bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
skeptic turned believer
i was never into this line of makeup because i felt like the infomercials were overly dramatic. my mom brought me home a sample of this foundation, not only did the color blend seamlessly with my skin tone but its so soft and doesn't sink into any pores or lines. i honestly was like wooooaaa omg. my skin looks airbrushed. lol i sound like one of the infomercials i was so against.
Easy to Use Liquid Makeup
I only use bareMinerals makeup, so I was very excited to try the new liquid serum. Overall, I love the liquid. Just two small drops and my whole face is covered. I have used this new liquid makeup since it first came out and I still have plenty left. It is definitely worth the price. My only disclaimer is that it does tend to get oily throughout the day even with matte powder over top of it. This may be due to my naturally oily skin as well, however I have found that while I wear this makeup I do have to apply extra powder during the day to keep it looking matte and not shiny. Great product! I will buy this again.
Love this foundation for nights out
I am an avid user and lover BE original loose foundation in fair. When this liquid foundation came out I had to give it a try, so i got it in Bare Porcelain 01. The color match was perfect- very fair skin with pink undertones, this is awesome. The most noticeable thing for me was the shine-factor. This stuff has a gorgeous luminous finish, but that means you really have to watch out for some excessive shine throughout the day/night and keep some blotting paper/powder available for touch ups. For this reason I tend to only wear this foundation more for nights out/special events/short outings.
so good so far
I have worn this foundation twice and so far i am liking it! I have oily skin but don't enjoy super matte finishes. This product leaves my skin more dewy than matte without making me look oily. I was able to wear it for about 6 hours before it needed any touch ups. Its definitely worth the money!
What a difference!
I am not an avid make up user, as a matter of fact until now I have only ever purchased drug store foundation. Recently my acne has been getting so obnoxious, and I do not want to look like a teenager as I get ready to graduate from college. I had several friends recommend Bare Minerals. When I walked into the store I was incredibly clueless, a sales associate demonstrated the liquid foundation and I was hooked. My blemishes and red spots disappear and the coverage is so light and silky. I really do feel like I'm not wearing any make-up at all!
The perfect foundation is bareSkin
I love bareSkin. Just four drops into the perfecting brush and I have full coverage that lasts all day!
It goes on effortlessly and does not clog my pores. Its honestly like you have nothing on.
After I apply the foundation I use the bareMinearls ready bronzer and apply a touch of mineral veil and my skin stays perfect all day.
I just switched to bareMinerals makeup and I could not be happier. It defintely is worth it compared to the typical makeup you buy at the store.
Brush not included!
I just recently purchased this in the store, and while the product itself seems to be nice, the brush that they tell you is ESSENTIAL is an additional cost! I was really disappointed to get home and find out that I had to go back and buy a new brush when I could have stuck with the powder and used my old one.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS MAKEUP. I'M 53 IT'S GREAT!!
I've been using Bare Minerals for years in the Powder form. When I saw this new liquid serum, I just had to try it.
UNBELIEVABLE, SUPERNATURAL, WOW does my skin like this makeup. All I can say is you just have to try it. I'm so happy with this liquid serum feeling of sheer buildable makeup. It only takes a minute to apply it perfectly and I'm shocked at the way it hides fine lines, discolorations and gives a truly moist appearance.
THIS IS A SUPER HIT FOR ME. I know during the winter, I'm going to be using this everyday......I sometimes add a touch of the Bare Minerals Powder to add a special tone but this makeup is SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY to anything I've ever tried.
I'm going to get a couple colors as it's so blendable and easy to use. I can pull off all types of looks with it.
Thank you Bare Minerals for figuring out how I can wear makeup that is corrective and good for my skin, allows the moisture that I look for sometimes in a make up and leaves you looking flawless in just a minute or two.
I've never liked liquid foundation but this is so light, that once you put it on, you just look perfect with no fuss and no mess.
My face has been in Bare Minerals hands for about 10 years now and at 53, it's just amazing how amazing my skin looks. I will always use it as it's a youth product. (as in fountain of youth)!! I added some pix so you can see. I'm wearing the new liquid makeup today with very little else on my face. Heck, I forgot to moisturize....it's great .
So disappointed - Very bad for oily skin
Just like all the other reviewers with oily skin or some fine lines on their face, I've found that this foundation is terrible for my skin. It sinks into my pores and makes them stand out brightly. It looks oily in some spots, and I have to blot off the shine, and then it makes the rest of my face look dry like I have dead skin all over it or some sort of powder (but not the good kind). I love bare minerals, and I was excited to try this, but it is DEFINITELY NOT FOR OILY SKIN!
BareMinerals never disappoints!
I love this foundation. I've been using original BareMinerals for the last 11 years. After using it for so long, I couldn't stand the feel of liquid or creme foundation on my face, but recently was put on a cpap machine for sleep apnea. The mask makes my nose red and sometimes the skin flakes off. The original mineral makeup of course concealed it just fine, but my skin doesn't want to hold on to it like it used to, just on my nose. When the new bareSkin came out I had to try it. It didn't disappoint. It feels amazing on my skin, I can adjust my coverage as needed, and an added bonus, I don't have to deal with application mess. The brush keeps my hands clean and my application even. I love it!
I have been a Bare Minerals fan for long time. While I do love the powder foundation, it didn't seem to have the all-day staying power that this new Bare Skin Foundation does. I feel you do need to apply a good moisturizer and I also use the a Prime Time primer, which I think really helps to apply the foundation and apply a good hold. Also, a little goes a long way. I do use the "medium" Bare Minerals powder foundation as a spot concealer before applying the foundation, since it matches my skin tone perfectly. I use the 06 foundation and can also use 07 as well, although 06 is more of a perfect match. I feel it has brightened my completion a little and my lines do not show as much, as well.
Great job on this foundation!
I live in Florida and wanted my skin to look healthy and moist, not powdered. I wear only the mineral veil and have always avoided foundation so i was very hesitant. This product has no fragrance which i consider positive. It is almost scentless and i dont consider the smell offensive in the least. After reading reviews, i decided purchasing the brush was a must. The mineral veil smudges so i have to buy a setting spray. To avoid the same issue with the foundation, i bought the brightening primer (hesitant once again to introduce another layer of make up). LOVE IT! The primer, application brush, and foundation work great together and achieve EXACTLY the look i was going for.
1 drop of the primer is plenty but i have been using 4 drops of foundation (2 drops, 2 applications).
I went into the boutique for a color match. I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It covers any age spots and broken capillaries. It is also so easy to apply. Thank you!
Not for my senior skin!
Have been using BM products for 14 years and prefer the original foundation for my skin.
Tried the new liquid and found the new bottle difficult to squeeze product out. After several days was able to get some drops out. Wanted to give the new product a fair trail on my skin so kept using it. Always felt greasy even though two drops was more that enough for coverage. Also had to order two different colors to try and match my skin tone. Now the bottles are messy and the liquid comes out too fast. Product runs out the top and gets all over! I have dry skin and minor wrinkles. The original foundation with Mineral Veil makes my skin look great. Just couldn't get over the greasy feel of the liquid.
Will remain a satisfied customer with the old products.
Just what I needed
this perfect! I love bare minerals original mineral foundation. I learned about it from my mom when I was looking for makeup during prom season last year. I always loved the original, but I always loved the moisturizing feel of a liquid foundation. When Bare minerals came out with this pure brightening serum foundation I was ecstatic! I have a lot of discoloration and some dark marks and acne scars that make me feel self conscious. I have combination skin some parts of my face are super dry other parts are oily, this product makes my face look and feel completely balanced. This product is FLAWLESS. All I can say is-- Thank you Bare Minerals from the bottom of my heart.
Go in and try it before you buy it!
I love this brand of make-up, however this particular item is not suited to my skin type. I think my skin is just too dry- and no matter how much I scrub and hydrate before hand I can't seem to get this to look like I don't have flaky skin when I wear this. I would definitely recommend going into a store and trying this out before you drop any money on it. Lesson learned.
New to Foundation
I haven't ever worn foundation before so when I went to the Bare Minerals store I was nervous about anything being to heavy on my skin. Long story short, I'm so happy with how this makeup looks-- never cakey, great coverage, but never feels like I'm wearing makeup. I even use it on a concealer brush to add an extra layer on my undereye areas and on any blemishes and dark spots. Highly recommend! Even better if you can go in store for a shade match.
Not totally satisfied
I like the coverage of this makeup but it makes my skin look oily. My husband even told me my face looked oily. I put my original bare minerals on today and asked him how it looked and he said it looked better, not oily. I used it for over a month and it didn't get any better. I will stick with the original Bare Minerals foundation that I have been using for years.
The only liquid foundation I have EVER liked
I have a large collection of foundations that I have tried. I always hated how large my pores looked with liquid foundation. I only discovered bareminerals a couple of years ago, but I loved all of their products. I started out with the loose powder, fell in love with the ready product line, and was just plain confused when this liquid foundation first hit my local retailer.
I wanted to try it on a whim and at first I hated the product. I thought that it was too greasy and just didn't like how it felt on my skin. I returned it promptly. A few months later I decided to try it again. I figured I would give it a real shot this time. I was amazed at the results! I love how it makes my skin look and feel. I don't see my pores as much anymore and it just makes me feel prettier. I like it better than my powder foundations. You just have to give the foundation a chance, even if you have super oily skin like me. Here is were the problems I found and what I did to solve them:
Too greasy - I put two drops in the brush and dotted in on the part of my face that I was buffing it into. A little went a long way for me. So I used two drops for my cheek area, two for my forehead, one to blend down my jawline and the left over I used on my nose, chin and mouth area. If I needed more on any area I only used one drop.
Melted off my face - I used a primer the second time around. I am currently using the original bareminerals primer and it works like a charm. Also, I use my ready mineral veil in translucent to set the foundation and it lasts all day for me.
Smearing - Honestly the tip above worked for this too, but I will say this: Let your primer sit on your skin a few minutes before you put your foundation on. It will go on smoother and stay in place longer. Also, let your foundation set on your skin for two to five minutes before you start applying anything else to your face. Trust me it helps.
After reading a few of the reviews posted on this product I was a little leery, especially since I have never used liquid foundation. To ensure that I don’t waste a good chunk of money I picked up a free sample to put to the test. This tiny sample has lasted me an entire week and it still is not empty which is great for the time being. I have oil/ combination skin and this foundation did a great job staying put and I didn't feel as though it was caked on. I have yet to notice any changes in my skin, perhaps a bit brighter, but I have been given plenty of compliments, little do friends and family know what truly lies behind this mask of cover-up. The reason behind not giving this product a 5 star is due to the fact that I have to supplement some of the larger and more irritated acne with a dry foundation.
It appears as though everyone is affected differently by this product so I recommend trying out a sample first before buying. It’ll save both time and money.
Great stuff, Bad ODOR
I love this stuff! Goes on a great and leaves a very natural appearance. Covers up all my dark marks and redness, and evens out my skin tone. BUT is it just me, or does it leave a funky smell? I suggest you add on a scent to get to mask that odd odor.
BEST FOUNDATION EVER!
I decided to try this foundation (in Linen) after having used Bare Minerals for quite a few years. I'm 69 and the mineral foundation was not doing as good a job of concealing the little capillaries and redness that seem to get more prominent with age. Even though I still use a small amount of concealer, this foundation covers beautifully! I love the way the brush applies the foundation and just buffing it on is easy (did take a few tries to master that!) I've tried lots of high dollar dept. store foundations but this is THE ONE. Most others irritate my eyes if I applied it too closely to the eyes, but I can brush this right over my eyelids with no problem. There are no cons to this foundation. I had purchased the first from Sephora because I had a gift certificate and when I discovered how much I loved it, I bought another from here (just in case they ran out!) Buy this foundation - you can't go wrong. It's great for my "old skin" and I'm sure it would be perfect for younger skin. Another plus is I don't usually use mineral veil over this - which is amazing in South Louisiana's humid climate.
Purchased bare skin serum, is applicator seperate purchase, very happy with foundation but expected applicator...please advise..thank u
Best. Foundation. Ever.
I have made a habit of avoiding liquid foundations. This is the only exception I've made, and is now the only foundation I will buy. I only need four drops of this foundation to get medium coverage (which I need to cover acne scarring), which is great! Because it goes on so light and smooth, I don't end up getting the "caked on" look halfway through the day. It even stands up to heat and sweat -- I don't feel like it is sliding off my face on my way to school.
It actually matches
I am black/white biracial and because of this I can never find foundation that actually matches my skin tone. This product has revolutionized that. I was able to go into a consultation and buy a new foundation that matches my skin perfectly. It is also light and stays for an entire day. Once you go in and learn how to set your makeup properly, it will not leave your face. This is a consolation must try, and a new personal fav.
This is a great product. I bought it two months ago and have used it quite often (although not every day). The bottle still feels full!
I love this product. It gives great coverage and lasts all day long. Other reviewers have claimed it has made them oily. I've never experienced that. I'm acne prone and this doesn't seem to cause a problem at all.
In fact I love it so much I dragged my little sister (22) into a boutique when we were out. I asked the ladies to test the 2nd to lightest shade on my sister. While they initially disagreed with the shade (thinking 3 or 4) we discovered the 02 shade matched her perfectly and she absolutely LOVED it. She bought their last bottle of her shade and a brush then and there and has used it daily ever since. She has thanked me over a dozen times for dragging her in and making her try it.
I have oily skin and large pores. I never been able to wear liquid makeup without it melting off my face in a couple of hours. Then I tried this new serum foundation. I love the look and feel. I love how easily it goes on. My only complaint is the smell. My husband even commented on the smell when he leaned in to kiss me about an hour after I put it on. I like the natural aspect of this product, but something needs to be done about the smell. A little added fragrance to mask that horrible odor would not go amiss.
I purchased the Bare Minerals bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum foundation and I am very unhappy with it. The foundation just sinks into my pours and my fine lines. I am going back to the powder foundation.
I was so excited when this product came out because it's been hard to find a good fragrance free product. I have acne prone skin and I like how the brush that comes with it allows you to apply full coverage and it's very light feeling. A little amount seems to go a long way. HOWEVER, it rubs off easily and my skin looks so oily that i had to keep blotting and applying veil over it all day which I don't want to have to keep putting makeup over makeup( why I use veil because I rarely have to touch up) not to mention $$$. Wasted just to cover shine. I was surprised since this doesn't happen to me with products I have used with oil in it. So I'm not sure why,but it's AWFUL. I hope they can find a way to make this product not give you that sweaty look!! I feel overall dissapointed and have been using my Mac foundation again even though it makes me break out
Sinks into pores making them visible
It's a great formula, but it sinks into the pores on my T Zone and makes them look huge. The BM Original powder formula does not cause large looking pores, so I might have to go back to that. However, my face looked very good (minus the T Zone pore issues). Even after two applications of primer, my pores this liquid still looked bad. Coverage is great, good layering.
