Q & A

bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4.2 5 401 403
Wonderful feel and great color for my skin.. I am a woman who wears make-up sometimes. I really like a natural look. Imagine my surprise when I found this wonderful foundation in a Bare Porcelain #1. It provides a gentle coverage that makes a wonderful palate for blush, lip, and eye color. Then out the door I go. I have read some of the complaints about the packaging. My solution is take the cover off, hold the container with your finger over the open end, shake, then apply two or three drops to your brush, and apply to your skin. This way you do not end up with any mess in the cover. I always store the container upright too. There are not enough words to say how pleased I am with this Pure Brightening Serum Foundation. P.S. I am 70+ years old. 12/18/2014
Not good my skin I really wanted to love this foundation. I was so excited when the makeup counter consultant at the boutique put me in the chair to try this foundation and blended easy into my skin. I was happy to pay for it and take it home. Unfortunately after 2-3 months of use my skin can not handle this foundation. I looked at the ingredients and it has way more than the original powder foundation. I had my skin looking great and now I am breaking out again. I would not recommend this if you have sensitive skin. 12/17/2014
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I was hesitant to purchase this foundation, as I don't generally like any liquid foundations. They always seem to make my face break out and look like you could scrap it off with a butter knife! I have definitely changed my mind after trying this foundation! bareSkin is the absolute best foundation I've ever used and will ever use. As long as you don't change the formulation, or stop making it, Heaven forbid, I will be a forever user! Ladies if you're hesitant like I was, take a leap of faith and try it. I guarantee you'll love it! 12/17/2014
Great liquid foundation, poor packaging I switched from Chanel's liquid foundation and am so satisfied with BE's foundation. I have oilier skin and I don't have problems with this product clumping or streaking. I do have a problem with the packaging. It's hard to squeeze and has frequently slipped out of my hand and fallen. This seems to happen every time I'm wearing my new vest. Good news is the foundation washed out with some soapy water. Bad news I'm less likely to use this foundation because it's trickier to get at, and slippery! 12/17/2014
AHHHHMAZING I'm normally NOT a review writer, but this product defiantly deserves one! For months I have been looking for a better quality foundation that would match my skin better(I am the palest of pale). I decided to go with BE because my skin is soooo sensitive, and I have always heard great comments about the bareminerals makeup.. THIS MAKEUP HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. Of course I had to play with it a few times to get it just right but now nothing can top this new foundation. I've found that if you use too much product or don't follow the directions given, then the results are less than satisfactory. I feel like that is where some of the negative reviews are coming from. I have acne scars, discoloration, dry spots, etc. and this foundation works wonders! It is so buildable(if you follow directions) and so lightweight. It literally feels like I am rubbing NOTHING into my face. I would recommend purchasing the brush with the indention that BE recommends for this foundation. Yes, it's a little extra cost, but the results are totally worth it. This product would be great for everyone of every skin type. Oily girls you might have to set with a power and dry girls you may have to moisturizer before but in the end I promise it looks amazing. 12/13/2014
Never going back! This is the ONLY foundation I have ever found that is perfect! My natural white snow flake tone is the hardest to find a match to, and it blends perfectly! It doesn't look yellow or orange, I barely need any, it lasts a long time, and I am never going back to anything else! No cakey residue and its perfect for my sensitive skin. 12/08/2014
Great Foundation but Packing Wastes Product I love that BE finally came out with a liquid foundation. I like the coverage that it provides and it is easy to apply with the brush. However, the design of the packing ensures that you are going to lose a significant amount of the product just in the cap. You are supposed to shake it before applying but we will lose more of the product in the cap with the mixing of the ingredients every morning. BE--yes, I have the cap on tight, redesign the package so we can get the full value. 12/08/2014
Bottle is terrible Product is very nice. Excellent coverage and flattering finish. However, the bottle leaks everywhere: into the box, all over the neck of the bottle and into the cap. Every time I open the product to use it I get foundation all over my hands and whatever I put the bottle on. It is messy and wasteful: I have lost more foundation than I have used. This is an excellent product that I probably won't buy again because of the messy delivery system. I have used Bare Minerals products for many years, but this is a disappointment. 12/07/2014
Not for people with oily skin I was so excited to try this product and the first few wears loved it, however, I noticed my skin was noticeably oilier than normal and this was the only new product I was using. I went back to my BM solid foundation for a few weeks and the oil cleared up. I am disappointed that I invested in not only the bottle but the expensive brush as well. I had high hoes as I love almost all BM products, this one is not for me! 12/07/2014
Not for Sensitive Skin I was excited to try a new BE product since I'm a huge fan and long time user. Initially at the store, I liked the more complete coverage look of the foundation. However once I got outside, I realized the foundation was too light and too yellow. Then as the day progressed I found the foundation felt itchy. After a few more days of use, my skin became a little red and irritated. Not good. What I love about the BE products is not only how good it looks on, but also that it never irritates my skin and never causes breakouts. This new liquid foundation seems to be yet another liquid foundation with all its drawbacks. Definitely sticking with the powder. 12/06/2014

The next shade lighter than Bare Natural 07 (a Medium shade with neutral undertones) is Bare Linen 03 (a Light shade with neutral undertones). It doesn't have any red to it. You can warm it up with some bronzer if it is a bit too light.

I absolutely love this foundation, except for the bottle. :( I love that a little goes a long way, but when product randomly oozes out and down the side, wasting DAYS of foundation, it's hard to convince me to purchase again. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, as it seems random. I've tried shaking less, tried shaking more.... but it's just so frustrating to take off the lid and see foundation pouring down the side uncontrollably. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT.

I've tried shaking it then let it sit for about 30 seconds. It helps some, not as much comes out on it's own.

This foundation is a liquid so it wouldn't stay on the kabuki as well. The kabuki is very absorbent so it would soak up all of the liquid and be very wasteful, plus the application wouldn't work as well. Of course I'd suggest going into the nearest outlet you can find, get matched and ask all your questions there if possible.
Personally I have such a specific color that this is about the only foundation that really matches, and I use it so much I honestly think that its worth buying a new brush if you do choose to get some.

Get on the website and find our powder foundation...is it the palest for neutral, cool or warm tones? Then go find the same shade in the liquid for the same undertone.....like I'm fairly light in the loose powder and bare linen in the liquid....same shade and undertone just different formulas. Hope this helps!!!

it all depends on your undertones, if you have a moe pinker undertone then try to find something that is fair with pinks. Personally I am that weird in-between when i have slightly yellow, slightly pink undertones and i use the Bare Linen 03 and its incredible, in foundations i am a light. I hope that helps a little :)

I am 59 and need to find a new foundation that won't make my facial wrinkles so obvious. Up until now the only foundation I have found that blends into my face color is Pink 2 by Shishedo (sp?). I am very fair and have pink tones compliments of my red headed dad..lol
I have wasted so much money on liquids, powder foundation, mineral ones and I can no longer afford to waste money as I am disabled and on a fixed income.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
betty

I also have pink tones and fair skin. I would recommend Bare Shell 02. It's the lightest color for cool undertones.

Pick the shade that best matches you and then get the one for cool undertones. If you have a boutique or an Ulta or a sephora close to you, you can go in and try the different types of foundations on your problem areas and see which one you like the best. The different formulas work slightly differently in my opinion and your skin may prefer one over the other.

Please shake the bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation well for a perfect mix of ingredients. As for the very strong odor, this is not normal. We suggest to check with Ulta regarding their return policy. If they are not able to accommodate you, please call bareMinerals® Customer Care at 1-888-795-4747.

I am a true believer in Bare Minerals. I love this make-up! With that being said I have "complicated skin" its classified as oily, I have mild rosacea so my cheeks tend to be dryer than the rest of my face. I used to use the oil control primer. That didn't seem to work so I went back to the original primer. I just bought the BareSkin foundation got color matched at my local supplier and I bought the brush the whole nine yards. I love the way this foundation feels but accentuates my dry areas and doesn't help with looking seperated on my face after a day. I only use 2 to 3 drops for my whole face for the coverage. I don't know what I am doing wrong it is almost as if it is melting off my face. If i touch my face throughout the day it comes off. ( also I must add that I did get samples of this product before I bought it , it didn't do this with the samples, and i used a different BM brush then the one that they recommended you use with this product) Please HELP !! I hate to waste all this $$$!

I did see a lot of bad reviews from people with problem or sensitive skin. I also noticed the best reviews always mentioned using the BM brush which is why i decided it was necessary to purchase. I have always had a problem with BM smudging off easily. The Urban Decay setting spray works wonders for the bare minerals and maybe it will work for the foundation as well.

I've had my bareskin foundation for a couple of months now and have always shaken it before applying each drop. However, now when I shake it and twist off the cap it appears to be so liquidy that the foundation leaks down the side of the bottle and oozes quickly out the top instead of forming nice individual drops. Any suggestions on how/if this can be remedied? Thanks!

I don't know if someone already answered this question but yes, its going to be liquidy, but it helps with the application. I know i thought that it was weird that it was that oozy, but on the skin it sits incredibly.

Try not to over shake it and after you do hold it back up right before getting your drops so it can move back down the bottle.

Try taking the cap off and keeping your finger on the lid when shaking, then slowly tip the bottle until just a drop come out and be sure to shake very well. I find it is easier that way than to keep the lid on while shaking. A tiny amount always runs over the sides of the top, but I just swipe the brush over it to grab it all, and use that for a little extra coverage on a scar on my neck area.

At the moment I am using bare mineral powder foundation along with the mineral veil which is amazing for my oily skin and doesn't bring me out in spots!! I have tried lots of liquid foundations and they all bring me out In lots of spots but I think the coverage with liquid foundation is so much better than with powder! Do you recommend this for me? I would love to try it but it's a lot of money if It doesn't get along with my skin.

Definitely not. I have oily skin, and this liquid foundation is terrible! It enhances shine (the bad oily kind), and it sinks into pores making them really stand out. Right at first when I put it on, it looks flawless and great. Within 20 minutes it's smudgy, streaky, makes my skin look dry, and fills in my pores (that's the only place I get any "brightening")

I have oily skin, and I absolutely love this! I have acne scarring and some other spots. I just use concealer and then four drops of this (which gives me medium coverage) and my skin looks flawless! It doesn't do the normal liquid foundation, make-you-look-oily-by-noon-thing. I do finish with mineral veil and some days I will touch up after lunch, but that isn't really necessary every day. It usually just dries up the sweat from the walk to and from the car during my lunch hour!

I recommend this for everyone. The girl who did my make-under (where I first used this) also has oily skin and she has had a similar experience. It is definitely worth the investment, if you ask me. And then it only takes 4 drops, too, so this is going to last me FOREVER!

Just one tip: make sure you shake it up well before opening it, because the contents tend to separate if left sitting.
