Marvelous Moxie Lipstick - null
Lipstick container and texture of lipstick
Lip stick container does not work. Do not carry this lipsitck in your purse...the top will always come off and your will have a mess. I want a snap shut lipstick container.
And the formulation is on the sticky side. On a windy day your hair is stuck to your lips..annoying..
I like the formula and have no issues with the casing though I prefer a more matte lipstick. Lead the Way looks like a dark purple (and states this in the description) but after I put it on I found that is is really not purple at all. It looks like a dark reddish/pink color with no purple. Bummer. Flying high is a lovely tone of real light purple. So they have a light option for the purple tone lovers. I haven't tried any of the other colors but probably will in the future. I do like that it does not smell like mint.
What's with the new lipstick tube
I have been using your lipstick for as long as I can remember. I have loved it! That was had loved it. You use to carry Bread Pudding and it was so beautiful! Why did you discontinue it?
I could forgive you for that but I can not forgive you for your new lipstick tube design. Never, never again will I buy a tube of your lipstick. I have purchased two tubes, at different times, and in both cases the lipstick doesn't hold it's form (breaks). Why did you change the tube design?
I'll be back when Bread Pudding comes back in the former lipstick tube, former texture - until then - farewell, good-bye.
I still use and love your other products.
Brighter than the picture
I got the shade "Get Ready". I was originally looking for a natural-ish or more subtle shade to wear on an everyday basis. This turned out to be a little too much for that. I might have to look into the light brown shades for everyday. But, it's a really fun and bright color that's not out there if you wear it out to lunch dates or even a casual day at work. Too bright for the days where I feel lazy and don't want to do more than slap on some bb cream and subtle, matte shade of lipstick. I'm Indian so the pink really stands out on my lips. Overall, it can be worn everyday if you're the type to get up early every morning and go the whole nine yards - foundation, eye liner, mascara, a bit of neutral eye shadow and lipstick. It's very easy to put on, nicely pigmented, color does seem to last and doesn't dry out your lips. I put a bit of vaseline on underneath it since I have very dry lips, and that smooths out the lipstick, making it look amazing!
Color is bright orange, not as shown online
I like this lipstick but the color is not as shown online. It is actually a bright orange and I can't use it by itself. I have to use it with another mocha shade to calm it down. I also ordered another lipstick that I thought was a mocha shade but it was too dark. It's really difficult to get a shade I like by ordering online. I have to go to the store to try it out.
Great great product! (color is off on the webpage)
I love Marvelous Moxie Lipstick and owns/tried a couple of colors myself:
My skin color: medium beige - slightly tanned.
It started with a sample of Be free, which is a creamy nude color. I like the texture but you need to be careful with the color since it is a true nude. It will make you look pale if you don't have your cheeks and eyes done.
And then I got a medium sample of Speak your mind. It is more like a baby pink. Very pretty, creamy, and long-lasting.
I tried another two colors in the boutique: get ready and go the distance.
Get ready is a good pink for everyone. My friend got one full size. For me, Go the distance is really interesting to try cuz I was afraid to wear coral color but it looks good on tanned skin. And I am so glad I tried it on. its very pigmented and I got lots of compliment that day. (Will definitely get a full size).
All in all, the texture is creamy and really moisture my lip. It doesn't dry quick like tarte lip stain, (like their foundation though). But it is a cup marker so be careful.
Speak Your Mind
My absolute favorite color is Speak Your Mind. I have very fair coloring and blue eyes and this color is the perfect soft pink color. It is my go to color year round and perfect for a work day. I also really like Never Say Never. Its a bright, vibrant pink that I like for a night out. I just apply it lightly, using a lip brush and top it off with some gloss. The Moxie lipsticks have a nice creamy consistency and long lasting color.
Really amazing lipstick
I am totally in love with this lipstick! I have porcelain skin and am always a little scared to try lip shades because they either work really well or look absolutely horrible (usually absolutely horrible haha). I decided to trust another reviewer who has light skin and really recommended the shade Get Ready, and I have no regrets. I really love the red-pink color, and it lasts a really long time. It is a bright and cheerful shade that also moisturizes and feels so amazing on the lips. Will be looking forward to taking a chance on some other shades because this lipstick is just too awesome. Also, I really like the tube being a bit harder to open because I know my cap won't accidentally detach while moving around in my purse or anything. I think it's neat.
Good lipstick, great colors
I can't comment on the container that others have complained about since I bought the "Kiss and Tell" collection which comes with sample sizes. I also received a sample of Be Free with a recent order.
This lipstick is very high quality, although for the price I'm not sure I would buy the full-sized versions except of the exceptional color Get Ready (see below). This lipstick is incredibly rich and creamy and leaves doesn't dry out my lips. I've used it with and without lipliner and haven't had any problems with bleeding (although I do not have fine lines around my mouth). When used with lipliner, and using the typical method for applying lipstick, this lipstick is long lasting and the colors and range of colors are beautiful. (For reference: the typical method is, lipliner all over lip, apply, blot, apply powder (I use some old maybelline foundation or mineral veil), and apply again, and blot. Try this method before you write this product off.)
Colors: Overall I would say the pictures are true to color (except Be Free) but the descriptions are not always.
*Go all out: Vibrant Barbie doll pink. Definitely not a good color for work but a beautiful spring color that I have not been courageous enough to wear yet. Maybe soon.
*Speak your mind: Rich ballerina pink. This color is almost pure pink with no red, purple, or orange undertones. A great every day color for spring and summer. Great with my skin tone.
*Get ready: A purplish red. I would not call this a "warm rosy pink" as the website does. I find the color to be much more red. This is my absolute favorite color of any lipstick I've owned. It's very beautiful and I believe would be a very nice go-to red for anyone with light and medium skin. I think it would appear more muted on someone with darker skin, but would still be beautiful.
*Break away: Redish-brown mauve. Not a bad color but not for me. I believe it to be a little to intense a mauve for my (very) light skin tone. There is some nice red in there but I would call the color mostly brown.
*Be bold: Blackberry. Seems to be discontinued. I don't love this color because berry isn't the color for me but it is a very nice, pure berry color if that's what you're into.
*Be free: Light caramel. This has to be the absolute ugliest color I have ever seen. It's a little less golden than a piece of caramel. Definitely not flattering for light skin, and I can't imagine it would look good on darker skin either. Definitely not a creamy "pink" nude. It is pure brown.
Bleeds into lip wrinkles
I am old (65) and getting older. This is the first lipstick of any brand that I have purchased that "bleeds" into the fine lines surrounding my lips. I don't wear a lipliner and wonder if it will help. Otherwise loved the lipstick--the color (Never Say Never), the feel (creamy and not greasy) and the wear.
