Rated 5 out of 5 by azooeydejesusgirl Well-Rested Face and Eye Brightener
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this product; it's not a concealer, it is just a brightener. However, I have learned to love it! It especially helps me on the days where I am extra tired and my eyes need a little perking up. I usually usually put it on after my concealer for a little more brightening up. Overall a great product if you're looking for something to brighten your complexion.
Remember, it's not a concealer; it's a brightener! If you're looking for a concealer, try the Correcting Concealer or the Bisque powder concealer.
Tip: After getting some product on the applicator, tap it onto your eye, brow bone, etc. and then pat/roll the product till it is absorbed.
Rated 4 out of 5 by BEbeautiful Brightens Eyes & Minimizes Dark Circles/Blemishes
This product is great for brightening under eyes and minimizing dark circles/puffiness. I would not say that it gets rid of dark circles completely, but minimizes them so that it's not noticeable.
The one thing I don't like is the applicator. When first receiving the product, you do have to click it about 3-5 times in order for the product to "start flowing". What I like to do to conserve is brush the areas I need with the applicator and then blend in using my fingers. It is easier to even out, rather than using the applicator brush. I also use it to cover up/minimize blemishes as well.

I'm really enjoying this brightener. I'm confused as to why people think it's a concealer - it's not, nor does the description claim to be. I use this brightener along with my Well Rested Concealer and the results are subtly beautiful. I use the concealer for my dark circles, and dot the brightener along the tops of my cheekbones and slightly over the dark circles. Like I said, the effect is subtle - nothing earth shattering, but combining this with other concealers does brighten the look around my eyes (not just under them).
I agree the applicator could be changed to be more useful - I blend it with my finger instead. I recommend for those looking for a highlighter without all the shimmer!

Dont waste your money on this. The product is decent but the packaging ruins it. Ive owned it for months and it's still a hassle every morning. You never get out the right amount and it take forever to get it out.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Jackie4513 Brightens it up!
This product is great at brightening it up under the eyes, as specified. It is light weight and easy to put on.
The applicator is not exactly my ideal. I would rather it be like the stroke of brightness. For this one, I click it out and put it on my finger to apply.
It goes on weightlessly, and can layer on concealer easily. It does need to be layered if youre looking to conceal, because while it brightens, it really doesn't conceal that well.
Rated 5 out of 5 by SFLBrw17 Cover your dark circles - ALL DAY!
Perfect for DARK circles. This is NOT a concealer. At the BM store they showed me how to use it properly. I have SEVERE dark circles and have spent thousands trying to cover them. This WORKS like a CHARM. 1. Apply BM moisturizing eye creme 2. Apply a small amount of Well Rested about 3 clicks, 3. With a fluffy brush load it with your fav BM mineral foundation and tap over under eye 4. Repeat with brush and mineral veil. LASTS 12 hrs, no creasing, no fading, no settling in lines, no reverse raccoon. What are you waiting for? Click add to bag now!

I tried it but it was a hassle to use with the bruch applicator. The one I purchased only had 3 uses. What a disappointment.
Rated 5 out of 5 by shellbell12 Great Brightener
I am disappointed by so many reviews bashing this product because it doesn't conceal. This product never claimed to conceal like the powder, only brighten. And it does exactly that. When I first was turned on to BE, I went to a boutique and the girl that worked with me used this on my eyes first, and then the Well Rested concealer powder. The two together, in her words, "look bomb!" For someone with dark circles like me, you cannot rely on this product solely, but it is great for highlighting.
In terms of the dispenser, I don't really like the brush - its easiest for me to wipe the product on my finger and use it that way instead of using the brush. The first time you use it you will have to click it a lot #and I do mean a lot# for the product to start coming up, but then for each use after that, I use about 3 clicks to cover both eyes. I can't totally speak for how long this lasts, but I've been using it so far every day for 3 months and it isn't showing signs of running out yet, so I think it is definitely worth the cost.
Rated 2 out of 5 by BEfaithful Frustrating delivery system
I love the product itself, but the delivery system is a hassle to use. I can twist the dial for a minute or so before product comes out. The price does not justify the amount of product that is ultimately delivered. The product prevents creasing of eyeshadow, which is awesome. Unfortunately, I will have to go back to the powder form.
Rated 2 out of 5 by revived1086 Not worth it
I got this as part of a set and was disappointed with it. It lasted for a very short time compared to all my other BareMinerals products (maybe a month, if that). You can't actually apply it with the brush- you have to rub it in with your finger, and it didn't really seem to make much of a difference once applied.
Rated 4 out of 5 by SuziQ amazing ...pros and cons
pros love the coverage, i bought it in a small combo with brightener, eye primer, and mineral veil, if used in that order it provides perfect brightening for under eyes and eyelids..its more of a highlighter for tired eyes than a concealer, best eye highlighter I've used in 25 yrs!!
cons, the applicator has issues, i thought it was a bad one until i read the reviews i wondered if i had left the lid unsecured and it dried out so the next time i used it i turned the dial more still nothing then next time i opened it gushes of wasted product? just wait it will come out onto the brush eventually i guess??
Rated 1 out of 5 by Zebrawoman Well rested face and eye brightener
Difficult to smooth out...container doesn't distribute easily. Not nearly as efficient as original powder form...will go back to that.
Rated 2 out of 5 by keegs218 Essentially did nothing.
I've used MANY eye illuminators, this was the first time using this brand's.... So disappointed. Really. It essentially did nothing at all. I tried it many different ways, from putting it on before my concealer all the way to putting it on after my Ready foundation. It didn't make any difference at all. Frankly, to be honest, a drug store brand that costs 1/4 of the price has done a better job IMO of "illuminating" the eye area to take away from dark circles.
I suppose if youre looking for an overall face highlighting product this might be what you would be looking for, but if you're looking for strictly under eye / dark circle concealer/highlight/illuminating then look elsewhere.
I have given it 2 stars b/c it is a very light weight product which makes it easily blendable so you could use it over your foundation and not have the product smudge or cake up - but thats the only reason it did not get 1 star. Which is sad b/c I was hoping this would be an amazing product.
I am sure other people have different opinions, but for me, this did not work.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sophie Well-Rested Pen
I think the Well-Rested pen is a great product, because it does brighten your undereye area. What I do is use the Well-Rested pen and my BareMinerals concealer afterwards, it really helps with the covering and to look more awake. The product pretty much does its work! It's not a concealer on its own though, not like the powder.. I've seen people comment that they wish it gave more coverage. For extra coverage, I would probably go for the Stroke of Light.

I had received a full size sample from sephora a few weeks ago! And hadn't used it till one day! Now I'm all about going over the top on making the unders of my eyes bright! So when I first tried this gem I was besides my self! It cuts so much time out and gives me that desired brightness I love and need! I would tell everyone that this is a must in there make-up bag! Another home run on this one

I have bought this alone and in a collection and will continue to buy! It works and always makes my eyes look rested and fresh!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sunshine95 Sample that I'll buy again & again!
I received a sample of Well Rested Face & Eye Brightener in a Sephora bonus. I was skeptical, but was incredibly surprised at how well it works. It's so easy to use, and is perfect for highlighting right under my brows, the inside and outside corners of my eyes. I love the pen format. I don't tend to have under eye circles, so I can't speak for how well it handles that issue. It's not sparkly, or shiny, just a nice highlight. If I use it in the morning, adding a tad more at the end of the day is a nice refresher. Once the sample's gone, I'll definitely be buying more!
Rated 5 out of 5 by martinaj78 Beautiful!
Gives a beautiful highlighted eye look. I do prefer the loose well rested to the pen, however, the liquid well rested does have an ever-so-slight of a natural shimmer to it that makes the brightening so beautiful.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Jamie4 Terrible
This is nothing like the original powder Well Rested. The powder was great at hiding little dark spots and as an all-over light concealer. I don't have big dark circles, but the powder form was always great for actually brightening my eyes. This makes them look saggy somehow. This product is watery, runny, and shiny...and does nothing for my skin. The applicator is hard to open and provides very uneven coverage. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR THE POWDER WELL-RESTED. I am thinking I will go back to using a different brand. This is not for me. I expect more from Bare Minerals.
Rated 2 out of 5 by JLyn1 Seriously disappointed
I received this yesterday with the expectation that it would be of similar consistency/coverage to the powder form. I have tried to use it multiple times and am just flat out disappointed. It is nothing like the original; it doesn't provide hardly any coverage. It literally only adds a little moisture and shimmer to your under-eyes, which creates a reflection of light...making your eyes appear brightened. The powder form actually does the job....so please bring it back!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ruma Great product that does WHAT IT SAYS.
I have noticed people talking about "coverage" and the lack thereof. This product is NOT a concealer. The powder concealer or the "stroke of light" will help tone dark dark circles. This product is FABULOUS. for brightening the inner eye area, brow bone, couple spots on the forehead, and especially top of cheekbones which can be hard to do with a lot of products. I like this product for winter, because when I use all powder substances my face dries out and makes me look older than I am. I like that BE is starting to have more liquid or semi-liquid options. Per the dispenser... you have to watch the product come up the tube when you first use it. When it gets close to the brush, start clicking slower, then when it starts flowing out, from then on, ONLY click it 1-2 times at a time. Dab it along the area you want to high light, and then rub it in with your fingertips... it will blend pretty well the other make-up you have on. This product's packaging CAN be tricky to use, and it does not conceal dark spots. BUT this product it not a concealer, so people who have that complaint have bought the wrong product. If you go into a boutique, the workers there will tell you that the big difference in stroke of light and well rested is that well rested brightens the complexion but doesn't conceal. I like the well rested because it brightens without being sparkly- it looks more natural. The powder can be harder to blend sometimes and can sink into wrinkles/dry spots/ fine lines very easy. Just make sure you are buying this product for its intended purpose and you'll love it.
Rated 1 out of 5 by BilloosMom Poor delivery system
I was excited about this product since I have perpetual dark circles under my eyes. When I use it, it doesn't provide enough coverage for me, but that's not the problem. No matter what I did, I couldn't make the product flow our of the applicator. I turned and turned with no success. I called Bare Escentuals and was sent a new container - which isn't much better. I have to shake it, then turn it several times before any product comes into the brush, and often I get no result at all - or so much I can't use it all! So disappointed with this product because I really love Bare Escentuals and recommend it to everyone.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Johanna Le Older under eyes finally get a break!
I just turned 50 and find that powder concealers crease in my under eye area adding to an older crinkly look. Liquid concealers are about the same because the skin is getting very thin under my eyes. This product however, glides on smooth, stays smooth, doesn't sit in creases and brightens so I only need a very thin hint of powder cover for which mineral veil is perfect. I'm really hoping there is some bleaching because much to my chagrin I am getting those age spots under my eyes now too. Even if it won't bleach the age spots, I will definitely buy this product again.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amyy Subtle but noticeable
First of all this is NOT a concealer. I was a little agitated reading negative reviews about this product. The product works well and does exactly what it claims to do (which is not conceal). If you are patient enough to click the pen a few times and wait to see what comes out you won't waste any. It visibly brightens without being sparkly. It blends right in to your foundation. If you have horrible dark eyes use something that claims to be a concealer to cover it. This is not that. It is light and not cakey and I can't even feel it on my face but do see a brighter difference. It's not a miracle worker- it's make up. It is meant to enhance your own beauty- not cover up your whole face in hopes of making you beautiful.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MelG Best brightener I've used
I haven't had to much luck with brighteners in the past because I do not like my face to be glittery. This stuff works so well. It really brightens my under eye area and makes me look like I actually got sleep the night before. I also use it on my forehead and cheekbones to give my face a glowy look. One note is that this product is not a concealer. It brightens, not hides under eye circles. I like to mix it with my concealer for a highlighted, bright look that lasts all day.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Parker929 Going back to the powder!
So disappointed in this product. It is very unpredictable to use. The cream seems to flow out with a mind of its own so I feel like I waste a lot. It really doesn't seem to do the job it's supposed to do. I was using the Well Rested powder mixed with Eye Rever-upper cream. It was wonderful but I was hoping for one product to do the job of both. This is not the product. Will not buy again.
Rated 2 out of 5 by GreenThumb There are better options
I was really excited to try this product. I often use the loose eyeshadow version (Well-Rested 20 spf Eye Brightener) but wanted something easier for on-the-go and travel. However, I doubt I will use this product, and if I do use it, I will combine it with another product (see "Alternatives" below). The downsides:
(1) Not as full of coverage as the loose shadow version. If you have very, VERY light "dark" areas, this might work well for you. Otherwise, I suggest trying the loose shadow version. I only notice the slightest difference under my eyes and elsewhere when I apply this product generously.
(2) It's difficult to get started. They suggest five "click" turns to get the product flowing. I tried diligently. Then a few more clicks. Nothing. Waited while I kept trying to apply it. Few more clicks, etc. I probably turned it more than twenty times before the product flowed the first time. Ever since then, it's been a little unpredictable about when enough will be in the brush. In sum, it's a tricky, unpredictable application mechanism.
(1) I suggest the Bare Minerals powdered, loose shadow version of Well-Rested (20 SPF) for fuller coverage and controllable application.
(2) I also suggest Bare Minerals' "Stroke of Light Eye Brightener." It is better than all three at brightening (especially the under-eye area), and has slightly more coverage than this liquid well-rested product. Additionally, the Stroke of Light has an excellent application brush that's very easy to control. If you want an on-the-go, liquid option, try the Stroke of Light (which also layers well with the shadow Well-Rested for a best-of-both-worlds effect).
Rated 5 out of 5 by LansingBarista A good solution to dark circles
I'm almost astounded by how well this product works on dark circles under the eyes. I can't speak for puffiness, as I don't have that problem, but this eye brightener blends in wonderfully and makes my skin look even and healthy, and honestly fixing the dark circles made my whole makeup routine look better. My only problem with the product is that after washing my face my under eye area is a little pink, but there is no irritation or dryness, and it fades soon enough. Overall, I expect to buy this brightener again.
