bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4.1 5 456 458
They really have done it again! I have been a BE fan and user for years and years and have loved the powder because I have oily skin. After years of trying different "high quality" brands of liquid foundation, I had pretty much given up that there was ever going to be a foundation that looked good on me all day. After I found the BE powders, I fell in love and never looked back. When this serum foundation came out, I was highly skeptical. because the whole foundation of BE (no pun intended) was in their award-winning powder foundations. But who doesn't want a little more coverage? I again was skeptical because of the iffy reviews. I took the plunge a couple weeks ago and I couldn't believe how amazing it is! A liquid foundation that covers all imperfections and STILL LOOKS LIKE BARE SKIN!!!! The applicator brush worked fine for me. The only complaint is the same one echoed over and over about the bottle oozing after being shaken up. Please redesign this bottle and all will be well!!! 03/05/2015
Terrible Smell I've been using Bare Minerals powder foundation for years. I was ready for a change because the powder seems to float all over when tapping. I was excited when the Brightening Serum foundation came out. I purchased a bottle. I loved the coverage. However, I couldn't stand the smell. I decided to try another shade thinking maybe it was that bottle. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I couldn't use either bottles because of the scent. From my experience the smell never improved. I wanted to love it but I just couldn't. I am hoping they make improvements. 03/05/2015
Tried it .. will go back to the original powder formula when this is done. First let me say that. I have been a Bare Minerals fan for years and was excited about a liquid product. It was a little frustrating to have to buy a $30 brush when you are already buying a $30 foundation.. but I got a coupon from Ulta and decided to try it. This stuff is a mess! The bottle leaks foundation everywhere.. I constantly have it on my hands, my counter.. I won't travel with this product because I don't want it to get all over everything in my bag. On the positive side, I do like the coverage and it is long lasting because I discovered very quickly that you only need like two small drops on the brush to provide coverage to your entire face. If the drop are too large it will become very masky looking and way too heavy. I am also not convinced that I like this color match for me as much as my normal powder foundation. I am glad that I tried it but I will certainly go back to the original formula when this is done. 03/04/2015
Not a fan I wanted to like this product so much because I have been using BareMinerals for years, but sadly I can't. For one, the product oozes out of the top after shaking it up, making everything a mess. Also, I found this product to be really greasy. Even after blending with a brush, it still leaves streaks everywhere. This is weird, but I also really dislike the way this product smells. It's almost a musty scent. I do think my skin looks brighter when it's on, which is why I gave it two stars, but with all the mess and the greasy streaks, I will not be purchasing this again. 03/04/2015
Not a fan. I love Bare Minerals and I have been using both matte and original powders for years. I wanted to this because it was new but I was disappointed. Granted, I have combination skin, but even in the areas where my skin is typically dry the make up was greasy and left streaks. Overall, the product felt greasy and uncomfortable to my skin. I tried with and without a moisturizer, with and without a finishing powder, and I had bought the application brush specifically for it. I would not recommend this product. 03/01/2015
I didn't think this product was for me I have very oily skin and didn't think I could use a liquid foundation, but I was wrong. This product helps smooth out all impurities and creates a perfect base. My face looks better at the end of the day using this than it did when I was just using the matte powder foundation and mineral veil. I still use those two on top, and my face looks great every day now, no more bad days! 03/01/2015
Awesome Coverage bareSkin is just what it is, barely there however it covers any dark spots, acne scars, veins, etc. The application brush is not so great.... ugh... doesn't apply the coverage evenly, I use a makeup sponge and finish with Bearskin Perfecting Veil. I rarely wear makeup because I cannot control the oil, I have found that the bareSkin coverage finished off with the perfecting veil works for all day coverage, I rarely have to touch up before heading home for the day. 02/27/2015
Awesome foundation, horrible bottle I absolutely love this foundation. I love that it makes my skin look perfect while looking like I have no makeup on. I do have a huge problem with the bottle though. It says to shake well, but when I do it doesn't stop oozing out of the top! I have tried various ways of shaking it to help that but nothing has changed. I have probably wasted half the bottle. Please redesign it!! 02/27/2015
Wanted to LOVE it-Never happened I really wanted to love this product. I was so excited about a liquid foundation, I tried it for a month and I didn't love it at all. Left me feeling like my skin was greasy. I actually had a break out from it. I didn't care for the coverage at all. Even by slowly building it up I still never achieved the look I wanted with my foundation. 02/26/2015
Best liquid foundation I tried a sample of this liquid foundation and was really impressed, so bought the full size bottle. I did find that the sample of foundation was thicker in the sample, but still covers the same. I use my finger to apply the foundation and this works for me. I then use the original bareminerals loose powder foundation and finish it off with the original loose powder mineral veil. The bottle does need to be redesigned, because when I put a few dots of foundation on my finger the cap continues to drip foundation. It's like there is a bubble in there, so I have to fiddle with the bottle to get it to stop. You have to be sure to shake the bottle really well before use our the foundation is extremely runny. This is the best foundation that I have found because it feels so light on my skin yet provides great coverage. 02/25/2015

I just recently purchased this product. I have never used Bare Minerals, so I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to look. Maybe the color is to dark. My forehead looked very oily to me and like the make up was caked on.

Sounds like you are applying the product to thick, it only take a LITTLE ..... try applying with a foundation brush instead of the application pad that comes with it.

Hi, I have a coloring comparable to Nicole Richie-- I have dark dark brown eyes and medium-light blonde hair and am of Italian and French descent. Just tried 07 Bare Natural and it was too "white/masky" on me. My undereye discoloration was more apparent too.

My veins definitely are green, so I have a warm undertone, but I never select the right foundation shade. My cheeks have some pink, but my skin looks olive/ gold.

Any shade rcommendtons are so appreciated. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I am unable to be colorprinted.

Thanks in advance.

I love this product. Not at first, but with more use am getting better. Also am using less product with experience. Just don't know if the Bisque is being wiped off as I apply the Bare Skin foundation.

Can this foundation be successfully applied using the fingertips? I do get tired of all the special brush needs ...I feel this might be a marketing thing to get us to spend more

Soooo... I am going to answer my own question ...I thank you everyone one for their answers - but for those pondering the conflicting views here; I am very happy with finger tip application. It IS even, NOT streaky in the least. I do LOVE this foundation. So my advice to anyone else wondering the very same thing is - if you don't already have the brush & have a limited budget ...but you really wanna try the foundation - try it! Use fingertip application for starters. If you aren't quite happy with that, get the brush when you can afford to. I'm very happy w/o the brush. Sometimes after application I buff my flawless face brush over my face for good measure but really just as an after thought. I honestly don't feel it's necessary.

You can apply with fingertips. However I don't recommend it. If you want a pretty finish use the brush. Bare Minerals always recommends a brush. They started marketing their products with a brush and that's for a reason. 1, you don't waste product and 2 it goes on much easier and more even. Hope this helps!

No i would not recommend using your fingers because since it is a type of foundation that sits on top of your skin and not go into your pores it will probably leave many streaks and not go on evenly. The brush is very expensive, but i do use it all the time. But i feel it would be fine if you use a cheaper brush and it will apply just fine. Hope that helped!

Yes, I use my fingers because the "special brush" starts stinking if you don't clean it after every 1-2 times of using it. Fingertips work fine for me.

I usually buy brushes for my different kinds of BE makeups, but I use my fingertips for this. I think it goes on better and blends well by using my hands.

I would advise against using your finger tips and stick to a brush. I use a flat head powder brush to blend out my foundation which works beautifully with liquid foundations. The "special" brush does not work well especially if you're in a hurry to slap on your makeup.
Stick to a well designed, dense, kabuki or powder brush.

No, it is a separate item. However, if you do not want to buy the brush, I know some people also use their fingers or a makeup sponge.

Brush is sold separately. I've used my fingers to get heavier coverage, but for whole face application the brush is necessary. I haven't tried a regular foundation brush yet, but that might also work.

BareSkin will work great for your dryness. If you need the correct color you must go to place where they sell it and have one of the knowledgeable attendants help you. They have a special hand held machine that can determine the correct tone and color of your unique skin.

The next shade lighter than Bare Natural 07 (a Medium shade with neutral undertones) is Bare Linen 03 (a Light shade with neutral undertones). It doesn't have any red to it. You can warm it up with some bronzer if it is a bit too light.

I absolutely love this foundation, except for the bottle. :( I love that a little goes a long way, but when product randomly oozes out and down the side, wasting DAYS of foundation, it's hard to convince me to purchase again. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, as it seems random. I've tried shaking less, tried shaking more.... but it's just so frustrating to take off the lid and see foundation pouring down the side uncontrollably. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT.

I have had the same problem as you. I have pretty good luck if I open the lid a bit (like opening a soda) close it back up and then shake it lightly and tap the bottom on my vanity a couple times before I open it again. I also hold it at the top and shake it like you would ring a bell instead of shaking it like a can of spray paint.

This is what works for me!

This foundation is a liquid so it wouldn't stay on the kabuki as well. The kabuki is very absorbent so it would soak up all of the liquid and be very wasteful, plus the application wouldn't work as well. Of course I'd suggest going into the nearest outlet you can find, get matched and ask all your questions there if possible.
Personally I have such a specific color that this is about the only foundation that really matches, and I use it so much I honestly think that its worth buying a new brush if you do choose to get some.
