Q & A

Mineral Veil - null is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 275.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if one layer is applied. This is a great powder if you apply one layer. If you use it to help with shine, it starts to look cakey. I love the way it feels on my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use it all the time I decided to try the shimmering version of the mistral veil this time around and decided I love the slight shimmer and sparkle it gives my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I use the original shade and I love it. It completes the look. I wouldn't wear make-up without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect finish This product sets the look. Balancing and simple, this fine powder is finishing and easy. I use it everyday for a soft, healthy glow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Original Minetal Veil Mineral veil is like the cherry on the top of a sundae! When using Bare Minerals foundation you could go without it but it makes your skin/complexion look so much better without making you look like you put on additional makeup if that makes sense. It just makes you look healthier with a slight glow. It also makes my makeup last all day and I'm talking like a 12-16 hour day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sets My Concealer-Love Product I have used the Hydrating Mineral Veil for years. I usually just use it to set my undereye concealer. so nothing smudges. I don't really feel the need to "set" my entire face so a jar lasts me a very, very long time and it doesn't seem to ever go bad. I do have an issue with the previous review because after I read her review about the cornstarch, I looked at the ingredients on my jar (which is at least 2 years old or maybe even older) and it listed cornstarch as one of the ingredients. Not the 1st one, but it was there. Not a problem for me....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same mineral veil - Cornstarch is the first ingredient This was an award winner at one time. NO LONGER. Ladies, most of the Bare Minerals products now contain cornstarch as the first ingredient. And that includes the original mineral veil we all loved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My Veil I love Mineral Veil. Less really is more. I use just a tiny bit on my forehead and cheeks, which makes my skin look soft and glowing. I avoid using it around my nose, because I do wear glasses and it does "separate/clump" a teeny bit. When it does, I just reapply with my Ready touch up Veil.

Does the Mineral Veil go on after everything (foundation, blush, bronzer) or just after foundation?

I have always heard not to use powder on mature skin, does it magnify you fine lines?

Just trying to find out what is best for my skin. I'm 50.
Asked by: DeaCZ
I was worried about this too but I have not found this to be the case. This product is so light that it doesn't emphasize any flaws.

"Tinted Feather Light Mineral Veil" with pink lid vs. new "Tinted" or "Illuminating?"

I just finished up a HUGE container of "Tinted Feather Light Mineral Veil" that my mother in law gave me years ago. I immediately stopped using my regular Mineral Veil once I tried it. It has a subtle sparkle and gives truly, utterly flawless coverage over my medium beige powder foundation. I want to replace it, but there isn't a Mineral Veil by the same name. The new "Tinted" Mineral Veil is described as "feather light," but the "Illuminating" Mineral Veil is described as having that subtle sparkle. Do I need to use both to achieve the same look as my old Mineral Veil?!

What's the difference between Flawless Radiance vs. Mineral Veil?

I don't see the difference. The only difference is the price..
Asked by: wasin
Have you tried Mineral Veil? I use it as a last step because it seems to pull your face together and just kind of perfect it! Like airbrushing or filter effect for your complexion. I don't get that same result from Radiances. Those are more like a highlighter, give more of like a glow which I like but wouldn't call it a can't-live-without. MV definitely is!

How long does this mattify you're skin?

I have VERY oily skin and I'm still in high school, so it's embarrassing to "casually" wipe the excess oil on your nose or forehead. (I get oily mainly in the "t-zone"). How long does this product mattify you're skin and what's the best way to use this so the mattification lasts longer?
Asked by: emilychan
I have very oily skin as well and the translucent mineral veil really helps! It last around 6 hours before I have to touch up my t-zone area from being shiny. I would recommend using the oil control primer, mineral foundation in matte, and then the translucent mineral veil.

Which is the right mineral veil for medium tan skin?

I've tried the tinted and it left a dull layer on my skin. I then tried the illuminating mineral veil and really loved how it left a glow, but the glow is very light for my medium to tan complexion. Any advice? Should I try to mix the two together?
Asked by: mauibeach
Have you tried the original mineral veil? that is what I use and you cannot even see that you have it on.

Refilling Bare Essentual compacts

I have 2 Bare Essentual compacts. How can I refill them with Mineral Veil now that the product has that extra leak-proof inner lid?
Asked by: Meow
Try putting a quarter into the grove on the back lid. Pry it up and put product in, place the lid back down and carefully push it into place.
