Q & A

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 265 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Daily I use this every single day after I apply my foundation. I love the glow it gives my face. I won't wear makeup if I don't have my Veil! 07/24/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheer perfection I was late to the wonder of Mineral Veil until my daughter talked me into trying it. At 62, with fine, thin aging skin, I thought it would be too "ghostly" and drying also concerned about accentuating fine lines. Could not have been more wrong! Everything about this powder is right on target and I use both the luminous and the matte, depending on the particular look I am doing. I have touted this to friends who have tried, and purchased the BM line. Great appearance and my skin actually feels better with extended use. I use the ready compact for travel touch ups. 07/17/2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's ok I purchased this product to use for a finishing powder. It's not like other brands I've used. It made my skin appear dry and it settled in every fine line. I absolutely love the Perfecting Veil. So I decided to give this a try. My skin is mostly oily /combination. So it making my skin appear dry was crazy considering I don't lack in moisture that much. Plus it felt very heavy. 07/14/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect I have been using veil for 7 years now and I will never use anything else (except other BE products). I am a light skinned person and I mix a bit of tinted Mineral Veil with my regular one to match the faux tan on my body. You see a lot of 'veils' out there, hoping to copy Mineral Veil but no one comes close. It hides imperfections (read: wrinkles and freckles) and gives a stunning finish on your face. Don't buy the wannabee's. Buy the real thing. 07/14/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great finishing powder! I love Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. A little goes a long way so the product last awhile which is good considering the price. I ordered the illuminating veil online and did not realize it has a sparkly finish to it. I would recommend using a little and buffing it into the skin to help limit the sparkly finish. All in all, it's a great product. 07/10/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for oily skin This is the perfect product for oily skin especially in the summertime. I use it first under my mineral powder foundation and then lastly after all makeup is applied for a flawless look. 07/09/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it I struggle with my makeup separating where my glasses rest on my nose, I use this on a small concealer brush and pat over my foundation around my nose and it last all day. I also use this as an all over setting powder and think it blends beautifully. I only have a sample at the moment but definitely plan on purchasing a full size. 06/18/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mineral veil This is the best! ... looks so natural and adds a beautiful finish! I have been using this product for years ... and am most satisfied! 06/02/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The finishing touch The Mineral Veil provides that "THING" at the end that just makes everything else work. It blends everything and provides a glow in one easy step. 05/18/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Review of Hydrating Veil Only I love original Mineral Veil. I'm 55 years old and my skin benefits from extra moisture, so I thought that Hydrating Mineral Veil would be a good fit. Unfortunately, it has a thick, shiny quality that highlights wrinkles and fine lines. It looks a little like I'm wearing the kind of liquid foundation that stopped using years ago when I switched to Bare Minerals. I'll be switching back to the original formula Mineral Veil. Also, the powder is so fine that it goes *everywhere* as soon as I open the container and try to apply it. I'm also disappointed because Hydrating Mineral Veil is SPF 20. 05/17/2016

I was worried about this too but I have not found this to be the case. This product is so light that it doesn't emphasize any flaws.

Answer:
It depends on the shade of powder and the amount of application. I am 46 and take really good care of my skin. I hydrate every morning and night. I still have some irritating wrinkles! I use Bare Minerals and love it. I think that any makeup can make a person's wrinkles or flaws look bad. It depends on Shade and application. I think the Mineral Veil gives even mature skin a nice glow and doesn't magnify wrinkles any more than any other makeup.

I just finished up a HUGE container of "Tinted Feather Light Mineral Veil" that my mother in law gave me years ago. I immediately stopped using my regular Mineral Veil once I tried it. It has a subtle sparkle and gives truly, utterly flawless coverage over my medium beige powder foundation. I want to replace it, but there isn't a Mineral Veil by the same name. The new "Tinted" Mineral Veil is described as "feather light," but the "Illuminating" Mineral Veil is described as having that subtle sparkle. Do I need to use both to achieve the same look as my old Mineral Veil?!

Have you tried Mineral Veil? I use it as a last step because it seems to pull your face together and just kind of perfect it! Like airbrushing or filter effect for your complexion. I don't get that same result from Radiances. Those are more like a highlighter, give more of like a glow which I like but wouldn't call it a can't-live-without. MV definitely is!

I have VERY oily skin and I'm still in high school, so it's embarrassing to "casually" wipe the excess oil on your nose or forehead. (I get oily mainly in the "t-zone"). How long does this product mattify you're skin and what's the best way to use this so the mattification lasts longer?

Answer:
I have very oily skin as well and the translucent mineral veil really helps! It last around 6 hours before I have to touch up my t-zone area from being shiny. I would recommend using the oil control primer, mineral foundation in matte, and then the translucent mineral veil.

I also have oily skin, so i have found that after i use my primer i buff on this mineral veil then my foundation then the mineral veil again. i usually have oily problems through the day at my hair line, and around my nose, but it seems to help keep it at bay. but remember honey, every one is different. i would atleast give it a try, but for me it seems to work all day.

I've tried the tinted and it left a dull layer on my skin. I then tried the illuminating mineral veil and really loved how it left a glow, but the glow is very light for my medium to tan complexion. Any advice? Should I try to mix the two together?

Try putting a quarter into the grove on the back lid. Pry it up and put product in, place the lid back down and carefully push it into place.

I've tried this before and wouldn't recommend it. For some reason it doesn't work very well with the Bare Minerals foundation overtop. Plus, it looks gorgeous as a finisher!

I would still recommend using a primer, but yes! Applying Mineral Veil under your foundation will really help keep oily shine away for the day.

Yes, you can apply it before the foundation. I like to do this in the Summer months as an extra oil barrier.

I've had many sales associates at the boutiques suggest using the mineral veil (either ready or original) as a FIRST step before foundation esp if you have oily skin.

What happened to the very light weight, colorless, hydrating Mineral Veil?? It was awesome! Because it was so light weight and colorless, you could do quick touch ups all the time without worry of "piling it on".
