Q & A

ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.6 5 163 164
Good feelings have been confirmed I've been using this product religiously for years. I stopped using it for about a week once I got the new Bareskin foundation and was sorely disappointed. I love this stuff even more now than I did before. It's got buildable coverage and it doesn't have an off-putting scent like the liquid foundation. 05/06/2015
Great product This company bends over backwards to make sure you get exactly what you want. This makeup doesn't add any "oil" in it, but has great staying power. It isn't heavy on the skin. So pure & natural. The only thing I would suggest is to have the large container of bare minerals available more often. And an spf is a welcomed bonus. 04/24/2015
Naked Perfection! I absolutely love this foundation! I have always been a liquid foundation girl but I am now a convert. I wasn't happy with the foundation I had been using so I decided to stop in a bareMinerals store and see what all the buzz was about. Well, it's true...this stuff is pretty great. My skin looks smooth and refined yet it doesn't look like I'm wearing anything on my face. I always applied my liquid foundation with a brush but I never achieved the no-makeup-makeup look that I get with this. Love! 04/21/2015
Love it!!! I'm very fair skinned and had triur with makeup being too orange or dark on me. This one is just perfect! 03/29/2015
Great Product!!!! I am a new bare minerals costumer and I was pretty on the fence on whether to buy this product. I have acne prone skin, so i usually didn't wear foundation out the fear of breaking out. This product is amazing. The coverage is great and it doesn't make me break out! It may only be me, but it made my skin clearer! I am not scared to use this product like I was with others. I gave this 4 star though because you have to be cautious with this product. What i mean with this is that if you are a person to touch your face oftenly, the makeup may come off. For example, my face got a little oily throughout the day so when I went to the bathroom I patted my face with a paper towel. I was shocked to see my foundation on the paper! Also, if you have oily skin, DEFINITELY get the matte foundation. Other than that, this is a great product and most definitely recommend it! 03/26/2015
Perfect! I absolutely love this product. It provides the perfect amount of coverage for my skin and gives me a really healthy glow. I really like that I don't have to use a lot. I don't like to loom like I have a bunch of makeup on, and I really enjoy how natural this makes you look. Defiantly my favorite foundation. The trick to getting it to cover more without adding more to you face I just to buff! This product does have a shine quality that I love but I you don't try matte for a more powder finish look. 03/23/2015
Wonderful Foundation! I had used bareescentuals in the past buy didn't apply correctly and decided to stop using. I decided to try it again, and apparently watched the video in more detail. I love this product, the coverage it gives, the easy way it is applied, and how nice it looks. The color I chose is just right for me. I may go to another shade in the summer if necessary. Love it! 03/21/2015
grammie904 I have used Bare Minerals for sixteen years now. Lived in the north and used liquid since my teens. When I moved south, liquid was too heavy. I switched to Bare Mineral products and haven't had any problems. I am now 70 years old and love the way my skin looks and feels. The prices are reasonable. I do wait for promotions though. The shipping is fair. Never had to use customer service online. 03/20/2015
Love it I had to have a friend help me learn how to best apply it, but after that I just loved it. She showed me how to put a little powder in the cap and then apply it to the brush with lots of circular motions in the cap to really get it evenly distributed on the brush for even distribution on the face. 03/15/2015
so sad I wanted to love this makeup - I had just recently gotten my skin super clear after changing my skincare regimen and I wanted to switch over to a makeup that was lighter while still offering adequate coverage. I will start off by saying that I have had pretty oily, problematic skin since about the 7th grade. I switched to this after having been using Tarte loose powder foundation because like I said, I wanted something a bit lighter. At first, I thought that it looked really nice but by the second day of using it, I noticed that I had many small breakouts around my chin and right cheek. As I mentioned earlier, my skin has been VERY clear lately and this product is the only thing that I had used that was different that I could link the recent breakouts to. I also noticed that it made my skin very oily after only an hour or so but that may just be because I have oily skin to begin with. Overall, I am very sad that this product did not work for me, because I have heard great things from other people. 03/13/2015

I have extremely dry skin and put my moisturizer on about 15 to 30 min prior to my foundation. I seem to get cakey spots on my face. I noticed that even with out using moisturizer I get the spots, just not as bad. I thought it was because it's a powder, but I had the same issue when using a liquid foundation from cover girl. That was why I switched to bare minerals. What can I do.
P.S. I ordered your bareskin several days ago in hopes that it would be better for me.

Original has a natural luminous finish that will enhance those with combo/dry or dry skin types. The matte helps to absorb excess oil, and leave a matte finish instead of a luminous one on the skin. The best way for you to decide is to first consider your skin type. Then visit a boutique, Sephora, or Ulta and allow them to put you in the foundation that best suits your skin needs.

I really want to love this and sometimes it looks good but often it looks heavy in places and very shiny esp on my nose. Or at times I see all of the pores on my nose. What am I doing wrong?

There are a number of questions I need to ask you before I can help give you the advice you seek. Of course, the best answer is for you to visit a boutique and have a BM makeup artist work with you to perfect the look you want. Here are the questions I would ask you. 1. What is your skin care routine and are you consistently doing it? 2. What is your skin type and are you using the right products for it? 3. Have you tried the Prime Time primer underneath the foundation? 4. What brushes are you using to create your look?

You're not putting the mineral veil on all over your face or either you don't brush around the foundation evenly

It depends. Do you want additional coverage or just a setting powder? If additional coverage is wanted you can use the mineral foundation on top of your liquid. If you just want a light setting powder than Mineral Veil is perfect!

I find it hard to get all of the product out of the container with the sifter cover. With the old cover, you could remove it to get the rest of the product out. Is there a way to remove the sifter portion of the container?

I have used a needle nose pliers to remove the sifter cover. You can grab the cover from the edges or put it in the sifter holes. It sometimes tears the cover a little so it will come out in pieces. It is difficult to do, but not impossible. Good luck and watch out so you don't spill the product in the process!

I have this foundation in Fairly Light, but even in the winter found it a little too pink for my skin. Now that I have a bit of a tan, I'd like to buy another foundation but don't know which color would be best. What color would you recommend?

A:
You can mix in a tiny bit of an All Over Face color to help make the Fairly Light a little darker. Warmth is a great color, but there is also a color called a Touch of Sun. Warmth is darker and the Touch of Sun is more subtle. In the winter, you can mix in some of the Light foundation to make it work for you. The great thing about mixing is that it makes your regular foundation last longer. Good luck!

Hi there, i have always used the medium beige shade as was recommended to me by the beautician selling your products a few years ago. Only I have noticed this winter it seems too dark with a slightly orange tint. Which shade is the best one to be one step lighter? I noticed the others have pink undertones but the one i have been using is neutral, would medium be ok in this case?

Medium is the pinkest color of all. if you want to stay neutral go with Fairly Light, and mix them.

I use medium beige in the summer when I have a tan and then fairly light in the winter when I am pale. They both have the same undertones, so they match my skin.

Use warmth or even faux tan as a contour :) just follow the outside of your face in a 3, so start on the forehead ( by your hairline) then sweep down to your cheek bone. Go from the top part of your ear inwards toward your nose, this is your natural cheek bone. then sweep from the hair line towards the jaw. this product will give you a natural contour so it doesn't look too over done and blends in with the foundation. If you want more dramatic just use more of the warmth or faux tan. You can also use a bronzer to make it more dramatic.
