READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Great product--if you find the right shade
I had been using the original powder when I decided to give Ready a try. I tried 3 or 4 different shades (had to return to the store to swap each time.) I gave up on the Boutique helpers, gave up on other stores' helpers, and, by myself, smeared on several different shades on one side of my face near the jaw line, and literally walked out on to the street and went home. I waited for a couple of hours and re-checked my face, and found the shade that matched really well--and that was that! I have since stopped using the powder.
So my conclusion is: If you find yourself looking pasty, and the Ready makeup "cakey"--you are using the wrong shade.
However, I do find the Ready a bit on the matte side for me, even though I do have oily skin, my mature skin doesn't look too good with matte foundations. So in addition to moisturizing, I tried two different things: I added a bit of luminizer to my cheeks and I used the moisturizing mineral veil. Both seem to help, though I kinda like the latter better. Of course it is summer right now. I may have to switch back to the Original powder when the weather turns cold.
Perfection, but Shade-Matching is a MUST!
I immediately scheduled an appointment with my local boutique when this was released to get shade-matched & purchase this & I must say it is ESSENTIAL! ALL the formulations are slightly different, so I'm Fairly Light in Original & Golden Fair in Matte. Since I vary, I wasn't sure what color I'd be in the READY so I definitely needed help. I thought I might be Medium Beige since that's what most people who're Fairly Light in Original go to in the READY, but when I got to the appointment, I found I am the exception to the rule! I am Fairly Light in both the READY foundation & Original! I was very surprised. Most people need to go up 2 shades in the READY foundations than their normal shade. I highly recommend that you go to your local boutique or Sephora to get shade-matched if you can. It is indeed vital if you want a perfect match. Also, the Precision Face Brush is a MUST-HAVE if you use this.
Better than the original loose mineral foundation
First, let me start by saying that if you've read the reviews that say they looked like a ghost after applying Ready Foundation, they didn't get color matched and assumed they were the same shade as the loose mineral foundation. Second, if they said that the make up looked cakey and made them look overdone, they didn't apply the Ready Foundation correctly. Don't go by these reviews!!
You absolutely MUST be color matched if you want to try the Ready Foundation. I wear Fair in the loose mineral foundation, but I wear Fairly Light in the Ready Wear. You also must either watch Leslie's videos or have a consultant at a boutique show you how to apply the Ready Wear because you DO NOT swirl, tap, buff. If you do this, you will hate how it looks on you.
Having said that, I absolutely love the Ready Foundation and will not be returning to the loose mineral foundation. I have always loved Bare Minerals original formula, but I was never truly happy with the coverage. I have uneven skin tone plus redness plus oily skin. I felt the matte formula still didn't do anything for my shine, and I had to reapply several times throughout the day. I decided to try the new Ready Foundation, and the coverage is amazing! It evens my skin tone without washing me out and it controls my oil much better. I don't have to reapply throughout the day, which is wonderful! Application is also much faster because it doesn't take much of the new formula to get the coverage I like. Trust me when I say that a little bit goes a long way with this makeup.
You really must give it a try! I can't sing its praises enough!
Get Ready for compliments
I am amazed at how such a small amount of this foundation goes such a long way. Literally, you lightly tap your brush (NOT a sponge) on the product and buff in a circular motion over your entire face. Feel like you need a little more coverage? Lightly tap the product with your brush again. Two taps and I have great coverage that lasts a long time. My skin looks flawless even though it feels like I'm going bare. True story: Two days after I started wearing Ready I received a compliment from a complete stranger. In the past friends and family were always good about saying I looked great or my make up looked great. But, this time after a single application at 6:00 a.m., I was grocery shopping at about 7:00 p.m. and a lady stopped me to say that I had great skin! I smiled and said thanks and she said "no really, and I am a retired aesthetician". She wasn't selling anything, just a flat out compliment. (woot!) P.S. Be sure to get color matched, you will not wear the same shade as you do with the loose mineral foundation.
Truly THE BEST
I have used sooo many foundations. Chanel, Burberry, Laura Mercier...you name it. Once I tried this foundation there was no need to look further. I have normal skin, oily around the t-zone. I use this foundation with the regular Prime Time Foundation Primer. I then use Stroke of Light as my under eye concealer. I apply the foundation with the Full Flawless facebrush (I tap once and swirl all over my face). I finish with the Ready Mineral Veil. It's absolute perfection. MAKE SURE YOU ARE COLORED MATCHED!!!!!
I have used and really enjoyed the loose powder original foundation in Fair. When I saw a compact with a higher SPF and the opportunity to not have to deal with the loose powder flying around as much, I was excited. I grabbed my same shade, Fair, and took it home. The next morning I put it on and enjoyed the easy compact and the feel of the foundation on my skin and the coverage...but just as I was heading out the door, I realized that it looked like I'd applied pale white stage makeup. I could have put a little dot faux-mole beside my lip and gone to work as Marie Antoinette. I went through a whole day of having a ghostly face, plus a business dinner, looking like I was a fan of the Insane Clown Posse. Embarrassing. And, when I got home at the end of the day, I saw that the makeup had become pale and cakey; it also felt really thick on my skin by the end of the day, almost melted. I'm going to return it to the store tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I should even try another shade or just go back to dealing with the loose powder.
Not the quality I've come to expect....
I have been using BE for about 10 years and have never been disappointed in a product unitl now. First (which I admit is likely my fault for not noticing# this product does not even come with an applicator pad. I had to purchase one of those separately after receiving the product so I was bummed it took me extra time to even try it out.
The applicator aside, the quality of this product is not up to par. I wear the 'Medium' shade, which have for 10 years, and when I put this on, it looked caked on and pale white...nowhere near my natural shade or the shade of the medium powder foundation.
I'll be returning this.
I was not sure what to expect but I really like this product. I am going on 52 & my skin is getting so much drier so I thought this READY Foundation would work better than the loose foundation. Don't get me wrong I still think the loose foundation is fantastic too & I will use both depending up my skin (weather conditions, etc.).
Please note that there are many people on youtube telling people to swirl, tap & buff this new foundation (apparently it even said that in the directions that came with the product?). You do NOT swirl, tap & buff. I would recommend going to a BM store for the color match & directions.
Tried something new and glad I did
My husband and I live on a budget and so when I get to budget some play money I tend to head to my local boutique. I tried the READY foundation in the store and was so glad I did. The color, though it looked slightly more yellow than my usual fairly light powder, really brightened up my face. I didn't buy the special brush because I had one at home that was similar. I think the brush I have applies the power slightly lighter than with the brush they recommend and I'm glad it does. I still look nice at the end of the day!
Great coverage, no makeup feel
Love this foundation. Never liked the makeup that I had previously selected for myself - color, the way it went on, final effect, etc. My daughter uses your products, (she looks fantastic) and dragged me into a store for this. I love the way my skin feels. Now I made my friend and her daughter try this product. We are all hooked - thank you for a great product. I will go to a BE store next time to confirm color matching though.
It looks like I'm wearing TONS of heavy makeup.
I've used the Original foundation for years. I love how natural it looks, but is also buildable for more coverage where I need it. Thought I'd try this as something to keep in my purse... The coverage was way too heavy. It does not blend into the skin the way the regular loose powder does. It sits on the surface and exaggerates every line and crease and gets cakey around the sides of my nose and my chin where oil accumulates. Also seemed to make my skin look flakey in some spots. Just too heavy and obvious looking. Also, the color was much lighter than the original powder foundation in the same color code. I returned it and ordered the original loose powder.
A magic foundation
I have very sensitive combination skin. My skin tone is also VERY uneven and there are truly no words to express how fantastic this product is. I have been wearing the loose foundation since I started wearing makeup, and whenever I would throw my foundation in my purse it would get everywhere. When the ready foundation came out I was a little hesitant but tried it anyway, and at first I was not fond of it. I eventually went to a boutique and got properly shade matched ( I was two shades darker than I am in loose foundation) and was shown how to properly apply the foundation. With the proper tools, the prime time face primer and the right brush, the effect it had on my complexion was remarkable! My face suddenly looked more even and hydrated. It also gave my face an airbrushed look. I instantly loved it! I will never go back to the loose foundation and the ready foundation is now a staple in my makeup bag!
LOVE READY FOUNDATION!!!
I was totally reluctant to purchase this for I have been a user of the BE loose powder for years, BUT as I have aged hyper-pigmentation has entered into my life and the loose power just does not give me the natural look and coverage I need and want. So although skeptical I figured try it because I knew I could return it and liquid just was not an option for me. You really have to follow the directions just like it says LIGHTLY TAP AND LONG STROKES to distribute. A little goes A LONG WAY! I LOVE READY FOUNDATION! I AM TOTALLY SOLD!! I have gotten so many compliments, my confidence is up and I love what I see when I look in the mirror. I use the neutralizing primer and the 2 together is just PERFECT CHEMISTRY! The only draw back is that the yellow in the primer does not totally cover the redness BUT it does reduce it so I will take that - regardless it is MUCH better than what I was working with. THANKS BE!!! PLEASE STAY TRUE TO ORGANIC BEAUTY!!!
Wished I had switched to this sooner. I have Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis. The coverage is better than I expected, yet feels very light. If you apply it as directed, it really does look flawless.
I tried READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I am sold on this item.
This is the best and most natural foundation I have used.
I prefere it over the powder in the jar. I touch it to my skin
instantly, it looks like my skin with total perfection. Not a
Blemish nor uneven tone to me. I LOVE IT!!!!!
I have been using BE for 4 years now, but just recently tried the READY line. I really like it - but i did watch several videos on how to use the foundation before I bought it. The videos help tremendously. You really do not need much of this foundation at all - a few taps of my brush is enough to cover my whole face flawlessly. I would recommend getting color matched though, as I had to go up a shade.
Just what I needed
I've used the BM for years but lately the powder foundation was looking powdery on my older skin. This is wonderful! It glides on and blends well and allows you to build more coverage where you need it. YOU MUST 1. be color matched in person 2. watch the video about how to apply it. You don't swirl this one or you will have WAY too much. I went to Ulta to be color matched. I'm sure Sephora can also do it if you don't have a BM boutique nearby. I love it!
I'm not sure what these others are talking about, this is a fantastic product. I have used bare escentuals since I was a teenager. I love their products and this is no exception. I have struggled with acne most of my life but these products have helped reduce outbreaks. Just make sure when using this product to get the special brush. It does not cover as well with the buki brush
HORRIBLE like the old style cake makeup!
I LOVE Bare Escentuals and decided to give this a try! It's HORRIBLE!!! It makes me look like an old woman!! It stuck in every little wrinkle and just rode the top of my skin....very disappointing! And when I removed it, it doesn't remove very well!! I will stick with regular "loose" Bare Escentuals from now on, which is perfect!!!
Best Foundation EVER!
I LOVE this foundation . . . it's quick, easy, and offers full coverage. It's also easy to take along. I appreciate all of the shade choices; I wear fairly medium which is not available everywhere; this foundation IS my skin only flawless! Please make a travel size. I really love all of the Ready products and only wear them now.
Ready Foundatin Broad in Compact
I have been using the Ready Foundation for a few months. Just ordered another one on QVC even though I do not need a refill yet. Couldn't resist the great value. Great coverage. I did need to go with a little darker shade with this one compared to the loose powder of BE. I've been a big fan of Bare Escentuals products for many years. I am 62 yrs.old and have been using their makeup for at least 7 years. I continually receive compliments and asked what line of makeup I use. In the past I alwaysI used a liquid foundation for years and hated it. Always felt like I had makeup on and it would rub off (couldn't really get a good color match#. Then I tried BE makeup #recommended by a friend) and absolutely love it. I will never go back to a liquid foundation. BE blushes, eye shadows and lipsticks are wonderful as well. So don't hesitate another day! Stop by a Bare Escentual boutique this week and get color matched. You won't regret it.
best on the market
I started using Bare Minerals about a year ago and I started with the matte in shade medium beige. When the Ready Foundation came out, I was curious. Back in February of this year, I went to a boutique and was color matched to the shade medium tan in the Ready. I was surprised I was matched for the medium tan, it looks so dark in the compact but it's not dark on. I really LOVE this foundation, it's perfect and the best on the market I think. So easy to use and yes, if you are not careful it's easy to use too much, it does take practice. The plus side to this foundation is you can build your coverage. I use the precision brush and love how it applies the foundation. I have super sensitive skin and this does not bother my face. I think I like the ready foundation better than the matte. My foundation woes are gone! Thank you!
I'm not one that really ever wore make up besides eye liner....but since I've tried BE i have been hooked, i love that it don't feel like you have anything on and yet it has wonderful coverage...I now use all the skin care products and its amazing how smooth and clear my face is. I highly recommend trying this product I had my daughter try it and now she is hooked.....Love it!!!!!!
I was hesitant to buy this but, oily skin is very different than moisture in this product. So, I tried it, I love it! No mess, glides on like silk, and the coverage is Amazing! And doesn't look or feel like make up! I never wrote a review, but tired of wasting my money, so been doing a lot of research before I buy!
Great Concealer, foundation
For those suffering from acne, this is the product for you. It holds all day long, covers all blemishes, severe acne and scarring in a flawless manner.
It does get a little messy when you swirl the make-up brush, but absolutely worthwhile.
GREAT PRODUCT! Same delicate powder for sensitive skin.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PRODUCT
I had tried bare minerals original before and was not quite convinced to give up my liquid foundation. I read that READY foundation by Bare Minerals was very moisturizing. I bought it at Sephora (they helpd me choose my color) and I fell in love with it. READY covers my rosacea, does not settle into my lines and wrinkles and DOES NOT DRY MY SKIN. It lasts pratically all day and I love it. It really is worthwhile to give READY foundation a try because it is WONDERFUL.
Why oh why did I wait so long to try this!?
I bought the foundation yesterday and so today would be my second day wearing the ready. I went to a BE Boutique to get matched since there are so many reviews encouraging to do it. Well, for me, I am actually the same shade in the Original as in the Ready and in the Matte I can't find a good color, but I am glad that I tried different shades. I am light/medium skinned and neutral/yellow undertone (Hispanic) so I was matched as Medium Beige.
I live in SE GA which is very hot and humid and my foundation stood up to all the humidity we had today. For me this definitely stayed on my face compared to the loose powder. The loose powder will "run" off my face and come off I try to blot with a paper towel or an oil control sheet.
I REALLY LOVE how this formula does NOT make my face itch. The original formula made me want to claw my face off and the matte made my skin feel oily and mask-y even though it's made to help control the oil. The Ready is so light weight that I had forgotten that I was wearing make up at all! Now I need to find someone who needs my loose power foundation because I found a new love <3 <3<3
In all I LOVE all the Ready products!!
I will definitely recommend this to all my sister and all my friends!!
Love READY products
I was a big Bare Minerals fan a few years ago, but the Original foundation just wasn't working for me last year. Not enough coverage, sometimes was too dark for me (even though I wore Fair!), but the fact that it didn't make me break out outweighed all those. Eventually, I tried to jump on the MAC bandwagon. The foundation is too thick - I mean, my skin couldn't even breathe! I would constantly have pimples when I'd never had them like that before. I ended up hearing about the READY foundation a while back and last night I caved.
I LOVE IT! No touching up throughout the day. The makeup has great coverage, but I don't even feel like I'm wearing makeup. I'm going to go ahead and warn you not to order this online the first time. Head to the store instead. You have to be color matched for this product. Like I mentioned before, I wore Fair in the Original because I am so pale. In the READY line I wear Medium! That's a big difference. They'll also show you how to apply it since it's a different technique.
Only negative - The kits don't come with the Precision makeup brush. There should be a combo somehow.
This is a wonderful addition to the foundation line! I still love the original foundation the best because of the luminous finish, but READY is a close second because of her incredible staying power and no-mess convenience. I use the Precision Face brush to apply for a full-coverage look, and WOW! it takes no time at all to create beautiful flawless skin! I always get at least 10 hours of wear without a touch up. In fact, I only touch up because my other makeup is not lasting as long. There is a learning curve to READY, but once you get the hang of it, she is so worth it!
Great On the Go, Only wished would bring a Sponge
I am a faithful consumer of the Original Foundation, but I definitely needed a powder/foundation for On the Go as well. Like others that mention it, I was a little doubtful on purchasing this item because of some negative reviews. However, those reviews compensated with the positive ones and they both helped me figure out that what I needed to do was apply Ready with a makeup sponge and not a brush. (I believe this was mentioned in another review as well.) For me, the brush and the swirl, tap, buff recommenation works great with any loose foundation or powder, but definitely not with a pressed one. I really think that it´s wasted a lot with a brush and the application is not as easy and even. And besides, who wants to carry a brush when you are on the go? Yes, a little goes a long way, so you only need to smear the sponge lightly on Ready and then spread it on your face. Do that a couple of times and you will be all set to go. (I´m attaching a picture of the sponge I use.) I´ve been really impressed with the full coverage, long lasting but yet so natural, light weight look I get. 10 points for that! Yes, if you use Original you will find this a little matte, but I guess that tends to happen with any pressed foundation or powder and I really didn´t find it that bad. And I can see how some customers may need to go a shade darker, but I stayed with the same one I use for Original which is Medium Beige. The only thing I would recommend Bare Escentuals (if they believe the sponge can work better) is to include it on the case, just how all pressed powder/foundations on the market come for obvious practical reasons.
