READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Eh, not the best
I had really high hopes for this product and I really wanted to like it. I got it as a less messy alternative to the original foundation. Additionally, my skin was feeling really dry so the hydrating benefits were also appealing. Unfortunately, this foundation was really disappointing. It settles into the fine lines of my face and I get really oily in my T-zone using it. When my T-zone gets oily this foundation instantly breaks down and looks horrible. I get maybe an hour or 2 of good wear out of it. Mind you, I have combination-oily skin in the summer, I am far from an oil slick, and this product made me look like a grease ball.
I have been using Bare Minerals for over 14 years now and have always loved it. When they first came out with the Ready Foundation I bought it and was very happy with the product. However, when I ran out and went to buy a new Ready Foundation the product had been changed. I tried two different compacts and had the same result: could not load the brush...are you kidding me? Why would you change a good product and produce something so inferior? In order to use makeup you actually have to be able to get it on your face. I'm so disappointed in the Ready Foundation.
light medium ready foundation
I love this product because it has great coverage as well as it is easy to use and lasts long. However, I have been using it for 2 months now and I began to notice that it's making my skin oily. I may have to switch to the loose powder.
It's not a terrible foundation. Very easy to use once you know the proper technique. But it's not something that I would repurchase. In fact I returned it to the BM Boutique b/c I didn't like the way it felt. It felt like I had a mask on my face. It felt like my skin couldn't breathe. What I like about BE is that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup. This felt like I was wearing makeup. I did use the proper technique, which I learned from the online video posted on BE.com.
I also feel like the coverage isn't that great. I need a foundation that will do some of the leg work for covering problematic spots. It's good for non problematic skin (like my cheeks, jaw, and nose which is clear of any acne or spots), but for the places that aren't nice and clear (like my chin & forehead where I have dark hyper-pigmentation spots from acne scarring) it doesn't do a thing. I purchased the Warm Dark (R470) if that helps give anyone a clue towards my coloring (I would say I'm around Kerry Washington or Taraji P Henson's complexion with a warm undertone). I end up going between the Tan & Dark color range depending on the foundation (in Bareskin I use Bare Almond 16, in Matte & Original I use Golden Tan).
I switched it out for the Bareskin Foundation in Bare Almond 16 & the Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Amber 10 (this one is exclusive to Sephora). The two of these together really nicely for me.
Hopefully this helped someone.
Medium tan ready foundation
I have owned bare minerals for years and when the ready foundation became popular. the last 3 medium tan ready foundations I have purchased are not good. At first when the shiny looking hardened formation formed on the top and the color was not going onto the brush I made a formal complaint to the place I bought it from. I considered a fluke and bought a second one. At this time I also bought a new foundation brush and thought maybe that would help. Again it happened. I purchased yet a 3rd try and it also does this. I own other shades and they do not do this. I love the medium tan for summer but am extremely angry about what happens to it. I literally had to chip it and use it when I loosened it up. One of the places I purchased it from said that they changed the stuff they make it with. Then why did the other shades not do this????
I have tried two different shades R250 first which was to light and looked very yellow then ordered R310 and also looks very yellow. The coverage is GREAT however just can't find the right shade I have wasted my $$. Sure wish the company would sell a small sample kit to try the shades. I have to order online and not able to go directly to a store.
I love the Ready foundation. I use the Flawless Application face brush and hardly have to use any. It covers any redness without looking like I have any makeup on at all. It took a few tries to get color-matched correctly, but I finally found the perfect color (Medium).
Love this product.
I have been using Bare Escentuals for about 10 years. I always used the loose powder foundation and loved it until I tried the pressed powder foundation. It has great coverage. I always had problems with other makeups breaking me out. Not with this even if I fail to take it off at night. Plus, this is a lot less messy than the loose powder. Totally love it!
Love this foundation
Wonderful easy to apply foundation. Great build able coverage. Not cakey or creasing. Feels light on my sensitive skin. Looks like I'm not wearing foundation which I love. And for a powder foundation not drying at all and doesn't accentuate fine lines and pores. Love this!
Works great, covers nicely. Gets kind of smeary in the summer when I sweat, creates lines. Do NOT drop the compact--it will shatter open and the powder will explode all over the floor.
I was a makeup artist and I loved the loose powder for years but it did not cover my port wine stain birthmark which covers my entire jawline and chin. This does it and evens out my skin tone quickly and flawlessly. Great for photography work and business videos. Application is key to using the right amount as is prepping your skin-- cleaned, moisturized and primed. Lasts all day. I use a flat brush. Get your color match - err on the side of darker than what you see in the compact. It works so well I always add bronzer to contour and color. I'm 46 and have dry skin with light acne breakouts. This foundation hides it all :)
I've tried many other foundation powders but keep coming back to Ready. It's the perfect coverage for day or night. Amazing!
My name is Alfanette, I am 52 years old and I have used MAC for over 12 years. But I recently found that MAC has many chemicals. I searched for months for a new line I can use for my skin. Bare MInerals is AMAZING. It feels light, the coverage is great and no chemicals. WIN-WIN. I will be a Bare MInerals partner for years to come. A very Happy customer.
I started using bare minerals in January. I went into the store because I'm not a girly girl I never wore make up but here lately I've wanted to be more girly I tried a few liquid foundations but I wasn't happy I have acne scars and although this doesn't completely cover them I am very pleased with the coverage I feel 100% more confident than I ever have!
love this product.
I used bare minerals 10 years ago and left. (Not sure why). But I am obsessed with all bare minerals. It is all I use. Anyway this is my holy grail everyday foundation and I love it. If you don't have this get it today. Highly recommended.
Best Foundation Ever!
I've never met a foundation that 100% pleased me until I finally tried Bare Minerals Matte pressed powder foundation.
I have to apply full coverage but even so - it is so lightweight and silky that I forget I'm wearing makeup!
I have a lot of freckles and spots I don't like and this makeup feels sheer, yet it hides most of those flaws.
I honestly can't imagine that I'll ever change foundations again. I was disappointed that I went to Sephora and they didn't have the pressed powder foundation in Medium Cool. I was told Bare Minerals stopped producing them due to low sales - everyone wants the loose powder. Well, actually, that's wrong. I'm not everyone. I much prefer the pressed powder and hope it will remain available!
Great coverage and holds moisture.
I loved the bare minerals original but as I have aged over the last few years my skin has become very dry with more discoloration. I switched to the Ready Foundation to get more coverage and because it was marketed as more moisturizing. Learning the application technique was a little tricky for me. I learned that you must use the Precision Face Brush and pat the foundation all over before smoothing in long strokes to get the best coverage and most flawless look. I have eczema and this definitely helps keep moisture in my sensitive skin and it gives my skin a more youthful appearance.
I love it!!
This product is amazing. I recently bought this at Ulta and I've never boughten powder before until I bought this product. Literally amazing, although its a bit smelly, yet the powder itsself is absolutly incrediable!!
Good at first, not worth it in the end
I initially bought this because i had heard great things about this product line. I usually use a liquid foundation and i just wanted to get away from that, so i tried this powder foundation. It goes on very nicely (esp. with the recommended brush). However, after about 3-4 hours, it does something very funny on my skin. It sorts of settles in and then creates 'lines' of make-up, where i naturally have lines on my face (i.e. from my nose to my mouth, under my eyes). Then where i do not have lines, it sort of became dotted, or speckled i guess. You could see where the foundation had settled into my pores.
Unfortunate because it starts off nicely. I will be returning this product though :(
Great, but keeps me oily
I love this when I put it on. It feels like silk, but 2 hours into my day I'm checking my face for oil. I do love this product but unfortunately keeps me very oily. If you have oily skin this isn't the product for you. If not, it'll be your best friend!
I have been using the original bare minerals powder for about 10 years and it worked great ! But as time went by, I started to age of course lol. I needed more coverage and something faster than the swirl, tap and buff. I have found it Ladies ! After reading reviews for a long time, I finally decided to try this foundation. Ignore the negative reviews because I honestly can't see why it's not working for them. It goes on flawlessly without leaving horrible lines or non covered blotches on face. It may seem expensive but its really not because it last a very long time. I like full coverage and it still doesn't take much to get the coverage I want. It takes years off your appearance. I do use a primer under my foundation and I wear it for over 12 hours and its still as good as when I put it on. I had wore it to bed one night just to see how it would hold up because the original one would be rubbed off by the morning, however, the ready foundation was still put and looked great ! This is a pure miracle for us women. My husband even loves how natural it looks. Please try this foundation ladies because it will change your view of makeup. I love it so much that I want to buy another one right now and I'm not even close to being out . What a great product Bare Minerals ! Please don't ever discontinue this product. I'm in love...
So Glad I Found My Holy Grail
I went shopping with my daughter at an outlet mall with plans to go to a regular mall and hit the BE boutique. I looked up and there was a Bareescentuals! Years ago I had tried the regular powder but was never able to get the right match. With the addition of three different foundations and/or colors I thought I'd give it another try. I've used liquid foundations for years, but at 59 my makeup needs have changed. I wanted buildable coverage that was quick and easy so thought I'd try the new serum foundation. The rep had me try the Ready and I was hooked. Color was perfect, coverage was perfect and the Precision brush was perfect. When I got home I played some more - one side of my face light coverage, the other side medium. Easy to do and even the medium gave me a natural even glow. I then went on to full coverage and while you could tell I had makeup on it was an even finish that did not look overdone. My super dry skin did not look cakey and had a lovely satiny-matte finish before I even put on blush or highlighter. Love this product. I'm back to BE!
Great long lasting coverage
. I am 21 and have been wearing Bare minerals for 5 years now. Anytime something new is out I am always excited to try it. This foundation is the best at long lasting full coverage. BUT!! It tends to make my smile lines stand out even with the primer. I have also tried the Porefessional under this makeup (for my smile lines) and it still seems to make them stand out. Other than that this makeup is great!!
I have been a loyal BM shopper since it started on QVC only. I liked the loose foundation but being a natural accident prone/mess making person it was always getting spilled and wasted. I was so excited when this first came out and have been using ever since. Using the brush made for it is important. If you use the old loose foundation brush with the solid foundation it goes on very thick and cakey. I have greasy skin/acne prone and this product does not aggravate it at all. I have also tried the new liquid foundation and have come back to the solid.
Not worth your money.....
I recently visited my dermatologist, who subjected me to a twenty minute rant about how basically all drugstore and most high-end makeup is terrible for the skin. He then gave me a "list" of products I could use ( the only things on the list were Bare MInerals and Almay). Therefore, I immediately went to my local makeup store to purchase a Bare Minerals foundation. First of all, no bare mineral foundation actually serves more than one function (i.e. one mattified, but had no coverage, while another had coverage but was terrible for oily skin). I finally decided on this foundation, because, as a worker told me,"well, it doesn't add any extra oil to the skin, and it has medium coverage". When I put it on, it was cakey, powdery, and completely unnatural looking. It settled into my pores, even though I had used Bare Mineral's oil and pore eliminating primer (another failure), leaving me with a polka-dotted yellowish face. Unfortunately, this is one of my only options for foundation, so I have to get used to it :(
I'm loving this more and more. I wasn't so sure at first because I was using too much product. All it takes is one tap and then long swipes across my face with the precision face brush. I do one layer like that, repeating the one tap at a time until my face is covered, then I go back with the regular face brush and add a little just to the spots that need it. I have very fair skin and Medium R210 is perfect for me. (I'm 53 with sensitive, dryish skin.) I'm so happy I gave this a try!
Great for Touch Ups!
I bought this product hoping to have my favorite foundation more readily available to me at work, since I work anywhere from 8 to 10 hour shifts. And it is a high-pace environment, so sweat happens. The product is small enough to fit in my small hand-purse (it is literally a hand-purse), and it works great for the touch ups I need to do. I bought BM travel-size face brush, and I use it with the READY foundation. However, the only complaint is I feel like a lose a lot of product due to the nature of the brush. I wish I had a better applicator for READY foundation. Other than that though, the coverage is great and portable for sure!
Pls don't ever discontinue or change this product!
Let me first start by saying that I hope the READY Foundation never gets discontinued or changed. This is a quality product that has changed my view of foundation.
~THE FEEL OF THIS PRODUCT..... When I apply this foundation it feels like I have nothing on my face. I often times forget I'm wearing it because it feels like my natural skin. This is something I love as I am not a big foundation wearer. My husband always tells me he likes me without foundation but when I wear READY bare minerals foundation he told me he likes it equally as well as my bare face look... That makes me happy.. :)
~MY SKINS RESPONSE TO THIS FOUNDATION..... I have dry, sensitive skin that likes to crack and get dry blotches when I wear any foundation. It also is very prone to breakouts and bumps when I use foundation. I have tried countless foundations and I've always been bitterly disappointed with my skins response to them... I.e. breakouts and dry cracked skin... I have been using bare minerals READY foundation for about a month now and I can wholeheartedly and honestly say my skin has actually IMPROVED since wearing it. I have the clearest skin that I've had in years and my skin has a subtle glow that I am loving. So if I decide not the wear foundation on some days I'm proud to show my healthy skin
~APPLICATION AND PACKAGING..... Applying this product is simple in my opinion. I use a sigma f80 flat top kabuki brush... As long as you have a dense flat top brush you can get a beautiful finish. Be light handed when dipping into the product. Place brush on product and very lightly push(don't swirl!!!!) then apply to 1section of your face at a time in long soft strokes again not swirling your brush on your face either. Get more product in same manner as previously stated. Do this in layers until you build up to the coverage you desire. It's quick and surprisingly easy. Blends beautifully and only takes a few minutes. Packaging is beautiful and sleek. Easy to carry and non-messy.
~OVERALL SUMMARY... Great product. I will continue to purchase as long as they don't discontinue it or change it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Definitely get color matched as the colors aren't the same as their other foundations. My holy grail foundation because it doesn't cause me ANY breakouts, looks airbrushed and flawless, light and natural felling, gives me a little boost of confidence, and actually improves my natural skin.
Hope this is helpful!!:)
I love this stuff!
I am tempted to buy this stuff in bulk because Im so scared they'll discontinue it! I love love love my Ready makeup! I've used the original Bare Minerals before, but I gave up on it because it got messy and the amount I'd see on the counter made me think half of it was going down the drain, even though the coverage was flawless!
Fast forward 2-3 years later. After using acne-assisting liquid makeup and still suffering from breakouts and even getting really expensive specialty makeup for acne that exacerbated the problem worse than over the counter stuff (not to mention no matter what shade I picked you could always tell I was wearing makeup!), I decided to try one last investment.
I chose Ready makeup because it promised full coverage with ease of application, and that it is! You just do that little easy tap-tap and voila! Beautiful coverage, no make-up lines! And I literally don't have to wash my face before bed (in case I forget or I'm so exhausted I can't pry myself out of bed) and I wake up and my sensitive face has no blemishes and no yuck makeup transfer everywhere!
AND! It's so much less messy than liquid foundation! You don't get your hands all gunky as you start your day!
I will say that I like to think I'm fair skinned, but the light neutral version (R170), while blending in flawlessly, looks a little too light for my skin per my husband, even though I tried my best to shade match via the Internet. I ordered the medium neutral version last night (r250) so I'll try that out. If worse comes to worse, I can always blend. But I'm content with what I have and a bronzer so we'll see!
The precision face brush is a must have with this product. It's expensive, but an investment (you'll never have to buy it again)! And the videos that show you how to use this product are short and informational. Very helpful!
I'm SO excited. Im spending about twice as much as I was on drug store brands (and actually less than department store brands),but the pay off has been such a blessing. Worth every penny. Because I can't tell you how much I've spent on different foundations, acne cleansers, etc just to not use them.
This product works GREAT over a normal moisturizer after dried. If you like eye shadow, it does not show up as well as it does on a liquid base (which is like its own primer), so a good idea would be to get the eyeshadow primer.
Amazing, skin-nurturing, easily portable, non-messy beauty! Ohhhh I love this stuff!
GREAT JOB BARE MINERALS! You're worth ALL the hype! Please don't stop making my makeup!
I have been using BM original loose formula for 10 years now but I feel like I need more coverage and was tired of the messy powder.. I tried the new bareskin liquid and it was a fail , to greasy and light coverage, I felt like it never set :(
I wear shade med-biege in the loose BM , I ordered" Med-tan R3310" and it was an okay color match, to light--- but I really liked the coverage with pressed powder!! It really covered any red areas and the hyper-pigmentation !!I don't need to wear concealer!! I can work out and sweat and my make up is still on! The compact lasted only 5 weeks-- bummer because it so expensive!
Next time around I ordered a shade darker " Golden Tan R330" and it a perfect match!! YAY!!!
I really love the pressed powder it just cost more and I run out faster versus BM powder..
