Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner - null
Nearly all of my makeup and skin care products are BE products and I've never written a bad review. I loved the retractable eyeliners that have been replaced by a poor excuse of a BE product. It's much thicker so it has to be sharpened too often; I'm convinced more of the actual liner ends up as shavings in the trash than actually lines my eyes. The tip breaks and smudges constantly because it is so soft. My daughter managed to stain our sink with the smudgy shavings this morning--that is how messy it is! Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in BE for considering this product to be acceptable and wish they still sold the retractable eyeliner that we loved so much. I hold BE to a higher standard than this and I expect to apply an eyeliner quickly and easily without the risk of having smudged fingers and a stained sink counter. This eyeliner is currently in the trash and I will not purchase another BE eyeliner unless it is drastically different from the current liners.
Could be better
When I got this liner I expected it to be similiar to the one they had previously, but this was not the case. It is a very creamy and smooth formula and it does go on very nicely, BUT, it goes on way too thick and I can't get it to thin out and it ends up looking like I applied it really heavy. It would be good if I was going out at night but I am using it on a daily basis for work, and it's really too much for the day time.
Round the clock . . .
This eye liner is a bit different then the older versions of eye liners from BM. This one is softer and more creamy. It does stay on around the clock, which I love! Apply in the morning and it is there all day until I decide to take it off.
I recently purchased one of the new Round the Clock eyeliners in Noon and was surprised to find myself very disappointed in the product. I buy almost all of my makeup exclusively from Bare Minerals and have been nothing but happy with the products. I learned that Bare Minerals discontinued the Big and Bright eyeliner line and had replaced it when I went to buy a refill. I was hesitant to buy the product but thought I'd give it a try. I found the Round the Clock difficult to apply, it creates a very thick line. It also seemed to get stuck in my eyelashes. Since it does not have a self sharpener, I found myself needing to resharpen after only a couple uses. Like other reviews on here, it was difficult to sharpen and a lot of the product was wasted. This product is unlikely to last very long. The plus side of the product is that the color is nice and it is most definitely water and smudge proof. If this product was in the self sharpening applicator, I would give it a 5 and would buy it in a second.
I went in to buy my usual eyeliner the mechanical pencil in chocolate and was told that it was replaced by these new Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliners. So I bought the 9PM.
I do love the way it glides on and that it doesn't smudge like the previous ones but I am not able to sharpen it to where I can get a point or even keep it sharpened for more than one days application. I have had it for one week now and have used more than half of it because of sharpening issues. I am very disappointed that the old product was replaced. Bare minerals is the only eye liner I have been able to wear due to allergies and now I don't know what I am going to do. Please work on improving this product or bring back the old quickly!!!!
Dries out quickly
I got a few of these in kits around the holidays. All three have dried out and WILL NOT apply. I bought a sharpener and it just obliterates the tip. The only advantage to the sharpener is that the whole stick of eyeliner came out and I put it back in upside down and that end was not dried out..but it was flat so I had a huge line...awful. Hope BE brings back the Big & Bright liners or fixes this one. I only gave it one star because none was not an option.
A few months ago, I purchsed two Bare Minerals Round the Clock Eyeliners. One shade called Noon, deep navy, the other called 10pm,brownish/black. The problem concerns the Noon eyeliner. It dried up in the pencil after a short time. At first I thought it was because the tip was dry and needed to be sharpened, so I tried to sharpen the rounded point off, only to remove more and more of the pencil itself. Rather than waste the entire pencil , I went to Ulta stores to purchase a Bare Minerals Eye liner sharpener. I was told that Bare Minerals does not make an eyeliner pencil sharpener, I was advised to buy a different sharperner. No difference. The eyeliner is dried up in the pencil. As I sharpen, the tips breaks off each time. It wasted half the $15 pencil. It is dry and does not apply with ease at all. I know this for sure because I haven't had the same problem with the other eyeliner I bought at the same time. This one is obviously defective. This problem did not happen for2 months after I had the liner, so I can not return it to QVC. If it were possible, I'd pay shipping charges which i will not do. Not worth it. No matter, these pencils so not have a sharp tip when sharpened, and the tip on my other good one bends and gets rounded so much that I can't even get a nice smooth clean line across the top of my eyelids. All in all not happy with the formula used for these pencils. Too much money to spend for these results. Maybe I just had a defective liner, but it didn't seem so in the beginning, but the points on these liners wear down quickly, just after two uses need to be sharpened again which wastes valuable pencil.
Not completely happy
I bought this at the store, and was a little upset to find it was a new liner - one that required a sharpener. I had gotten used to the old liners and thought they were great. The liner glides on nicely, but I have to sharpen it every day or else it goes on too thick. It breaks very easily, and the color was a little more blue than I thought it was. I going for the greyish brownish like granite liner. I really loved the old eyeliners and wish they were still available.
I purchased this product because the description said "waterproof". When it arrived, I immediately put it on and the tip broke. The product is extremely soft and no where did I read that a sharpener was required. The last BE eyeliner pencil I bought had a twist bottom. I tried sharpening the tip with a previous sharpener I had but the product is so soft that it didn't work. I feel like I just wasted my money.
Best liner ever!!
I have never been able to get liner on my waterline until now. I have fought with several different kinds of liners and threw them all away. Other liners tended to pull at my eyes or would just flat out not "write" on them at all...even trying to go old school and melting the tips didn't help... Then I found this. It glides on so smooth and effortlessly no tugging or pulling, just smooth and silky. It stays put all day, my eyes can water or cry all they want but my liner is staying put! Even on my waterline.
