Faux Tan Body Sunless Tanner
I love love love the color of this tanner!! In the loose minerals, I wear golden fair and fairly light when I have no tan at all. I don't want to go to the tanning bed all the time.
What this does for me?..... I use it on my chest, hands and feet and it looks like I have a tan when that's all that is seen. The girl in the boutique that showed it to me told me to use it with a buffing brush. I put it in a small dish and dot it on my skin, then buff in the circular pattern. It is awesome!! The color is the same color I am when I get UV tan, which is unbelievable! I also use the face formula and just buff it across my cheeks, nose and forehead because that's where I always get the UV rays naturally. Using the brush makes it much more even, plus there is no hand washing and it never makes the bristles hard. This is the first year that I have had a tan this early with no UV and I look like I do after I've been in the sun. When I do get in the sun, I will use this to even it out and prolong it, how can I go wrong?
The only reason I left off the last star is because I do have trouble with the smell, but i think that is my skin chemistry. The smell is good out of the bottle, I use it at night so on my skin, it smells like all other tanners and wakes me up all night. So I really think it's my own chemistry that mixes with it. Otherwise - 5 stars!
(Also, I am very acne prone and neither one of the body or face formula has broke me out at all)
I miss the old Faux Tan :(
I searched for years to find the perfect Faux Tan that wasn't tested on animals, and fell in love with BM's old Faux Tan. When I saw they made a new paraben free formula, I couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately, the new one is terrible for my fair skin. It was streaky, too dark and not gradual at all. I had to painfully scrub for 5 minutes to get the dark brown stain from my hands, and I just gave up and hid my legs for a week until the streaky stains could be blended away with my old Faux Tan. I ran back to return it and bought every last bottle of the old Faux Tan that they had in the store, which I will be hoarding until I find another gradual tanner from a different brand because the saleswoman told me it's being discontinued :( I'm a loyal BM girl and this is the only time I've ever been let down by one of their products. Maybe it looks less streaky on girls who aren't so fair-skinned... but aren't the fair girls the ones who crave a self tanner the most?? The old Faux Tan was completely fool proof, I could slap it on and never go wrong. How could BM miss the mark when they already had it perfect? I will say at least it was a true bronze and not orange. Please bring back the old Faux Tan... just without the parabens :)
Being of Filipino heritage I normally have good color to my skin, but this year I wanted to get a head start on a deep tan color before going on vacation. I have never used a faux tanner before but my husband has and the smells have been horrible so I was a little apprehensive in getting this but, since I am a hugh fan of the Bare Minerals line I thought I would give it a try.
Today is the first day I am using it and after following the instructions I applied it and to my amazement, the smell is very pleasant, nothing at all like I expected and definitely nothing like any of the other ones my hubby has used.
I can’t wait to see what the color results will be, but I am loving it already if only for the smell and the way it makes my skin feel...a smooth and silky touch.
Thank you BM for this and all of your other great products.
Paraben Free whoo hoo!
I agree with a previous review that I am so glad to see that this is now paraben free. I have a large bottle that I no longer use because I discovered that it contained parabens! Looking forward to trying the faux tan face! Thank you Leslie!
Newer is not always Better
I have used Faux Tan forever and the previous version is better when it comes to spreading so now I am noticing I miss areas =( and have to fix them later. The new dries too/disappears toooo quickly as your spreading it on and I do not see any worthy improvement to have changed it. The brand is Still the best line of sunless tanner but I am comparing the 2.
First self tanner I've ever used that has NO SMELL!! And it goes on more of an olive color so it's more of a believable natural tan but definitely make sure to wash your hands really really well after so you don't get discoloration on your palms. Put it on this morning, ran around all day watching the kid, went to happy hour and it literally had no rub off ( and that's with a white shirt btw ). Gives a really beautiful tan that makes you look like you've spent a week at the beach. I think as the weather gets warmer I may put on a second coat but for March it's perfect. I've tried tons of other brands but I can already tell this is the best and a little goes a long way. ** Btw took about 10-15 minutes to dry
I've got two full deluxe-size bottles of the old stuff on my bathroom shelf. Haven't been able to bring myself to use it once I discovered parabens in the list of ingredients. I am SO GEEKED for this new formula!!! Good job, BE!
