ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null
You don't even know you are wearing foundation!
I started using bareMinerals in July 2013. I had not worn foundation for YEARS because I hated how the liquid would feel on my face. Plus, it looked so fake and 'made-up'. I tried this and was sold!!! I don't even know I have foundation on! It evens out my skin. It looks fresh all day long. It is amazing!!
Why did I wait so long??
I was a holdout on trying these products since I first heard of them years ago. Why? Because I refused to believe the hype. Regrets? You bet. This stuff is wonderful, and truly makes your skin look flawless. I'm almost 47 and I was a sun worshipper growing up near the water. Granted, I used SPF the whole time, though not near the level I should have...does SPF 4 count? NoIdon'tthinkso. So I have the usual dark spots in some places; a few tiny broken capillaries on one cheek. I dislike wearing makeup b/c I like my skin to breathe, yet I have to put on something to hide the spots b/c let's be honest - even if the spots are only noticeable to me...they're still noticeable. I was going to shell-out $600.00 to have them lasered, but before the holidays I finally caved a bought some samples of BM....and my whole outlook changed. With these products - I also use the concealer and mineral veil - you only use them where you need to, so they NEVER EVER feel heavy - no matter how much buildable coverage you use. Really! And this has SPF 15? Even better! BM not only made me a believer; they saved me the expense and 'unknowns' of getting lasers. No more regrets, and no looking back! Yay!
The best foundation of all times!
I have been using this foundation since I was in junior high which was back in 2005. I cheated on bare minerals a few times and ended up breaking out from the different types of make I tried switching to; so I finally decided that bare minerals was the make up for me and have not gone back since.
Best foundation you will ever use
I will start out by saying there are only 2 reasons why somebody would not like this foundation. Reason 1 you are using the wrong shade. When I first started using this foundation I got color matched in fair I purchased the starter kit and got home really excited and once I put it on I was so disappointed it literally covered nothing and made me look worse than without makeup. A year went by and I decided to try again purchasing another starter kit and going up a shade to Light and WOW I was thrilled with the results. The coverage was amazing and my skin was glowing, so long story short I discovered if you are using the wrong shade it will not give you the coverage you want and leave you looking blotchy and unhappy. Reason 2 you are applying this product incorrectly. I am guilty of using way too much product in the lid and not swirling, tapping, and buffing like I should have. After watching many tutorials on youtube I discovered a little goes a long way and it's all about the buffing the more you buff the better it looks. I know a lot of people complain about the price but to be honest if the large container of foundation does not last you 6-9 months you are using way too much. I purchased an XL container at an outlet store over a year ago and I'm still using it. Another thing I will point out is the brushes. I'm not a huge fan of the brushes the starter kit comes with except the concealer brush that one is a must I feel like it doesn't matter how many layers of buffing I do I don't get medium coverage, I use the heavenly face brush and it's the best brush bare minerals has to offer. The bristles do not come out and it gives me medium to full coverage that lasts all day it will be the only brush you will ever buy. I purchased mine over 2 years ago and it still works like it's brand new. So I hope this review helped especially for those people who are nervous to try it I hope you do because honestly my skin looks better when I do use it and a drugstore foundation can promise that but we all know it's a lie. I get complaints on my skin all the time and people don't even realize i wear makeup which can be the best compliment any women could ever get.
Im in my early 40's
I use this daily. I use the full coverage brush and apply to my areas that need a bit more coverage (under my eyes and chin area). I then use my kabuki brush and apply all over my face. I really recommend applying the primer first. Your brush will glide flawlessly over your skin. I will never go back to heavy liquids after finding Bare Minerals. Even my 22 yr old daughter is using Bare Minerals now!
I still love the original foundation.
I have been using Bare Minerals and I have it on the automated shipping. It is the best thing that I have discovered for foundation in years. I am so happy to be rid of the caked on liquid foundations of the past...
I'm 47 and was never happy with liquid make-up because it always settle into the lines around my eyes and corners of my mouth but now WOW! I so LOVE this product it's smooth, light weight and so natural looking. I like that the product carries a variety of colors that are easy to pick and I can adjust the tones for what works for me through the seasons. Thank you Bare Escentuals
Is not what it used to be
I have used this for 3 years and my last pack did not cover like it use to! It also did not stay on for 8 hour's I was lucky it lasted for 4 hour's, sadly a waste of money.
Love this product. It has great coverage, while looking so natural and giving the face a beautiful glowiy look. When you first put it on, it will look cakey, but after only about 10 mins it is fine. Definetly recommend this for beginners, since it is easy to apply and is the perfect amount to wear.
It was alright but...
This foundation is pretty good but as a person with oily skin and alot of acne i found it a little hard to use. The product is really good for your skin, it actually has helped heal my acne a bit:) but i comes off with kindof a brightening or highlighting finish which didnt really help at all with the oiliness. So yeah this would probably be a amazing produt for people with dry to normal skin, but i think i would prefer the matte one a lot better:)
