Perfecting Face Brush 3.3 5 47 47
Sheds The first one I purchased a year ago shed like crazy. Bristles everywhere. I went to the boutique in my local mall and they gave me a new one. Exceptional customer service. 08/27/2015
How is this a best seller This brush is aweful! I am very disappointed at it's performance. I have been wearing and using bare minerals products for as long as I have been wearing makeup and this is by far the worst brush I have come across. It leaves my foundation streaky and it sheds worst that my shih tzu! I am very disappointment that I spent $38 on it. I have only used it a few times and it started shedding on the second use and has gotten worse with each use. I ended up purchasing a brush from my local beauty supply for under $7 and it's performance is far more superior. I bet most that buy it don't buy it twice. 08/13/2015
Disappointed Disappointed, Love the make up but the brush is not worth the money. After a couple of months it sheds. Every time I put my make up on, my face is full of bristles. It is not worth it to me to have to buy a brush more frequent then I have to buy my make up. 08/04/2015
bristols fall out I too as many loved this brush for a few months and now I just get a face full of brisols....not sure, as many, if I want to spend the money to replace it. I have never been disappointed in any of your products. 07/30/2015
Mixed Feeling on This Brush I loved this brush.....that was until the shedding began. I purchased it in March of 2015 always washed it as described in the videos but in June of 2015 I noticed some shedding now we are in July and the shedding is so bad I'm throwing it out! I love the coverage this brush gives, hides the redness on my face but all the shedding all over my face and clothes is awful. Overall this brush is great if your company can find a way to stop the shedding, I do want another but don't want to spend this kind of money on something that will probably shed again in 3 months!!! This picture below show all the shedding and all the unevenness in the fibers in the brush 07/20/2015
Poorly made brush I have used Bare Minerals since I was in college and was excited to use this brush with the foundation. I was pleased with the product until after only a couple of months the bristles started to fall out. It became so bad that I had to stop using the brush. It is poorly made. too bad! 07/19/2015
DO NOT Wash This Brush Save yourself from all the problems that come along with this brush. I first got this brush & foundation for Christmas 2014, and didn't end up using it until Mid January, when I knew how to use/care for the product. I suffer from acute acne, but have very sensitive skin, and like to keep my brushed clean, as I clean them after every application. With this brush I did not see the need for that as often. So shortly after me using the brush, I felt the need to clean it after all the makeup collects in the well. After I cleaned it, doing as told by Bare Escentuals, once dried, I noticed shedding. It was bearable for the first month or two, but when it because a process to remove a lot of bristles off my face, it became a problem. After only 3 months of using the brush, I had to stop. It was sad, because I really loved the flawless coverage it left on my face, almost looking airbrushed. I would love to buy another one, but am hesitant it will do the same thing. So, until a solution is made, my business will not be here! 07/14/2015
Shedder I love this brush. I rarely buy brushes, but WAS very satisfied with my purchase, until the shedding began. A few bristles here and there, but now I cannot even use it. The shedding interfere with the use of the brush. A recall should be issued, and brushes should be replaced in my opinion. A brush, at this price should last longer than a year with proper care. I am hopeful they will stand behind their products. 07/03/2015
Such a great brush! I own 2 of these brushes. One I use for my BareSkin, and the other I use for thick concealer application over my pores and redness. It works amazing for both purposes, and I love it! 06/18/2015
Too small For me, this brush is too small and it takes more effort to apply BareSkin to the face, it's like using a mini brush. I don't think the reservoir is necessary either, I'd rather use a flat brush with more surface area like the Precision Face Brush. 06/04/2015

You should clean your brush once a week and you can use baby shampoo.

I use Well-Cared For, perhaps a bit more than the usual "dime-sized" amount recommended, and rinse about 5-6 times. It is a bit harder to clean than the other brushes designed for original, matte, or READY formulas, and for this reason I would recommend cleaning it twice to three times as often.

I am using the Perfecting Face Brush with the bareSkin Foundation and washing it once a week with the Well-Cared For Brush Shampoo. Whenever I wash it, I tend to repeat the wash about 7 times and there is still excess foundation coming out. Do you have any tips for cleaning the brush? Will washing it twice a week wear out the brush? Thanks!

The last time I washed mine, it took about five rinses to get the foundation out. It's possible you're using too much foundation, though the complaint that the brush is hard to clean is rather common from other reviews I have read online. You shouldn't need to wash it twice a week (once a week should be plenty).

It sounds to me like you may be using too much foundation. I apply a small amount (only about 2 drops total) and it is always much more than enough. It also may be that you sit the brush with the head facing upwards quickly after using your foundation. That may be causing it to run down into the base of the brush. I only wash my brushes about once a week, so I'm not sure if any more than that would be harmful, but since you're using the nice brush shampoo, I don't think that it would hurt.

There is a really helpful video about this posted under the Learn/Videos tab on this site. You can watch that of course, or here is the summary: wash it like any other make up brush, using brush shampoo (like the one from BM) or baby shampoo. Either way, it is definitely a good idea to wash your brushes so they stay in the best condition!

Same as every other brush, just more often! I have been washing mine about every 7-10 days. Just run the bristles under warm water and use brush shampoo to clean out until water runs clear. Be sure to hold bristles down so water doesnt get into the handle and lay flat to dry. Because the brush is synthetic, it does take a bit longer to dry.
