Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner - null
Non-Lasting Eyeliner - Please Bring Back Round-The-Clock!!
I used the "Round the Clock" liners for several years and loved them. They were the only true "long-lasting" liner pencils I ever found at any price point. Now that they apparently are discontinued I assumed this product would be as good or better.....WRONG!!
I have used Bare Minerals brand for at least 10 years - foundations, make up, brushes - and love the quality as well as the look, feel, and positive effects on my skin. But, these pencils were a big disappointment and a total waste of money. Sad to say that I purchased them at Sephora, so I doubt I can return for a refund or exchange.
The two I purchased were the orchid and the charcoal shades and they will be thrown out. I tried them on bare skin with the same sorry result - thinking that maybe my moisturizer had caused the problem. I have tried the powder and liquid eyeliners as well, but the shape of my eyes plus the fine, crepey texture of my lids just doesn't work with them compared to the pencils.
To the Product Team at Bare Minerals: PLEASE BRING BACK THE ROUND-THE-CLOCK EYELINERS!!!
I absolutely, one-hundred percent, with all my heart LOVE BE. I absolutely, one-hundred percent, with all my heart LOATHE this eyeliner. The customer service has been great though. First one I received was broken and they replaced it ASAP. I can't make the horrid sharpener on the end work (maybe I'm just ignorant?) and, once it does finally sharpen, I've wasted the vast majority of the product. Application is TERRIBLE. It looks like my two year old son has done my makeup... and I've successfully used every other eyeliner I've tried IN THE CAR (powders, pens, pencils, liquids, gels, etc.); not this one. I can't make it look like I want even with perfect lighting and a great setup. This one is a BE fail; sorry, not sorry. I love you all so much and my eyes were the only reason I ever tried BE over 10 years ago - they're very sensitive and I tend to look as though I've used illicit substances if I use any other products. I don't know what to do now... I haven't had unlined eyes in several years. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Side-note: I will forever be exclusively BE... I'm just a bit lost ATM. I don't daily rock the completely smokey look and I feel forced.
This eyeliner works good if you like to line under the bottom lashes, but it does not stay on the eye above the bottom lashes as well as the "around the clock" eyeliner.
Not quite what I expected
I was looking at this product for awhile, trying to decide if I should buy it if not. Overall, I like the eye liner, but it isn't quite perfect.
The application is very smooth, but I have to make multiple lines to get the boldness I am looking for. Even then, it doesn't last 12 hours, which I want. The blender isn't necessary because the pencil is so soft. Also, when I chose orchid, I thought it would actually be purple. Not so. It's more of a chestnut-plum. I like wearing brown eyeshadow with this eyeliner (better than purple shades). I'm making it work, even if it falls short of what I expected.
Best of both worlds!
I have been a fan of the loose liner shadows for a long time, but occasionally used the Big & Bright pencils. They had nice play time (enough time to smudge before they set), but didn't seem to last as long as I would like. Then I received some Round the Clock pencils with kits - great, long-lasting wear, but you'd better hope you put them on where you want them the first time, because there is no time to adjust or smudge or anything before it's locked in for the day. And sharpening them was a nightmare! I even tried sticking them in the freezer in an effort to firm them up for sharpening, but it didn't help. These Lasting Line pencils seem to be a great balance between the long wear of the RTCs and the smudge-time and sharpening ease of the B&Bs. I find that they go on easily and show up just fine (I have the black and navy), and they last all day (I do use the BE shadow primer). I find myself gravitating to these now even more than the loose liner shadows. I will be adding some other shades to my stash.
not nearly as nice as Round The Clock
I found that this liner drags across my powder shadow ... you have to press too hard and it hardly shows (endless orchid). No need for that silly smudging thing on the end... it already LOOKS smudged! For those who had trouble sharpening the round the clock... I had to go back and purchase one of the sharpeners... once I did I had no problem. and I had both the brown and the plum. I won't buy another one of these.
Another Great Powder Lost
Oh no! Yet another wonderful powder product has bitten the dust only to be replaced by a less effective pencil. The powder eyeliner was great but the eyeliner pencil leaves much to be desired. Powder is subtle but long lasting while the pencil is barely noticeable and doesn't last. Bring back the powder and don't mess with proven success!
Thank you, Bare Minerals, for listening to us!
As a lover of the Big and Brights, I was very upset when I found out they had been discontinued. I was lucky to live an hour from an outlet and stocked up and, thankfully, still have some!!! I tried the Round the Clocks and HATED them. Because of medications for an illness, I don't have a steady hand and the Round the Clocks are so unforgiving... And they aren't meant to smudge... I have some in my vanity with the plastic still on them that I can't give away. I don't personally know anyone who likes them. When I received this black Lasting Line in the mail to try, I stared at it on my vanity for a week or so. It is hard to part from the Big and Brights that I love. But I have three Lasting Lines now and purposely waited a few months to give it an honest review. I can say I do still prefer the Big and Brights, but I feel that this eye liner is more of an in between (very close to the B&B) the B&B and the RTCs. These seem to be softer and creamier than the B&B, but still has the smudger and comes with the sharpener built in. These smudgers are softer and shaped differently, having the point makes them easier to use. I have the Absolute Black, Always Charcoal and Lasting Brown. I, now, won't cry when my B&Bs run out and change to another brand for eyeliner because I seriously was going to before when I used and only had the option of the Round The Clocks. Those are some of the poorest reviewed products on the site and I am SOOO happy Bare Minerals listened to us. Please, in the future, if it isn't broken, don't fix it!!! If you want to introduce a product and try new things, please don't discontinue a popular and highly rated product until you KNOW you have come up with something better because WE have told you it is better. And why must you only offer one type of eyeliner and several types of mascara? Why can't we have the B&B AND the Lasting Lines???
Best eyeliner ever!
I simply don't understand the few reviewers that say the color does not show up. One quick swipe across the eyelid and my eyeliner is absolutely opaque and does not need any going over at all. Plus it's on until I remove it with BE eye makeup remover. Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner glides on smoothly for a dark, non-smear, tight or bold line.
I purchased the Orchid color and am getting the same issues with the color not being at all dark enough to actually wear. Had to go back to my old "go to" eye liner so I could go to work. Very disappointed in this product.
last try for me
I had good results with the Round the Clock eyeliner and was sad to find it discontinued. This product does not glide on well and so I have to push a lot to apply. I was surprised as this is the only product that I ever had problems with from BE.
With my old eyeliner, I was really having to press so hard to get any color, and it took forever to build the look I wanted. This liner is completely the opposite! It is super smooth and goes on really, really easily. This liner lasted over twelve hours with no fading (I used bare minerals eyelid primer). I bought the nonstop navy color, and will say that it is probably a bit darker than I was thinking it would be, but I wasn't bothered by that. Also, it seems that quite a bit of liner gets used when applying, but maybe that's just because I haven't adjusted to pressing less hard yet. I would recommend this to others struggling with their current liner and looking for a smooth, long-lasting liner.
I have always used Clinique's eye liner. It was the only part of my makeup routine that wasn't BE. I bought the Bare Minerals Birthday Kit at Ulta which included the Absolute Black Lasting Line Eyeliner. I can finely say that every piece of make up in my bag is Bare Minerals. This eyeliner goes on smoothly and stays on all day. I constantly rub my eyes and have not had any issues with the eyeliner smudging or disappearing through the day. I also love the built-in sharpener!
After being very disappointed with the Round the Clock eyeliner I am so happy that Bare Minerals listened to their customers and came up with this eyeliner. I love that it is twistable again and that it has the built in sharpener. All of the mess and of the Round the Clock is gone! It's easy to apply, stays put and comes off easily with make up remover. It is everything I want in an eyeliner. Thank you!!
Not a fan...
This is the first product from Bare Minerals that I have been disappointed in. Just as another reviewer said, it showed up well on my hand, but is hardly visible on my eyes. I feel like I have to go over and over to get any color. Please give us another option.
Not a Fan...Bring Back `Round the Clock
I am a huge BE fan...I have loved every product ever purchased. This eyeliner, however, giant fail in my book. Nothing is as good as `Round the Clock. It went on creamy and stayed on from morning til I washed my face before bed. Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner is nothing in comparison. I put it on at 7:30am and it was off by 11am...and I didnt touch my eyes nor were they watery. I hope BE brings back RTC. I only have a little left. I was hoping that I'd be as equally satisfied with this one and not have separation anxiety over an eyeliner! :(
Very disappointed in this product.
I have never used a BM product I didn't like until this eyeliner. I purchased it in the Lasting Brown and while it went on and stayed on just fine, the product continually broke.
I was never able to sharpen it into a point no matter what I tried. Every single time I tried, it broke. I did everything that was recommended to prevent breakage and nothing worked. I ended up using it with a "dull" tip and still had issues with breakage. Probably wasted at least half the product.
I could not be more disappointed in this product and will not purchase again. It is a total waste of $$.
I was disappointed when the Big and Bright Eyeliner was discontinued in favor of the Round the Clock, so I am so happy to have the Lasting Line, which is very similar to the Big and Bright! The Round the Clock irritated my eyes and flaked. Plus not a fan of sharpening. Thanks for the Lasting Line! Now if you would bring back the granite color and add it to the new line, it would be perfect!
Great product, much better fix!
This eyeliner is a great improvement from the "round the clock" eyeliner. The liner is soft but not as soft as the Round the clock eyeliner. I have very sensitive skin around my eyes and this eyeliner does not bother them at all. I also love that this eyeliner can last from the morning I put it on up to late that evening without the need to touch up. Great product!
It is also great to know that Bare Escentuals is a company that listens closely to their customers! I had receive a wonderful response from the company just for commenting on their products - You have made me a customer for life! Thanks for doing such a wonderful job and thanks for making a product that with such great quality!
No sharpening. Primer a must.
I have this liner in Blue and Black. It is OK but not great. The only improvement I can see is the no mess of sharpening like the round the clock liners. It wears off Very quickly unless you use a primer. Then it is just OK. It tugged (the blue one) somewhat my eyelid which I did not like at all. Maybe it was older?? I had hoped for an improvement of the round the clock which issues were the very bad sharpening issues and drying out. But, at least It went on smoothly when new and it wore like iron once set. I probably will not get more of these. They need the round the clock formula in a pot with a liner brush. Just a thought.....
I wanted to like it...
I have tried this eyeliner and am very disappointed. I don't feel it glides on anywhere near as nicely as Round the Clock eyeliner and cannot express enough my sadness that Round the Clock is being discontinued. 10 pm eyeliner (very difficult to find, but I've been resourceful) has been my staple for two years.
Not the Best
I was one of those who loved the Round the Clock eyeliners, and I was extremely disappointed when I heard they were being phased out. But, I love bareMinerals, so I decided to try the new Lasting Line. I prefer to use purple eyeliner, but thus far I have been disappointed with the "Endless Orchid" shade. It shows up great when I try it on my hand, but goes on very faint on my lashline, to the point that it isn't very visible. To get the color I want, I need to press harder, which is rather uncomfortable. I'm hoping that I can figure out a better way to work with the liner so I can get the color I want, but for now, it's difficult to work with.
Love this eyeliner
I could not be more pleased with this new eyeliner. Best of all, I was asked to try it for "free" because I was so disappointed in the previous version. The pencil itself is better and does not break off as easily. I love the way it smudges and it lasts all day without smearing. I will definitely try other colors. And thank you for asking me to give my opinion on this one.
Didn't care for this liner
I love BM products but this liner is too difficult to apply. It goes on too light and you have to press too hard to get any color out of this liner.
Lasting Line/Absolute Black
Thank you to BE and FAB! I received this liner in the mail.....I must say that this is quite an improvement, compared to Round the Clock for me.. (I was not a fan) This liner glides on easy, blends easily.. I use the BE eyelid primer...and has lasted me up to 12 hours, with maybe one touch up. It even lasted thru the St. Pat's Day parade! But most of all, I have retired my beloved Kajal liners. This liner was also easy to remove for me with a water proof eye make up remover. Love this! Thank You!
Thank you BE!
As a loyal customer, I've been patiently waiting for BE to come out with a twist up liner and as a FAB member, I was sent a sample pencil for free. As a model, I don't have time to worry about sharpening eye pencils in between shots, which makes this pencil perfect for on the go glamour!
While i really like the eyeliner, the sharpener is worthless! I have wasted about half of the eyeliner trying to get it sharpened to some what of a point. The pencil is too soft for the type of sharpener it comes with. I read most of the reviews and am surprised no one else has mentioned this. I have tried all things the "experts" have said, including not using any pressure when attempting to sharpen and it does not work. It is probably the first item that has disappointed me in 15+ years of using bare minerals. Please fix this.
Like this much better than the other stick
This wears well and doesn't take as much eyeliner as the other eyeliner did. It doesn't clump and stays put. I recommend it.
Just Like the Original
Glad to see that the product is back to the original. Love the ability to twist the liner up and down. Great Product.
Finally, the perfect eyeliner!
I have been looking for a while, well since BE quit making their last version of the twist-up eyeliner. I've tried others and did not like them. So I've been using an alternate product for a while now. As a member of the FAB club, I was sent a sample of this eyeliner. I love it and am totally hooked. It goes on easily and smoothly and doesn't disappear halfway through the day. My eyes still look great in the evening. Thanks BE and FAB! I will use this one for as long as you keep it in your bag of tricks.
