bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Not as bad as the other reviews say...
After reading the other reviews, I was a little nervous about buying bareSkin. I have extremely combination skin with flaky dry patches and an oily T-zone. I have really liked this foundation WHEN I have the time to use it properly. If I moisturize and prime immediately before (letting both fully absorb into the skin), this foundation looks great and lasts all day. If I rely on last night's moisturizer or try to short-cut in any way, I have huge flaky patches after applying.
So even though I like the new formula, I will probably use rotate both this and the traditional powder depending on how much time I have to get ready in the morning.
Best liquid foundation ever!
I have very sensitive skin and I've always liked Bare Minerals. I used the original loose foundation and then graduated to the pressed foundation because it was more moisturizing. I ended up trying multiple BB creams, CC creams, and liquid foundations over the years, hoping to find one that would provide FULL coverage, was moisturizing, and was also not oily or greasy. This is the ONLY foundation tht does all these things! My skin is smoothe, illuminated, much more youthful looking, and it keeps it soft and moisturized without causing me to break out or have an oil slick on my forehead for the day! I use the 5-6 drops recommended for full coverage and it provides just that. The brush makes it easy to apply and you do NOT have to buff hard at all to get it to blend in. 2-3 drops gives me more of a quick BB/CC cream look with a lighter coverage. I set the fondation with a very light dusting of the pressed powder foundation.
Less is More
As a former liquid foundation gal who switched to minerals and fell in love, this product is amazing. Since it is a serum based foundation it is so lightweight. Less really is more with this product. It holds up nicely for a long day, but at the end of the day your face still feels fabulous. It does a wonderful job to even out skin tone. You will have to experiment to see how this product will work best for your style, routine, and skin. Mineral veil is the perfect finishing touch to help set this foundation. The application brush is so unique and so soft. Be sure to get color matched if possible for the best shade for you since there are 20 different shades!
The best non-liquid liquid foundation EVER
I was skeptical at first, but love this stuff. It is so easy to apply, covers flawlessly (I feel so glamorous but it is super light - you don't know it is there).
A couple of suggestions - tap the container after use to avoid bubble that basically waste your product. Shake it well prior to use. Make sure the cap is on tight. Use the brush - it is wonderful!
This is not like anything else....truly a serum with your BE foundation in it. Kudos from a skeptic!
This is NOT a liquid foundation, it's better!
Normally I would not have tried a liquid foundation. When I switched to the original Bare Minerals foundation several years ago I vowed that I would not go back to a liquid foundation however, since it was Bare Escentuals that created this Serum Foundation & I researched all the information about it, I decided that I would give it a fair chance. I still love my BE mineral foundation and will be sticking with it 90% of the time. However, I do love the BareSkin Serum Foundation.
-my skin feels& looks great after I have cleansed it
-easy to apply (the brush is Amazing!)
-works well with my other Bare Minerals products
-only takes 2 drops (less really is better)
-coverage doesn't last as long as the mineral foundation for me
-if you put too much on it can settle into fine lines & around the brows (but you can buff it back out)
Overall, I think it is a great addition to the Bare Escentuals line. If you are a liquid foundation type of girl, definitely give this a try!
Just started wearing
I have only worn this for 3 days but I can tell already that the packaging is going to be a problem. It does not come out without a squeeze and then too much comes out.
I love the idea of a liquid and hope it works for me. The powder lays in my fine lines so I am hoping the liquid will not.
Back to Liquid? YES!
I used to LOVE liquid foundation, and then my skin became more sensitive (aging stinks sometimes). I became a BE convert but was never 100% happy with the way the powder looked at work under florescent lights (a bit dry for my taste). When I heard that BE was coming out with a liquid, it couldn't come out fast enough for me. I went into the store to become matched - and went from Fair/Fairly Light to Bare Linen. I LOVE this stuff. Even the lower level of coverage is great. It feels so light and looks very natural. I recommend following up with the mineral veil for lasting power. Be sure to get matched, the colors are very different.
I originally bought this in wrong shade online and hated the way it looked. I thought it was the product. I went to store and was matched by salesperson with the correct color. I love it now. The finish is soft and natural looking. With the right shade, it does not settle into fine lines. Love it.
I may be a liquid foundation convert...
To be honest, if I hadn't been sent a free bareSkin liquid foundation as part of the Ambassador program, I don't know if I would have tried it. I have hated all liquid foundations I have tried in the past, because they tend to be thick and make my skin break out, and I don't need a lot of coverage to begin with.
I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the bareSkin foundation because 1) it is WAY lighter feeling than any other liquid foundation, 2) it matches my skin tone more perfectly than the power foundation I have, and 3) my sensitive/dry skin hasn't had any issues so far and I've been using it for about a week.
I usually use two drops for my entire face and it gives me the lighter coverage I want. The brush is just awesome, and you can be more exact with the makeup application than the bigger softer brushes that go with the powder foundation.
If I had one criticism, it would be that the makeup tends to ooze out the top after you shake it while it's still right-side-up (even after you wait to open the cap) so it is often difficult to get the exact number of drops you want, it's more like ooze sometimes.
Other than that, I love it, and so far, I am liking it better than my power foundation!
Silky Smooth Skin!!!
BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum is AMAZING!! I left liquid makeup more than 10 years ago, with no thoughts ever to return once I feel in love with my Bare Minerals powder. I was a little apprehensive to return to liquid with fear I would have more breakouts, however I have loved my experience.
I use approximately 3 drops in the well of the applicator brush and lightly swirl my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead, then I go back to blend it all evenly. It goes on very silky smooth with a very soft finish. I then set the foundation with a light brush of my mineral veil. The color lasts longer than the power and doesn't rub off as easily. I find the color looks more natural and very flattering. I'm in love with my BareSkin!!
