Kat grew up the only child of a single mother who instilled in
Kat a love of music. Much of her childhood was spent listening
to music of various genres—jazz, pop, rock, soul and country
spanning from the 1930’s to the 1980’s. Determined to become
a singer herself, she left home after high school for Austin, TX,
where she regularly performed her music, building a following
that would eventually help her self-released debut album
Take to the Sky hit the top 20 on Billboard's jazz charts.

Soon she was collaborating with some of her musical heroes
like Lyle Lovett. Wanting to maintain her own creative vision,
she funded her second album Way Down Low through a
Kickstarter campaign, generating enough money to record at
the historic Avatar and Capital Studios. This album rose to #1
on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, garnering praise from fans
and critics alike.

Kat's biggest strength is her rich vocal control. Alternatively
coy, elegant and poignant, her sound is smart, familiar pop
steeped in vintage tradition, her style leaning just left of center.
A buoyant singer and songwriter whose tiny stature belies her
