READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
expected a lot more from BE
I guess first of all I cannot understand why the shades of Ready don't match the she shades of the original foundation. Makes it impossible to purchase online, and not everyone is fortunate enough to live near a boutique to be color matched. Regardless, I have found the Ready to be very cakey. It is difficult to apply a light layer, so by the time I'm done my face looks heavy and thick with make. What I've always liked about BE is the natural look, but this in now way provides that. Very disappointed. Plus based on online comments and suggestions, not only do you end up with an expensive product that does not work, but you get fooled into thinking it will work if use the right brush, so there's another chunk of change spent without any better result. I hope BE will take all of reviews into consideration and really work on improving this product. The tap swirl and buff technique is so cumbersome. Having a Ready foundation would be so convenient, if only it worked.
I've been struggling for the past year or so, trying to find foundation that matches my skin well, and also has a near flawless finish. I tried other brands, then the mineral powder, then finally I tried this just on a whim. The coverage is just amazing, you cant see any of my freckles through it, the finish is very smooth, almost air brush like. I absolutely love it. It also feels very light and it lasts all day. You may need to blot in the middle of the day but without any additional powder. If you're thinking about trying this you HAVE to do it. I cant imagine anyone will be disappointed.
Full coverage + shade difference
I started using Bare Minerals foundation in 2004. I loved it. However, when I started getting more redness in my face, along with some occasional mild acne, I switched back to liquid foundation for fuller coverage (and it was faster to 'fix' my redness/acne with a liquid). Now, after 3 years of liquid foundations, I had to stop because of some new skin problems. I just purchased the READY foundation in Golden Medium, since that is the shade I used for BM Matte. The coverage is really amazing. However, the Golden Medium was way too light on my skin. I had to exchange it for Golden Tan (which looks A LOT darker in the compact, but goes on lighter). I would recommend getting the shade one darker than you would normally use at Bare Minerals. I'm really impressed with this full coverage, velvety foundation!
I absolutely love this foundation... it gives perfect coverage that I need everyday. It also feels light and airy. However, towards the end my compacts always break as in the makeup inside shatters and is no longer usable. Recently, I bought a new compact and the makeup shattered inside and the entire new compact was unusable. Its frustrating because you spend so much money and not all of it can be used.
I cannot say enough about this product and how it helped me through a bad acne breakout. You cannot put it on heavy or you'll look ridiculous. I used their concealer for the acne leas ions. Also warmth, and a blush. They helped to take the emphasis off the acne. The girl at the BM store was more than nice when she did this mini makeover! I now only use the original foundation and Ready on special occasions because I find it to be more moisturizing than the original and I want my face to be as clear as possible. The concealer I don't think clogged my pores but I watch these products as an acne sufferer. I usually walk around with no makeup for the lesions to heal.
What's with the color change?!?
I started using/switched to the Ready foundation formula about a yr ago (switched from the traditional loose mineral formula, which I had used for yrs). Found its coverage to be comparable and really liked that it was less messy & more user friendly in my purse or with travel. I always wore the "medium" in the loose mineral, but found the "medium beige" in the Ready to be a closer match to the "medium" in the loose, which I had always loved. Fast forward to now, I was out of my Ready Med Bg. Due to convenience, I usually order online b/c the closest store to me is several miles away. However, this time I happened to be in that neck of the woods, so I went by the BE store and purchased another Ready in Med. Bg., which I had been using for over 6 mos & was very happy with. Got the new replacement home, and it looked yellow on my skin versus the usual slightly pink to neutral undertones. I visually compared it to the old Med Bg in natural lighting & there is DEFINITELY a difference!! Thinking the store clerk may have accidentally picked up the wrong color or misunderstood my request (she got the product for me, I did not remove from store shelf myself), I compared the numbers on the back of the compact. They WERE different!! Old Med Bg was N20, but the store clerk gave me one that said R250. So I was convinced she sold me he wrong one & was going to try & return it. HOWEVER... I just now looked online to order another Med Bg and OMG, it is now indeed R250!! (WTHeck?!?) The store clerk did NOT make an error; BE has apparently CHANGED the color. I have no dang idea which color NOW translates into the old Med Bg. I have been a loyal customer for years, and did not see any communication via website or otherwise that they were changing up the colors. This stuff is not exactly cheap either!!! What is the deal?!? I would have ordinarily given this product a 4-5 star rating, but given the schizo color change that makes me look jaundiced, it now has only 2 stars. I am sooo disappointed. Would have continued to buy this product for many, many more yrs, but not now. :(
Runs lighter in color
I love the Bare Mineral formula and how it feels on my skin. It's weightless and doesn't cause my skin to react. I love the pressed powder, it goes on smooth, has a light matte finish and doesn't move throughout the day. Many products make my skin react. Between clogged pores, redness, and rashes I've learned that this brand works well for me.
I've tried every foundation they make and love each one for different reasons. I go back and forth between liking the pressed and loose powders but I think I do like the pressed better. I feel like I get more out of it and can use less to get the same amount of coverage as the loose powder.
My one complaint is that it does run about a shade lighter in the same color as the original and matte formulas.
On the go necessity
The is a must have compact in your make up bag. Great for touch ups while on the go. Affordable and lasts long. Works great with the mini kabuki brush.
Love the look, not the time
What caused me to try this was how long each container lasts. I used Clinique due to skin issues, and love it, but every 30 days I need a new compact. Bare Escentuals costs the same, but lasts for months. I've been using Bare Escentuals for a little over a year now with a couple of breaks from it. I started with the loose powder and loved the way it looked, but it was messy, time-consuming, and took up too much space in my bag so I went back to the other stuff. Once I found out about the compact powder foundation, I just HAD to give it another try. I aboslutely love the way it looks, I never have to do any touch-ups (except when my allergies are bad and need to use a lot of tissue), my skin looks so smooth, and it holds up in the heat when I'm outside a lot.
My only complaint is how long it takes to put on. I like to just slap on the necessities and go, like I could with my old powder foundation. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with stuff and will continue buying it!
Great new foundation!
I have been a faithful Bare Minerals fan for many years using the Original and the Matte powder foundations, but this new foundation blew me away! I have gotten compliments from TOTAL STRANGERS in the street, my friends ask me why I look so good, even my dad noticed my skin looked pretty. It is totally awesome!
I got the new precision brush and it is amazing as well, soft to the touch, makes me wanna put my foundation on, and best of all, gives me full coverage and bright, fresh-looking skin. I have oily skin and it is still matte at the end of the day, no shine at all which is nice. However, I feel it hydrates my skin as well and it is definitely not drying.
A little goes and looooong way! And it has soooo much staying power it's ridiculous. Mid-afternoon/early evening I look at my skin and the foundation is still going strong... No need for touch-ups.
You need to get shade matched for sure! It will make all the difference. I dare anyone to use this foundation and not like it! It's pretty much impossible!
I LOVE my READY foundation. It is just PERFECT. It covers redness on my cheeks and I can build up my coverage and still look natural. It is LONG lasting, it never settled into any lines on my face and makes me look more polished. My skin is oily and the foundation still lasts very very long. No need to touch up throughout the day, I just use oil absorbing sheets and it looks like I just put on makeup. It is also so comfortable to the skin and lies so beautifully on it. I just can't say anything negative about it, it really is my perfect foundation.
Perfcect for my skin- I LOVE this!
I bought the compact this time around to try it out- I have 2 small kids so the quickest makeup routine I can get is the best for me! I am so impressed with the coverage and overall quality of the compact foundation! I normally do the loose powder which I have always liked but this is just AWESOME! I have oily areas on my face and some scarring, this product covers everything and I have had it on for 4 hours now and my face isn't even a bit oily- by now I've wiped off a lot of the loose powder from blotting oil. If you want quick and easy coverage, this is the way to go!
My Holy Grail--Once I found the right shade
I was wearing the Matte, but it didn't provided enough coverage for my rosacea. The Original is too luminous for me, so I decided to try the Ready. I originally chose the wrong shade and had a bad experience. The foundation looked like it was sitting on my face instead of blending in. So I ended up going to a BE Boutique and got shade matched properly---and I am in love!! It lasts all day, doesn't get oily, and the coverage is easy to control. My only suggestions are to (1) pay attention to the undertones (cool, neutral, golden) because that definitely makes a difference in the success of your shade match, (2) find a brush that works for you. The precision face brush (the angled-top kabuki) gave me too much coverage, but when I use the flawless face brush it's perfect (3) once you tap your brush into the foundation, swirl it in an empty lid from the loose foundation to make sure the Ready gets evenly distributed throughout the bristles. Once I started doing that, I got perfect, even coverage every time.
READY FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 20
I love this foundation. I was matched up for the correct shade and purchased the precision brush. I tap and blend. It gives me a flawless look and last all day.
What a great foundation. I took the "which foundation is right for you" test and it said Ready. I had been using the Bare Minerals loose foundation for years and was leery of changing so I called in and spoke with a terrific representative. I decided to go for it and try the Ready and i am so glad I did. I got an email saying when it would arrive. As it was coming Fedex and they come in the am I just washed and moisturized that morning (yesterday) and waited for the truck. When it came I ran to the bathroom and put it on (I watched videos on how to put it on correctly) with the Precision Brush. Wow is all I can say and of course I love it!!!! I did it with the concealer and theLuminizer Duo. If I say so myself I looked good. I also got a compliment from a total stranger later in the afternoon about what nice skin I have. I go for a natural no make up look so I was floored. When I went to bed last night I wanted to go put it on again! Thank you BM this is a terrific product for us 50 somethings that need some extra help. I have circles, and fine lines around my eyes and on my cheeks as well as some of what I call bracketing from my nose to my chin. This doesn't eliminate all that but softens it and makes me look healthy, natural and younger.
I went to a Bare Minerals store on a whim, and was color matched for the Ready Foundation in Medium Tan, I'm between fair and medium and thought this would be too dark, it wasn't really...it is amazing how much lighter is goes on. I have some rosacea , and after seeing the video with Shelby, and with going to Ulta and buying some Original Bare Minerals powder I learned to go with the neutral for covering rosacea. I now use the Medium Beige in Ready. I love it, I learned to REALLY, REALLY go easy. I was getting it in my lines a little at first too ( like I've seen some comments) I decided one day to just tap ,and brush it on one whole side of my face, and another tap for the other side, It really is enough, and no bisque concealer is needed on my cheeks anymore!!
So in love!!!
I'm a little late to the game but I finally tried the ready foundation after being a fan of the loose powder foundation for years. I got the precision face brush to use with it and couldn't be happier. I was always disappointed after a twelve hour work day with how my powder foundation looked. Apparently I have more combination skin than I thought. So, I got the oil control foundation primer and the ready foundation and tried them together. I couldn't be happier!!!! I noticed about half way though the day my skin felt a little cakey (don't think that's really a word) but my complexion still looked flawless and not oily at all. I actually worked about sixteen hours that day and my makeup stayed strong the whole time. So now I'll be using both depending on how long I plan to be wearing my makeup. I can't wait to be able to try the new bareskin foundation as well!
P.S. I was a shade darker than in the loose powder. Keep that in mind if you can only order off the internet. I would definitely recommend going into the store to try and/or see the product before buying.
This Foundation is amazing!
I bought this foundation a few days ago and ever since I have been using it, it has brought nothing but good coverage to my acne scars and my acne.
You would think just because it is a powder it wouldn't be as much coverage as it brought but it really is an amazing product.
Not as good at the Matte Foundation
I tried this out because I love the Bare Minerals Foundation. I did not like this as well as the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation. The Bare Minerals Matte Foundation looks much better on my skin. I did use some of the foundation but, I went back to the Matte Foundation.
Worst Foundation I've ever tried.
I'm a woman of color, (NW45 in mac) and Warm dark in the original formula, and this is by far the worst foundation I've ever tried. Extremely cakey and dry looking. I tried 3 different shades, and could not find a color to match me, meanwhile I match several shades in the loose powder formula. Huge disappointment.
I really wanted to like this foundation. I got a perfect color match using fairy light, and it looked amazing when I first applied it. You have to be very careful with this foundation to not over apply, or it will look really cakey as the day goes on. Even with applying a light layer using the flawless application brush, by the end of the day the texture didn't look as good in a few places on my face. The main reason for the rating I gave is that shortly after putting it on my face is so itchy. I have never had that problem with foundations before.
Love this product...but BM...needs to add more shades for people of color...I think BM should copy every shade for people of color from the MAC make up line
I think I found my foundation soul mate....
I am a long time bareMinerals user and although I love the product, I was never able to get an exact skin tone match (I was always between Light and Fairly Light) but I love the product so much I would opt for "ghost face" and add warmth. With this foundation, I am not sure if the shades are slightly different, but I have finally found my color match. On top of that, the foundation feels so soft and smooth on my skin, more so than the powder foundations. Also-unlike the powder foundations-I've made virtually no mess during my morning routine and I feel like a very tiny amount goes a very long way. This READY foundation has completely transformed my morning routine and it looks so RADIANT on my skin.
Another one hit out of the park, bareMinerals! Thank you!
I was using Mary Kay "mineral foundation" and the first ingredient is Talc-something they say if really not good for you skin. Over time i developed mild acne on my cheeks. After sleeping in Bare Escentuals foundation for 1 night I could already tell a difference in my cheeks. The following night I used the night serum sample I was sent and the next morning even better results. My mary kay went into the trash and I will forever be greatful for bare escentuals! The minerals in the foundation did the trick for me.
The BEST foundation ever!
This is truly the most amazing foundation I have ever found! I cannot believe how very well it covers my redness and with so small amount. I don't even have to use a cover stick anymore, just use a smaller brush to touch up areas that need more coverage. It feels light and it does NOT come off! This really stays on longer even than 12 hours and no matter how much I touch my face, brush up against things, etc. it stays on my face! I will use this forever. Thank you Leslie and Bare Escentuals.
Flawless on the Run
I was a long time user of the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in Golden Fair, but it wasn't easy to do on the go and I always managed to make SUCH A MESS with it. So I switched to another foundation, which was just ok. Then I saw the READY foundation and decided to give it a try. Application and color matching really were key to using this product, but it has become my new favorite thing. I finally went into my local store and the stylist shade matched me from Golden Fair in the original foundation to a Medium Beige in the READY foundation! I was super surprised, but it really is an exact match and blends beautifully. I also bought the Precision Face Brush and using it with the READY foundation makes my pores look smaller, keeps the shine from my oily skin at bay, and it's long wearing with medium to full coverage. I love this product!
I've never loved a foundation more!
A friend's dermatologist recommended bare minerals to her as a gentle makeup option for her skin and I figured that made it worth a try for myself. I'm so glad I took a chance! I've had bad experiences with several other mineral makeup foundations drying out my skin or making any dry patches look awful. This ready foundation is in a league of its own, I tell my friends and family that it seems like magic! Just a few strokes of my super soft precision face brush and I've got a healthy, soft, natural, even looking complexion.
I switched to this from a liquid foundation and I'll never look back. I have fair, combination skin and this foundation has totally transformed my skin into what I've always wanted it to be! I've noticed a few negative reviews and that makes me sad for those that have given it a negative review because I honestly believe they weren't using the product correctly. My foundation is not messy at all because I just have to tap or push my brush into the compact, no swirling or stroking just pushing it in. This gives me enough powder to cover my entire face. Since I have started using this foundation I have experienced no new breakouts of acne and my skin feels softer than it ever has. I definitely recommend being shade matched because I never would have guessed the shade I ended up with (one that was darker than I expected), but it matches perfectly. For the first time in my life I am not worried about what my jaw line will look like when I leave the house and wonder if my face is going to blend in with my neck. I've received many comments on how clear and nice my skin looks for the first time which is wonderful. The foundation works really well as a concealer over old acne scars, doesn't settle into any under-eye wrinkles (a problem I had with liquid foundation) and does not bother my eyes at all! This seems to just become a part of my skin, evening it out, and covering unevenness. It doesn't rub off on clothes or anything like that which is awesome. How embarrassing is it when you hug someone and your makeup is left all over their shoulder? I finish my foundation routine with the BM Ready mineral veil in translucent and it sets my foundation for the day nicely. I throw that compact in my purse on the go and use it if I’m feeling oily or need a touch up and it works very well.
I could not recommend this product more. I'm hooked for life. The other bonus, it seems to last a really long time! I've been using this compact for a month and haven't even made a dent into the compact.
Take a chance on this product, watch the video tutorial on the BM page to apply it correctly and get shade matched. You’ll be SO glad that you did. I am in LOVE!
Before I bought this product I did some research and a lot of people (yourube vlogers mainly) said it was amazing! Well... I disagree. I wanted a vegan foundation and that had a good coverage but this s full coverage that makes it feel and look cakey and powdery! My skind is pretty healthy and is mixed so I when I put in on I just feel like I am wearing at least 5 products on my face than just one. It gives a too flat matte finish and has a bad effect when u take a pic with flash. I am medium shade and in pics wearing this I look like a ghost! I know this has SPF and that tends to happens but the effect is way too big.
Tried this on a whim
I was just browsing at Sephora in the mall. I saw this and thought I would give it a try. So far I love it. I have had so many people ask me why my skin is glowing. I have use BM original formula for over 8 years and I love it, but this product just may be my new favorite item. It makes my skin look smooth and bright and I have to mention its nice not spilling my product all over the bathroom sink when I open it. No complaints here.
The perfect pair to cover those large pores
After using the Ready Foundation with the Precision Brush which seems to be made perfectly for each other, I have been able to cover up large pores.
I always start out with my Prime Time (Primer) which feels velvety/silky smooth and evens out the texture on my face.
I was given a tip to cover up pores by stroking the Precision Brush upwards instead of down to cover up pores. And this tip works great!
Just a couple of taps a couple of times will literally cover your entire face.
This is how I apply it 1st) Prime Time 2nd) Ready Foundation 3rd) Precision Brush.
This can also work as your concealer. I use my BE concealer brush either before or after applying foundation. I have a scar near my eye that has a much lighter color than the rest of my skin and I can easily cover it. If you put too much on, just buff it out. ;o)
I feel this is a dual purpose foundation and has lasted me quite a while.
