READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
Not The Best.
It doesn't work very well with dehydrated or dry skin. It also doesn't work very well with my moisturizer. After applying, I had the "cakey" problem. I prefer the bareskin and original foundation.
I discovered this powder almost a year ago when I went to Sephora with the intention of buying a fundation from their own line. My skin is kind of pale and it was specially difficult for me to get a good light fundation that could match perfectly to my skinshade but, when the girl from the store told me about this foundation, I saw the result in my skin and I fell in love inmediately! It feels like if you were not wearing nothing at all, the result is amazing, very natural and it's perfect for everyday use... but it's important to find the color that matches your skin and this is another thing I really liked from this brand: they have a great variety of shades for their products so you only have to ask the proffesional of the store to find the right one for you.
If you are looking for weightless, and flawless finish - here's your product!
I love this product! I tried to use bare essentials in the early 2000's, and I bought multiple shades and tried to mix them numerous times to get the right shade and coverage and never found it. I was disappointed.
I tried this and never looked back! I was in a Sephora and couldn't believe the number of shades! I had one of their consultants take one look at my skin, pulled the shade and it matched! I bought the precision brush too. I just couldn't be happier and it's so NOT time consuming! (I'm flashing back to liquid foundation and heavy powders! The time it took to apply it just right and match the colors, blah, blah, blah! LOL) This is easy peasy and beautiful !
Second times a charm!
I was skeptical to try this again. My first experience was not good. But after getting shade matched, correctly, I'm loving this foundation! I have this in shade golden tan and I usually wear golden medium. The golden tan is a perfect match! It looked a little too dark, but once blended in, it is perfect! Plus my skin looks so smooth! I only gave it four stars because it doesn't seem to stay on as long as the original or matte in my t-zone, but it's not like its gone in a couple hours either. Over all, this product has become a quick favorite and I'm so glad I gave it another try. Definitely get shade matched if you didn't have a good first impression.
Great product but can't get a color match!
I love the simplicity of this product - just a few swipes and I'm done! I've been in the boutique at least three times to get color matched and sadly, I just am not happy with any color! I don't have this problem with any other BM foundation. The first time I bought Medium Tan (gosh, don't know what they call it now - so confusing with all the letters/numbers they assign to the products) and it matched fine. The next time I bought it, the color was too dark. I've tried Med Beige (too light) and Golden Beige (too yellow). Frustrating because the lighting in the store is so dim (goodness, you REALLY need to fix that in the Greenville, SC location!) and when you get home it's all UGH. Did you change the color formulations? All I know is I'd love to use it, but I can't. It would be so helpful if you keep the color names the same over the different foundation lines too!
I don't know what i would do without this product! Amazing coverage and looks natural and not like its caked on. I would highly recommend this. I found my perfect shade when i visited the store, so thankful!
Very happy with this product
This is the third Bare Minerals foundation formulation that I have tried. I started with the original powder, which I liked, but it can be messy and it's bulky to travel with. I then tried the liquid which I didn't like quite so well. Even though I'm middle-aged, I still have an oily T-zone and just felt like the liquid melted off me. READY is just right.
I really like this foundation. It goes on smoothly and stays on all day without the need for touch ups. The only thing I don't like is that after using this product for a while it begins to get a shiny, hardened formation at the top and it makes it very hard to get product on the brush. I have to scrape the hardened portions out of the product in order to continue using the compact but I lose a lot of product that way and that is rather disappointing. I am now just starting my third compact and will see if this happens again. If it does I may want to consider another type of Bare Minerals foundation.
This foundation is so nice. I think it's way easier to apply than the loose powders. It doesn't take long to get the coverage that I need, just a few swipes and I'm done. You don't even really need the precision face brush for this, I wanted to order a new brush and when I was looking into ordering that one they were out of stock so, being impatient, I ordered the new beautiful finish brush and it works great with it. Only reason that I'm giving this a 4 rating is because you have to use a primer or setting powder or both to make it last all day. Without those I can get maybe 5-6 hours without a touch up.
Very, very happy!!
I actually am surprised that I really like this product. I tried it in the past with no success. I have retried it now using a new skin care line, Clinique, under it. I've been using it for 4 days now and I cannot believe how easily it covers my skin and redness that I have. I use the brush that goes with it, I forget what its called but its angled. I also use the ready touch up veil in medium under it and over it in the morning.
Before using this I used the bareMinerals original foundation for years. However, that really only is an 8 hour wear, and it took me much longer to get it to cover what I needed it too.
This has actually made getting ready in the morning much faster! And my skin looks a lot smoother and much more natural!
Also, with this and the touch up veil (no primer) I do not have to touch up during the day, which has not happened in like 10 years!
I use this in R210, medium. The color matches great! Previously I had to mix original colors light and fairly medium, so I never knew what I was going to get when applying.
This foundation with the touch up veil in ready has turned into my HG!
I cannot believe how good my skin looks with this fantastic compact powder foundation! I am 61 years old and have a dryer skin and I love a medium to full coverage so I use the precision face brush with it. My skin just glows with this make up and it doesn't seem to settle into my fine lines. I love that it has an SPF 20 in it as well. Take note that you will have to go for a darker shade because I have a light to medium complexion with pink undertones and the best color for me is (R310) for medium to tan skin. Don't be afraid to go darker because this make up is so easy to blend and is seamless!
I just happend to walk by the bare minerals section at the mall and tried it instantly fell in love!! I've been trying it out for about 4 weeks now. Amazing coverage, light on the face, it's wonderful for oily skin it lasts me all day. So far it's the best foundation I have used!!
I really wanted to try a pressed powder foundation and this just wasn't it. I like the matte loose powder 1000x better. this just made me appear like a really weird shade. I got the deepest dark I believe though i was a golden dark in the matte. sigh
I really love this foundation. It gives me just the right amount of coverage without being too heavy. I previously used MAC's studio fix and found myself liking Ready more. It doesn't feel cakey the way MAC's did.
I've read other reviews of this product, and it's strange how everyone's skin reacts differently to certain products. I have a very oily t-zone and didn't find this to be too heavy nor prone to breakouts. If anything, I've been seeing less since my products transition.
My recommendation is just to try it and see if it's for you. If not, you can either exchange or return it, ya know?
Eh, not the best
I had really high hopes for this product and I really wanted to like it. I got it as a less messy alternative to the original foundation. Additionally, my skin was feeling really dry so the hydrating benefits were also appealing. Unfortunately, this foundation was really disappointing. It settles into the fine lines of my face and I get really oily in my T-zone using it. When my T-zone gets oily this foundation instantly breaks down and looks horrible. I get maybe an hour or 2 of good wear out of it. Mind you, I have combination-oily skin in the summer, I am far from an oil slick, and this product made me look like a grease ball.
I have been using Bare Minerals for over 14 years now and have always loved it. When they first came out with the Ready Foundation I bought it and was very happy with the product. However, when I ran out and went to buy a new Ready Foundation the product had been changed. I tried two different compacts and had the same result: could not load the brush...are you kidding me? Why would you change a good product and produce something so inferior? In order to use makeup you actually have to be able to get it on your face. I'm so disappointed in the Ready Foundation.
light medium ready foundation
I love this product because it has great coverage as well as it is easy to use and lasts long. However, I have been using it for 2 months now and I began to notice that it's making my skin oily. I may have to switch to the loose powder.
It's not a terrible foundation. Very easy to use once you know the proper technique. But it's not something that I would repurchase. In fact I returned it to the BM Boutique b/c I didn't like the way it felt. It felt like I had a mask on my face. It felt like my skin couldn't breathe. What I like about BE is that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup. This felt like I was wearing makeup. I did use the proper technique, which I learned from the online video posted on BE.com.
I also feel like the coverage isn't that great. I need a foundation that will do some of the leg work for covering problematic spots. It's good for non problematic skin (like my cheeks, jaw, and nose which is clear of any acne or spots), but for the places that aren't nice and clear (like my chin & forehead where I have dark hyper-pigmentation spots from acne scarring) it doesn't do a thing. I purchased the Warm Dark (R470) if that helps give anyone a clue towards my coloring (I would say I'm around Kerry Washington or Taraji P Henson's complexion with a warm undertone). I end up going between the Tan & Dark color range depending on the foundation (in Bareskin I use Bare Almond 16, in Matte & Original I use Golden Tan).
I switched it out for the Bareskin Foundation in Bare Almond 16 & the Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Amber 10 (this one is exclusive to Sephora). The two of these together really nicely for me.
Hopefully this helped someone.
Medium tan ready foundation
I have owned bare minerals for years and when the ready foundation became popular. the last 3 medium tan ready foundations I have purchased are not good. At first when the shiny looking hardened formation formed on the top and the color was not going onto the brush I made a formal complaint to the place I bought it from. I considered a fluke and bought a second one. At this time I also bought a new foundation brush and thought maybe that would help. Again it happened. I purchased yet a 3rd try and it also does this. I own other shades and they do not do this. I love the medium tan for summer but am extremely angry about what happens to it. I literally had to chip it and use it when I loosened it up. One of the places I purchased it from said that they changed the stuff they make it with. Then why did the other shades not do this????
I have tried two different shades R250 first which was to light and looked very yellow then ordered R310 and also looks very yellow. The coverage is GREAT however just can't find the right shade I have wasted my $$. Sure wish the company would sell a small sample kit to try the shades. I have to order online and not able to go directly to a store.
I love the Ready foundation. I use the Flawless Application face brush and hardly have to use any. It covers any redness without looking like I have any makeup on at all. It took a few tries to get color-matched correctly, but I finally found the perfect color (Medium).
Love this product.
I have been using Bare Escentuals for about 10 years. I always used the loose powder foundation and loved it until I tried the pressed powder foundation. It has great coverage. I always had problems with other makeups breaking me out. Not with this even if I fail to take it off at night. Plus, this is a lot less messy than the loose powder. Totally love it!
Love this foundation
Wonderful easy to apply foundation. Great build able coverage. Not cakey or creasing. Feels light on my sensitive skin. Looks like I'm not wearing foundation which I love. And for a powder foundation not drying at all and doesn't accentuate fine lines and pores. Love this!
Works great, covers nicely. Gets kind of smeary in the summer when I sweat, creates lines. Do NOT drop the compact--it will shatter open and the powder will explode all over the floor.
I was a makeup artist and I loved the loose powder for years but it did not cover my port wine stain birthmark which covers my entire jawline and chin. This does it and evens out my skin tone quickly and flawlessly. Great for photography work and business videos. Application is key to using the right amount as is prepping your skin-- cleaned, moisturized and primed. Lasts all day. I use a flat brush. Get your color match - err on the side of darker than what you see in the compact. It works so well I always add bronzer to contour and color. I'm 46 and have dry skin with light acne breakouts. This foundation hides it all :)
I've tried many other foundation powders but keep coming back to Ready. It's the perfect coverage for day or night. Amazing!
My name is Alfanette, I am 52 years old and I have used MAC for over 12 years. But I recently found that MAC has many chemicals. I searched for months for a new line I can use for my skin. Bare MInerals is AMAZING. It feels light, the coverage is great and no chemicals. WIN-WIN. I will be a Bare MInerals partner for years to come. A very Happy customer.
I started using bare minerals in January. I went into the store because I'm not a girly girl I never wore make up but here lately I've wanted to be more girly I tried a few liquid foundations but I wasn't happy I have acne scars and although this doesn't completely cover them I am very pleased with the coverage I feel 100% more confident than I ever have!
love this product.
I used bare minerals 10 years ago and left. (Not sure why). But I am obsessed with all bare minerals. It is all I use. Anyway this is my holy grail everyday foundation and I love it. If you don't have this get it today. Highly recommended.
Best Foundation Ever!
I've never met a foundation that 100% pleased me until I finally tried Bare Minerals Matte pressed powder foundation.
I have to apply full coverage but even so - it is so lightweight and silky that I forget I'm wearing makeup!
I have a lot of freckles and spots I don't like and this makeup feels sheer, yet it hides most of those flaws.
I honestly can't imagine that I'll ever change foundations again. I was disappointed that I went to Sephora and they didn't have the pressed powder foundation in Medium Cool. I was told Bare Minerals stopped producing them due to low sales - everyone wants the loose powder. Well, actually, that's wrong. I'm not everyone. I much prefer the pressed powder and hope it will remain available!
