Q & A

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 62 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Top Shelf This is my favorite palette ever. I have had mine for four years and am only finally needing to replace it. My only problem is I use the dark gold color, Cognac, far more than the lighter color. 09/04/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by "Nick of Time" PERFECT I've always been the never do eyeshadow same twice kinda gal. But nick of time set with chance and kismet is MY go to eye shadows. Use them all the time! They are so complimentary to my green eyes. Just make them pop! Don't have to use much to get a great look. Don't ever stop making these shades! 07/17/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beauty with ease. Love the color. Love the ready eye shadow. Love how it looks and stays on all day. 07/06/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by "The Enlightenment" : Perfect I work in a casual office and was hoping to enhance my look without my colleagues silently registering, "Oh, she's wearing makeup now." I wanted to polish my look so the Matte foundation was a great start -- next were my eyes. I did not want a cliché look to my eyeshadow. I was looking for a neutral, NATURAL, subtle and non-glittery shadow and this is it. Just enough shadow in the Namaste shade to add contour, and the Guru adds highlight without shine. If you are looking for a pop of color or high contrast, this is not your combo. If you are looking for something quiet and classy in a MATTE shadow, I highly recommend it. This may be too subtle for some skin tones (I am using Golden Tan Matte foundation) 02/05/2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by COLORS NOT AS STATED The "violet woods" color is far from being a purple color. It is more like a smokey gray color. Would have given 5 stars if color was purple. Nonetheless, it's a nice color combo and wears well. 12/11/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this pallet, run out of Mixologist (light tone) too easily though I wish I could get a larger amount of the mixologist or a bigger pallet for that price because boy- it's my absolute all time favorite everyday to formal eye shadow, hands down. You keep it subtle and light which is great for my light skin tone, or work it to be dramatic and popping. It wears ALL day and I don't have to worry about touching up the glossy, sexy look it brings to the apex of my eyes, it doesn't come off or get dull. Just need to get more mixologist! I have a bunch of the darker tone ones sitting around.. 12/07/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The High Society I'm so absolutely in love with the High Society duo! The lighter of the two shades is my absolute favorite shade ever, I wish I could just buy a larger size of this specific color. There is a very subtle low glow, golden pearl, satiny finish to it that is so incredibly hard to find. I'd also purchase if debutante was offered in a loose formulation. The second color waltz is beautiful as well, but it's in my estimation only one shade darker than debutante, both colors are what I'd describe as pastels. If your looking for a substantially darker crease color this isn't the pallet for you. If your looking for a very soft wash of pearlescent color this is AMAZING! I'm stocking up because I never want to be without this option. Thank you BE for giving us choices offering unusual finishes and colors. As always these shadows are very blendable and highly pigmented. 12/01/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Blends well The colors are true to the image and they blend so well. They last all day and they look great with green eyes. 11/09/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite go to Love the combo of these colors. The pigmentation is deep so the light color really shows up and the darker shade takes hardly any. The only thing I don't like is I use more of the light than the dark so I end up with a lot of dark left. Just re ordered because if i have to take a small makeup bag, I can make do with just these two colors for every day. Perfect for light eyes! 10/31/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by "The magic touch" Nice everyday color. Both colors have a sheen/glittery thing going on which I don't mind, just thought I should throw it in here just in case some ladies hate glitters. The pigmentation is a little off, if you like a more dramatic look this dual might not be the one for you. 10/10/2015

I'm 51 and have a lot of fold on my eye lid. My sister says no to shadow but I always looked good with a darker brown on lid with little more shaped like a upside down V heading up on upper eye (fold) lol.

I use it [dark shade] of my Ready 2 shadow as a liner. I tried it with a wet brush and didn't like it. I use it with a dry liner brush and it stays on a long time. It's a softer look for me and I now will only use this brand for a liner. I use The Escape for a liner and light shadow.

It would be nice to have a chart telling you what colors go best with each eye color. It's always hard to decide without professional help, particularly online.

I don't own as many of the 2.0s and 4.0s as I would like yet, but I have blue eyes and find that golds, bronzes, browns and taupes look great with blue eyes! Next on my list is The Top Shelf in 2.0, beautiful gold and brown!

Answer:
I have blue eyes as well. I just got The True Romantic Ready eyeshadow and it really makes my eyes pop. Browns are good for blue eyes. Orange and blue are complimentary colors, so The Paradise Found 2.0 is nice too. Nirvana (part of The Paradise found) is an orange peach color that really brings out blue eyes.

I can't tell by looking, are their any matte eyeshadows in these duos that aren't matched with a shimmer or satin finish. When you reach a certain age as I have, shimmer shadows are not as appropriate.

I use The Escape [two shadows] I can't wear anything with shimmer or shine, either. I use the dark shade as a [dry] liner and the light shade as my shadow.

Answer:
That is so not true! Just because you have reached a certain age certainly does not mean you cannot pull of a nice shimmer shadow. The reason the pair them together is because they are better together and look way prettier! So don't be afraid to still wear shimmer shadows!

Answer:
If you read any of Leslie's posts or interviews, she believes that a bit of shimmer is good on women of all ages. The luminosity helps diffuse any fine lines or wrinkles. My mother uses all these palettes & traditional slimmers, and she became a believer that shimmer was not dependent on being under a certain age.

Answer:
I know purple is THE BEST for complimenting hazel eyes. I have a light skintone AND brown/green hazel eyes. I have "The Dream Sequence" and "The After Party". They both are great. Each quad (4.0) comes with a small piece of paper that shows you how to get night and day looks. "The Dream Sequence" are in purple shades and "The After Party" is for a smokey eye look. I'm happy with both quads.

The A-List - Night
The Afterparty - Night
The Elements - Day or Night

READY 2.0 Eye Color Palettes:

The Hidden Agenda - Day
The 15 Minutes - Day (really pretty)
The Paradise Found - Day
The Escape - Day or Night
The Alter Ego - Night
The Honeymoon Phase - Night

Visit your local Bare Escentuals Boutique or a place that sells Bare Minerals products and see if they're able to test out some colors on your eyes or on the top of your hand or against your forearm so that you can see how it looks on your skin. I would rather try it on the eyes though so you can really see what stands out. I went to a store locally and found out that I'm a Warm Deep in READY foundation and since August I thought Golden Dark was my shade, but it was coming up a little too light. I'm Golden Dark in the original and matte foundation. The woman was really helpful making sure I was matched well. Looking online you can't tell so having some help in person can make a difference.
