MATTE Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.5 5 76 76
Everything I needed. I tried Bare minerals original foundation and the ready go foundation and wasn't very impressed. I have combination and sensitive skin, so I really liked the bare minerals products because they didn't make me break out like most other makeups do. I decided to try bare minerals again and have been using the matte foundation. I LOVE IT. it gives the the smooth matte coverage I love especially during summer and is easy to go on. It doesn't take long to apply and gives me that soft natural matte look I've been looking for! I FOUND MY DREAM PRODUCT. I couldn't be happier! 07/24/2014
life changing I am native American and Sicilian so I have olive skin and the golden tan matches me perfectly. I also love how weightless it feels. I like other women used to suffer from adult acne. I tried all sorts of foundations to try to cover the break outs and even out my skin everything from covergirl, maybelline even shear cover and it would make my skin more oily and break me out even more. My dermatologist then recommended Bare Minerals to me. I've been in love ever since. The foundation is my most have cant live without!! 07/08/2014
Love, Love, Love I was so happy with the Matte Foundation. I have combination to oily skin and this helps control that extra shine. I tried a few other foundations before, but they only added extra shine and felt really greasy. I also like the natural/no makeup look that it gives. I rarely use makeup at all so it was a good transition into and so easy to apply when I need to have a little coverage! Totally recommend it! 07/01/2014
Love this stuff!! I've been using BM for several months and love the way this matte covers and helps with my oily skin. I've used other brands of make up most of my life and never realized how heavy they were, until I started using BM. It's weightless, and makes your skin flawless! 05/30/2014
African-American Women Friendly I'm a deep complexion (think Kelly Roland or Fantasia...maybe a shade lighter) and I feel over the moon in love with Bare Minerals foundations. I've used MAC, Covergirl and Iman so I know a good thing when I use it and BE is that perfect thing. I thought that the colors offered would leave me looking ashy but it is actually the total opposite, my skin has transformed into this beautiful brown sun-kissed complexion. I mix golden deep (a little of warm deep) and the warmth together for my perfect match, put on some mascara, lip glass and I good for the day. Lastly I suffered from adult acne and my face has been clear and I do not get those annoying pimples like I use to. If you are on the deep/dark side of the beautiful rainbow, give Bare Minerals a try. 05/28/2014
My chameleon skin, oye vey! I have really strange combination skin. In the winter time I LOVE my Ready foundation. It hydrates that little bit more which is just what my winter skin needs. Now that summer is rolling around the Ready foundation is too much. The Matte foundation is perfect in the sense that I still get the same flat texture as my Ready, but without the oily unkempt look after a long day at work. After applying my moisturizer and BB primer (a whole other story), I glide on my Matte foundation. It stays put and controls my oil production all day. By the time 4:30 rolls around it is just as beautiful as when I applied it at 6:30 AM. It is fully adjustable between sheer to full coverage. I use the precision face brush and it 1,2,3 done :) 04/15/2014
MATTE GOLDEN TAN THIS MATTE FOUNDATION IS ALL I NEED!!! I USE THE PRIMER FIRST, THEN MATTE IN GOLDEN TAN AND IM OFF!!! I GET SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THIS BEAUTIFUL MAKEUP!!! I FEEL BEAUTIFUL ALL OVER!! THANK YOU BARE MINERALS, IM A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!! 04/03/2014
Best Foundation I have Tried the Bare Minerals Original, READY® Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 and the Matte Foundation. The Matte Foundation is by far my most favorite Foundation out of all of them. It gives my face a flawless Matte Look. I love that you just use a little and it goes a long way. I do not suggest to cake it on because then it does not give the natural look that Bare Minerals is known for. My daughter uses the same Matte Foundation and she seems to put too much on. This is my favorite of all the BareMinerals Foundations. I highly recommend this product. 03/26/2014
Not good I recently purchased Matte bare minerals loose powder foundation, because I like a natural look and it was recommended by a friend. When I went to purchase it the lady asked if I have oily or dry skin and I said combination so she gave me the Matte foundation saying it would help. When I first used it everything was fine but now I am noticing more and more that my skin is drying out, flaking and peeling. I'm starting to get fine lines all around my forehead, where it's just so dry it's like plastic, and I'm only 23. My skin is not oily anymore and the foundation is just drying my skin out so bad. I put tons of lotion on now and nothing seems to be helping, I can barely wear it anymore. Also, I am really fair and it makes my face look orange :( 03/24/2014
Beautiful Coverage If You have oily skin like me, matte foundation keeps it in check, and also prevents shine. Buff it on for beautiful coverage after the foundation primer for the best results. I have been using this foundation for a few months and even though it comes in a small container, I am still using my first one! I advise using it sparingly to keep it from running out sooner. If I had to say something negative about this product, I would probably point to it's duration throughout the day. Though it has amazing coverage, I have to reapply it once a day with the concealer. It "melts" off oily skin a little bit after a few hours. It melts enough to show blemishes. I hope this helped! 03/24/2014

I would like to know how young can you start using your products? I have a pre-teen that is beginning to get acne and would also like to know before I start purchasing your line for acne. I am also interested in the sheer powder that seals the makeup.

Yes I believe so! The Matte may be a bit darker but it is hardly noticeable! When I went to get my shade match in the store the artist tried on both and told me that they look the same on me. (Medium Beige) The only real big difference is the finish between Matte and Illuminated.

Yes, they are the same color, with Mattes just not having a that "glowy" look (from the mica in the Original). The Matte may be a teeeennnyy shade darker, but not enough to need a whole new shade.

Hope this helps!

I honestly can't say if this has any type of oil or not, but I can tell you it's great for acne-prone skin. I have acne and my face gets oily, I have been using this product for some time now and it has never made my face break out worse and it hides and acne and acne scars very well. I highly recommend trying it!

I have had acne for a good portion of my life. This foundation has never made my face break out (milk actually contributes to my acne so I switched to almond milk), however, this make up really helps cover the discoloration caused by acne. Once my face cleared up after switching milk, I love this make up even more! I get comments all the time about my skin and I know it's the make up that makes it glow! It it not oily or heavy. It is actually quite light and I believe the ingredients are listed on the site. No oil that I know of!

I have oily/sensitive skin and my dermatologist wants me to use only non-comedogenic makeup to help with my acne.

Are bareMinerals products non-comedogenic?

I've been using bareMinerals products for years and would hate to have to find another brand!

Their matte formula is non-comedogenic. Not sure about their moisturizers because I've had issues with them. Try Half Pint Minerals foundation---more gentle and less expensive.

I have had oily, sensitive skin prone to breakout nearly all my life. I wish that Bare Minerals had been established decades ago. Bare Minerals products do NOT clog my pores or break out my skin, unlike so many other brands that even claim to be non-comedogenic, even those very expensive brands. I had to stop wearing makeup years ago until I tried Bare Minerals. I use the Matte Foundation along with the primer for oily skin which keep my skin looking and feeling good all day. I also use the Exfoliating Cleanser (a powder) which does not irritate my sensitive skin. Hope this helps.

I have the oiliest skin on the planet so I can relate. I use sephora silicone free primer after cleansing my skin. Then I apply a layer of mineral veil to my entire face, concentrating on the t-zone. I then apply my matte BM foundation, concealer, blush..etc. I add another layer of mineral veil and voila shine free for a couple of hours at least lol. Mineral veil is perfect for touching up through out the day too!

I had the exact same problem a little while ago (I am 14). I went without makeup for about two weeks before I got super self-conscious about the redness on my face. First of all, your face could be a little red due to sun. Even though it's winter, I wear sunscreen EVERY day to protect my skin. SPF is a life saver. I wear Shiseido Oil Free Urban Environment Sunscreen. It's not oily and doesn't make your skin white. If you wear this, and then a light powder, you should feel confident without feeling like you're wearing a mask. That's what I do! I wear sunscreen under a little powder (BareMinerals Matte Foundation) and I am good to go! My friends say that it looks super natural and that they can't tell that I am wearing makeup! I hope this helps :)

Please don't go without makeup, because good makeup, like Bare Minerals, helps to protect your skin from negative effects of the environment, such as air pollution, sun damage, very dry air and cold weather to name a few. I have had very oily and sensitive skin nearly all my life, and Bare Minerals is the best I have used for my skin. To start I always wash my hands before I touch my face. Cleaning my very oily skin is important, and Bare Minerals has good treatment products for oily skin. I especially like the Exfoliating Cleanser which does not irritate my also sensitive skin. Before applying makeup I use the primer for oily skin - I don't use a lot either. I slightly wet my fingertips with water to help smooth on the primer. Then I apply the Matte Foundation powder with a clean brush. This combination keeps my oil in check for nearly all day.

With this kind of a product you want to use a shine free(oil free) primer first before putting this on. Also, use the matte version to help with the shine. With this product, less really is more. Start with a little and it should form to your face. This is what i do. Hope this helps.

Make sure you cleanse first, use a moisturizer ( oily controlling is good like the combination skin moisturizer by bare essentials), use the foundation primer. Then apply. If it looks like a mask you are likely applying it too heavy. You may want to find a boutique or sephora store to color match you. Also when you load the brush it is important you tap out the excess so it does not cake on when you apply it.

First, if you are not wearing a primer, you probably should. This is the number one problem most people have when it comes to makeup-meltdown. Second, start off with a tiny amount of foundation and build on your coverage. Third, make sure you set it with Mineral Veil, a lot of people think that this does not make a difference but it really does! After this step, you can use a setting spray to lock in everything if you think this won't be enough. And finally, if all else fails, you may want to try plan B:) hope this helps and good luck!

I personally think that the Original Foundation is perfect for women over 25 - it makes your skin look luminous and dewy! However, as a teen, the matte foundation is a better option, because it prevents shine. However, I personally think it doesn't give as much coverage, which I actually like because my face doesn't look cakey. You should give it a shot!

The original is luminous and makes your skin look dewy. The matte formulation evens the skin tone for a more simple look. The matte also does not contain bismuth oxychloride, as some are allergic to it.

Hi Binnie! It depends on your skin and what you like. I used the original for YEARS and then found it didn't work for me anymore because of the "glowiness' . It just looked and acted badly making me look older and my skin bad. I also was starting to have problems with itching. I tried the matte and I LOVE it. I am able to use my foundation again because the matte has more of a natural skin finish without the shine, just a good healthy look. I found it also stays on longer because it helps with areas you might get oil. Because of the different formula it doesn't make me itch either. I would definitely try it first and see how you like it! You might find there are days you want that more natural finish or you could even mix it with the original to get a really nice look with a little longer lasting power. You can see the difference if you put some on your hand side by side, the matte kind of just melts in and is invisible while hiding "stuff' you don't want! The original has that "glow" that you see on your skin. Don't miss out on the chance to give it a try, you might find you like it as much as those who use it everyday!

The original foundation has a natural finish and is for normal to dry skin and the matte foundation is for controlling oil on the skin so let's say you have dry or normal skin I think you would want to keep using the original and if you have oily skin you are going to like matte foundation because it will keep skin oil free all day! I hope my answer helped you.

Not only is my skin sensitive but I am also sensitive to inhaling perfumes. I take a deep breath and hold it if I have to get a product on the detergent aisle at the grocery store. I have to use products that are free of perfumes and dyes. You must try Bare Minerals; it does NOT offend any of my sensitivities. Also, Bare minerals products look and feel good on my skin, as if I am not wearing any makeup at all.

I have very sensitive skin and am really, really, really sensitive to even light scents. BE products do not have any odors whatsoever, and I have never had a problem with them. They are by far the best for fragrance-free make up... they do not have even a "light smell". Mineral product are smooth and creamy and cover well, but they can be messy. They are really fun to use "mix & match" and they give you a lot of freedom with make up application. I find that they are best for younger skin but many products are still super for older skin as well. Best yet, they have very little, if any, harmful ingredients and they last me forever.
