READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Why oh why did I wait so long to try this!?
I bought the foundation yesterday and so today would be my second day wearing the ready. I went to a BE Boutique to get matched since there are so many reviews encouraging to do it. Well, for me, I am actually the same shade in the Original as in the Ready and in the Matte I can't find a good color, but I am glad that I tried different shades. I am light/medium skinned and neutral/yellow undertone (Hispanic) so I was matched as Medium Beige.
I live in SE GA which is very hot and humid and my foundation stood up to all the humidity we had today. For me this definitely stayed on my face compared to the loose powder. The loose powder will "run" off my face and come off I try to blot with a paper towel or an oil control sheet.
I REALLY LOVE how this formula does NOT make my face itch. The original formula made me want to claw my face off and the matte made my skin feel oily and mask-y even though it's made to help control the oil. The Ready is so light weight that I had forgotten that I was wearing make up at all! Now I need to find someone who needs my loose power foundation because I found a new love <3 <3<3
In all I LOVE all the Ready products!!
I will definitely recommend this to all my sister and all my friends!!
Love READY products
I was a big Bare Minerals fan a few years ago, but the Original foundation just wasn't working for me last year. Not enough coverage, sometimes was too dark for me (even though I wore Fair!), but the fact that it didn't make me break out outweighed all those. Eventually, I tried to jump on the MAC bandwagon. The foundation is too thick - I mean, my skin couldn't even breathe! I would constantly have pimples when I'd never had them like that before. I ended up hearing about the READY foundation a while back and last night I caved.
I LOVE IT! No touching up throughout the day. The makeup has great coverage, but I don't even feel like I'm wearing makeup. I'm going to go ahead and warn you not to order this online the first time. Head to the store instead. You have to be color matched for this product. Like I mentioned before, I wore Fair in the Original because I am so pale. In the READY line I wear Medium! That's a big difference. They'll also show you how to apply it since it's a different technique.
Only negative - The kits don't come with the Precision makeup brush. There should be a combo somehow.
This is a wonderful addition to the foundation line! I still love the original foundation the best because of the luminous finish, but READY is a close second because of her incredible staying power and no-mess convenience. I use the Precision Face brush to apply for a full-coverage look, and WOW! it takes no time at all to create beautiful flawless skin! I always get at least 10 hours of wear without a touch up. In fact, I only touch up because my other makeup is not lasting as long. There is a learning curve to READY, but once you get the hang of it, she is so worth it!
Great On the Go, Only wished would bring a Sponge
I am a faithful consumer of the Original Foundation, but I definitely needed a powder/foundation for On the Go as well. Like others that mention it, I was a little doubtful on purchasing this item because of some negative reviews. However, those reviews compensated with the positive ones and they both helped me figure out that what I needed to do was apply Ready with a makeup sponge and not a brush. (I believe this was mentioned in another review as well.) For me, the brush and the swirl, tap, buff recommenation works great with any loose foundation or powder, but definitely not with a pressed one. I really think that it´s wasted a lot with a brush and the application is not as easy and even. And besides, who wants to carry a brush when you are on the go? Yes, a little goes a long way, so you only need to smear the sponge lightly on Ready and then spread it on your face. Do that a couple of times and you will be all set to go. (I´m attaching a picture of the sponge I use.) I´ve been really impressed with the full coverage, long lasting but yet so natural, light weight look I get. 10 points for that! Yes, if you use Original you will find this a little matte, but I guess that tends to happen with any pressed foundation or powder and I really didn´t find it that bad. And I can see how some customers may need to go a shade darker, but I stayed with the same one I use for Original which is Medium Beige. The only thing I would recommend Bare Escentuals (if they believe the sponge can work better) is to include it on the case, just how all pressed powder/foundations on the market come for obvious practical reasons.
Went back to the Matte
The Ready Foundation shades did not match well with my complexion. Even though it felt good on, it is a heavier foundation. I did not like how the foundation looked at noon. My pores and wrinkles were caked with the foundation and it looked like I had applied the makeup 24 hours ago. I thought I put too much on but that was not the case. I tried putting Veil on first and that helped some. I went back to Matte.
Best foundation ever!
I've tried the original foundation, matte foundation and this is simply the BEST. It has good coverage and yet it doesn't look as "thick" as the loose powder foundation. It is very EASY to apply with the precision brush, and it is handy to have it carried around too!
Never going back to another foundation!
I received a sample of the READY foundation in the mail and I went to the store the next day to buy it! I used to use liquid foundations, but they were always too heavy and never looked natural. The READY foundation looks like my skin– only better! I really love it! I wear the lightest shade in foundation, but I purchased Medium because of the pink undertone. I also use Fairly Medium (also with a pink undertone) in the winter. The pink undertone works best for me and probably other redheads too. I really recommend this product!
Wow! The commercials ar true!!
I was very skeptical about Bare Minerals as I am now at that age where the wrinkles are showing up, and like others, I had heard at this age that one shouldn't use powders as they only emphasize the fine lines and wrinkles. I have uneven skin tone so I needed some kind of foundation to even skin out -- after trying and rejecting MANY liquids, I was desperate...enough to to give Bare Minerals a try when they introduced Ready.
When used correctly, it gives a lovely airbushed look -- I even had 3-4 people comment that I looked younger; what was I doing? That's enough to convince me. There are a couple things to watch out for to ensure success --
1. Get shade matched. As others have pointed out, Ready wears differently than the original foundation - the colors are NOT the same.
2. Be sure to let your moisturizer and serum set BEFORE you apply Ready. This made all the difference in the world for me in getting the wrinkle-blurring airbrushed look I was after.
I had high hopes for this foundation but it falls flat. The ease of using was great but the colors are not aligned with the minerals. After applying a thin layer, it doesn't look natural, it has a flat look. Highly disappointed.
I couldnt use the original formula foundation- it made my skin itch all day, i guess from an ingredient. I saw that this was a new formula and that is was a compact- an idea which i LOVE! (i hated dealing with the loose powder).
I watched all of the videos for this product before I tried to apply it so that I knew what I was doing and it paid off. This is so buttery, full coverge if you want it, light if you dont and it looks flawless. Wonderful product!
This was my first Foundation
I lovee it, ive been using Bare Minerals Foundation for about 2 months && im already in love with it. It gives great coverage.
Perfect product for clear/ low brake outs
I LOVE this product because I don't brake out a lot (only sometimes) and liquid foundation is just more coverage than I need. I wouldn't say it covered up my brake outs but it did stop them from being shiny and bright red. I don't like cakey makeup and so this is really nice to have. If you have a little more red on your nose then you would like to have then this is the product for you! But (in my opinion) it doesn't fully cover brake outs.
I also recommend using Prime time foundation primer when you use this product.
I received this as a sample complementary product and I am planning on buying the original!
By far the best foundation
This foundation is literally the best. It glides on so easy and lasts all day! if you have red spots it will cover that up completely! if you use it to cover up acne it doesnt really make the spot disappear while you are using it however it makes it blend in. I would really recommend this product. This price is amazing for what its worth and i prefer the matte foundation rather than the powder
This is a great foundation!
I was a little skeptical switching from the original formula to the new pressed formula, but because my skin has recently decided to be more dry my original formula wasn't going on as nicely or I would get flakes in the middle of the day even with a moisturizer on before the makeup. I am going through a dryer phase, nothing extreme. But, since I saw that this one increases hydration and I was running out of my regular minerals, I decided to give this a try. I love it. I didn't have to switch shades like the other ladies. I normally wear golden fair or light, and I switched to this formula and still wear light. It goes on so quickly, I think it covers a little better than the original formula. I've been wearing it for a week and have been very satisfied. Now, because it was a little more expensive than the original formula I was kinda ehhh. It seems like the original formula has a lot more powder in it than this pressed one. But since I feel like I hardly use any of the pressed to get coverage maybe it will last as long as the original. Anyways, go to a counter and get your matched shade. It's great stuff!
I can't describe the long painful (and expensive) journey I undertook to find a foundation that would perfectly work for me! It's either that the shade is off, makes my face look cakey, not enough coverage, and so on...
I do have very bad skin, acne, enlarged pores, redness, and to top it all of super sensitive skin that hardly tolerates anything! I friend of mine is a BM rep, and she asked me if she could try out this new product (BM ready foundation) on me. I'm like sure, free make over, yay!!! So I'm sitting there and she gets to work...what felt like 10 seconds later...she goes: Tada I'm done! Me: OK???? One look into the mirror and I couldn't believe my eyes. My skin looked naturally beautiful. Perfect shade and full coverage. And it felt amazing!!! I bought it on the spot. I do not have the Precision Brush (yet) and use it with a foundation sponge and the results are just the same, but I do believe I use more product with the sponge then I would with the brush. So the brush is naturally on top of my shopping list!!! Oh, and also it didn't irritate my skin, or worsened my acne. I will update my review after I used it for a few weeks to see if it improved my skin...
You must try Ready Foundation
I have been using Bare Minerals since the very beginning and loved the loose foundation. I am 59 years old and now find that my skin is a bit dryer. I heard about the new ready foundation with it's moisturizing benefits and thought I'd give it a try.
I went to the Bare Escentuals boutique and had a make-under using the new ready foundation. It took a couple of tries to get the color correct because the new ready foundation color runs a little different. In the loose foundation I use Medium Beige and a little help I found that the color best for me was Medium Tan. It gives my skin an airbrush look which I really like.
Never going back to liquid foundation!
I was getting fed up with my makeup routine and with the fact that my makeup never quite match my skin tone. I also found that I kept breaking out no matter what kind of foundation I tried. I really just wanted to get my skin healthy again, and my friends all suggested Bare Minerals. I went to the store to get matched, and after using it for literally 3 days I can say that I will NEVER go back to any other of the drug store foundations I had been using! Not only does the makeup match my skin perfectly, I swear it is actually improving the quality of my skin. I find that my skin is less irritated, and the redness has gone down a lot.
I am someone who NEEDED full coverage makeup, and I never thought I could get that from a "loose powder". But after using Bare Minerals I feel like I finally found my perfect makeup- feels light, but gives me the great coverage I need...all while improving my skin so that I ultimately won't need to wear foundation every single day! Definitely go to the store to get matched. I think this makeup is an investment, and to get the best experience and most for your money it helps to consult the experts! They are very helpful.
The search stops here!
I have recently been experiencing major breakout after using my foundations (Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, Makeup Forever HD and Matte formulas, Mac) and I decided that going natural was for the best...until my uneven skin tone and unpolished look brought me back to considering using makeup. I tried Clinique finishing powder that was allergen free but was disappointed by the coverage. I tried the Matte version of BE and it would have been perfect it it weren't for the odd colour match that multiple representatives tried. My face tends to oxidize makeup quickly and so shades tend to look awfully dark in a few hours against my complexion. I finally stopped by an actual BE store, thinking this was going to be my last attempt before I completely gave up. The representative suggested the same shade as the others did for matte, but applied it with a lighter hand that made it more appealing. However, she tried READY on me and the colour matched perfectly! Oxidation was minimal throughout the day and it literally felt like had no makeup on at all. The coverage, surprisingly, hid all the imperfections on my face despite the insignificant amount of product used. When she applied it, I did notice how dry it initially made me look and actually highlighted the acne scars I had which was awful. But after letting it settle, it looked flawless. With an application of a finishing powder or mineral veil, I was beyond pleased. Best of all, I never break out and I feel like I'm not wearing anything at all!
I would definitely get colour matched by a specialist. The shade designated on me was actually golden tan which I found to be a shade lighter than the golden medium in matte and was less yellow.
DEFINITELY NOT FOR ME
I am a long time user and lover of BareMinerals BUT I DON'T LOVE THE READY FOUNDATION!!!
I found the foundation to be too drying and cakey when applied - and I use the soft focus brush to apply my foundation because I like a sheer coverage.
Definitely NOT for me!
I loved this, but
it contains betaine, which is one of my particular allergens. I am so used to being able to get away with any Bare Minerals product I didn't even read the label, so the huge red flaky patch on my forehead is totally my own fault. The application and coverage were amazing, but if you have sensitivity issues, go cautiously with this one.
I was very surprised on coverage, stayed in the same color(medium beige). Very happy with coverage. Can not say enough how happy I am with product.
Good but not for me.
I loved this product when i first got it. It has great coverage and really easy to apply. I had a lot of trouble finding the perfect shade for me. And I started to realize that at the end of the day the foundation did not sit well on my face. It kind of just sat on top of my skin. And it was a little to much coverage for me. The product is great and does its purpose but it just did not work for me.
I love this new foundation. All the benefits of the loose foundation, plus a bit more coverage for my melisma and acne scars. I think it's great!
In the original Bare Minerals foundation, I wear the Golden Medium. For the new Ready foundation, I wear the Golden Tan.
I must say that I did not think anything could be better than the original foundation. I stand corrected. For me, the Ready foundation is the best. It is perfect.
It takes me less time to apply the Ready foundation. My skin looks totally natural. I have received numerous compliments on my skin, within the first week of wearing the Ready foundation. From people I see frequently, I have heard comments like "Your skin looks great" ... and "Did you have a facial" ,.. and "Wow, you look really good/healthy". Of course I tell them about the Ready foundation.
Thank you for the great products.
Awesome Foundation - Just perfect
I have been a matte powder user for a year. I love the product, but, definitely liked a fuller coverage look. I found that I was going through my foundation too quickly. I had even considered going back to a liquid foundation (which I really did not want to do). So, when this came out, I figured that I would give it a try. WOW!
FIRST - Make sure you get color matched! As much as I thought I knew what color I'd be, I was WRONG! I got matched perfectly and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation. It is soooo easy to use and a lot neater than the loose. You definitely need to also have the proper brush. That is another huge key. I find that one swipe really is enough. And, it stays looking great even after a good workout at the gym. I love the flawless look that it gives me. There is NO liquid foundation that can even compare.
Love The Ready
Once I found my perfect shade, I love, love the Ready Foundation. I wear Fairly Light in the Original and tried several other shades since I thought I needed to go a shade darker. Then, I decided to try the Ready Foundation in Fairly Light and it is perfect for my fall/winter shade. I will use Medium Beige in the Summer. For me, I didn't need a different shade in Ready. I love the formula, the way my skin looks and the fact that I don't need to touch up.
GREAT Product!!! Make sure not to use too much....a light hand is best.
Some of the reviews of this product are not entirely accurate, or at least not for my skin. I am 28, fair skinned (usually use light or fairly light in the loose mineral foundation) and somewhat on the dry side (I have to moisturize immediately after cleansing otherwise my skin gets tight). Yes, this does apply a heavier than the loose mineral foundation, but not to the point where you cannot control it. Some of the women who work at the BM stores wear is as though applied with a pallet knife, so yes it can be worn very heavy. However if you apply it delicately there is just a subtle step up in coverage and it stays put for a good 8 hours or longer with the exception of cover on blemishes. It does not feel heavy or oily, so in that respect it is much like any other BM product. As I said I usually use fairly light but after reading other reviews I decided to purchase this in the Medium Beige tone. It is perhaps slightly too dark, but it has the nice effect of evening out my skin tone which is starting to show slight signs of broken blood vessels and overly pink cheeks. Overall I think this is a nice product and will eventually purchase it again.
My favorite BE foundation
After both reading some negative reviews plus loving my matte foundation, I didn't think I'd switch. The mess of the powder and travel non-friendliness empowered me to try, and I'm SO glad I did. I love this even more than my matte. I use less, it's easier and faster to apply, and (if this is possible with BE looking so natural), it's even more natural looking. My skin looks flawless, and I'm done applying in all of a minute. Another plus for me is I hardly have to use my concealer (BE powder concealer ) because this conceals so well. I find it even gets rid of my awful under eye darkness. Since I've read so many negative reviews, I thought I'd mention a few things. First, make sure your moisturizer and primer are totally dry. Next, you need the Precision brush because you need to PRESS, and being flat, this brush makes that easier to do. Next, oh my gosh do NOT swirl, tap, and buff and don't think you need to use as much. You'll make a mess and it will look awful. Just like the video, press, then apply long strokes. Then maybe another light coat. You don't want to see product on your brush or you've used too much. Also, if you like the original's non-matte look, you might not like this. It looks creamy and matte-- no glow. I spent the time writing this because I love the product and hope I can help others who perhaps used it incorrectly. Can't speak for breakouts here because neither matte nor Ready bothered me. It has different minerals in it so that's possible. I love it and my skin looks fantastic, which it is not without BE!
Not for me...
I have used BE for years and LOVE it, so I figured the new pressed foundation would be great, as well. This was the ONLY new product I used and after only two days, my chin started to break out in pimples. I upped my cleansing routine, but it didn't help. After stopping using the pressed foundation and going back to the original powder, my skin cleared up and I haven't had the problem since. I ended up returning the pressed foundation to the BE store and trading it in for my normal powder. I also didn't care for how much of the pressed powder I had to use to get the same coverage I normally get from the loose powder. I think I'll just stay with the original BE foundation powder. Why mess with an already perfect product? The only nice thing I did like was that it came with a mirror and was perfect for carrying in my purse...except it doesn't come with a brush, which still raises that problem when traveling.
If I had begun with this foundation, added the correcting concealer, the mineral veil and the blush...I would have no need for all the loose powders and brushes. The four above mentioned products and a moisturizer is all that is needed to make your day gorgeous. They are all I am taking on my trip to Florida next month. My suitcase will be so much lighter.
Love them all.
