Well-Rested Eye Brightener Broad Spectrum SPF 20
For Fair Skinned People.
I'm not too sure if this is the right way to use this item but this is how I use it. I put it under my eyes and on the eye lids before I put on my foundation. Only because I find that it is pretty yellow if I put it over the foundation to get that 'well rested' look. It certainly works well that way however, I guess it would become more like a concealer.
I am really FAIR skinned so if I put it over top of the foundation it looks terrible. Just in case there were any other fair skinned people looking at this item.
Too yellow for fair girls
I was so excited to try this product that I bought the full size. It is far to yellow for fair skin with cool undertones. I tries using a precision brush and applying it only over blue under eye circles...and it still showed up "yellow" next to my skin. It is unwearable.
Love Bare Minerals
I use well rested eye brightner to cover red splotches on my face and it works great. I also use it to cover bags under my eyes. I've used bare minerals for several years now and love the products. I do sometimes get caking if I have hot flashes and perspire a lot, but I think that would be true of any make-up.
Does not crease, looks natural, works well with the original and matte foundations. I wouldn't recommend this for trying to cover really dark circles.
Doesn't work for my under-eye darkness
I don't like this as an under-eye concealer for a few reasons. I find that even with a moisturizer and primer, this really settles into fine lines. I wear fairly light foundation and like a lot of fair-skinned people my dark circles are very noticeable. This doesn't cover well enough in that area. It's great for coverage of red spots elsewhere on my face though or if you want to brighten your eyelids. I got somewhat better under-eye correction from an eye-shadow called Lemon Freeze which is less gold than this. Unfortunately, it was only sold in a discontinued collection. I've just tried a sample of the correcting concealer that's a cream rather than a powder and it provides substantially better coverage than any of the powders. It's almost enough to make me want to try the liquid foundation which is something I swore I'd never touch after switching to BE over 10 years ago.
I love this BM product
I have glaucoma and the eye drops I have to use have discolored the area around my eyes. Plus, I have Rosacea which causes red splotches on my face. I'm also very allergic to most cosmetics, even some that are hypoallergenic. I searched for many years and spent tons of money trying to find a product that would really cover my skin discolorations. About 3 years ago, my daughter gifted me with an introductory gift of Bare Minerals. I liked it so well that I began to experiment with other BM products, Well Rested being one of them. I used it around my eyes and on all red splotches and it covered perfectly. Plus, I'm not allergic to it! I love this stuff and will not do without it!
This is my LIFE SAVER
I love this stuff. This is probably the best thing BM makes. I use it under my eyes to conceal darkness and since I'm light in complexion this actually works for all over my face if I have any redness or blemishes to conceal. I keep a jar of this in my purse with a brush to touch up throughout the day. It's awesome and worth the money. It they made this in a compact form it would be even better.
Awesome for under eyes!
I apply this with a soft focus brush underneath my eyes after applying my mineral veil. I love how it brightens up my eye area and makes my under eye circles look less visible. A little goes a long way!
Not For Me
Dark circles are my worst enemy, and I really wanted to find something to not only mask mine but also give it that lighter glow. In hindsight, this sounds perfect. It's lightweight and definitely brightens up your eye area. Sadly, it just didn't work out for me.
For some reason, the powder made creases I didn't know I had appear. I also didn't feel like it covered up my dark circles at all and the brightening affect didn't look as good as I had hoped.
I ended up exchanging it for the Correcting Concealer and am really glad I did. Would recommend that over this.
Not so well rested!
My experience with the Well-Rested Eye Brightener Broad Spectrum SPF 20 was the exact opposite of what it is intended to do. I never looked “well rested,” except when I had a good night sleep. Sorry, but that is the honest, unvarnished truth and outcome.
