Marvelous Moxie Lipliner - null 3.3 5 32 32
Nice Color - Disappointing Product I am a long standing user of Bare Mineral cosmetics so I was excited to see that they came out with a lip liner color I was looking for. Unfortunately, although the color was fabulous (Liberated, which gives you a barely there effect), like the other reviews have stated, the retractable pencil does not glide on easily and is subject to breaking if you extend the pencil a little too far. It is a matte color so does dry the lips but it also durable on the lips. Although I don't regret trying the product. I don't think I'll be purchasing again. 01/26/2016
Non existent color choices/product breaks within 3 applications I have tried multiple times with this product, it's terrible every purchase. 4 shades?? Cmon BE. And it would also be great if I could use it more than 3 times before it breaks. 01/11/2016
Moxie Lip Liner I've purchased several different shades of the moxie lip liners. I am disappointed with the product. The liner is hard to apply, tugs, pulls, and usually breaks during application. Change the lid top to a twist or snap on lid. Product needs more moisture. 11/20/2015
Doesn't glide on! After reading a lot of great reviews I thought I would give it a go, but it was pretty disappointing. It is so dry and the application is awful. It didn't glide, it tugged. I was left with choppy uneven color. I thought it was because I have semi-dry lips, so I tried again by first applying lip balm and making sure my lips weren't too damp or too dry. The result was a little better but still didn't look good. I only gave it two stars because it does make my lipstick last longer, but it looks bad. I was disappointed because I absolutely love BareMinerals, but unfortunately this product doesn't work for me. 10/28/2015
You need this lipliner I got this in the color liberated, and it is GORGEOUS!!! It has a hint of pink in it and is the perfect shade for my dark hair, blue eyes, and neutral medium skin tone. Smooth, creamy, and beautiful color! 10/23/2015
Love the Colors, Hate the Dryness I love the colors this lipliner comes in, but I hate how dry it feels going on and how easily it breaks. I purchased my first one back in June, and by August it was already almost gone because it keeps breaking. Earlier lipliners were also dry, so not sure how BE can remedy this, but I won't be buying your lipliner again anytime soon. 10/15/2015
Great texture! At first I was scared to try this kind of color, but it resulted that it actually compliments me. I love smoothness of the liner and helps my Be Free lipstick last... and not just that, it goes perfectly with the lipstick color. Suggestion: be aware of not drawing a lot of the liner out for it can break, and the more it breaks the quicker you'll run out of it. 09/12/2015
Perfect These liners are really great! I bought the Empowered color the other day and have really been enjoying it. I wear it by itself and it seems to last for a long time. The color is gorgeous and the application is pretty smooth. My only complaints are is it a little drying especially when it's worn alone. Second, if you roll the liner up too much it will break very easily. The price is also a little high but at this point it believe it is worth it! :) 08/17/2015
Great color...bad formula I own several colors (8) of these lip-liners. I love their versatility, as they are a good match for almost their entire lipstick line. Unfortunately I will not be buying these again as they keep breaking upon application. With this issue they are not worth it because you end up losing more product then you are using. 08/16/2015
Gives a finishing touch to lipstick I have wrinkles on my upper lip and lipstick bleeds into them. But Marvelous Moxie lipliner stops that from happening. It also give a nice, crisp edge to your lips. Important to use the right color lipliner with the color of the lipstick 08/15/2015

I love BE but haven't had good luck with their lip products in recent years. Nothing stays in place and there aren't many color choices which does not help. I use only BE but for lips I have found a few other brands I now adore. Lip product that doesn't need liner at all. Have to wonder why they stopped making the Quick Sticks. Now everyone else is making similar products but BE only has gloss, liner, oily balm and very not matte lipstick. I don't want to give up. Just tried Speak Your Mind. Nice color but so in need of liner!!! I tried one from another brand and it helped a little. I can't tell which colors might work with it. HELP! :)

I've never used lip liners before and honestly can't tell much difference when someone else uses them. Aside from layering colors (which you can do with just good old lipstick and glosses), is there much of a purpose to buying a liner?

Thanks!

Lip liners define the shape of the lips which some times lipsticks and glosses can't do. Liners also help the lipstick not to slide off the lip. On the other hand, if you think you don't need it, so you don't have to buy any.

Lip Liner is used to keep lipstick from bleeding outside of the lips. Apply lip liner (that's a neutral shade) and fill in from the line of your lip to the middle of both lips and then add the lipstick. If lipstick or lipstick pencil is too bland you can add a little gloss to bump it up. If you're not a lipstick wearer, then lip liner may not be for you. Personally I don't use it. I dont have the issue with lipstick bleeding outside my lips. I just apply lipstick, tiny bit of gloss and blot if it's too much on my lips. I have darker skin and my top lip is already pigmented so I have to apply lipstick to the bottom lip and press my lips to get product on the top one so that it doesn't make me look clownish. I included a link for you to check out.

I find a lip liner to have two main functions- first, it gives your lips a "polished edge" and by using the lip liner you can correct any lip areas you don't like (one side of the top lip is more "plump" then the other, etc. The second, and most importantly, is that it keeps your lipstick and gloss from feathering outside the outline you've made with the lip pencil. Another reason for using a lip liner is that many of us actually color in our lips with the liner, then add the lipstick and/or gloss over the top. it makes your color stay on longer-- especially if you drink a lot of liquids during the day (like me!). if almost provides your lips with a "stain" that then we you reapply your lipstick and gloss (if you want) brings you back to how good you looked in the a.m.-- it keeps your lips from going back to totally normal and washing you out. Many lipliners will dry your lips out-- but I don't find that with BE- I find it moisturizing (like all their lip products), and I love their colors- I've had total strangers (in cosmetic departments) stop me and ask about my lip colors and how great my lips look-- go figure.... I just thought I had normal lips! Hope this helps!!

Even though a previous question and answer indicated to use the side and not the tip of the marvelous moxie lipliner - it still needs sharpened from time to time.

I think there will be no problem to use the sharpener of an old lip liner. However, I personally don't like pencil liners (if you are referring to those); I love the precision liners which you can slide up and down. Just don't worry about the point being sharp or not, you'll get the same results as long as you have good control of your pulse.

You should be able to. Just place it delicately over the top of your moxie lip liner and scale it down to your liking. Or, you can use the bottom of your old bare minerals eyeliner; that too has a sharpener on the end and also a smudger. I discovered that not even a couple years ago toying around with it. It was definitely a bonus discovering that since the product description didn't say there was a smudger or sharpener at the base of it! If you can see my picture clearly, I'm showing you my Big and Bright Eyeliner in Plum on the left. In the middle, is the sharpener/smudger and on the far right is the cap end that keeps it all together. Hope this helps!

Use the end of your Big and Bright Eyeliner. There's a small sharpener at the end of it as well as a smudger too. Contact a BE rep for products of theirs that includes the small sharpener if any. Also, ask them what alternatives could be done to sharpen your liner(s).

Use the side of the lipliner, rather than the tip. Also, you might want to try a softer application (The colors of the liners are pretty strong themselves, so a strong application is not necessary).

Yes, you should use a lip liner with a gloss, because it will add dimension to your lips and make them appear fuller. I would try the lip liner shade called "Exhilarated." If that shade doesn't work, I would go to your boutique afterwards

Best choice is Revved a deep neutral color or Exhilarated a medium rose pink, Thrilled a medium nude, Empowerd a deep pink are other color options with maverick, depending on how or what you want the color to look and blend. I do use a lipliner with moxie gloss occationally to keep it in place, but light handed and smudging it a little helps for a natural look to avoid color fading unevenly.
