bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Get the dang brush! > worth it♡
This foundation is amazing for people with sensitive skin. I have acne prone skin and some scarring that resulted from it, but this covers up all of my scars and any current blemishes with one application. My face looks flawlessly airbrushed. I've bought BE matte powder foundations before, and this product blows that out of the water.
Because of the formula, YOU WILL NEED THE MATCHING BRUSH. If you don't want to spend your money on a makeup brush, then don't bother to buy it. The foundation doesn't spread right without it.
Not your best effort BE
This foundation isn't great. I haven't tried many products that I don't like in the BE line, but this is terrible. The colors are really off! Nothing in this line matches my shade and it doesn't absorb into your skin. It sits on top and feels cakey. I was really disappointed because I wanted to love this. Please fix the shades!
I love this product!
Since starting to use this product, I have gotten many compliments on my skin tone, and people are amazed when I tell them I am wearing makeup! Applying with the perfecting face brush is a must!
I'm very pale. I thought I got the right shade. It looked good in the mirror. In natural light I looked orange. Maybe my fault, maybe the product, but I wasn't happy with it. Also needed a lot more than the recommended drop number to get full coverage. I won't be buying this product again.
I never wear liquid foundations, I always stuck with Bare Minerals Original Foundation but this stuff is amazing... very light feel and the perfect coverage. I don't understand any of the negative reviews! There is very little smell and it applies perfectly. I definitely recommend using the precision face brush to apply... I think that this one works the best.
Glad I tried this.
I used to wear the bare minerals powder foundation in my 20's and 30's but after 40 it didn't work well on me anymore, seemed to "settle in the lines". I saw a woman at a cookout and her makeup looked beautiful so I asked her what she was wearing and she said the pure brightening serum so I went to Ulta and found my color (ironically same as hers), Today is the first day I wore it, but it went on smoothly, I loved the coverage - just right, even had it on this afternoon for a spin and yoga class and it help up well. I have sensitive skin so time will tell on that, but so far I really like it.
I find this to be one of the best foundations I have ever used. I have stayed away from liquid foundations because I found them to clog my pores. This is not the case with bareSkin Foundation.
My one complaint is that it is very difficult to determine when the product is running out. I believe either a clear container or maybe a clear strip along the side would be beneficial.
I suffer from acne. Bumps and scars, the whole mess. I tried bare minerals powder and it looked cakey as I had to put quite a bit on since the coverage was awful. I gave bare minerals another shot and purchased bare skin. I was quite disapointed. The liquid is super oily which is messy and causes the already super oily parts of my face to breakout. It provides quite good coverage but it does not look natural. If you like the look of very luminous skin then this foundation is good. I prefer a more matte look. In the sunlight my skin looked WAY to shiny for my liking.
It also is AWFUL for wrinkles. Im 21. I do not have wrinkles. However, when I raise my eyebrows I create lines on my forehead. The foundation sinks into these lines and creates the look of wrinkles which stay on my face until I re-blend. So every time I raise my eyebrows I have to reblend, which is more than annoying. This foundation also feels heavy for some reason. It has an apparent odor which is really annoying since im not one to wear heavy prefumes to mask the scent.
Back to searching for a good everyday, natural looking acne covering foundation.
Acne-prone peeps BEWARE
I have used this product for the last month and a half and have loved it every single day. The last week I have gotten an uncontrollable about of large, red, puffy pimples - currently I have TEN! I took the product to the lady that does my facials, as this is the only thing I've really changed about my skin routine. She took one look at the ingredients and noticed right away that this was no good. "Coconut Alkanes are one of the most comedogenic ingredients." BEWARE PEOPLE! This product is advertised to be good for all skin types and NON-COMEDOGENIC, etc. etc. but it is not!
Irritated My Skin
I have sensitive skin and have never had problems with Bare Minerals original foundation. I decided to switch and give this a try and it irritated my face so badly! My face started burning and then tiny bumps started popping up. My entire face is bright read and HURTS it looks like I had a chemical peel!
I wanted to love this product
I tried this product for the first time today. The liquid is messy and coverage on your face is spotty. I've heard the good reviews and decided to try the product but it didn't work for me the first time. When I purchased the bottle I didn't buy the special brush that is supposed to be used so I just applied it with my fingers. Maybe if I had the brush it would have been better and easier to use.
I really wanted to like this...
I've been using bare minerals original foundation for the last decade and love it. I was really excited and intrigued when they launched bare skin because I've never used a liquid foundation but have always been curious. I ordered the starter kit that included the brush so many rave about. I was so excited when this arrived and immediately tried it out. Having not used a liquid before, I tried hard not to get discouraged when I hated the application the first time and optimistically said I'd try it again the next day when I had more time to play with it. After about 8 separate attempts to make this work, with primer, with cc cream, with nothing underneath, with and without mineral veil, and every single time I thought "there's no way I can actually wear this in public, I just feel weird with it on my face". The shade match was fine. It just feels strange and it's difficult to obtain decent coverage. The brush is a bust and I don't understand how people like it. It's just a total fail all the way around for me. I was highly disappointed.
I love this product.
When I first tried this product, I was surprised at how light it was on my skin. I can barely feel it. The really nice thing is that it covers blemishes (it's buildable!) and it has NO preservatives. I used to get such bad breakouts from face makeup, but not anymore!
The Worst Product BM has ever made
I have been using BM original foundation for years. And Glee and Mineral Veil. But Bare Skin is awful. I went to a Boutique to have it put on me. The coverage was way too heavy. You could see every line on my face. It never soaked in at all. It just sat there. I could wipe a finger across my cheek long after it was applied and it would wipe off like a lotion just put on. The boutique worker agreed it was way too much coverage for me. She even admitted that it was the most returned product they sell.
Start out with a kit, you need the brush!
I received a sample and thought what a mess! Why would I change from the powder mineral I have worn for at least 15 years.
Well they had a kit with the 28.00 dollar brush so I tried it one more time! I love it it is great. I use wrinkle repair, moisturizer, liquid foundation a splash of bronzer and a lite cover of veil. The moxie lip color and some mascara. Sounds like a lot but literally 4 minutes and I am out the door! You need the brush. I shake the bottle remove the lid and use 1 drop, tap it lightly all over my face and smooth it with the brush the more the better when buffing.
Love this, but please do something about the bottle!!
I love this product!!! It feels great and looks great! Application is a breeze. There is only one problem, and that's the bottle...it leaks and makes a HUGE mess! Plus, it is causing me to waste a lot of the product.
I read about this over and over on the online reviews, but decided to order anyway, vowing to be extra careful. Despite the fact I've been extra careful, it still leaks and I spend more time cleaning the bottle and the mess it makes than I do applying it.
Please, BE, do something about this!!!
Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with it!
Very pleased : second time around
The first time I got tan and didn't get the brush. The brush is a must! I hated the color the first time, I am a warm skin tone and this is for yellow undertones and hence I sent it back. They had a kit the had the brush a small bottle of the bare skin only this time I got bare latte 11: perfect color and I certainly do not look my age (this helps a lot). Highly recommend but you must get the brush
I love this makeup. It goes on smoothly. it looks very natural and its brightening. It doesn't clog my pores and I don't feel like I have to touch it up with a powder. This is a fantastic foundation. I can't wait to try other bare minerals products :)
So I went into Sephora and walked passed this and couldn't resist not to look at this! I found my shade, and asked for a sample (I'm a sample person). They gave a sample and when i got home threw it in my makeup bag and forgot about it for a while. A week or so later i tried it before I left for the day i applied it and wasn't happy. I watched a couple of videos recently and found out i applied it wrong (i sort of just wiped it on and blended). Throughout the day it sat in my skin and moisturized it (i have dry skin). At first it looked like it was waxed on to my face. I applied to much product and learnt that it actually is AMAZING! It gives a very natural finish if you apply it correctly and blend and buff. It didn't wipe off or anything. The only thing i would recommend is that for oily people remember to touch up with some sort of powder throughout the day because you will feel like a puddle of oil. It did wipe of just a tiny bit in my T zone but otherwise i highly recommend it!
I wasn't too impressed
I was so excited to try this foundation, when I shake it I notice it leaks a bit, other people are saying it's great coverage, that's why I bought it, I have some scars from acne and a few breakouts and when I wore this foundation, it almost looked as if I had no makeup on. You can see all my problem areas still :( also it made my skin look very, shiny, is it supposed to? I applied it with the Perfecting Face Brush and I wasn't sure how much foundation I was supposed to put in the brush but I built it up and still felt like I wasn't getting any coverage. Maybe I wasn't using enough foundation or applying it wrong? Am I the only one that had this problem?
I have fair sensitive skin that's prone to breakouts. I get oily in some areas and dry patches in others. This foundation is strangely watery. After application it looked oily rather than dewy. The coverage is moderate but buildable. I hate that my face feels greasy when I wear it alone. However, it works well if I wear powder over it to absorb the excess oils.
Love this foundation
This product is amazing. Nice coverage without settling into pores or those pesky wrinkles. My skin looks smooth and younger. I have used one drop and that is plenty. The bottle is messy but storing it in an upright position has improved the issue. I've looked for a nice liquid foundation for a while, and this is perfect for me. Great product
Major Packaging Flaw
I love this product. Love, love, love it. The color bare shell is spot-on for my skin. The consistency is divine. It is buildable and sets just perfectly, however; I will not purchase another bottle until they figure out the packaging. It is utterly frustrating that the product totters between leaking inexplicably or becoming completely clogged. I've disposed of all three bottles that I have owned with what I believe to be a good quarter of product remaining in the bottle. It simply will not dispense. I've attempted "unclogging" with safety pins, etc... nothing. That, coupled with drops covering my counter and the fact that its just dang hard and cumbersome to use, has complete turned me off to an otherwise stellar product. Note that mine is part of a lengthy list of reviews from consumers with similar issues. Is anyone listening?
Great product Poor packaging
Loved this product after trying it during a visit to botique in local mall. I've been a user of bareMinerals powder foundation for years but loved bareSkin so much thought I would give it a try. I'm not one to write reviews but my frustration has reached a level that I now feel I must share with others. This product is expensive and I'm fed up with watching it disappear due to leaking out of the bottle. After shaking (required) the foundation erupts out of the bottle leaving a gooey mess and $$$ worth of product in the garbage. I've tried shaking and letting it sit for a few seconds, or shaking and tapping bottle on counter to help it "settle," but neither method has worked. This foundation works well but the bottle will prevent me from ever buying again. Not worth the money once you consider the waste.
I really wanted to love this
I'll start off by saying that I've been using BM foundations for years. I have sensitive, acne-proned skin and started off using the original mineral foundation, then switched to the compact Ready foundation which is my absolute FAV. When BareSkin made its debut I was stoked because all other liquid foundations I've tried in the past have made me break out horribly. So I gave it a try.
I went into a boutique & got color matched and LOVED the result. HOWEVER, a week or two after using it I began to hate it. The packaging is horrible, SOOOO much product is wasted it's a shame considering the price.
2nd: This foundation gets on EVERYTHING. I use 2 drops, sometimes 3, if I need extra coverage. I use a primer, I set it with loose powder AND I use Urban Decays makeup setting spray and this foundation STILL will rub onto anything. Your hands, your phone, clothes, etc. I llve wearing liquid foundation but unfortunately I have to switch back to the compact Ready powder foundation.
Hate the bottle!
Love the product but like so many of the reviewers I hate the bottle. I have wasted soooo much of it from having it oozes from the top after shaking it and then opening it. Could I get that product back? It is a terrible design. Need a price reduction to compensate for all the waste. New bottle please!!
Very nice product but super messy
I don't know what to think about this. It's good foundation, makes your skin look very nice. BUT. Even you need only two or three drops of it, every single time at least another three drops goes to waste. This bottle leaks very bad, I don't know if I just had bad luck with it and it's not normal for the bottle. Foundation comes out as lava from volcano and the whole lid is very messy since it always leaks there. I keep the bottle in standing position so that shouldn't be a problem. It's a bummer to buy a 30 bucks foundation and 30 bucks brush when half (or more) of the foundation goes to waste and the brush is impossible to clean.
So two stars only because the foundation itself is perfect (5 stars).
smooth, nice color, use just a little hate the bottle
I also hate the bottle... it leaks, i end up using the stuff that has leaked out of the bottle rather than using a couple of drops, the cover cracked, need new delivery system,
Love the product. Hate the bottle.
I love the way it makes my skin look flawless and feel soft. The only problem I had was that the bottle leaks and the product oozes out of the top when removing the cap after shaking. It would be much more efficient with a pump dispenser.
I've tried this in 2 separate colors, 01 (Bare Porcelain) and 02 (Bare Shell). I'm really disappointed to see BE succumb to demands for a liquid foundation and have this be their solution. Unlike the mineral foundation, you can SEE this product sitting on top of your skin; it will 100% look like you are wearing makeup. It doesn't feel light on your skin either, you can feel it unlike their mineral foundation. Even with primer, it transfers onto clothing and if you scratch your face even as light as you can you'll have product caked under your fingernails. If I want the ease of liquid application, I use Na-PCA mixed with the mineral foundation and get awesome results without having to compromise.
