Q & A

READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4 5 259 259
Love it! I'm loving this more and more. I wasn't so sure at first because I was using too much product. All it takes is one tap and then long swipes across my face with the precision face brush. I do one layer like that, repeating the one tap at a time until my face is covered, then I go back with the regular face brush and add a little just to the spots that need it. I have very fair skin and Medium R210 is perfect for me. (I'm 53 with sensitive, dryish skin.) I'm so happy I gave this a try! 10/08/2014
Great for Touch Ups! I bought this product hoping to have my favorite foundation more readily available to me at work, since I work anywhere from 8 to 10 hour shifts. And it is a high-pace environment, so sweat happens. The product is small enough to fit in my small hand-purse (it is literally a hand-purse), and it works great for the touch ups I need to do. I bought BM travel-size face brush, and I use it with the READY foundation. However, the only complaint is I feel like a lose a lot of product due to the nature of the brush. I wish I had a better applicator for READY foundation. Other than that though, the coverage is great and portable for sure! 10/01/2014
Pls don't ever discontinue or change this product! Let me first start by saying that I hope the READY Foundation never gets discontinued or changed. This is a quality product that has changed my view of foundation. ~THE FEEL OF THIS PRODUCT..... When I apply this foundation it feels like I have nothing on my face. I often times forget I'm wearing it because it feels like my natural skin. This is something I love as I am not a big foundation wearer. My husband always tells me he likes me without foundation but when I wear READY bare minerals foundation he told me he likes it equally as well as my bare face look... That makes me happy.. :) ~MY SKINS RESPONSE TO THIS FOUNDATION..... I have dry, sensitive skin that likes to crack and get dry blotches when I wear any foundation. It also is very prone to breakouts and bumps when I use foundation. I have tried countless foundations and I've always been bitterly disappointed with my skins response to them... I.e. breakouts and dry cracked skin... I have been using bare minerals READY foundation for about a month now and I can wholeheartedly and honestly say my skin has actually IMPROVED since wearing it. I have the clearest skin that I've had in years and my skin has a subtle glow that I am loving. So if I decide not the wear foundation on some days I'm proud to show my healthy skin ~APPLICATION AND PACKAGING..... Applying this product is simple in my opinion. I use a sigma f80 flat top kabuki brush... As long as you have a dense flat top brush you can get a beautiful finish. Be light handed when dipping into the product. Place brush on product and very lightly push(don't swirl!!!!) then apply to 1section of your face at a time in long soft strokes again not swirling your brush on your face either. Get more product in same manner as previously stated. Do this in layers until you build up to the coverage you desire. It's quick and surprisingly easy. Blends beautifully and only takes a few minutes. Packaging is beautiful and sleek. Easy to carry and non-messy. ~OVERALL SUMMARY... Great product. I will continue to purchase as long as they don't discontinue it or change it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Definitely get color matched as the colors aren't the same as their other foundations. My holy grail foundation because it doesn't cause me ANY breakouts, looks airbrushed and flawless, light and natural felling, gives me a little boost of confidence, and actually improves my natural skin. Hope this is helpful!!:) 09/28/2014
I love this stuff! I am tempted to buy this stuff in bulk because Im so scared they'll discontinue it! I love love love my Ready makeup! I've used the original Bare Minerals before, but I gave up on it because it got messy and the amount I'd see on the counter made me think half of it was going down the drain, even though the coverage was flawless! Fast forward 2-3 years later. After using acne-assisting liquid makeup and still suffering from breakouts and even getting really expensive specialty makeup for acne that exacerbated the problem worse than over the counter stuff (not to mention no matter what shade I picked you could always tell I was wearing makeup!), I decided to try one last investment. I chose Ready makeup because it promised full coverage with ease of application, and that it is! You just do that little easy tap-tap and voila! Beautiful coverage, no make-up lines! And I literally don't have to wash my face before bed (in case I forget or I'm so exhausted I can't pry myself out of bed) and I wake up and my sensitive face has no blemishes and no yuck makeup transfer everywhere! AND! It's so much less messy than liquid foundation! You don't get your hands all gunky as you start your day! I will say that I like to think I'm fair skinned, but the light neutral version (R170), while blending in flawlessly, looks a little too light for my skin per my husband, even though I tried my best to shade match via the Internet. I ordered the medium neutral version last night (r250) so I'll try that out. If worse comes to worse, I can always blend. But I'm content with what I have and a bronzer so we'll see! The precision face brush is a must have with this product. It's expensive, but an investment (you'll never have to buy it again)! And the videos that show you how to use this product are short and informational. Very helpful! I'm SO excited. Im spending about twice as much as I was on drug store brands (and actually less than department store brands),but the pay off has been such a blessing. Worth every penny. Because I can't tell you how much I've spent on different foundations, acne cleansers, etc just to not use them. This product works GREAT over a normal moisturizer after dried. If you like eye shadow, it does not show up as well as it does on a liquid base (which is like its own primer), so a good idea would be to get the eyeshadow primer. Amazing, skin-nurturing, easily portable, non-messy beauty! Ohhhh I love this stuff! GREAT JOB BARE MINERALS! You're worth ALL the hype! Please don't stop making my makeup! 09/18/2014
Loove it! I have been using BM original loose formula for 10 years now but I feel like I need more coverage and was tired of the messy powder.. I tried the new bareskin liquid and it was a fail , to greasy and light coverage, I felt like it never set :( I wear shade med-biege in the loose BM , I ordered" Med-tan R3310" and it was an okay color match, to light--- but I really liked the coverage with pressed powder!! It really covered any red areas and the hyper-pigmentation !!I don't need to wear concealer!! I can work out and sweat and my make up is still on! The compact lasted only 5 weeks-- bummer because it so expensive! Next time around I ordered a shade darker " Golden Tan R330" and it a perfect match!! YAY!!! I really love the pressed powder it just cost more and I run out faster versus BM powder.. 09/10/2014
expected a lot more from BE I guess first of all I cannot understand why the shades of Ready don't match the she shades of the original foundation. Makes it impossible to purchase online, and not everyone is fortunate enough to live near a boutique to be color matched. Regardless, I have found the Ready to be very cakey. It is difficult to apply a light layer, so by the time I'm done my face looks heavy and thick with make. What I've always liked about BE is the natural look, but this in now way provides that. Very disappointed. Plus based on online comments and suggestions, not only do you end up with an expensive product that does not work, but you get fooled into thinking it will work if use the right brush, so there's another chunk of change spent without any better result. I hope BE will take all of reviews into consideration and really work on improving this product. The tap swirl and buff technique is so cumbersome. Having a Ready foundation would be so convenient, if only it worked. 08/27/2014
Finally! I've been struggling for the past year or so, trying to find foundation that matches my skin well, and also has a near flawless finish. I tried other brands, then the mineral powder, then finally I tried this just on a whim. The coverage is just amazing, you cant see any of my freckles through it, the finish is very smooth, almost air brush like. I absolutely love it. It also feels very light and it lasts all day. You may need to blot in the middle of the day but without any additional powder. If you're thinking about trying this you HAVE to do it. I cant imagine anyone will be disappointed. 08/25/2014
Full coverage + shade difference I started using Bare Minerals foundation in 2004. I loved it. However, when I started getting more redness in my face, along with some occasional mild acne, I switched back to liquid foundation for fuller coverage (and it was faster to 'fix' my redness/acne with a liquid). Now, after 3 years of liquid foundations, I had to stop because of some new skin problems. I just purchased the READY foundation in Golden Medium, since that is the shade I used for BM Matte. The coverage is really amazing. However, the Golden Medium was way too light on my skin. I had to exchange it for Golden Tan (which looks A LOT darker in the compact, but goes on lighter). I would recommend getting the shade one darker than you would normally use at Bare Minerals. I'm really impressed with this full coverage, velvety foundation! 08/23/2014
Keeps breaking! I absolutely love this foundation... it gives perfect coverage that I need everyday. It also feels light and airy. However, towards the end my compacts always break as in the makeup inside shatters and is no longer usable. Recently, I bought a new compact and the makeup shattered inside and the entire new compact was unusable. Its frustrating because you spend so much money and not all of it can be used. 08/01/2014
Covers acne I cannot say enough about this product and how it helped me through a bad acne breakout. You cannot put it on heavy or you'll look ridiculous. I used their concealer for the acne leas ions. Also warmth, and a blush. They helped to take the emphasis off the acne. The girl at the BM store was more than nice when she did this mini makeover! I now only use the original foundation and Ready on special occasions because I find it to be more moisturizing than the original and I want my face to be as clear as possible. The concealer I don't think clogged my pores but I watch these products as an acne sufferer. I usually walk around with no makeup for the lesions to heal. 07/30/2014

I have used both the Original and the Ready Foundation, but find that the latter is more difficult to cleanse, usually resulting in having to cleanse twice to make sure all is removed.

Honestly the best way to apply in my opinion is with a dense flat top brush. I personally love the sigma f80 flat top kabuki... That's what I use and I get so many compliments that my skin looks natural and flawless... If your going to use such a great foundation you might as well get the best result by using a good brush. Bare minerals has their READY Precision Face Brush that works great also... Hope this helps... I probably wouldn't use a cotton ball though

The only successful way to apply this makeup, since really it's a compact powder, is to use the precision face brush. There's a great video on the foundation's page that shows you how to tap and then apply in long strokes, and it results in AMAZING coverage. The way the foundation is made there's just not really a good way to get around using it or a kabuki brush. I know it's a little pricey but it is SO worth it and you never have to buy it again-- this coming from someone who doesn't have very many pennies to spare! Hope this helps!

I think a brush is needed, a cotton ball or your fingers will just put the product in one spot. This foundation blends so nicely into the skin, but it won't without a brush in my opinion. I left my Precision Face Brush at my vacation home, and now use a big fluffy brush, or a mini kabuki, and get a nice medium coverage.

My Rosacea prone areas seem to get blotchy and the foundation doesn't cover well (nose and cheeks) Is my foundation too light?, am I not blending enough? It doesn't do it when I apply a very light application but I need to apply more for the coverage. The more I apply the worse it gets

With me, a really good moisturizer before I put the base on has done wonders for this. If the more you out on, the more bothersome it is, you could also probably stand to have a darker foundation. I'm fair but had to go from R170 to R250. Hope this helps ya!

I am not a professional makeup artist or anything but I have tried both formulas and work outside no matter how hot or cold it is.

I think (at least with my skin, yours may be different) they both last about the same in the heat and they both will wipe off while using a napkin. I have used both with and without primer. The Ready foundation, I feel, does a little better than Bareskin without a primer as far as last power. However, while using a primer, I feel the Bareskin does better and looks better throughout the day (more natural, not like a mask) while working in the heat and sweating (a lot).

I think you will like this for sure! My skin is very oily during the summer months, and this foundation does the trick. No shine at all; by the end of the day my skin looks like I just put on foundation. I would definitely give it a go. Get shade matched first since it will make all the difference.

It's general rule that you'll be one shade darker than the Original formula in the Ready foundation. However, after my experience, if you can get to a boutique or anywhere that sells it so you can test it first and/or be shade matched, that's the best.

I've heard of other people using other foundation brushes to apply the ready foundation. I have the precision face brush. I love the brush because it picks up just enough product and blends it so well over my whole face. This brush is very soft as well.

I would think almost any brush would work but I definitely think you should use a brush to get it blended well

Yes! I have the most sensitive skin-- anything I put on it makes acne POP up, redness occur... My face gets very angry-- and this is the only makeup I've ever used that has not only gone on without any reactions, but has actually made it look better! It's really exciting for me to have found such a great product! #magic

A blush typically comes in shades varying from light pinks to darker reds, giving the skin a pretty touch of color. (Not sunburnt, but more so "flushed")
Bronzers range from browns to orange browns. They are used for contouring and to give a sun kissed, tanned glow.
