bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Not Only Met, But Exceeded Expectations!
I really like this makeup, a lot!! I’m 33, with sensitive skin, and a busy mom of two boys-this makeup is decently priced, looks nearly flawless, is easy to apply, and makes me feel good about myself (even on those not so good skin days). I have to admit after using the same makeup for the past few years I was hesitant to change, but am so glad that I did. I think that what is important to remember is that makeup in general can be subjective and tends to work slightly different for each person (it can also take time to get used to applying a new makeup). I am a big fan of foundation and this foundation does not disappoint, it is fantastic (really)! I prefer medium-full coverage and by adjusting the amount of drops I use I can get the exact coverage I want. I would say one thing I’ve learned is to start with less and build as I go versus applying to much to begin with (it’s harder to apply then). I strongly suggest reviewing the Shade Finder as that helped me to find a shade that matches so well (even better than my last foundation), I use Bare Linen. I usually use anywhere from 8-12 drops depending on the day, but again that is because I prefer full coverage and do have some splotchy areas that I like to cover well. I also bought the brush (Perfecting Face Brush) which after using for a couple weeks now I think works better than my old foundation brush, it covers more evenly and glides on so you can buff it in (using a circular motion). After applying my foundation I put on the Mineral Veil over it and it looks like I’m wearing little makeup, yet it evens out my skin, has virtually no smell, great texture, and also doesn’t feel like I’m wearing much makeup. It also lasts well all day (10-14 hours, with maybe a slight touchup). This product is exactly what it is advertised as and then some! I highly recommend it and am so thankful to have found it!
Enhances dry skin
When I tried this product at a BareMinerals boutique, it looked fine even though it made my dry skin quite apparent. I thought if I tried tons of moisturizer and primer it would do the trick. It did not. It accentuates every tiny little patch of dry skin on your face.
Pros: very lightweight, decent coverage
Cons: don't use if you have dry skin
Great foundation alternative
I really like this product. I didn't invest in the brush though. I wanted to see if I liked it first, then I read the reviews and it seems the brush is not so great. I had good results with just putting a couple drops on the back of my hand and then using my little buki brush to pick it up and buff on my face. I'm not sure if this is a all in one foundation or do you follow with Mineral Veil. Either way seems to look good for me. My skin is neither oily or dry so that is no problem.
Where has this foundation been all my life?!
I honestly have the most frustrating skin in the world that seems to break out with every kind of foundation out there, but this is the first one I've ever used on a daily basis that my skin actually seems to love. I honestly never even really liked Bare Escentuals (sorry!) before I became obsessed with this foundation. Now, the texture is something that takes a minute of getting used to -- you need to shake the bottle and then it comes out oily-looking, but I found that it doesn't feel like oil sitting on your face and it doesn't look oily at all. I am also positively amazed at the level of coverage I can get with this. I can wear it sheerly on days I don't need very full coverage, and I can layer it up on days I need full coverage, but no matter what, it NEVER looks cakey. I mean NEVER. This is honestly the first foundation review I've ever written in my life -- give this product a try. I even notice a difference in my skin (the hyperpigmentation is clearing). For me at least, it's the best foundation for my skin -- and I have acne prone, sensitive and combination skin. Finally, something that works! Thank you Bare Escentuals!
BareSkin Pure Serum Foundation
I currently use bareMinerals and I love the products! I did not like this one. After 15 minutes of using, it began to smell rancid on my skin. Which does not happen, unless a product has hemp. I checked out the ingredients, no hemp that I am aware of. Don't get me wrong, the foundation looked great. Unfortunately, it is not for me.
Taking a breath and hoping for improvement...
The new bareSkin Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF20 went on like a dream for me in the store when they did my face and I could not believe how wonderful it felt or did not feel... I did not even think I had anything on my face and it felt marvelous!!! No Mask?! Then I got home (lighting not good at all in the store and you really cannot see well at all !!!) You could see the makeup in every little area... next to my nose, eyes, lips, chin...etc., I was so disappointed. I kept trying to work with it (bought the brush as well) even applied with with fingers but nothing worked and took it back. Hope they figure out some way to get a few glitches out and I will be so happy to try it again!
Use to be a Flight Attendant and used makeup then but really slacked off when I slowed down and stopped flying plus am outdoorsy and am out in the elements a lot all year round but started using BE powder and products back in March 2014 and I have to say ~ I just love it and after applying ~ it just feels so good on my face and I cannot tell that I am even wearing anything at all!!! I had to take some time to get use to how much I wanted to put on and the application but I am getting it and LOVE IT! Plus ~ I have freckles more in the summer naturally ~ and it still works great... Bye the way... I have tried a lot of really expensive makeups on the market and this one is "#1" in my book!
Easy to use, good coverage
I have been a bare minerals user for about 10 years. I was hesitant to try this because liquid foundations never looked natural. I finally decided to give this a try, got color matched and bought it and the brush. I truly love this foundation. It goes on easily and stays put. At first I was using too much and it did tend to settle in my fine lines, But with this product, I now use only 2-3 drops and I get good coverage. If you are one of the people who says it settles, try using less or buffing more. After I apply it, I get a clean kabuki brush and buff buff buff. I thought the mineral powder foundation was the best, but BE has done it again. Also love that there is no powder residue in the air or on my clothes. This is the best product ever made. I use bare nude #9.
Just doesn't work for me
I really wanted to love this foundation. However, it settles in my pores and leaves parts of my face looking spotted and cakey. I experimented with different techniques, tried it with the primer but it never looked right. Finally I went to a Bare Minerals retailer and had them apply it for me....same exact results. It seems like a wonderful product but for whatever reason simply doesn't work on my skin. I don't even have particularly large pores. Between the foundation and the special brush it was a rather expensive fail.
Unsure of Brightening Serum
I have been using Bareskin brightening Serum foundation for a month now and I am still unsure if I like it. I have dry skin and redness by nose and forehead. I do not feel as if it helps cover the redness no matter how much I put on. This also makes my face very shinny and oily looking even with having the driest skin. I also don't feel as if this stays on like the original Bare Minerals. I had high hopes for this foundation :-(
Loved it at first but..
This foundation is not meant for dry skin. It accentuates the dryness. It also tends to collect in the crease of your eyelids and under eye lines so wearing eyeshadow is a must. The foundation has a shiny/super dewy finish and feels a lot heavier on your skin than the powder. It tends to come off super easy, and I found that it lasts about an hour before needing to touch it up/reapply it.
