bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
im so in with this foundation serum. it has the best coverage. i start off with 2 droplets for half of my face.and that does full coverage for me.
some times i will do 1 droplet here and there and then original bare minerals powder over it and gives me the best coverage. its so amazing it covers everything it glides on , and u don't feel like ur wearing any foundation and that is one thing i luv about it. before using bare minerals i use to use other foundations and i would get hot flashes cause i felt like my skin could not breath. but ever since perfecting serum i do not get like that any more.
please try it and always make sure u shake the bottle before u use it.. u have to! to make sure it mixes since it doesn't have binders and all the bad stuff.. so don't forget shake it!!! before every use..
I'm from Hong Kong and I am a big fan of bareminerals since I used the matte powder foundation and the mineral veil. Then, I'm very curious on the bareskin so I went to the store and got one. However, after I used it for 3 consecutive days, my skin became very itchy and full of redness but I originally not sensitive skin. After my skin recovered, I gave one more chance to it but the result was just the same. I really wonder why it is so different from the powder foundation.
I was excited to try the new foundation which has fewer chemicals than the one I have used for years. I found it to be extremely greasy on my normal to dry skin. I had to apply powder several times a day. Unfortunately, I had to go back to my old foundation.
Packaging needs serious makeover
Love the product, however, I had to return mine to ULTA, because each time i used it, it bubbled out just as much. Please put it in a pump! I loved the way it felt, but just can't justify the overwhelming waste! New packaging, and it would get 5 hearts, no doubt! Bummed I had to go with another brand.
love the foundation makes skin look flawless but I was so disappointed with the size of the bottle in my auto delivery. I have also had an awesome experience with there customer service. I truly love every product I have ever used .I truly wish they would add more products like eyeshadows and complexion rescue to the auto delivery..
lLove bareSkin foundation
Love bare Skin foundation. It covers well and looks finished and is easy to apply. My only complaint about this products is the bottle. It leaks and gets very messy. At the price of the product there is a lot of waste from the leaking bottle. Please do something about the bottle because I love the product but, will have to find something else if this isn't rectified.
I really enjoy this foundation. I typically have dry skin and this foundation doesn't accentuate the dryness. It also gives me a flawless look! Love it.
Best foundation EVER but terrible packaging
This is the ONLY liquid foundation I have ever found that I can use every day. The brush is amazing and makes application a breeze. However, the bottle almost makes me want to find something else (almost...). It leaks everywhere and is a huge mess. I bought a new bottle because my old one was nearing the end and took way too much time to clean up then apply. I can't travel with it and am paranoid the bottle will tip over in my drawer. This is my favorite bare minerals product ever but PLEASE fix the bottle!!!!
Kinda love, mostly hate.
So I used the original foundation for years before switching to their compact Ready foundation. I loved that so much that I decided to try other Bare Minerals foundations out of curiousity. When I first put this makeup on, using the brush designed for it, I loved it! It looks great and so natural. However, it wore off very quickly and looked spotty. Within an hour, I look like a wreck. So I tried it with Bare Minerals Prime Time, but it still wore off. I added their mineral veil to my routine but still no change. I really wanted to love this, but I'm disappointed in Bare Minerals when it comes to this product. It also settles into my lines while somehow also laying right on top of my skin. It's very odd, but I wouldn't waste your money. Stick with what you know and love.
I like my bare skin better
The word 'serum' in it's name fooled me. I thought this would be like a tinted moisturizer- something that would moisturize my face. No. It does create coverage, but the result looks cakey. I used a sample packet and only used half of it so it's not like I used a whole lot. It doesn't spread well over skin either. It is not flawless. It made my skin more dry. I'd be curious to try their tinted moisturizer. But this product is the worst face makeup I've put on my face. I immediately took it off- I like my real bare skin way better than this makeup. Sample it before you buy.
Totally awesme with one big drawback
I absolutely loved how smoothly this makeup went on, and how build-able it was. It was much easier to get more coverage with it than with the original foundation which has been my product of choice for 5 years. However, thirty minutes after I put my make-up on I touched my face and the foundation was all over my hand. The foundation never dried or soaked in to my skin. Most likely after I get through the small bottle that came with the bare skin kit I will switch back to the Original Foundation or try the new Complexion Rescue Cream.
This product is amazing and flawless. And when you use the brush they recommend, it turns out even better! My new favorite product.
Love this product, please just fix the bottle!
Other than the bottle, this foundation is beautiful. I will keep using it.
Every time I use this, I waste product. I tilt the bottle to dispense a drop or two of the foundation, and then, when the bottle is standing upright on my counter, more comes out of the hole in the top! I've already taken what I need, so this extra often ends up dribbling down the top of the bottle and getting dried up, because there's no way to return it to the bottle. I'm not squeezing the bottle at all, just shaking it gently to dispense a drop or two. I would suggest changing to a pump bottle, or just a bottle with a cap, over this one.
Bottle Leaked over 1/2 product out into lid...
Over the time I had this, I didn't even get to use the full bottle! Every time you'd shake bottle to mix, etc., you'd open lid to find the foundation leaked all over. Even if it was just in my makeup bag between uses, the foundation would still somehow be leaking out into lid area, & outside of bottle was always oily feeling. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
I just started using this foundation about two weeks ago after getting matched at a BM Boutique and I love it! The coverage of the powder is good, but this is so much better for me on some of my problem areas. It truly makes my skin look flawless! I also purchased the brush and I think it is a great tool to use. Other liquid foundations I usually used my fingers, but never felt like I was getting a full, even application, and with the brush I feel like I get exactly that. One of the most helpful things I learned by going in is that they said to shake it from SIDE to SIDE, rather than up and down. This keeps it from oozing out of the top as soon as you open it. I have been doing that every time I've used it and I haven't any any problems with excess foundation being wasted.
I like the coverage because I don't need full coverage so that works for me. The design of the bottle is what I HATE! I wonder how much foundation is wasted from it involuntary oozing from the top. It creates a mess and then extra foundation is left inside the cap that I can't get to. It is definitely a waste of money.
BEST FOUNDATION EVER!
I absolutely love this foundation! Have used bare minerals powder foundation for 12+ years, as I got older it didn't work with my older skin. Tried many ....many foundations.....was not happy with any of them....decided i would have to settle with "ugly"....until i tried this foundation a few months ago!!! It is wonderful...... You HAVE to use the primer ...let that dry...then apply foundation (i prefer my fingers to the brush, it blends much better) and you HAVE to use the compact powder to set it. Thank YOU BARE ESCENTUALS!!! I have recommmended a lot of others to try this foundation as well!!!
More shades needed.
Though Bare Almond is a very good match to my skin color, its sad that Bare Minerals do not have more shades for women of color. Bare Mocha is the darkest shade and that shades does not come close to many many darker skinned tones women.
This is a foundation as for now I plan to be my go to foundation but I write the above statement in hopes that Bare Mineral will expand their palette to include more women skin tone.
I rarely write reviews but I just had to say I very much dislike this foundation. Although it is lightweight which is a plus, it smears like crazy on my skin. throughout the day it's almost completely wiped off the center of my face and starts to settle in my creases, eyebrows, and the outside of my face. I do apply with a brush then go through And blend as best as I can with a Beauty blender and add a fair amount of powder but i still look like a hot mess by the end of the day. No matter how much I apply it never seems to cover up my imperfections. And also, this morning I was trying to squeeze it out of the bottle and it wouldn't come out! I shook it up and could hear that at least half the bottle was full so I knew I couldn't have run out. Bare minerals prouducts are usually amazing but I was not impressed at all. I will not be repurchasing this.
unhappy with the overall product
i have used the powder foundation for years and thought I would give the liquid a try. I have found the product to be thin, it feels like there are little pieces of foundation on your skin that need to be wiped off and my skin looked and felt dry. I have used the eyeshadow, foundation, bronzer blush and mineral veil for years. This is the first product that I am very disappointed in. I won't be using the rest of the bottle and have switched to something else.
Good makeup, horrible product design
I love bare minerals and was really excited to try their liquid foundation. The make-up itself provides good coverage and conceals, but the container it comes in is extremely flawed. The makeup requires that you shake it before using. The container doesn't allow pressure to escape it in the way it should so once you shake it covering the top with your finger, when it's upright, it explodes makeup everywhere and leaks down the side. The cap also doesnt seal properly, so if you try to shake it with the cap closed, when you take off the top it'll leak. I've lost at least half the bottle from this.
Truly a shame because it's good makeup, but I won't be purchasing it again. Not worth investing in makeup that you only get half of the bottle.
coverage could be better
The color is nice, but the product sets in the creases and also becomes very shin . The primer and powder veil don't prevent this from happening.
Flawless and Natural
I love the bareskin foundation! It has excellent buildable coverage and buffs on flawlessly. I received compliments on it and comments on how it looked so natural and not cakey at all like other foundations. It's also a plus that it comes in so many shades to get a perfect match. I've tried all the bareminerals foubdations and this has still got to be my favorite.
The container is horrible! Every time I open my product the make up comes spewing out of the top and I have wasted more than I have used. On top of this Bare Minerals stresses the importance of shaking and mixing the product prior to use as it separated, which is virtually impossible when I open the container and the top layer of the product is always lost, so therefore I have never been able to experience the use of the entire product combined.
I got this foundation when I got my makeup done for prom and I LOVED it. Although a bit pricey it is worth every penny. I also purchased this product with the foundation brush which is amazing as well. I can't imagine myself finishing this foundation anytime soon and iIwear it about 5 days a week. Will definitely be buying this product again.
Switched from BE powder foundation & happy I did
I've been using BE's powder foundation for several years, particularly to control oil. As my skin care regimen and health have changed (both for the better), I noticed the powder foundation was starting to sit differently, and was way too light for my new skin tone - so I decided to try the liquid serum foundation in a shade darker than my previous.
I'm glad I switched! The color is perfect and coverage is great - it covers my pores better than the foundation, particularly in problem spots like the side of my nose, where I was having to buff in the powder to get proper coverage. The finish is lovely and feels weightless. I still have to start with spot coverage treatment for any blemishes, but that was the case with the powder foundation as well. The serum looks much more natural and "not even there" than the powder foundation has looked on me for a while.
I noticed a faint odor during application which vanished quickly, but nothing terribly offensive or even strong - it just smells like liquid foundation makeup. If there's one out there that smells like flowers and still works well, let me know, I've never run into it.
Other reviews warning about the packaging are probably true - I'm not planning on testing it, and I'm storing it upright - but will try and plug up the bottle before travelling to make sure.
I bit the bullet and also got the matching brush - HIGHLY recommended, I think it really made a huge difference in how smoothly and evenly it applied with a minimum of effort.
I like the product, but hate the packaging so much. Probably the worst packaging I have ever experienced in a foundation. Leaks everywhere, after using it and trying to put the cap back on, product will leak out the sides and gets all over my makeup bag. I do like the product, but it's not worth the mess. Wish I could get my money back.
Sorry I switched...waste of money
I am a longtime Bare Minerals powder user. I've always liked it a lot. I have sensitive skin, and it seems to be the only thing that I can wear. Over the years my skin has been getting drier and the powder just wasn't setting like it used to. Several people (and the reviews on this site) told me to try the BareSkin liquid as it is better for dry skin.
I was shade matched at a store, and I bought Bare Beige and the brush. BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER!!!
First, I have a lot of redness in my skin (which I told the person at the store), and this does absolutely NOTHING to cover it.
Second, It is a horrible yellowy-orange color on, and it looks terrible. It looks like a bad spray tan.
Third, It sits on top of my skin. It doesn't look cake exactly, but it definitely does not naturally blend the way the powder used to for me.
I am completely disappointed! I wish I could just get my money back, or at least try a different product. I hate to move away from Bare Minerals, but it looks like that's what I am going to have to do.
This is a great product; however, I found that it sat in my pores - I have a very oily nose area and chin - and looked like tiny dots on my nose and chin! I just loved it so much, though, as it's helped the clarity of my skin and looks so much more natural than many foundations. Now what I do is use it on my whole face, as normal, and then stipple the mineral powder foundation on my nose, the surrounding area - helps with redness, too - and my chin. Works like a charm. It doesn't have to be BM brand, but it does tend to work best for me. Also, for those of you who find this hard to blend, always use a primer first, and always always always load up the brush, gently spread strokes lightly on lots of different areas of the face, then blend from there. A good magnifying mirror helps, too. I've got this down to a 3-minute process now, and I'm thrilled with the result.
Great product, bad bottle design
Hi everyone, I love everything about this product. I just recently purchased my second bottle. I actually ordered my first one and it came with the applicator brush. The shade wasn't right for me so I handed it down to my sister and bought a new shade. I, however, kept the brush and use it with the foundation every time. I use about 2-3 drops of the foundation and use the brush to swirl it around my face until I have even coverage. Usually 2 drops is plenty. I love the coverage I receive when using this product, if I have a zit, my face is always red in the area and this product with cover it up. My only concern with this product is the container that it comes in. I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue but I have to leave the bottle standing up because it will leak. There seems to be no stopper in the lid to keep the product in the bottle when shut. Therefore it is a very messy product, and I feel that I have a lot of waste. I wish they would fix this issue.
