a good fragrance free product. I have acne prone skin and I like how the brush that comes with it allows you to apply full coverage and it's very light feeling. A little amount seems to go a long way. HOWEVER, it rubs off easily and my skin looks so oily that i had to keep blotting and applying veil over it all day which I don't want to have to keep putting makeup over makeup( why I use veil because I rarely have to touch up) not to mention $$$. Wasted just to cover shine. I was surprised since this doesn't happen to me with products I have used with oil in it. So I'm not sure why,but it's AWFUL. I hope they can find a way to make this product not give you that sweaty look!! I feel overall dissapointed and have been using my Mac foundation again even though it makes me break out
Sinks into pores making them visible
It's a great formula, but it sinks into the pores on my T Zone and makes them look huge. The BM Original powder formula does not cause large looking pores, so I might have to go back to that. However, my face looked very good (minus the T Zone pore issues). Even after two applications of primer, my pores this liquid still looked bad. Coverage is great, good layering.
Good foundation, bad packaging
I have been using this foundation for a few months now. I like the overall look and feel of the product. I have very sensitive skin that breaks out easily and have had no issues with this product causing breakouts. I do have oily skin and it does make my skin look more 'dewy' than I would like after a few hours. I do wear the bare minerals powder foundation over it. My only real complaint is the packaging. The first few times it was SO hard to get any product out. In fact, my 63 year old mother, who also bought some and is a huge Bare Minerals fan hasn't even been able to use hers since she isn't strong enough to squeeze the bottle to get any out. It does loosen up after time but now I have the opposite problem where it comes out too easily and is leaking into the cap so when I put the cap on it comes out of the 'seam' and gets everywhere. Other than the packaging that really needs redesigned ASAP I like the product overall.
I just received my bareskin a couple of day ago and I LOVE IT!! It goes on perfect and feels so good. Thank you
Much better than expected
After being a true fan of the Original foundation for several years, I was a little nervous of stepping out of my box to try something so different. However, after playing around with this foundation and learning what works for me, I am very glad I did.
Overall, this foundation has been a great product for me. The coverage is excellent, and this is coming from a full-coverage sort of a girl. I'm always impressed with how well it tackles my blemishes and scars. I don't have to use as much concealer anymore. I've also found that it actually works BETTER than my bM Correcting Concealer under my eyes. Just make sure to use only a very small amount! The foundation feels very light on my face, and it gives a very dewy look, something that the Original just couldn't do. Application is pleasant too - the brush feels phenomenal.
Just a few reasons why I didn't give this product the full five stars - I was unable to find a perfect shade match. The one I ended up with it so close that it really doesn't make a different once it's blended in, but it was nice that I had an exact match in the Original. Also, I've found that the foundation applies a little streaky, even after applying a primer. However, this goes away after I swipe a little Mineral Veil on, which seems to set the foundation properly. Other than that, it's great stuff! I highly recommend!
I've been a Bareminerals user for 9 years and I love the original foundation. When I heard that Bare Escentuals came out with a liquid foundation, I was skeptical. Then, i watched the demos and reviews via Youtube videos and thought why not try it because it got lots of positive reviews. So I bought in a Bare Escentuals boutique while visiting my family and tried it just as the directions say. I have to agree that the coverage is great. It doesn't feel heavy. However, I'm disappointed that the foundation transfers or rubs off so easily. I was wearing my headphones and was surprised it rubbed off on them as well as my iphone as I spoke to a friend. It's been a while since I've used liquid foundation so maybe they all rub off easily. Also, I started noticing dry patches around my cheeks, chin and forehead as i was buffing the 4th drop over my face. I've never had that issue with the original foundation. I want to give this liquid foundation another try. If I'm unsuccessful then I'll return the items.
Not for Oily Skin
I was colored matched with this at the boutique when I went in for my matte foundation. In the winter/spring I wear golden tan but I find it to be too light in the summer. So, I was asked if I tried this before and that the colors are different. First, he took the foundation and dabbed all over my face with the brush. Far more than the 2 drops the commercial points out. When he was done the color was perfect and I felt it looked good. I went back to work and went into the bathroom under the neon lights and I was mortified. I was streaky. I sat at my desk and from just regular face touching there was makeup everywhere! All over my papers and desk. I went into the bathroom again and wiped as much of it as I could. I have oily skin and I"m not sure if that is why this didn't work. Also, the guy put a lot of foundation on me but it was necessary to cover some dark spots from blemishes. In any event, I returned it. If the foundation and brush were not so expensive I probably would have made do with it because I hate returning things but this was just too terrible. I recently got matched with a pressed foundation in golden dark which would be way to dark for me in the loose powders but it looks great on. I'll go back to the matte in golden tan as we go into fall and winter.
All natural and beautiful
I have been searching far and wide for a silicone (dimethicone) free product. I am severely allergic to it. It is the new "it" ingredient in all (most) makeup, fabulous results but horrible for you and your skin. Most organic foundations has so much oil my face would break out. I was skeptical but decided to yet again, pay for another foundation. I am so glad I did! it is the best foundation ever. No parabens, silicone, etc. It goes on soft and easy to use. Love the brush that is recommended. You can control the coverage. It reduces redness and my biggest concern, the look of pores. HOWEVER, I feel it has better results with a primer. I am disappointed that Bareescentuals does not offer a silicone free primer. Hence 4 stars.
