Q & A

ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.7 5 193 194
Love bareminerals Just r recently purchased this and love it already goes on smoothly wonderful coverage it is my go to now!! 08/22/2015
4 years and counting... I've been using this foundation exclusively for 4 years now! The coverage is very buildable, lasts all day, and feels soo light on my skin. It's very nourishing and doesn't clog my pores, which has improved the clarity of my skin tremendously. I have oily skin so I do have to blot my t-zone while wearing foundation but the makeup stays put all day, regardless of how oily or sweaty I am! I do have to buy two colors at a time (fairly light and medium beige) and mix them in order to get the desired color. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could have a color custom mixed for you at their boutiques?! Anyway, I think I found my forever foundation. Thank you BM! 08/22/2015
Easy to use this covers well without looking cakey almost like a second skin. I had to exchange it for the matte version which I absolutely love. I found the original a tad too "glowing" which is not a look I was striving for, of course others may like that look, it lasts almost all day. I had tried BM a long long time ago but did not like it decided to try again the color medium beige is a perfect match for me I love how it covers without settling in the lines I threw away all the other foundations in my "collection" will be using this for a long long time( in the matte version) 08/20/2015
Move over Liquid Foundation Back in high school, I used to wear mineral foundation but found that it wasn't giving me the coverage I wanted or needed. Ever since, I've been a fan of liquid foundation and currently use Bareskin everyday...it's the best foundation I've found so far for my skin. But with my recent purchase, I was sent a sample of the Original Mineral Foundation and decided to try it. I think I love it just as much! You can add as little or as much powder to the brush to get the coverage you want and I was pretty satisfied that it hid the slight redness to my cheeks and forehead just as well as the liquid! 08/20/2015
Best Clean-feeling makeup Great for sensitive skin, covers as much or as little as you like and yet feels weightless on. As a previous L'oreal mineral user, there is no comparison. It may look the same but it is not the same quality. My skin texture has improved and the blemishes from the inferior makeup have disappeared. 08/20/2015
Found my Match Up until 10 years ago, I was purchasing my foundation from a company that custom mixed your shade because I could not find a good match. I have found my a perfect match for both my winter and summer skin colors, which are dramatically different. It is also important to note that the shades I require have not changed since I found my colors. Thanks BE! 08/16/2015
Fantastically right! I've been a faithful customer of BareMinerals for over ten years now. Since this product and out however, I've noticed that a) my skin is clearer than before, and b) I get more compliments on my skin and how it "practically glows with beauty". Thanks for the amazing make up! 08/16/2015
Love my BM I really enjoy the light weight and feel of BM products. I use the original Med. and my skin looks flawless. I really appreciate natural looking beauty & BM delivers it. My only CON is... some of the jars don't have a (turn cover) not sure what its called. lol!! I purchase a larger Original foundation with some other powder products and its the WORST to travel with. I try to tap tap tap it back into the wholes. Not good! Hope someone who designs the jars places a turn cover on all size jars. . 08/07/2015
perfect This is the only foundation that doesn't break me out. It lasts so long because a little goes a long way! I recommend it to everyone I talk to about makeup with. 08/06/2015
The Best! I've been using the original foundation for over 2 years now it has great coverage and you look natural I love it! 08/01/2015

I have extremely dry skin and put my moisturizer on about 15 to 30 min prior to my foundation. I seem to get cakey spots on my face. I noticed that even with out using moisturizer I get the spots, just not as bad. I thought it was because it's a powder, but I had the same issue when using a liquid foundation from cover girl. That was why I switched to bare minerals. What can I do.
P.S. I ordered your bareskin several days ago in hopes that it would be better for me.

Hey Hun,
Gotta say, I feel you. In my experience when you get the Cakey spots from make up, your moisturizer might a) be the wrong type for your kin, or b) you might be using too much. If it option a, then try switching brand or moisturizing types. If it is option b, try applying about a dime sized dollop to your whole face And down your neck. Most people don't think to ply thier moisturizers anywhere but the face, when they should apply under the chin and down the neck as well.
Hope this helps!

With the the foundation that you just ordered make sure you are swirling it on to your face and it the cap because before you may have been layering your skin which would give it a cakey look. Trust me you will love bare minerals. I have been using it for 7 months now and i love it

original is slightly luminous. it has somewhat of a shimmer. some notice, some don't, but the matte is just that. no shimmer, and seems to absorb more oil without going shiny

A:
Original has a natural luminous finish that will enhance those with combo/dry or dry skin types. The matte helps to absorb excess oil, and leave a matte finish instead of a luminous one on the skin. The best way for you to decide is to first consider your skin type. Then visit a boutique, Sephora, or Ulta and allow them to put you in the foundation that best suits your skin needs.

I really want to love this and sometimes it looks good but often it looks heavy in places and very shiny esp on my nose. Or at times I see all of the pores on my nose. What am I doing wrong?

There are a number of questions I need to ask you before I can help give you the advice you seek. Of course, the best answer is for you to visit a boutique and have a BM makeup artist work with you to perfect the look you want. Here are the questions I would ask you. 1. What is your skin care routine and are you consistently doing it? 2. What is your skin type and are you using the right products for it? 3. Have you tried the Prime Time primer underneath the foundation? 4. What brushes are you using to create your look?

You're not putting the mineral veil on all over your face or either you don't brush around the foundation evenly

It depends. Do you want additional coverage or just a setting powder? If additional coverage is wanted you can use the mineral foundation on top of your liquid. If you just want a light setting powder than Mineral Veil is perfect!

I find it hard to get all of the product out of the container with the sifter cover. With the old cover, you could remove it to get the rest of the product out. Is there a way to remove the sifter portion of the container?

Yes you can. I used a butter knife to pry the edges up or you could use your nails.

I have used a needle nose pliers to remove the sifter cover. You can grab the cover from the edges or put it in the sifter holes. It sometimes tears the cover a little so it will come out in pieces. It is difficult to do, but not impossible. Good luck and watch out so you don't spill the product in the process!

I have this foundation in Fairly Light, but even in the winter found it a little too pink for my skin. Now that I have a bit of a tan, I'd like to buy another foundation but don't know which color would be best. What color would you recommend?

A:
You can mix in a tiny bit of an All Over Face color to help make the Fairly Light a little darker. Warmth is a great color, but there is also a color called a Touch of Sun. Warmth is darker and the Touch of Sun is more subtle. In the winter, you can mix in some of the Light foundation to make it work for you. The great thing about mixing is that it makes your regular foundation last longer. Good luck!

Hi there, i have always used the medium beige shade as was recommended to me by the beautician selling your products a few years ago. Only I have noticed this winter it seems too dark with a slightly orange tint. Which shade is the best one to be one step lighter? I noticed the others have pink undertones but the one i have been using is neutral, would medium be ok in this case?

Medium is the pinkest color of all. if you want to stay neutral go with Fairly Light, and mix them.

I use medium beige in the summer when I have a tan and then fairly light in the winter when I am pale. They both have the same undertones, so they match my skin.

Use warmth or even faux tan as a contour :) just follow the outside of your face in a 3, so start on the forehead ( by your hairline) then sweep down to your cheek bone. Go from the top part of your ear inwards toward your nose, this is your natural cheek bone. then sweep from the hair line towards the jaw. this product will give you a natural contour so it doesn't look too over done and blends in with the foundation. If you want more dramatic just use more of the warmth or faux tan. You can also use a bronzer to make it more dramatic.
