bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Amazing product, awful packaging
I love bareminerals. It's the only make up that doesn't clog my pores or irritate my skin in anyway so I've been very loyal to this brand. Also, I have pink undertones to my skin and I've never had a problem with any baremineral products looking too yellow or orange on me. I'm also very fair skinned and they make products light enough for me which is amazing!
I tried this product in one of the boutiques and loved the finish so I bought it in the shade Bare Porcelain which is perfect for my skin. It gives just the amount of coverage that I'm looking for and still looks very natural.
My biggest problem is the bottle. This product is almost $30 so I don't want to waste even a drop of it. However, product is constantly leaking up through the top of the bottle which is just messy and wasteful. Being a student without much to spend, this product is a splurge for me, and the fact that is leaks at all is quite a con.
I have the brush that goes with it and I really like it, except for the fact that it is really difficult to clean completely. Product seems to remain on the inner part of the brush near the base. I've been very diligent about cleaning it too.
All in all I'm not sure if I would buy this product again. If the bottle was redesigned I certainly would, because I love the actual make-up part of it.
I love and hate this make up
When I first started using this I thought this make up was amazing. It's still pretty amazing because it does make my skin look amazing and it does have a light feel. But it's such a pain to deal with. It does go on pretty easily, but every once in a while the makeup will volcano out. Since you're only supposed to use one or two drops, the only option I have is to wipe off the makeup that volcanoed out of it. There is no other way I can use it. So I just feel like I'm wasting make up. Not to mention wasting time. I will probably not buy this makeup again. Unless they come up with another way to dispense the serum.
Works wonders for my post-pregnancy skin!
I will admit that I have used and loved the powder foundation for years. Once I became pregnant twice over, however, I found some new changes with my skin tone and balance. The powder still works well, but once I tried the Serum Foundation, my skin woke back up! This foundation covers well without being cakey. I don't have any weird spots on my face like I did with the powder foundation settling in ways I did not like. While I will admit there can be an odd odor to this foundation, I find the smell goes away the more I shake the foundation. Shaking is key, and I use the little bit left on my fingertip to cover any concentrated trouble spots. Highly recommend!
Not What I Expected
I went to a beauty store to find my foundation match, i was introduced to this new foundation which i was intrigued to try it. The lady started to use it on me and i felt my face very creamy and oily. Then i though of giving it a second chance and buying it, it was the worst thing that I could have done. I just dont like it. Totally not what i was expecting.
Love coverage and feel but...
I have been a long time user of your powder foundation. Though I have a good complexion, my skin has gotten drier and I felt I needed a liquid foundation. Leaves my skin feeling soft and silky.
I would have given it five stars but, for whatever reason, the foundation just keep bubbling out and will not stop. There is a lot of waste because of this. Even putting a pin in the tip in hopes of clearing out doesn't stop this from happening.
The other issue I have is with the brush. I use your brush cleaning liquid but the brush is difficult to get really clean and once it's washed, it stays damp for days and still has residue in it.
Please consider changing the bottle and the brush!
bottle is horrible
cannot figure out how the bottle works, then got it to work and now won''t will never buy again
Love the product -hate the dispensing system
I love the look and feel of this product however I find the bottle dispensing system difficult to use. You must shake the product, which normally is not a problem. However, I shake, shake, and then shake some more before it dispenses, It really takes a lot of time to get it to dispense, so when I am in a hurry, I switch back to the powder. I would use more of this if it were easier to use,
I have been using this for awhile now and found the hardest part was finding the correct shade since I have pink undertones and the colors I have tried are golden toned. I am older with dry to normal skin and found it will puddle in pores so I use a primer and that solved the problem. I work 12 hour shifts and I it stays - I do use mineral veil after applying my make-up.
I had a problem with the tip clogging and found after shaking the bottle to mix it I then tapped the bottle, bottom down several times on the counter and have not had a problem since. I wish they would correlate the shades to the mineral foundation to at least get you close to the shade family that would work for you to switch.
Just the best EVER!
I am an older women. As such I have a slight wrinkle problem as all women my age. I have tried all kinds of different makeup to try to minimize wrinkles and fine lines. A very helpful lady at penny's helped me with the problem. She introduce me to bare minerals. And it changed my life!!! A lot of people are complaining about the bottle and how messy it is and I can't understand how that happens! The lady showed me how to apply bare minerals and I haven't lost a drop. You shake the bottle before every use ( with the lid on ) Than remove the top, put a few drops ( a little goes a long way )on a make-up brush and apply to skin. If you need more apply a few more drops. No mess no drips. When you think it's used up , turn the bottle over let sit and you should get a couple of drops more ( remember , with the lid on ). Never a problem and absolutely 100% happy.
Felt like a coating on my face with an unpleasant odor. The odor lasted all day. Toward the end of the day my skin was irritated (itchy). Unfortunately, I purchased the product and the brush, which was a waste of my money. I will never use it again! If you are going to try it, get a sample. Use it a couple times before wasting your money. I am sticking to the powder!
ONE OF THE BEST FOUNDATIONS AROUND!!!!
I realize that not all foundations work for everyone but I can truly say, this foundation is AMAZING! I have tried so many different foundations in my lifetime and many of them were not the right shade, did not have the best ingredients, and where just too thick!! Finally, someone has created a foundation that considers the fact that women come in so many lovely shades, just like flowers!!! This foundation is also good for people with sensitive skin, like me. Bare Minerals have so many lovely products, I really think they are truly worth a try. This line was recommend to me by an up and coming make up artist and I am glad she made the recommendation. I take great care of my skin and have done so all my life. If you love your skin and want to keep it in great condition....TRY THIS FOUNDATION. If you are allergic to anything, that's normal. Again, not everything works for everyone, but Bare Minerals stand by their products and this is also proof of their dedication and that the AWARDS they have received were deserved. KEEP UP THE FABULOUS WORK in making everyone women feel beautiful!!!
Favorite Foundation of All Time
This foundation has become my Holy Grail and I doubt I will ever reach for anything else! I know some have labeled it as cakey, and I will admit I experienced this. I was in a hurry, put too much product in the brush, just swiped it on and walked; but if you use small amounts at a time and really take the time to buff it in like they recommend I'm sure you'll be as happy with this foundation as I am. My acne has also decreased tremendously since I started using this foundation (I haven't changed my routine just my foundation). My co-workers and family members all comment on how jealous they are of my skin and I tell them its all in the foundation :)
I do highly recommend getting color matched in a boutique, or if unable to get to a boutique really take the time to check the color against your skin tone in different lighting. The color I was reaching for was not even close to what ended up being a perfect match for me. The girl in my boutique was amazing though, and my color is Bare Shell.
I have light skin w/ freckles, rosacea tinged cheeks, strawberry blonde hair, and I can get a faint "golden" tan in the summer (I've been told I'm a pain to color match lol).
I got this product about 2 month ago and i loved how it applies on; its like your putting nothing on. As a couple hours passed it starts to detirate in certain spots like by my nose and in the t-zone, so you will have to retouch throughout the day depending on what type of skin you have. Also it has a dewy finish so if you do not like that just throw their mineral veil over it to make it look matte. Overall i like the product and its very build able
Made me breakout
Thank goodness I tried a sample first - nice light coverage but all day it felt slightly slick to the touch & made my face break out in little bumps after a couple uses. If you've been using their powder foundation & are curious to switch to liquid, I recommend trying a sample first. I use Fairly Light in powder & tried Bare Neutral in this liquid which was a good shade match for me.
I will not buy the full size of this formula & will stick to BE's loose matte foundation powder - at least the ingredients list for that stays true to their original motto of "makeup so pure you can sleep in it" (which I do with no adverse affects).
I had been wanting to try BareSkin for a while and finally pulled the trigger when my Original powder foundation ran out. I am beyond impressed! The coverage is amazing for my rosacea and minor breakouts, and it looks so beautiful and natural. I did learn that it looks best over an oil-free moisturizer, my BB with sunscreen was too sticky and it didn't lay right. Finished with Mineral Veil it lasts on my combination/oily skin most of the day. It rubs off on the nose and chin, but I think if I was better about touching up with Mineral Veil throughout the day it would minimize this. Overall, I am sorry I waited so long to try it, I don't think I'll ever be without it!
I absolutely loove this foundation. It makes my skin looked soo natural. Sometimes i do like to add the mineral makeup over so that it makes my skin look amazing. This is definetly one of my faves!!
Awwwwwwwesome! Singing the praises!
This is my favorite foundation of all time. My skin is starting to look a little older (I'm 42), so the powder foundation was getting just a teeny bit visible. I put this kind on and was a little shocked at first because it is *so* correcting that my skin looked completely different. But after a few days of using it, I'm used to having nearly flawless skin again. My only complaint is that the SPF is a little heavy. But what are you going to do? Not wear SPF? I think switching to a non-SPF moisturizer is going to make this foundation utterly perfect. One note: your skin must be well exfoliated. Otherwise the makeup shows.
Awsome new product
I love the personal touch when visiting a store. I tried this product for the first time and loved the coverage. I have redness and a scar to cover. It worked great. I would continue using this product.
I love this product! But the bottle is a disaster! Wastes product by spewing all over the place for no apparent reason. This is very frustrating! If I'm going to spend $30 on foundation, I don't want half of it a wasted mess all over everything except my face!
Please fix this, or I won't be purchasing again.
please except one thing.....
I love everything about this product except it has a bad tendancy to grab my mascara and glue it to my cheeks, even after using touch up powder over it. I use the total domination mascara and love it but i think im going to stick to your powdered foundations and concealers.
Very disappointed in this product. Very oily so it oozes everywhere. If you travel with it, expect a mess. If you just leave it on our counter, expect a mess. They say only use one drop, but since it oozes everywhere it's almost impossible to get one drop after a few uses. If you happen to get more than 1-2 drops on your applicator brush you look like snooki. It's so messy and because of its ingredients, it makes you look white in pictures. Will not buy again and I should be out soon since most of the product is all over my counter or makeup bag.
Best foundation Ever!
I am not usually a liquid foundation wearer, but lately the Primer plus powder has been making my skin look dry and flaky in places and it goes oily in others. I thought I'd try this when it was recommended for a "sheer" look. It's awesome! Even my husband complimented me "on the way my makeup looks." And he never notices anything. He couldn't pinpoint the difference, but said I looked "healthy and glowy." Ok, so he's no Shakespeare. Still, the sentiment was there. It stays all day and I love it.
Best Liquid Foundation I've Ever Had
I have had many liquid foundations over the years and most of them covered your face instead of blending in. This feels light on your face, it doesn't cake on, doesn't leave makeup lines under your jaw. It is so smooth, a little goes a long way. I don't use the brush. I use my fingers. Love it.
beyond my expectations
This liquid foundation lives up to all the hype I've heard and more.
I have a combination of oily skin along my T-zone and normal for the rest of my face.
Long story short, there is little to no powder needed, no touch up's needed, no streaking, no patchiness, and no dryness.
It has very full coverage, is seamless, practically invisible against my skin, and does not budge even after an intense workout.
HIGHLY recommended to those who are looking for a well formulated liquid foundation.
I have never owned a liquid foundation. I've always thought they would be too heavy and because I have very sensitive skin Ive stayed away from them. My sensitive skin is what has made me a fan of the mineral foundation since I was 19. I'm almost 25 and notice my face becoming very dry in the winter so I decided to put my fears aside and try a liquid foundation from a brand I have loved for some time now. I was blown away by how lightweight the foundation was and how little product I needed to use to achieve a flawless face. One again bare minerals has created a product that has amazing results for my skin and i will continue to use this product for years to come.
I have been eyeing this foundation since it came out but I was afraid to spend the money and then hate it. My in-laws purchased it for me for my birthday. I can honestly say it is better than I expected. I have acne and scarring and I feel like it goes on smoothly and looks beautiful. I actually still feel pretty at the end of the day.
Great for contact lens wearers
There is a slight odor initially but not so bad. I like that you can build on it for coverage and watching the videos really helped. I use the brush that is specifically designed for this application and start with only 2 drops on clean and moisturized skin. I pinch the brush together so the foundation sets down a bit lower so it does not glob on. Then I go a second round with another 2 drops the same way for perfect, medium coverage. I have also used the tinted mineral veil over it with the large brush. This older girl loves it!
Very light texture and finish, but oily
Nice color, finish and texture. However, it's too oily for my skin (T-zone really greases up and shows my pores). Nice on the dry areas, though! Will probably not re-purchase unless it comes in a formula suitable for combination skin.
I am not usually one for reviews, but felt as though this product deserved one. I have used the powder foundation for many years now and decided to try something new. This foundation goes on so lightly and easily, while providing generous coverage. I LOVE the way it feels and would highly suggest this product to others.
I also own this I like the light coverage, i don't like the smell, tho.
