High Shine Eyecolor - null
Does exactly what I'd hoped
I'm in my 50's, so a high shine product is not my best look except for the inner eye corner to provide illumination and brightness. I've been using a competitor's product for that purpose with great success, and this works just as well if not better. With the color I chose, which is Ice, you don't see any color per se; it's a neutral frost (although darker skins might actually see the pink cast). I would never use the sponge applicator; it's simply too big and applies too much product, which is why I knocked off a star. I use my own brushes to control the application, and I suggest starting with the tiniest possible amount as this packs quite a wallop in shine. If you're going to use this where you want it to be obviously there (e.g., across your brow bone or lid), I'd use a clean sponge applicator to control the powder and prevent it from getting all over under your eye. I was taught long ago that the really frosty powders apply better with a sponge on the eyes and have found that to be true.
my fiance is SOOOO annoyed with me, because im so addicted to this eyeshadow! i already bought 10! i love the colors, they go beautiful with my brown eyes! my fiance even loves the eyeshadow, and you know its good when a man compliments on makeup... the applicator is annoying, but i just put a little on my lid, and smudge it around my entire lid with my smudge brush and blend blend blend! it doesn't bother me! did i mention how much i love this eyeshadow?! :D
Nice shimmery eyeshadow!
I bought this for my mom for her birthday because she doesn't like to spend as much thorough time applying eyeshadow, and because it was an eyeshadow with wand/swab altogether and good for travel it worked out great. She got the moon...something color? It's a purple one, I just can't remember the name of it now. Moonshine? not sure. But it looks beautiful, and if you want a more intense shadow look this is really quick and easy to get it. The original formula eyeshadows you usually have to wet or keep building for that foiled look or an intense sheen/sparkle. You don't with these! Just a few swipes and youre ready. Just wish they would keep making more colors for this. But I love the original formula too. Overall pretty good product!
Love the color but...
I really love this shadow...however...I hate the applicator! It is way to big and thick and makes for a very messy application so I use one of my smaller applicators that I have had on hand. This applicator is so big it makes it difficult to get it on your eyes plus is makes it messy! It really needs to be made much smaller and thiner. Other wise the shadow is great lasts a long time and you don't need much of it!
Gold medal a winner!
I love (love!) Gold medal. I know the sponge applicator is a pain with other colors, but I find it great with this one because it is so light. I use it as a highlighter for my brown as weil as my inner eye, or just when I don't want to put on a full face to brighten me up.
I got this eye shadow in a kit. I love the high shine, but hated the bottle and sponge applicator. I have a double ended BE brush in which I use the smaller end to stick in the bottle to apply it. I find this much easier apply and control without getting the excess dusting on my face. Would have been better if was packaged like the regular shadows.
Love this eyeshadow!
I agree with some of the other reviewers that this can be a bit tricky to apply. You only need a tiny bit to swipe on your lid. It goes on very smoothly, but you need to tap the excess off of the sponge tip before you apply.
I have this shadow in 4 different colors. You need to be extra careful with the Vapor color as it is dark and if any of it flakes off the tip and gets on your face then it will smear when you try to wipe it off. I recommend using a tissue under your eye when applying.
All in all this stuff is great. It's a time saver and blends easily with other shadows. I like to use a light colored shimmer color between the crease and brow line and then use the high-shine color on my lower lid. Then gently use the blending brush to get a nice blend in between.
This stuff is great, I think if you're not used to make up than this isn't the right thing for you. I use the copper one as the base for a lot of my daily looks and it's wonderful. The trick is to TAP off the access from your sponge tip and GENTLY swipe it once on your lid and blend with your fingers. If you take the sponge tip and just try to wipe it directly on your lid you will have a hot mess, and fall outs will be everywhere.
Overall I really love this makeup, and I recommend it and I also recommend you be VERY careful with it too.
best thing ever!
I love this eye color so much!! the shade glisten is muted enough I can still war it to junior high without looking like I'm going to a party. I don't wear a primer and I have never had a problem with it smearing. you do have to be carful when you put it on make sure you don't get sparkles everywhere, but its still the best thing ever!
I don't wear much eye shadow, so when this came as a free bonus with one of my orders I was looking forward to trying it. The first time I tried to use the sponge applicator it comes with. YUCK. Went on way too thick and I was unable to blend it at all; washed my face it and took forever to come off, plus it smeared all over my face. A few weeks later I thought I'd give it another try, so I applied some Prime Time and then used a fan brush to apply it as an eye liner. Even though I barely got any color on the brush, it went on beautifully this go 'round.. only by the time I'd finished my mascara the eyeshadow was everywhere. I thought maybe I'd smudged it; carefully wiped around my eyes and out we went. Less than an hour later my husband was telling me to do something about it, and it takes a lot for him to tell me what to do with my makeup. It was everywhere. I don't touch my eyes- I have worn contact lenses for 20 years and learned early on to keep my fingers out of my eyes. So how the heck this got all over my face is beyond my understanding. I'm glad this was free, as I would have returned it had I paid for it!
