bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Not a Fan.
The foundation is great at first, for like 5 minutes. When putting powder on after the foundation, about 10 minutes later my whole face looked patchy like I had excessively dry skin, which is not the case at all because in addition to the cakey, dry look it made my skin SO OILY. I've had the foundation for a week and it has caused me to break out like crazy. I originally came to this website to look up the product and confirm that there is oil in it, which it says there is not. Hard to believe. If you touch your face AT ALL, even just to pull your hair back the make up gets EVERYWHERE. I've tried wearing the foundation alone and also with powder; it does not make a difference. It's horribly oily, too liquified and too messy. I've gone through quite a few oil sheets throughout the day. I have continued to try to wear it because it's not cheap and I need foundation but I went ahead & bought the original powder foundation and also bought another more expensive brand's liquid foundation instead, which I know works because I cannot continue to use this. I'll stick to the original powder foundations and eye shadows from this brand from now on. The image I've posted is of the oil sheets I've used today with absolutely no other makeup on (not even eye shadow or mascara) except the foundation.
make up druggie
I have been using drug store make up since I started using make up, and could never find the "right" make up. They were either too pink, too heavy, made my skin look even more dry or too everything! Then one day my girlfriends mom came home with this product, and since I am a make up junkie, I just had to try it. After that first time use I was hooked! I would get complimented left and right about how porcelain my skin looked and how flawless my make up was. I am addicted! It feels like I have nothing on my face and for days that I do need that extra coverage, I just apply a little extra and it doesn't look cakey. Even though they're a bit more pricier then drug store, this product is worth every penny and actually lasts!
bareescentuals liquid founation
im not sure i like the new liquid i have used the mineral makeup for over 10 years and will not change it . i have combination skin and this just works for me and if i buff it just right it keeps from clinging to my clothes and everything i own. i recently tried the foundation liquid but it does have an odor that isnt pleasant and it makes my skin more oily the color isnt quite right for me i have been fold to send it back but it cost more than i want to spend since i wont be ordering it again ill keep it so i will stick with my mineral makeup and happy to get it thank you ....ps btw i didnt get my birthday gift yet and my birthday was sept 28 1954 thanks
This ended up being the perfect product for me.
*more natural than other brands
I love the concept of a makeup that heals your skin while offering the much desired coverage that we women want. This foundation legitimately buffs away flaws with the brush, and allows you to control just how much coverage you want.
One complaint is that it can smell "off" at times. My partner approached me and asked me what the smell was. Not very pleasant, but not always noticeable.
Not for me
This is a bummer because I was so excited to try this foundation. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it because of all the great reviews. Nope, not for me. This stuff looks great for 5 minutes then begins to separate, get oily, patchy, and rubs off if touched at all. I tried to set it with a powder only to discover it looking like a mask and adding 10 yrs to my appearance. I use the original foundation and have for about 4 yrs and am pretty happy with it. I thought I'd try a liquid thinking it would make my skin look younger and this was not the case, pretty much the opposite. I'll be sticking to the original which always works for me.
It feels great on my face!!!
I love the way it feels and looks on my face, however, the smell is very strong and unpleasant. My boyfriend can smell it every time I put it on. I will keep wearing it though. Please fix the aroma!!! :) Otherwise, it is amazing!!!!
I'm really liking this foundation and love that it has SPF in it BUT do not wear if you are going to take closeup pics with flash! It looked like my foundation didn't match my neck at all!! So glad I test makeup on my off days! Also, I've read that the brush isn't necessary to go along with the foundation so I bought a Real Techniques brush (The Expert Face Brush) for a 1/3 of the price and am really glad I did!
I loved it but.....
I tried the new BareSkin liquid foundation. I was skeptical of using a brush to apply liquid foundation but I thought I would try it. I absolutely loved the way it blended with my skin and how simple it was to apply. I loved the way it felt on my skin as well. HOWEVER, upon my first day to wear it my husband and my daughter on two separate occasions commented that my skin looked "weird". I am a devout Bare Minerals user and have been for years. They had no clue I had switched foundation but they both commented (separately mind you) that more pores looked bigger and my wrinkles were more defined. I tried one more time to wear it asking a friend what she thought and she said the same thing. So, it's back to my old mineral foundation. I am sad to have wasted the money, but I am so glad I tried it. Perhaps I am just too old or my skin is too abnormal for this product.
My Skin Shines Through
I was worried with trying liquid foundation because I'm afraid it'll be too heavy for my skin and make me look older. I absolutely love all the other foundations and haven't used liquid since my Bare Minerals conversion.
This changed my mind completely! No matter how much I put on my face it feels like nothing is there. It wears so nicely all day, and after 3 - 4 uses I can tell a significant improvement in my skin! The tone is evening out already! I do have to say, though, that there are 3 essentials when using this make-up:
1. The brush is specifically designed for this and makes putting on the liquid foundation even and seamless.
2. Eye Brightening concealer stick. This helps hide my dark circles and doesn't get cakey under this foundation.
3. Bare Skin mineral veil is also specifically designed for this foundation. I've used regular mineral veil, and it did just fine; however, this one is perfect for the foundation.
If you're still not sure, go and try it in a boutique. It'll make all the difference!
I tried the product. I really like the way it covers, but it has a strange smell that doesn't go away. it smells kind of like a soured wash cloth. it almost makes me not want to use it in fear that others can smell it.
Love this foundation
Historically I have used the Bare Minerals powder foundation and I have always liked it. I noticed that as I got older the powder would settle into my find lines. This gives me perfect coverage, lasts all day. I added in the Stroke of Light eye brightener and it is perfect! I think it is important to also used the Bareskin Perfecting Veil to finish it off.
I will definitely be purchasing again
The WORST foundation I've ever used
I went into my local ULTA to purchase some more foundation and was currently using Calvin Klein's 3 in 1 Foundation (which I loved but it was a bit to heavy for Summer). My mom told me about how great Bare Minerals is and how it would help my skin get the coverage I need without enhancing my breakouts. A consultant immediately referred me to this "great" new foundation and told me that it would be perfect for my type of skin. It wasn't. After just two days of use, I realized how much more oily my skin was than usual. It also made my have tons of tiny breakouts and left my skin feeling dirty and my pores feeling clogged. Because it was a bit of money (and I even purchased the brush to go with it) I tried to keep using it until it ran out. But it was just unbearable. The worst part was how the foundation would get all over my clothes and if I would sweat at all, it would drip down my neck causing me to break out there as well! I ended up wasting $40 on this horrible concoction and $30 on the brush. Immediately after I stopped using it my skin was better than ever. Do not waste your money.
Never liked liquid foundation until BareSkin!
I went with Bare Escentuals because I have combination skin prone to breakouts. I didnt want a heavy liquid foundation caked on my face all day long. I loved the original bare minerals but ventured out and tried Bare Skin. I cant go back to the powder, I love the Bare Skin so much! So easy to apply and absolutely perfect coverage. I had a bad rash covering my entire cheek one day and only using the BareSkin (no concealer or anything besides the moisturizer and clear-colored primer) the redness was COMPLETELY GONE! The picture I included doesnt do this justice but you can see how red my nose is without Bare Skin.
As a user of Bare Minerals powder foundation for about 6 years, I began to look for something that had more coverage. This liquid foundation is perfect! You can vary the amount of make up used based on how much coverage you need. However, the bottle has some deformities. Nearly every day, I shake the bottle per the instructions and when I open it, make up comes exploding out of the top. This is a huge waste of makeup, especially when you are only using a couple drops at a time. I love Bare Skin Foundation, but Bare Escentuals needs to work on the packaging a bit.
Flawless finish, but dries out skin
I applied the foundation without moisturizer (moisturizer is recommended in the tutorial). It takes 2 drops for each side of my face to give me a flawless, almost vampiric flawless, finish. It really is a great product. I like the end result, however it does dry out your face. About 10 minutes after I put it on my nose and cheeks started to peel/get dried out. I'm guessing the moisturizer will reduce this in the future. From far away I look fabulous, but close up, you can see the dryness. We'll try it with the moisturizer next time!
I love the Brightening Serum! It is something that now that I have found, I can't live without. My ONLY negative is that it clogs my pores, which as a devotee of the powder foundation I have never had to deal with before, but it's nothing that would keep me from using this great product.
Love the New Foundation - BareSkin
I absolutely love this new foundation. It really does make my skin look flawless. I have been using Bare Minerals since it first came out many years ago. However, at age 52, I needed a little more brigthening. This foundation has delivered exactly what it promises.
Great coverage, smells weird
It covers nicely without looking cakey. My only complaint is that it smells weird/bad, and the smell doesn't really go away.
This is the Most Amazing Product Ever!
I have tried a few foundations, serums and powders alike. Every powder was too loose and flakey looking, and every serum too heavy and suffocating. I am also on a budget, so I couldn't afford to fall in love with too pricy of a product in my search for perfection. When BareMinerals came out with bareSkin Serum, I stepped out on a limb and tried my chances... BEST $30 I have EVER spent in my life!!!!! The product is absolutely everything its made up to be and so much more, it blows everything out of the water—it is simply amazing and you won't regret your purchase for a second. This foundation makes your skin look SO GOOD that you could seriously forgo applying anything else in the morning and just bask in the simplicity of the au natural—let your flawless skin do the talking!
Love using this foundation. I use it daily. It's light enough to look like I have nothing on but heavy enough to hide the slight imperfections. Not oily at all. Feels like I have nothing on.
I hated it
I have been using bare minerals since 2005. I was so excited when they came out with this. I have tried so many liquid foundations and always hate them because the fell cakey. I HATED it. It looked nice for about 30 min. but is set into my lines and made my skin look scaley. I tried it with my typical moisturizer and Primer both BE. I tried it all different ways and always had the same results. I do not even have dry skin and it made my skin look dry. :( I wanted so badly to Love it.
Not great coverage, broke out from product.
I LOVE Bare Minerals products, and have used only Bare Minerals for almost 10 years. I was glad to see a liquid foundation thinking it would help with small lines around the eyes. I LOVED the color choices (03 was my color and it was perfect). I was a disappointed in the coverage, thought the powder did much better. After wearing the makeup for about 4 days, I started breaking out! I have had NO problems with all the other Bare Minerals products.
Finally the perfect foundation!
I've always thought foundation, specifically liquid, was way too heavy. However, I decided to give BareMinerals new liquid foundation a try, and I absolutely love it! It definitely brightens the skin, a difference I saw as applying to one side of my face. The foundation, however, does not feel heavy or like it's suffocating my skin. Great work, BareMinerals!
This foundation was actually my introduction to Bare Minerals. My friend and I went into the boutique on a whim when this was first introduced. I LOVE this foundation! I have finally found something that matches my very fair skin tone, offers variable coverage, and let's me enjoy my healthy, rosy cheeks. I love the SPF overage too. No sunscreen smell. Feels very light. However, I do tend to sweat more when I wear it. Other than that, I highly recommend it, and the brush that goes with it.
I have always hated liquid foundation because it made my skin feel sticky and disgusting. Even in high school some 25 years ago I didn't use a liquid. When companies began making powder foundations I was thrilled. Then when mineral foundations came out I was overjoyed! My skin has started aging and I noticed the loose mineral foundation had started settling into my fine lines and wrinkles. When BE released this serum foundation, I was skeptical. But as a loyal user of their products, I thought I would give it a try. Much to my delight, the serum solved the problem! It floats on my skin, weightless, and looks beautiful. I am often told I look 10 years younger than my actual age. I highly recommend this product, particularly for women over 40.
Good summer foundation
I am always on the hunt for the perfect foundation which is the right combination of color and texture. I generally need to get two colors and blend, but so far 03 Linen works for my slightly darker summer skin. I am between a 15 and 20 in MAC. I use all foundations over a primer and this one is no different. Starting with one drop on the palm of my hand, I dab the brush into the product, then tap and swirl to apply. This gives nice coverage and extremely light texture, sometimes adding another strategic layer if needed. I do not drop the product into the well of the brush as it is unbelievable as to how much product accumulates there and does not wash out without destroying your brush.
My major complaint is that the blender beads clog up the tip of the container and getting the product out can be very challenging at times so again there are packaging improvement needs! I also liked the BB primer (light, nice coverage, spf) but returned it twice due to product separation which causes pump issues, many reviewers commented similarly with that product.
I do not think that this color will work for me in the Winter, and there isn't a lighter neutral, so back to blending MAC until next Summer. Maybe the packaging will be fixed by then for both the foundation and BB primer.
Really great, and I was a skeptic!
Pros: Improved my skin, doesn't break me out, great coverage, brush is awesome, love the feel, velvety smooth, very natural looking, no makeup line
Cons: could be a problem for very dry, flakey skin. Moisturize though, because using this product will be a god send!
I would like to point out the affordability of this foundation. For the price and amount of uses you get out of it is amazing. You literally use just 2 tiny drops for your full face so the product lasts a long time. I also know there were a lot of people complaining about having to buy the brush. I have a solution for you! I used my realTechniques buffing brush and it worked magically! And that brush costs a fraction of the bareMinerals one!!!
I live in Canada, so I wasn't able to try this product when it first came out, but I tried it the first chance I got because I was so curious! I went into a boutique and had someone put it on me, and I was very impressed with how weightless it feels and how even the coverage is. I bought some, and have been wearing it almost every day since. I still love the feeling of it, and its effective coverage, and I love that it's not scented and I don't feel like I'm wearing "liquid" makeup. The only reason I didn't give it 5/5 is that every now and then, I notice that a bit of it has collected in the crease on either side of my nostrils, and it looks kind of greasy and I have to wipe it away. I don't know if that's because I put too much on around that area or what, but it doesn't happen every day, just once in a while. If I make sure to bring my touch-up veil with me, I don't have any problems with that though, I can just touch up throughout the day and I'm good to go. Overall, best liquid foundation I've ever tried!
skeptic turned believer
i was never into this line of makeup because i felt like the infomercials were overly dramatic. my mom brought me home a sample of this foundation, not only did the color blend seamlessly with my skin tone but its so soft and doesn't sink into any pores or lines. i honestly was like wooooaaa omg. my skin looks airbrushed. lol i sound like one of the infomercials i was so against.
