Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner - null
Will never purchase again!
I had found a new favorite in Bare Minerals Big & Bright Plum Eyeliner. To my disappointment, I discovered that it had been discontinued and replaced with Round the Clock 5pm. I decided to give it a try. You have to sharpen it, and when you do, it creates a mess because the liner is too soft. When you apply it, it smudges easily and is hard to remove without eye makeup remover because it's waterproof. I used it up in no time just trying to sharpen and reapply... such a waste of money. Please bring back the old product!!!
Hard to sharpen & too soft
This eyeliner is really pretty on my eyes but it is really soft and hard to apply evenly without making a big mess. I have used the smudging technique that works okay. It does best when freshly sharpened. Note: Sharpen slowly! It requires a lot of effort to get it to look right but if you have the patience it looks really good. Most of the time I do not have the patience.
I was given one of these in the Christmas set last year & I went to use it & it was great! In the month after that, though, it dried out & sharpening doesn't make a difference. With wearing contacts, I prefer waterproof liner, but will stick with the regular until the formulation changes so it won't harden.
Once is More than Enough
This is a terrible product. I will never purchase it again. It dries out. It sharpens poorly. It is inconsistent.
What was wrong with the Big and Bold Eyeliners? Did too many people whine about it not staying? Well, it stays fine for me! I guess when I'm done with my collection of irreplaceable colors (teal, bronze), I'm done with BE Eyeliners.
Too bad. BE has lost touch with their customers. Disappointing but not surprising.
I bought this eyeliner, thinking it would be like the original Big and Bright, retractable/never needs sharpening eyeliner. It is not. It is fatter near the point, causing it to be difficult to hold and draw a precise line on the lid. Press too hard, and the lead is easily smashed. It does not come with a sharpener; once the right size sharpener is found, the lead is very soft and breaks or smushes easily.
The original Big and Bright eyeliner was easy to use and did not need to be sharpened - it rolled up and down. It was thinner, easier to hold and use, and the lead was soft enough to draw a great line but not so soft that it smashed or broke off.
I wish BE would not come out wth products unless they ask loyal customers to test and compare them to what is already out - prior to discontinuing a great selling, much better eyeliner. In BE's eagerness to make more money with new products it has created a real dud.
Like the saying goes "if it is not broken, don't fix it".
I took it back to Ulta where I purchased it - was not surprised when I was told "most of those eyeliners were returned as customers were not happy with them'.
Not really won over
At first I loved how creamy it was. The more you use it though, the less creamier it gets. Like all the good stuff was in the first half of the pencil. It does smudge easy, and mistakes are harder to correct. I just bought a regular self sharpening pencil from the drug store.
worst eyeliners EVER!!!!
I have 3 of these around the clock liners and they dry out WAY TOO QUICKLY and cannot be used at all. A REAL WASTE OF MONEY!! I spoke with a rep at a boutique and the company is aware of the problem....but at this point no reformulation....
I hate the new eyeliner. I used to use the black big and bright eyeliner so when I ran out and couldn't purchase anymore big and bright I bought the midnight round the clock. It is not forgiving at all. You have to be extremely precise when applying it. It smudges very easily if you try to make a correction. Oh and sweat makes it run, so, so much for waterproof. I WANT BIG AND BRIGHT BACK. please and thank you.
A great Product
I use Bare Minerals exclusively and this eyeliner is the best yet. So smooth and creamy to apply. No more pulling at your lash line. It is waterproof which is keeps it in place.
If I had to say anything bad it would be that it is a little harder to get off, but if you use makeup remover it comes off well.
I like the old forumula/size better
I really dislike the new formulation. The pencil is so much thicker than the original, which makes it almost impossible to get a sharp point. I have a very hard time getting the thin line that I prefer for eye liner. It ends up looking messy, so I have to smudge it over and over to make it look neat. And I find that it flakes like crazy, which is a surprise because the old formula did not. The plum color i use is beautiful, but honestly I can't wait for this new pencil to be used up so that I can find another brand of eye liner that is thin like the old formula. So disappointing.
