READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
I chose a medium shade of foundation. I absolutely love the product and how it makes my skin look, however; the medium shade was much too light. Normally medium is the correct shade, but with this foundation, I needed a darker shade.
Love, Love, Love This!
I have been a BE customer for years. I started out with the original foundation, then moved to the matte foundation, and most recently moved to the Ready foundation. All three foundations have their benefits and I can see where people would like one more than the others. My one is the Ready foundation. After reading reviews, I went to my local boutique to be color matched, and I also purchased the precision brush at the same time as the Ready foundation. I love the ease of use and the great coverage I get from this foundation. I use a moisturizer, primer and Redness Remedy before the foundation. I have fairly oily skin -- especially for my age -- and I find touch-ups are not frequently required.
Love it! Would not want to live without it!
I bought my first Ready Foundation back in April. I just now had to buy another one and that's only because I dropped my compact and lost the remaining foundation. I didn't realize just how much I loved Ready Foundation until I didn't have it anymore. I went back to the original I still have in my stock. While I still like the Original; it just doesn't give me the coverage that RF does. I can't wait to use Ready Foundation tomorrow morning. Oh, by the way, I wear Golden Fair in Original and Fairly Light in Ready. It definitely helps to go into a boutique to get matched.
I would also like to add that BE has the best customer service! I called in with what I thought was a minor question. The woman that took my call was so helpful and informative. Thank you for not only making a great product, but for great customer service too!
I was very hesitant about using this product, i rear through all of the reviews went to the store and got shade matched ( it is true what they say you are usually a shade darker in this then in the original foundation). I absolutely fell in love with this makeup, it last we so much longer throughout the day and my skin looks flawless. Partnered with the touch up veil and the blush I have never looked better! Worth the money!
Love it but torn about the shade.
Today will be my third order of this BE solid foundation. As long as I use the Primer first I love the way it makes my skin look and feel. But, I can't quite match my face to the shade of my body. The Golden Medium 270 is a tad too light and the Golden Tan 330 is a tad too dark. The Medium Tan would also be too dark bc it is for the same level of darkness but has different undertones. I am definitely more of a "yellow bone" so rosey tones I don't think will work. Also, I have recently begun having acne, I am 26 but I am now using Pro Active and am clearing up but still need coverage. I don't know if I just am not using the right brush bc from other reviews I have read today I guess that different brushes will give you different amounts of coverage but, I can still see some dark marks a little on my face when using this. I am going to try the precision brush. Okay that is all I have to say. I wish that there was a shade between golden medium and golden tan. I have been mixing them but I can't afford to buy 2 a month. I am just going to go lighter and add bronzer and that. Other than that I love this make up. I look so clean, refreshed, glowing and special. Since using this and Laura Gellar make up I have gotten so many compliments. I use Laura Gellar blush, eye shadown, highlighter and sometimes I will add her mineral foundation onto my Golden med. BE to make up for the lightness. Okay thanks. Good luk.
Didn't like it - at FIRST
...but I know NOW that I was applying it incorrectly, whiiiiiiiiich is sort of a fault of the company IMO.
I had previously thought, no I don't need a precision face brush I have one JUST like it at home plus flawless face brush, full flawless face brush, AND handy buki brushes - and I refused to buy another brush. That was my mistake. With application from any of those other brushes the foundation is applied "splotchy" and looks bad.
When the girl at the boutique applied the foundation with the precision brush it was seriously a different finish all together. I was actually astonished at the difference the brush makes & I caved and bought ANOTHER bm brush.
But now I am happy. One "press" in to the foundation and I can cover 1/3 of my face with the precision brush.
So while I do like the ease of application, if you don't want to buy the precision brush then don't buy this foundation b/c you won't like the finish.
Wanted to love it...
I really wanted to love this product due to the huge anti-aging and moisture benefits but, it just isn't made for oily skin. The other other issue with this product is that the shade selection is too small, it would be so helpful if the shade selection matched the loose powder foundation selection, the two shades closest to my shade were way off. I'm sticking with my B.E. matte loose powder foundation, which I love.
I had hoped this would be less messy than the original foundation as I always manage to find the loose minerals around my sink. I love the original and wish I hadn't spent the money on the "Ready" it is exactly what I was trying to get away from when I first moved to the original foundation many, many years ago. When I put this on I look too pale when I get the coverage I want. I am usually a medium in the original and ordered medium in the ready. Where the original foundation matches my skin and makes my skin look better, the READY foundation puts a fake looking layer on my skin. I think it would be better than most compact ready foundations but I had high expectations for comparable coverage from BE I don't trust the boutiques as I did a color match with them and they failed with my daughter miserably. I think BE is trying too hard to get this market of users who think a compact is faster. I honestly think after I spin the Ready compact around(I have a hard time figuring out which end to open it on) , open it, dust the brush, smooth the product on and fidget with extra blush and add concealer where the ready fails to cover that it takes longer to use the compact than the original which is a quick "Tap, Swirl and buff." I will finish this product but will have to mix it with the original foundation to get the right color.
I have tried different brands in couple of years and this is definitely the best foundation I have ever used!
Love the feeling of this foundation
I love the READY line - much easier to keep my bathroom counter clean than all of the loose powder flying about. It feels very light on the skin, not heavy like other brands can feel. I've also had better luck with the READY foundation covering/blending concealers into my skin than with the Original or Matte foundations (definitely not cute to be able to see the spots you concealed...#.
I have loved this foundation since I started using it 3 months ago, but in the last few days my love for it has gone up even more. I highly recommend using the Precision face brush with this #I believe the Heavenly Face brush is quite similar, although I don't own that one#. I had been using the Full Flawless Face brush #I believe that's the one that came with the get started kit). The Precision brush is synthetic, so it transfers the moisture in this foundation well, while the Flawless brushes absorb the moisture. The Precision brush also just requires a light press into the foundation before buffing it on your face, instead of the full Swirl, Tap, and Buff process. Overall, I'd say I've always liked this better than the loose powders, but since buying the Precision brush I just appreciate it even more!
I've been a loyal Bare Minerals foundation user for 8+ years. This compact version of the original loose powder foundation is exactly what I've been craving. It's pretty much the same formula, look and feel of the old stuff but your powder doesn't fly away so easily. I use the Precision Face Brush for application and am done in less than fifteen seconds.
The only negative I have noticed is that I recommend going a shade darker than you would for the loose powder foundation. (example: I am normally Medium Beige in the loose powder and got the Medium Tan for the READY Foundation.)
I wanted to let you knoa about my experiences with the new READY foundation. Mind you, I have been a Bare Escentuals customers since 2007. I have used your regular foundation and Matte foundation throughout the past 5 years. And I have to say that I absolutely love the Original Foundation and all of your eye colors and mascara. However, recently I have been busy and have found that I haven't had time to do my makeup as much because of my busy schedule, so I opted to try the READY foundation. I went in, got matched for the READY foundation and was very happy. So I decided to purchase it. However, this has turned into a mistake. Since purchasing the READY foundation, I have NOT liked it at all. The first day I wore it, it didn't even last 4 hours before my looked as though I didn't have any makeup on (yes I have the correct brush - i also purchased that#. You could see the redness and pimples. I thought that at first it was due because I only had the face primer on and not moisturizer on. So I gave it another try. Next time I wore it, I prepped my face - cleaned, moisturized, and primer #yes all YOUR products b/c I love them!# and then put my READY foundation on and followed with warmth, and mineral veil, and blush. I looked in the mirror and I looked like a ghost!! I couldn't believe it! I NEVER look like a ghost with the Original even in the winter when I was pale. I thought it might take time to warm on my face - but it didnt. I had several people #at family event) ask me if I was okay because I looked extremely pale, more than usual. I was sooo upset. However, after another few hours - it was gone. It looked like I had never put makeup on. This has happened every time I've used the READY foundation. A similar situation happened last night - and honestly it wasn't until I saw a picture of me and my makeup this morning that I've decided I was DONE with the READY foundation. Mind you, I haven't even had this for a month yet and I already HATE it. I'm very disappointed and . I have NEVER said this about your products, but I've honestly had too much of this. Its absolutely ridiculous that I've spent a good amount on two items that are terrible and the fact that I have too much left, I'm left on not know what to do. This needs to be fixed, as I have done research that I'm not the only one this has happened to. Needless to say, I will never by any READY products again. Very disappointed!!
Very Nice Foundation
Love the natural colors & that the coverage can be controlled to what is needed for each occasion. Smooth finish & no-makeup feel. Covers imperfections beautifully.
I have recently been making the switch from loose to Ready for the sake of convenience, due to my make up routine getting quite extensive. I also wanted to find a solid foundation without dimethicone in it. There are very few make up products out there without dimethicone, and ladies, it is NOT good for your skin! You may get the glowey, dewey look from it now, but in the long run, it is not worth it. BE truly is great about putting ingredients that are good for your skin in their products. I have been a long time BE matte user--matte is amazing, flawless, gorgeous and perfect for my oily skin type. I was about to send back the Ready foundation when using the precision face brush because I got more coverage than I wanted to. I also was shade matched incorrectly at first. I discovered two things in this process: use the new tapered face brush with the Ready foundation if you want light to medium coverage. If you want heavier coverage, use the precision face brush. Also, the Ready seems to be a tid bit lighter than the "equivalent" matte or original shades--you may need to take the shade a notch darker if you decide to use this. My only disappointment is that it is not more mattifying.
The best foundation ever!
I've had moderate acne my whole life, and have never found a foundation that will give me the coverage I need. I've tried everything, even the priciest liquids and creams, with no results. But then, I found Ready. I can't believe that this natural, mineral-based powder gives me full, flawless coverage! It's truly the greatest foundation I've ever used, and my skin clarity has even improved since I've started using it. I would recommend it to anyone!
Great for anyone new to BareMinerals
I used to wear drugstore makeup brands (cream and liquid foundations) and when I was introduced to BareMinerals, I started out wearing Original Matte Foundation and had a hard time with how light the coverage was unless I did 3-4 applications. Then I found READY foundation and I love it! It provides great coverage that is still light and breathable.
My only concern/recommendation: be sure to use a brush like the Precision Face brush rather than something like the Flawless Face brush. You'll get much fuller coverage and more product on the brush (I was wasting tons of product using the Flawless Face brush!)
More on the Color Match Problem
I have used BE exclusively for many years, and the loose foundation in Medium Beige is perfect. When Ready was introduced, I ordered it in that shade. This was before suggestions began to appear that your regular shade might be too light. It really was and looked chalky and mask-like on my face totally unlike what I am used to from BE. I recently ordered another in Medium Tan, and it is PERFECT, not like makeup at all-just pretty skin. Unfortunately, I have an almost new Medium Beige compact, but it was worth it. I will continue to use my loose foundation at home, but the Ready is great to keep in your purse and for travel.
I've been using a different brand for years and decided to try BE because of the reviews. I was color matched to golden tan but when I got into my car I checked it was too dark. So I exchange it and was suggested to try medium tan and I was told I can't use anything lighter than what they gave me. Unfortunately, I still think it's a little dark so I just returned the foundation.
Bad color match!
Love the texture, the staying power, but the color is totally wrong, way too yellow. I suppose I chose wrongly, but I followed their suggestion for the shade. I would love to try again, but don't want to make another expensive mistake.
It ends here.
I'm 50 and I am having the best skin of my life. I can not begin to explain the amazing results I am benefitting from the Bare Minerals line of skin care and make up. Regarding the new Ready make up... I have incorporated into my (growing) BM collection to cover up the dark spots on my face. I just received the primer with tint/SPF and, together, I look perfectly natural, everything I want my skin to be.
Goodbye Liquid Foundation…Hello bareMinerals
I have ALWAYS been a liquid foundation girl. I NEVER EVER buy from the drug store. It is always top shelf foundation. The more expensive the better, right? WRONG…… On a whim I decided to try bareMinerals foundation. Not really expecting to like it but I had nothing to lose. I just got it today and can not believe I have not tried it until today. I can say I'm officially a bareMinerals girl. The coverage is superb and feels great on my skin. My complexion looks flawless. I can't wait to "get ready" tomorrow morning:)
I love this foundation!!
I wanted to purchase this foundation when it first came out. I read the reviews and decided I would need to be color tested since the colors were not the same. I did like that it had a little more moisture, because I have a few dry, flakey patches. I do not live close to a place to try it, so it did take me some time.
It was worth the wait! I went to a mall with a Bare Escentuals Boutique and was color matched. I started using it on a regular basis. I love the coverage and the way it feels.
I do recommend the color matching service. The color you need may not be what you would choose. I would have picked a much different color. The colors are NOT at all like the powder foundations.
You might need to play with application a bit, to get it right.
The coverage is a little more than the powder. It contains maybe a little more moisture, but is not greasy or oily in any way! I could use a tad more moisture (I want to try the Hydrating Mineral Veil). It has a powdery finish.
Took a bit of practice, but well worth it.
At first I tried to put it on like I put the original makeup. I didn't believe that I only had to pat the brush into the makeup 2 or 3 times. Once I started to follow the directions, patting the brushing twice in makeup and then applying on my face in swirling motions, I was hooked!
It gives my face a "dewy" look and covers beautifully. If the weather is hot and humid, I do use Mineral Veil first before applying makeup. Hope this helps.
I LOVE it!
Although I was hesitant to move away from the matte foundation, I do not regret the decision to switch! This foundation is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I apply using the precision brush and it goes on smooth and doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup. I have a very oily forehead while around my mouth is dry and it covers it all up perfectly! BUY IT! Also, it lasts a very very long time and I use mine every day!
Love it, but came up with my own technique
I love this foundation, but I couldn't get any of the brush techniques to work for me. I have dry skin, so the only way I could get this to work is to put on my sunscreen, and while my face is still very moist from the sunscreen, I swipe my fingers across the compact and gently rub it into my skin. The foundation seems to become one with my skin. I love the finish -- not matte and not shiny -- but dewey and fresh. It looks and feels like I'm not wearing anything, but of course I look better than au natural.
I travel a lot and this is perfect since I can carry it on with no problems and it's not as messy as the loose powders. I am disappointed to read that people's compacts are breaking up and falling apart -- that would stink because the convenience is having it in a compact. So far mine is fine -- maybe using my fingers makes it wear more evenly..
Best coverage ever, love it,
The powder is better.
The colors also do not match which was my biggest problem with it. I wear Medium Beige in the powder and it's perfect. This stuff is about one shade too light. I was color matched at Sephora and they advised the Medium Beige in the Ready Foundation was the best match for me. It seemed fine, until I looked in my car mirrors while outside in daylight. I took it back and switched it for the powder. If the colors matched perfectly like the powder, I would've tried using it longer.
I have 2 red, blemishes and it did seem to cover them up better than the powder and concealer brush..but since this is the only thing new I have used, this product might actually have given them to me in the first place. I saw another reviewer also mention breakouts since using it. It might even be good as a concealer underneath the powder.
I bought this thinking it'd be like other compacts that typically come with some kind of brush making it super easy to use while on the go. Nobody at Sephora mentioned that it doesn't. Not being easy to use on the go kind of defeats the purpose for me. You still have to kind of tap it and make a mess everywhere.
I loved it at first too
Although I don't think it lived up to its selling point of "lasting 12 hours," like the person in the salon told me, I did like the even coverage at first, especially with the new brush designed for it. First one was about 1/2 way gone when I dropped it, and it broke. OK, I figured I'd have to be more careful. Now that I'm 1/2 way through the second one, and the center is getting thinner, and this one cracked into pieces, without dropping it. Now it's impossible to use without wasting a lot of it! Too bad, I like the first 1/2 each time, but at $27, I can't really afford to throw 1/2 away.
I wanted to love it....
I really loved this product at first. I loved it so much I went out and bought another one; 1 for home and 1 for the gym. The one in my gym bag gets tossed around a little bit and cracked and started falling out when opened, making a huge mess of small foundation pieces, I had to toss it. The one at home I dropped a few inches into the sink and has now suffered the same fate. I think it just breaks too easily and when it does break, it breaks into a million different pieces and cannot be salvaged.
Going back to the original powder
I tried this on in a Bare Minerals store and loved it at first because the color was perfect and had great coverage. However the gal at the counter did tell me the colors are different from the powders. I am a light in the original powder and a med beige in this product. Once I got it home and continued using it I had more breakouts then I have had in the past 10 years. My skin seemed more oily from using this product, I normally have combination skin. I am still young so I don't really have wrinkles but yet the cakeyness of this foundation would create lines on my face. It does have good coverage if you have blemishes, but it was creating more zits and blemishes. I am going back to the original powder. I didn't have any of these issues with that product. I also dropped the compact on the floor within the first week. So it crumbled making it extremely hard to not make a giant mess/waste product, this is one pro to the powder because if I drop it its already in a powder form.
