READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
So Glad I Found My Holy Grail
I went shopping with my daughter at an outlet mall with plans to go to a regular mall and hit the BE boutique. I looked up and there was a Bareescentuals! Years ago I had tried the regular powder but was never able to get the right match. With the addition of three different foundations and/or colors I thought I'd give it another try. I've used liquid foundations for years, but at 59 my makeup needs have changed. I wanted buildable coverage that was quick and easy so thought I'd try the new serum foundation. The rep had me try the Ready and I was hooked. Color was perfect, coverage was perfect and the Precision brush was perfect. When I got home I played some more - one side of my face light coverage, the other side medium. Easy to do and even the medium gave me a natural even glow. I then went on to full coverage and while you could tell I had makeup on it was an even finish that did not look overdone. My super dry skin did not look cakey and had a lovely satiny-matte finish before I even put on blush or highlighter. Love this product. I'm back to BE!
Great long lasting coverage
. I am 21 and have been wearing Bare minerals for 5 years now. Anytime something new is out I am always excited to try it. This foundation is the best at long lasting full coverage. BUT!! It tends to make my smile lines stand out even with the primer. I have also tried the Porefessional under this makeup (for my smile lines) and it still seems to make them stand out. Other than that this makeup is great!!
I have been a loyal BM shopper since it started on QVC only. I liked the loose foundation but being a natural accident prone/mess making person it was always getting spilled and wasted. I was so excited when this first came out and have been using ever since. Using the brush made for it is important. If you use the old loose foundation brush with the solid foundation it goes on very thick and cakey. I have greasy skin/acne prone and this product does not aggravate it at all. I have also tried the new liquid foundation and have come back to the solid.
Not worth your money.....
I recently visited my dermatologist, who subjected me to a twenty minute rant about how basically all drugstore and most high-end makeup is terrible for the skin. He then gave me a "list" of products I could use ( the only things on the list were Bare MInerals and Almay). Therefore, I immediately went to my local makeup store to purchase a Bare Minerals foundation. First of all, no bare mineral foundation actually serves more than one function (i.e. one mattified, but had no coverage, while another had coverage but was terrible for oily skin). I finally decided on this foundation, because, as a worker told me,"well, it doesn't add any extra oil to the skin, and it has medium coverage". When I put it on, it was cakey, powdery, and completely unnatural looking. It settled into my pores, even though I had used Bare Mineral's oil and pore eliminating primer (another failure), leaving me with a polka-dotted yellowish face. Unfortunately, this is one of my only options for foundation, so I have to get used to it :(
I'm loving this more and more. I wasn't so sure at first because I was using too much product. All it takes is one tap and then long swipes across my face with the precision face brush. I do one layer like that, repeating the one tap at a time until my face is covered, then I go back with the regular face brush and add a little just to the spots that need it. I have very fair skin and Medium R210 is perfect for me. (I'm 53 with sensitive, dryish skin.) I'm so happy I gave this a try!
Great for Touch Ups!
I bought this product hoping to have my favorite foundation more readily available to me at work, since I work anywhere from 8 to 10 hour shifts. And it is a high-pace environment, so sweat happens. The product is small enough to fit in my small hand-purse (it is literally a hand-purse), and it works great for the touch ups I need to do. I bought BM travel-size face brush, and I use it with the READY foundation. However, the only complaint is I feel like a lose a lot of product due to the nature of the brush. I wish I had a better applicator for READY foundation. Other than that though, the coverage is great and portable for sure!
Pls don't ever discontinue or change this product!
Let me first start by saying that I hope the READY Foundation never gets discontinued or changed. This is a quality product that has changed my view of foundation.
~THE FEEL OF THIS PRODUCT..... When I apply this foundation it feels like I have nothing on my face. I often times forget I'm wearing it because it feels like my natural skin. This is something I love as I am not a big foundation wearer. My husband always tells me he likes me without foundation but when I wear READY bare minerals foundation he told me he likes it equally as well as my bare face look... That makes me happy.. :)
~MY SKINS RESPONSE TO THIS FOUNDATION..... I have dry, sensitive skin that likes to crack and get dry blotches when I wear any foundation. It also is very prone to breakouts and bumps when I use foundation. I have tried countless foundations and I've always been bitterly disappointed with my skins response to them... I.e. breakouts and dry cracked skin... I have been using bare minerals READY foundation for about a month now and I can wholeheartedly and honestly say my skin has actually IMPROVED since wearing it. I have the clearest skin that I've had in years and my skin has a subtle glow that I am loving. So if I decide not the wear foundation on some days I'm proud to show my healthy skin
~APPLICATION AND PACKAGING..... Applying this product is simple in my opinion. I use a sigma f80 flat top kabuki brush... As long as you have a dense flat top brush you can get a beautiful finish. Be light handed when dipping into the product. Place brush on product and very lightly push(don't swirl!!!!) then apply to 1section of your face at a time in long soft strokes again not swirling your brush on your face either. Get more product in same manner as previously stated. Do this in layers until you build up to the coverage you desire. It's quick and surprisingly easy. Blends beautifully and only takes a few minutes. Packaging is beautiful and sleek. Easy to carry and non-messy.
~OVERALL SUMMARY... Great product. I will continue to purchase as long as they don't discontinue it or change it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Definitely get color matched as the colors aren't the same as their other foundations. My holy grail foundation because it doesn't cause me ANY breakouts, looks airbrushed and flawless, light and natural felling, gives me a little boost of confidence, and actually improves my natural skin.
Hope this is helpful!!:)
I love this stuff!
I am tempted to buy this stuff in bulk because Im so scared they'll discontinue it! I love love love my Ready makeup! I've used the original Bare Minerals before, but I gave up on it because it got messy and the amount I'd see on the counter made me think half of it was going down the drain, even though the coverage was flawless!
Fast forward 2-3 years later. After using acne-assisting liquid makeup and still suffering from breakouts and even getting really expensive specialty makeup for acne that exacerbated the problem worse than over the counter stuff (not to mention no matter what shade I picked you could always tell I was wearing makeup!), I decided to try one last investment.
I chose Ready makeup because it promised full coverage with ease of application, and that it is! You just do that little easy tap-tap and voila! Beautiful coverage, no make-up lines! And I literally don't have to wash my face before bed (in case I forget or I'm so exhausted I can't pry myself out of bed) and I wake up and my sensitive face has no blemishes and no yuck makeup transfer everywhere!
AND! It's so much less messy than liquid foundation! You don't get your hands all gunky as you start your day!
I will say that I like to think I'm fair skinned, but the light neutral version (R170), while blending in flawlessly, looks a little too light for my skin per my husband, even though I tried my best to shade match via the Internet. I ordered the medium neutral version last night (r250) so I'll try that out. If worse comes to worse, I can always blend. But I'm content with what I have and a bronzer so we'll see!
The precision face brush is a must have with this product. It's expensive, but an investment (you'll never have to buy it again)! And the videos that show you how to use this product are short and informational. Very helpful!
I'm SO excited. Im spending about twice as much as I was on drug store brands (and actually less than department store brands),but the pay off has been such a blessing. Worth every penny. Because I can't tell you how much I've spent on different foundations, acne cleansers, etc just to not use them.
This product works GREAT over a normal moisturizer after dried. If you like eye shadow, it does not show up as well as it does on a liquid base (which is like its own primer), so a good idea would be to get the eyeshadow primer.
Amazing, skin-nurturing, easily portable, non-messy beauty! Ohhhh I love this stuff!
GREAT JOB BARE MINERALS! You're worth ALL the hype! Please don't stop making my makeup!
I have been using BM original loose formula for 10 years now but I feel like I need more coverage and was tired of the messy powder.. I tried the new bareskin liquid and it was a fail , to greasy and light coverage, I felt like it never set :(
I wear shade med-biege in the loose BM , I ordered" Med-tan R3310" and it was an okay color match, to light--- but I really liked the coverage with pressed powder!! It really covered any red areas and the hyper-pigmentation !!I don't need to wear concealer!! I can work out and sweat and my make up is still on! The compact lasted only 5 weeks-- bummer because it so expensive!
Next time around I ordered a shade darker " Golden Tan R330" and it a perfect match!! YAY!!!
I really love the pressed powder it just cost more and I run out faster versus BM powder..
expected a lot more from BE
I guess first of all I cannot understand why the shades of Ready don't match the she shades of the original foundation. Makes it impossible to purchase online, and not everyone is fortunate enough to live near a boutique to be color matched. Regardless, I have found the Ready to be very cakey. It is difficult to apply a light layer, so by the time I'm done my face looks heavy and thick with make. What I've always liked about BE is the natural look, but this in now way provides that. Very disappointed. Plus based on online comments and suggestions, not only do you end up with an expensive product that does not work, but you get fooled into thinking it will work if use the right brush, so there's another chunk of change spent without any better result. I hope BE will take all of reviews into consideration and really work on improving this product. The tap swirl and buff technique is so cumbersome. Having a Ready foundation would be so convenient, if only it worked.
I've been struggling for the past year or so, trying to find foundation that matches my skin well, and also has a near flawless finish. I tried other brands, then the mineral powder, then finally I tried this just on a whim. The coverage is just amazing, you cant see any of my freckles through it, the finish is very smooth, almost air brush like. I absolutely love it. It also feels very light and it lasts all day. You may need to blot in the middle of the day but without any additional powder. If you're thinking about trying this you HAVE to do it. I cant imagine anyone will be disappointed.
Full coverage + shade difference
I started using Bare Minerals foundation in 2004. I loved it. However, when I started getting more redness in my face, along with some occasional mild acne, I switched back to liquid foundation for fuller coverage (and it was faster to 'fix' my redness/acne with a liquid). Now, after 3 years of liquid foundations, I had to stop because of some new skin problems. I just purchased the READY foundation in Golden Medium, since that is the shade I used for BM Matte. The coverage is really amazing. However, the Golden Medium was way too light on my skin. I had to exchange it for Golden Tan (which looks A LOT darker in the compact, but goes on lighter). I would recommend getting the shade one darker than you would normally use at Bare Minerals. I'm really impressed with this full coverage, velvety foundation!
I absolutely love this foundation... it gives perfect coverage that I need everyday. It also feels light and airy. However, towards the end my compacts always break as in the makeup inside shatters and is no longer usable. Recently, I bought a new compact and the makeup shattered inside and the entire new compact was unusable. Its frustrating because you spend so much money and not all of it can be used.
I cannot say enough about this product and how it helped me through a bad acne breakout. You cannot put it on heavy or you'll look ridiculous. I used their concealer for the acne leas ions. Also warmth, and a blush. They helped to take the emphasis off the acne. The girl at the BM store was more than nice when she did this mini makeover! I now only use the original foundation and Ready on special occasions because I find it to be more moisturizing than the original and I want my face to be as clear as possible. The concealer I don't think clogged my pores but I watch these products as an acne sufferer. I usually walk around with no makeup for the lesions to heal.
What's with the color change?!?
I started using/switched to the Ready foundation formula about a yr ago (switched from the traditional loose mineral formula, which I had used for yrs). Found its coverage to be comparable and really liked that it was less messy & more user friendly in my purse or with travel. I always wore the "medium" in the loose mineral, but found the "medium beige" in the Ready to be a closer match to the "medium" in the loose, which I had always loved. Fast forward to now, I was out of my Ready Med Bg. Due to convenience, I usually order online b/c the closest store to me is several miles away. However, this time I happened to be in that neck of the woods, so I went by the BE store and purchased another Ready in Med. Bg., which I had been using for over 6 mos & was very happy with. Got the new replacement home, and it looked yellow on my skin versus the usual slightly pink to neutral undertones. I visually compared it to the old Med Bg in natural lighting & there is DEFINITELY a difference!! Thinking the store clerk may have accidentally picked up the wrong color or misunderstood my request (she got the product for me, I did not remove from store shelf myself), I compared the numbers on the back of the compact. They WERE different!! Old Med Bg was N20, but the store clerk gave me one that said R250. So I was convinced she sold me he wrong one & was going to try & return it. HOWEVER... I just now looked online to order another Med Bg and OMG, it is now indeed R250!! (WTHeck?!?) The store clerk did NOT make an error; BE has apparently CHANGED the color. I have no dang idea which color NOW translates into the old Med Bg. I have been a loyal customer for years, and did not see any communication via website or otherwise that they were changing up the colors. This stuff is not exactly cheap either!!! What is the deal?!? I would have ordinarily given this product a 4-5 star rating, but given the schizo color change that makes me look jaundiced, it now has only 2 stars. I am sooo disappointed. Would have continued to buy this product for many, many more yrs, but not now. :(
Runs lighter in color
I love the Bare Mineral formula and how it feels on my skin. It's weightless and doesn't cause my skin to react. I love the pressed powder, it goes on smooth, has a light matte finish and doesn't move throughout the day. Many products make my skin react. Between clogged pores, redness, and rashes I've learned that this brand works well for me.
I've tried every foundation they make and love each one for different reasons. I go back and forth between liking the pressed and loose powders but I think I do like the pressed better. I feel like I get more out of it and can use less to get the same amount of coverage as the loose powder.
My one complaint is that it does run about a shade lighter in the same color as the original and matte formulas.
On the go necessity
The is a must have compact in your make up bag. Great for touch ups while on the go. Affordable and lasts long. Works great with the mini kabuki brush.
Love the look, not the time
What caused me to try this was how long each container lasts. I used Clinique due to skin issues, and love it, but every 30 days I need a new compact. Bare Escentuals costs the same, but lasts for months. I've been using Bare Escentuals for a little over a year now with a couple of breaks from it. I started with the loose powder and loved the way it looked, but it was messy, time-consuming, and took up too much space in my bag so I went back to the other stuff. Once I found out about the compact powder foundation, I just HAD to give it another try. I aboslutely love the way it looks, I never have to do any touch-ups (except when my allergies are bad and need to use a lot of tissue), my skin looks so smooth, and it holds up in the heat when I'm outside a lot.
My only complaint is how long it takes to put on. I like to just slap on the necessities and go, like I could with my old powder foundation. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with stuff and will continue buying it!
Great new foundation!
I have been a faithful Bare Minerals fan for many years using the Original and the Matte powder foundations, but this new foundation blew me away! I have gotten compliments from TOTAL STRANGERS in the street, my friends ask me why I look so good, even my dad noticed my skin looked pretty. It is totally awesome!
I got the new precision brush and it is amazing as well, soft to the touch, makes me wanna put my foundation on, and best of all, gives me full coverage and bright, fresh-looking skin. I have oily skin and it is still matte at the end of the day, no shine at all which is nice. However, I feel it hydrates my skin as well and it is definitely not drying.
A little goes and looooong way! And it has soooo much staying power it's ridiculous. Mid-afternoon/early evening I look at my skin and the foundation is still going strong... No need for touch-ups.
You need to get shade matched for sure! It will make all the difference. I dare anyone to use this foundation and not like it! It's pretty much impossible!
I LOVE my READY foundation. It is just PERFECT. It covers redness on my cheeks and I can build up my coverage and still look natural. It is LONG lasting, it never settled into any lines on my face and makes me look more polished. My skin is oily and the foundation still lasts very very long. No need to touch up throughout the day, I just use oil absorbing sheets and it looks like I just put on makeup. It is also so comfortable to the skin and lies so beautifully on it. I just can't say anything negative about it, it really is my perfect foundation.
Perfcect for my skin- I LOVE this!
I bought the compact this time around to try it out- I have 2 small kids so the quickest makeup routine I can get is the best for me! I am so impressed with the coverage and overall quality of the compact foundation! I normally do the loose powder which I have always liked but this is just AWESOME! I have oily areas on my face and some scarring, this product covers everything and I have had it on for 4 hours now and my face isn't even a bit oily- by now I've wiped off a lot of the loose powder from blotting oil. If you want quick and easy coverage, this is the way to go!
My Holy Grail--Once I found the right shade
I was wearing the Matte, but it didn't provided enough coverage for my rosacea. The Original is too luminous for me, so I decided to try the Ready. I originally chose the wrong shade and had a bad experience. The foundation looked like it was sitting on my face instead of blending in. So I ended up going to a BE Boutique and got shade matched properly---and I am in love!! It lasts all day, doesn't get oily, and the coverage is easy to control. My only suggestions are to (1) pay attention to the undertones (cool, neutral, golden) because that definitely makes a difference in the success of your shade match, (2) find a brush that works for you. The precision face brush (the angled-top kabuki) gave me too much coverage, but when I use the flawless face brush it's perfect (3) once you tap your brush into the foundation, swirl it in an empty lid from the loose foundation to make sure the Ready gets evenly distributed throughout the bristles. Once I started doing that, I got perfect, even coverage every time.
READY FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 20
I love this foundation. I was matched up for the correct shade and purchased the precision brush. I tap and blend. It gives me a flawless look and last all day.
What a great foundation. I took the "which foundation is right for you" test and it said Ready. I had been using the Bare Minerals loose foundation for years and was leery of changing so I called in and spoke with a terrific representative. I decided to go for it and try the Ready and i am so glad I did. I got an email saying when it would arrive. As it was coming Fedex and they come in the am I just washed and moisturized that morning (yesterday) and waited for the truck. When it came I ran to the bathroom and put it on (I watched videos on how to put it on correctly) with the Precision Brush. Wow is all I can say and of course I love it!!!! I did it with the concealer and theLuminizer Duo. If I say so myself I looked good. I also got a compliment from a total stranger later in the afternoon about what nice skin I have. I go for a natural no make up look so I was floored. When I went to bed last night I wanted to go put it on again! Thank you BM this is a terrific product for us 50 somethings that need some extra help. I have circles, and fine lines around my eyes and on my cheeks as well as some of what I call bracketing from my nose to my chin. This doesn't eliminate all that but softens it and makes me look healthy, natural and younger.
I went to a Bare Minerals store on a whim, and was color matched for the Ready Foundation in Medium Tan, I'm between fair and medium and thought this would be too dark, it wasn't really...it is amazing how much lighter is goes on. I have some rosacea , and after seeing the video with Shelby, and with going to Ulta and buying some Original Bare Minerals powder I learned to go with the neutral for covering rosacea. I now use the Medium Beige in Ready. I love it, I learned to REALLY, REALLY go easy. I was getting it in my lines a little at first too ( like I've seen some comments) I decided one day to just tap ,and brush it on one whole side of my face, and another tap for the other side, It really is enough, and no bisque concealer is needed on my cheeks anymore!!
So in love!!!
I'm a little late to the game but I finally tried the ready foundation after being a fan of the loose powder foundation for years. I got the precision face brush to use with it and couldn't be happier. I was always disappointed after a twelve hour work day with how my powder foundation looked. Apparently I have more combination skin than I thought. So, I got the oil control foundation primer and the ready foundation and tried them together. I couldn't be happier!!!! I noticed about half way though the day my skin felt a little cakey (don't think that's really a word) but my complexion still looked flawless and not oily at all. I actually worked about sixteen hours that day and my makeup stayed strong the whole time. So now I'll be using both depending on how long I plan to be wearing my makeup. I can't wait to be able to try the new bareskin foundation as well!
P.S. I was a shade darker than in the loose powder. Keep that in mind if you can only order off the internet. I would definitely recommend going into the store to try and/or see the product before buying.
This Foundation is amazing!
I bought this foundation a few days ago and ever since I have been using it, it has brought nothing but good coverage to my acne scars and my acne.
You would think just because it is a powder it wouldn't be as much coverage as it brought but it really is an amazing product.
Not as good at the Matte Foundation
I tried this out because I love the Bare Minerals Foundation. I did not like this as well as the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation. The Bare Minerals Matte Foundation looks much better on my skin. I did use some of the foundation but, I went back to the Matte Foundation.
Worst Foundation I've ever tried.
I'm a woman of color, (NW45 in mac) and Warm dark in the original formula, and this is by far the worst foundation I've ever tried. Extremely cakey and dry looking. I tried 3 different shades, and could not find a color to match me, meanwhile I match several shades in the loose powder formula. Huge disappointment.
I really wanted to like this foundation. I got a perfect color match using fairy light, and it looked amazing when I first applied it. You have to be very careful with this foundation to not over apply, or it will look really cakey as the day goes on. Even with applying a light layer using the flawless application brush, by the end of the day the texture didn't look as good in a few places on my face. The main reason for the rating I gave is that shortly after putting it on my face is so itchy. I have never had that problem with foundations before.
