Q & A

ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.6 5 172 173
Perfect in every way I have tried every foundation out there, I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts due to hormones (so not much will fix it). This foundation is the best thing I have ever found, I have never bought a foundation more than once, and Ive bought this three times already. The small container is not expensive and will last me up to 3 months of regular EVERYDAY use. That's incredible, I never have to touch up my makeup either, instead of sliding off, this foundation just seeps into my skin and look better throughout the day making my real skin look natural and perfect during the day. The minerals in the foundation itself have really helped even out my skin tone making more comfortable without makeup on. I don't even have to buy a concealer because I can just use the foundation with a concealer brush to fix trouble spots. I just dab a little stroke of light brightener under my eyes. I will never use any other foundation besides bare minerals. I am a serious believer I love everything they make! 06/26/2015
THIS STUFF IS AMAZING This foundation is absolutely amazing! I have had some skin troubles recently so when I went to the dermatologist we talked about what foundation I should be using and when I told her that I wore bareMinerals she said that was always her first recommendation for patients that are suffering with skin troubles because it doesn't contain all of the harsh ingredients that most foundations contain! So, not only is this foundation good for your skin and recommended by a doctor who specializes in clearing peoples faces but it also gives the most amazing coverage! Because of my recent term visits I started using different creams that dried out my skin a lot and before I was really oily! But this foundation looks amazing on me when I am extremely oily and when I am extremely dry! So do not shy away from this product just because it is often marketed towards people who have drier skin! I love looking flawless but I do not want to be able to feel my foundation on my face and my mom's biggest pet peeve is when she can tell that I am wearing foundation! So when finally found a foundation we can agree on with bareMinerals! I also just want to say that if you aren't sure about your shade (self matching is never really that great of an idea trust me!) go to a boutique and they are always so helpful! It is one of the only makeup stores I actually enjoy going to because I feel like they aren't trying to pressure me into buying a whole bunch of stuff that I don't need! 06/15/2015
Wonderful I've been using the original foundation for 11 years. When I first saw an infomercial for BE I thought there was no way it could work as advertised. Then a friend tried it and raved about it. So I tried it. WOW!!!! I have bad skin and even at my age (61) I still have breakouts but not as bad as before and I credit that to BE. Even with my oily skin it stays on all day, doesn't cake or crease, or turn an unpleasant color. I still thank my friend for introducing me to BE! 06/12/2015
Adore this! I've been using bare minerals original foundation for the last decade and I absolutely cannot live without it! It offers excellent coverage and is very easily applied. Quick, easy and looks flawlessly natural, not fake or painted on! I love this so much! 06/09/2015
best make up i've used so far! I've tried lots of make ups, and its really hard for women of color to find shades that match well. Bare Minerals is the best foundation i've used thus far and will be the last. It looks great in multiple shades, and I have tried about 4 and even when they weren't my exact match they looked great. But i was able to eventually find my match -Warm Tan which i will wear until discontinued..... hope that never happens. 06/08/2015
Amazing product this makeup gives any amazing cover and feels like I'm not wearing any make-up at all. I have had many compliments regarding my complexion and how young my skin is looking. 06/07/2015
best foundation ever!!!!! I have really trouble some skin and this helps that so much! Keeps oil away and covers great! 06/03/2015
Best Foundation Ever! I have been wearing Bare Minerals foundation for about 15 years and this new product I just received is just as high quality, easy to apply, easy to remove and looks so natural. If you want a fresh weightless foundation then this product is for you! It's perfect! 05/27/2015
great product I've been using this foundation for years! It makes my skin look naturally vibrant. I use it in combination with other BE products to cover blemishes and even out my skin tone. It's one of my favorite beauty products! 05/22/2015
Good feelings have been confirmed I've been using this product religiously for years. I stopped using it for about a week once I got the new Bareskin foundation and was sorely disappointed. I love this stuff even more now than I did before. It's got buildable coverage and it doesn't have an off-putting scent like the liquid foundation. 05/06/2015

I have extremely dry skin and put my moisturizer on about 15 to 30 min prior to my foundation. I seem to get cakey spots on my face. I noticed that even with out using moisturizer I get the spots, just not as bad. I thought it was because it's a powder, but I had the same issue when using a liquid foundation from cover girl. That was why I switched to bare minerals. What can I do.
P.S. I ordered your bareskin several days ago in hopes that it would be better for me.

A:
original is slightly luminous. it has somewhat of a shimmer. some notice, some don't, but the matte is just that. no shimmer, and seems to absorb more oil without going shiny

A:
Original has a natural luminous finish that will enhance those with combo/dry or dry skin types. The matte helps to absorb excess oil, and leave a matte finish instead of a luminous one on the skin. The best way for you to decide is to first consider your skin type. Then visit a boutique, Sephora, or Ulta and allow them to put you in the foundation that best suits your skin needs.

I really want to love this and sometimes it looks good but often it looks heavy in places and very shiny esp on my nose. Or at times I see all of the pores on my nose. What am I doing wrong?

There are a number of questions I need to ask you before I can help give you the advice you seek. Of course, the best answer is for you to visit a boutique and have a BM makeup artist work with you to perfect the look you want. Here are the questions I would ask you. 1. What is your skin care routine and are you consistently doing it? 2. What is your skin type and are you using the right products for it? 3. Have you tried the Prime Time primer underneath the foundation? 4. What brushes are you using to create your look?

You're not putting the mineral veil on all over your face or either you don't brush around the foundation evenly

It depends. Do you want additional coverage or just a setting powder? If additional coverage is wanted you can use the mineral foundation on top of your liquid. If you just want a light setting powder than Mineral Veil is perfect!

I find it hard to get all of the product out of the container with the sifter cover. With the old cover, you could remove it to get the rest of the product out. Is there a way to remove the sifter portion of the container?

I have used a needle nose pliers to remove the sifter cover. You can grab the cover from the edges or put it in the sifter holes. It sometimes tears the cover a little so it will come out in pieces. It is difficult to do, but not impossible. Good luck and watch out so you don't spill the product in the process!

I have this foundation in Fairly Light, but even in the winter found it a little too pink for my skin. Now that I have a bit of a tan, I'd like to buy another foundation but don't know which color would be best. What color would you recommend?

A:
You can mix in a tiny bit of an All Over Face color to help make the Fairly Light a little darker. Warmth is a great color, but there is also a color called a Touch of Sun. Warmth is darker and the Touch of Sun is more subtle. In the winter, you can mix in some of the Light foundation to make it work for you. The great thing about mixing is that it makes your regular foundation last longer. Good luck!

Hi there, i have always used the medium beige shade as was recommended to me by the beautician selling your products a few years ago. Only I have noticed this winter it seems too dark with a slightly orange tint. Which shade is the best one to be one step lighter? I noticed the others have pink undertones but the one i have been using is neutral, would medium be ok in this case?

Medium is the pinkest color of all. if you want to stay neutral go with Fairly Light, and mix them.

I use medium beige in the summer when I have a tan and then fairly light in the winter when I am pale. They both have the same undertones, so they match my skin.

Use warmth or even faux tan as a contour :) just follow the outside of your face in a 3, so start on the forehead ( by your hairline) then sweep down to your cheek bone. Go from the top part of your ear inwards toward your nose, this is your natural cheek bone. then sweep from the hair line towards the jaw. this product will give you a natural contour so it doesn't look too over done and blends in with the foundation. If you want more dramatic just use more of the warmth or faux tan. You can also use a bronzer to make it more dramatic.
