Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner - null
Very disappointing - old products were better
I wanted to like this product, but I returned it yesterday. The 7pm rich brown color is amazing - so deep, with hints of bronze, lighter than your average brown liner, perfect! Unfortunately, everything else made me hate this product. It is so mushy. You can't get the line you want. Then, it sticks exactly where you initially put it. This would be great, but not when you have no control or precision when applying. I looked like that photo I've seen of myself when I was 6 years old and applied my mom's makeup in gobs all over my face. Also because of the consistency, you have to sharpen it before each use, which made it seem like a huge waste of money for barely any product. You really have to scrub to get this liner off, and it left my lashline looking red afterwards. I went out on a limb for this product because I love BM, but don't bother!
BM: PLEASE redo your eyeliner product line. KEEP the rich brown/bronze color. It is stunning! But we need a more controlled kohl and a normal pencil. I've tried doing the eyeshadow + primer thing and it's just too complicated. Give me a good, old-fashioned pencil or a regular kohl - reminiscent of your Big & Bright line. The rest is too complicated. I made the conscious decision to buy only BM going forward, but I've had to cheat and go elsewhere for eyeliner. Woo me back!
Not my favorite
I have this in dark purple and black. It's been messy in ways I couldn't have anticipated. I have to agree, I like the big and bright eyeliner much much better. While not waterproof If you used an eye primer it lasted all day. I also liked the finer point and not having to sharpen it.
Not a good value
For $18.00 you only get the pencil tip. Once the tip is gone; its gone. I used it every day and it only lasted me 3 weeks!
This eyeliner is goopy, heavy, and cakey. It does not go on smoothly, no matter how much I contort my eyelids and it breaks off in chunks with even the lightest touch. Forget sharpening it, it costs way too much for me to waste most of it gunking up my pencil sharpener. Loved the Big and Bright eyeliners, they went on smoothly and cleanly and sharpening was not an issue. PLEASE bring back the Big and Bright so that those of us who don't like the Round the Clock have another option.
My Favorite Eyeliner!
The Round the Clock liner works well with combination skin and with cream shadows. I have found that you need to keep it somewhat sharp (the sharpener brand DOES matter--I've had great luck with Bare Minerals sharpeners), creating a thin line and then immediately using your liner brush to smooth and soften the line. Then, use the remaining liner on the brush to line the lower lash line. It creates a much softer look as the colors are all pretty bold and can look heavy if the pencil is used to line lower lashes.
This liner stays in place for me all day--5 am to midnight when I finally take it off. It even survives my workouts, swimming, contact solution, and the occasional romantic-comedy cry! I receive frequent compliments on my eye makeup and a huge part of that is due to this liner!
I had tried the Big & Bright liners in the past, but I can have somewhat-oily lids and wear contacts. It always seemed to smudge and crease under my eyes and on my lid and wore off easily. It was very easy to create a smokey eye with though.
As a former makeup artist, I have had the opportunity to try many types of liners. Definitely give this liner a try. And be patient...application with liners is an art, and practice makes perfect!
Rond the Clock waterproof eyeline
This is absolutely the best eyeliner ever made. For twenty years I have had troubles with eyeliners running due to my oily skin but this one stays in place all day. It also is very easy to smudge so you don't see a distinct dark line. I absolutely love it.
I bought this eyeliner, first of all because you were not selling any of the eyeliners that I used to buy, so I thought that I would give it a chance. Well, I hate it! I want to be able to buy the 'Big & Bright Eyeliner' again! I loved those! first of all I don't like anything that is waterproof, and I also don't like how it feels and looks on my eyes. Is there any way you will go back and sell the Big & Bright Eyeliners again? Please!
I got the 5 pm, which I was really hoping would be a nice plum. It looks black on me, so it is much too dark. It also does not go on smoothly, but is somewhat gloppy. It doesn't smudge easily to lighten it up. I have been generally happy with Bare Escentuals products, but this one needs to be retired.
I got a Big & Bright eyeliner (now discontinued# in bronze with a kit and it would get five stars both for color and application. Please bring this formula #or something more like it) back!
The first few uses this pencil was OK. After ATTEMPTING to sharpen it became a nightmare. Uneven, clumpy application leaves me looking like it was my first time using eyeliner. At this price point I was expecting so much more.
Bring back the BIG & BRIGHT
I miss 'Big & Bright' SO MUCH! It's half the reason I use Bare Essentials. I'm low, but thankfully not out YET. When I went to replace, all that was available was 'Round the clock'....I had no choice and thought, "I'm sure it's just as great". Wrong. This product is too intense at initial application and just plain messy. Why not carry both for your customers that DO like the new line? From what I'm reading, customers are missing the other as much as I am. Honestly, if it weren't for my allergies to "the cheap stuff", I'd almost rather those than the new 'Round the Clock'. I'm just not a fan. Sorry!
