Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner - null
Not for me... :(
I am a FAB member and was sent a sample pencil for free a while back. (Thank you!) :) I love BE products but have had problems finding an eye liner that stays in place, and hoped this would be the solution. Unfortunately this one did not stay on nearly as well as the previous eye liner pencil BE had available. :(
My one and only BE disappointment
I have used almost exclusively Bare Minerals for probably 20 years or close to it. In my entire life I have never been able to wear eyeliner because I have deep set eyes and it always ends up on upper eye. Then you came out with Around the Clock and I was told it WILL stay on. In disbelief, I tried it and it was fantastic! Never before was I able to wear eyeliner for the whole day until I removed it at night but I finally could and was thrilled. Then you discontinued it. By the reviews I can see many many of us were more than disappointed.
I saw people mentioned it being soft or hard to sharpen but I keep mine in the fridge and it was the perfect solution. LL comes off in a very short time and ends up on my upper eyelid. I'm not sure what the benefit was for you to discontinue ATC but I can't imagine what would be so difficult about having an option for us. Please please bring ATC (midnight) back. Love BE except for this product.
I like the twist up, but the don't last long enough.
I love BE & have been using their makeup & skincare for 10+ years. I loved the Around the Clock pencils. Some of the colors were softer than others, so I had to learn how to apply them more carefully, but they lasted ALL DAY.
I was hoping this was a twist up version of the Around the Clock pencils, but they do not last nearly as long. I still use them as they are serviceable, and I've used up most of my Around the Clock stock. But, I WISH the pencils were still available. It would be great if BE would bring back the Around the Clock pencils as an alternative.
I was a loyal user of the Weather Everything Drops (I am rationing the partial bottle I have left for special occasions), and loved that it stayed on through rain, tears, showers, and snow. This new eyeliner is a distant second to the drops. The product is easy to apply and goes on smoothly with a nice crisp line (for those who want the liquid look). The initial look is perfect, however, it does not last. My eyes are smudged half way through the day and the lines are faded by the end of the day. Any tears, rain, etc. ruin the look. I still have high hopes that BM will bring back a liquid liner with the staying power that the Weather Everything drops had!!
Non-Lasting Eyeliner - Please Bring Back Round-The-Clock!!
I used the "Round the Clock" liners for several years and loved them. They were the only true "long-lasting" liner pencils I ever found at any price point. Now that they apparently are discontinued I assumed this product would be as good or better.....WRONG!!
I have used Bare Minerals brand for at least 10 years - foundations, make up, brushes - and love the quality as well as the look, feel, and positive effects on my skin. But, these pencils were a big disappointment and a total waste of money. Sad to say that I purchased them at Sephora, so I doubt I can return for a refund or exchange.
The two I purchased were the orchid and the charcoal shades and they will be thrown out. I tried them on bare skin with the same sorry result - thinking that maybe my moisturizer had caused the problem. I have tried the powder and liquid eyeliners as well, but the shape of my eyes plus the fine, crepey texture of my lids just doesn't work with them compared to the pencils.
To the Product Team at Bare Minerals: PLEASE BRING BACK THE ROUND-THE-CLOCK EYELINERS!!!
I absolutely, one-hundred percent, with all my heart LOVE BE. I absolutely, one-hundred percent, with all my heart LOATHE this eyeliner. The customer service has been great though. First one I received was broken and they replaced it ASAP. I can't make the horrid sharpener on the end work (maybe I'm just ignorant?) and, once it does finally sharpen, I've wasted the vast majority of the product. Application is TERRIBLE. It looks like my two year old son has done my makeup... and I've successfully used every other eyeliner I've tried IN THE CAR (powders, pens, pencils, liquids, gels, etc.); not this one. I can't make it look like I want even with perfect lighting and a great setup. This one is a BE fail; sorry, not sorry. I love you all so much and my eyes were the only reason I ever tried BE over 10 years ago - they're very sensitive and I tend to look as though I've used illicit substances if I use any other products. I don't know what to do now... I haven't had unlined eyes in several years. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Side-note: I will forever be exclusively BE... I'm just a bit lost ATM. I don't daily rock the completely smokey look and I feel forced.
This eyeliner works good if you like to line under the bottom lashes, but it does not stay on the eye above the bottom lashes as well as the "around the clock" eyeliner.
Not quite what I expected
I was looking at this product for awhile, trying to decide if I should buy it if not. Overall, I like the eye liner, but it isn't quite perfect.
The application is very smooth, but I have to make multiple lines to get the boldness I am looking for. Even then, it doesn't last 12 hours, which I want. The blender isn't necessary because the pencil is so soft. Also, when I chose orchid, I thought it would actually be purple. Not so. It's more of a chestnut-plum. I like wearing brown eyeshadow with this eyeliner (better than purple shades). I'm making it work, even if it falls short of what I expected.
Best of both worlds!
I have been a fan of the loose liner shadows for a long time, but occasionally used the Big & Bright pencils. They had nice play time (enough time to smudge before they set), but didn't seem to last as long as I would like. Then I received some Round the Clock pencils with kits - great, long-lasting wear, but you'd better hope you put them on where you want them the first time, because there is no time to adjust or smudge or anything before it's locked in for the day. And sharpening them was a nightmare! I even tried sticking them in the freezer in an effort to firm them up for sharpening, but it didn't help. These Lasting Line pencils seem to be a great balance between the long wear of the RTCs and the smudge-time and sharpening ease of the B&Bs. I find that they go on easily and show up just fine (I have the black and navy), and they last all day (I do use the BE shadow primer). I find myself gravitating to these now even more than the loose liner shadows. I will be adding some other shades to my stash.
not nearly as nice as Round The Clock
I found that this liner drags across my powder shadow ... you have to press too hard and it hardly shows (endless orchid). No need for that silly smudging thing on the end... it already LOOKS smudged! For those who had trouble sharpening the round the clock... I had to go back and purchase one of the sharpeners... once I did I had no problem. and I had both the brown and the plum. I won't buy another one of these.
