Q & A
Mineral Veil - null 4.6 5 184 184
This is a must have! I have buying Bare Minerals for about a half a year now and can say that I love the change-especially all of their Mineral Veil products. The illuminating shade is great for a younger look in the warmer months, and I have fallen in love with it. The original is incredible as well! This is the perfect way to finish off any of your makeup looks. 07/23/2014
Must have! I was introduced to the mineral veil about a year ago and I wear it every day! I absolutely love how beautiful it makes my skin look! Most days I wear a little blush and the veil and my skin looks luminous! I can skip the bb creams and foundations but I cannot go without the mineral veil. I have combination skin and the veil makes all the shine disappear! I like to keep a small sample size in my purse for touch ups. You really must try it! Stop by for a sample and you will love the way your skin will look! 07/20/2014
Not for any kind of dry or aging skin I purchased a bare escentuals kit after reading their advertisement how fabulous the product was for aging and face lines. Definitely a huge waste of money. I followed the dvd 3 times to make sure I was doing this right as my skin looked 10 years older. It is for sure for people who have perfect skin. If you have any dry areas or face lines they increase 200% 07/20/2014
The Perfect Finishing Touch I love using Mineral Veil! It is the perfect finishing touch for my face. 07/19/2014
The one product that kept me coming back. I have actually gone through 3 of these over the years. I can't use the original foundation because of the bismuth, but this powder works wonderfully for finishing any makeup look! I have tried other brands mineral finishing powders and dusts and either the color or texture or something is off and I keep coming back to this! I have fair to light skin and I feel that this helps brighten my skin slightly as well as add a nice soft focus finish over my mineral or liquid foundation in any brand! It may not be the least expensive, but definitely not the most expensive loose powder you could try, but I have found it to be the best for my sensitive dry skin! Just remember when using any powder on your face to really hydrate your skin well before and you will have no problems! 07/16/2014
Mineral Veil I love mineral veil. I've used 2 different shades over the years and both have worked very well for me. I think if you try it, you will love it too 07/16/2014
In small amounts it's awesome I am 26 and have oily skin so the idea of a shimmering powder did not seem appealing, but I wanted to try it. It's actually great, except I use a tiny bit less than the original veil so that my skin won't be shiny. I personally don't think it's too shimmery, but that may be because I don't use much at a time. 07/15/2014
way too shining I like the original version, so was very excited to try the illuminating. I wish I had listened to the other reviews here... It is just way TOOOO SHINING !! I think I will get a hydrate one and use the illuminating one as a highlighter... 07/13/2014
Can't live without I love the original MV. When I first purchased the original foundation 12 years ago I used it alone and I wasn't impressed. Then I went back to the botique and purchased the original MV. I've never used this product as a finisher b/c it seemed counter intuitive to put white powder on top of foundation so I've always used it as a base and what a difference. For some reason it adds coverage to the foundation. The foundation does not look the same without MV as a base. I have not sensitive skin, but hyper-sensitive skin and I can't use many makeups. I've tried all brands and I always come back to BE b/c MV is comfortable, a great base, and great for hyper-sensitive skin. DON'T EVER STOP MAKING ORIGINAL BE PRODUCTS. MY SKIN HATES THE READY LINE. 07/12/2014
So sad I have extremely dry skin, and was disappointed the first time I used the bare minerals foundation and this veil as they seemed to really accentuate my dry patches. I was applying this mineral veil beneath my foundation as I have been told that can help relieve the itchiness that newbies get when first using bare minerals. It is true that my face seems less itchy when using this beneath my foundation. BUT, I absolutely cannot use it to go over my foundation because it makes my face look horribly dry. I am not sure if it is a particular ingredient in this that is causing this reaction, but it is just awful and totally ruins the work I have put into my foundation. Really wish I could have the experience most people have with this, that it would finish everything beautifully, but it is just not the case for me. Maybe I can try the hydrating one in the future, but for now I am probably going to have to search for a different product to finish my face with (such as a setting spray). 07/10/2014

I've tried this before and wouldn't recommend it. For some reason it doesn't work very well with the Bare Minerals foundation overtop. Plus, it looks gorgeous as a finisher!

I would still recommend using a primer, but yes! Applying Mineral Veil under your foundation will really help keep oily shine away for the day.

Yes, you can apply it before the foundation. I like to do this in the Summer months as an extra oil barrier.

I've had many sales associates at the boutiques suggest using the mineral veil (either ready or original) as a FIRST step before foundation esp if you have oily skin.

What happened to the very light weight, colorless, hydrating Mineral Veil?? It was awesome! Because it was so light weight and colorless, you could do quick touch ups all the time without worry of "piling it on".

I use the fairly medium, which is the lightest of the medium colors in the matte foundation. The tinted mineral veil IS darker, but if you use it with smaller flawless face brush, it does not go on heavy at all. If you are heavy handed you could wind up with your face looking very dark.
I would say the color is very close to the MEDIUM matte foundation. I use tinted in a flawless face case as a touchup to absorb midday oil and provide light coverage.

I use medium beige foundation, and tinted looks just fine with my skin tone. If you're unsure, try to find a boutique to go in and try it.

If you're referring to the tinted mineral veil then the picture makes it look darker than it actually ends up being on your face.

I mix mine with a little AOFC bare radiance and it's perfect - I use fairly light foundation.

The bottom of the container says 6g/0.21 oz. I think they call this a "medium" size - not as big as a regular Mineral Veil, but not a travel or sample size by any means.
