bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4 5 499 501
Best foundation EVER but terrible packaging This is the ONLY liquid foundation I have ever found that I can use every day. The brush is amazing and makes application a breeze. However, the bottle almost makes me want to find something else (almost...). It leaks everywhere and is a huge mess. I bought a new bottle because my old one was nearing the end and took way too much time to clean up then apply. I can't travel with it and am paranoid the bottle will tip over in my drawer. This is my favorite bare minerals product ever but PLEASE fix the bottle!!!! 04/29/2015
Kinda love, mostly hate. So I used the original foundation for years before switching to their compact Ready foundation. I loved that so much that I decided to try other Bare Minerals foundations out of curiousity. When I first put this makeup on, using the brush designed for it, I loved it! It looks great and so natural. However, it wore off very quickly and looked spotty. Within an hour, I look like a wreck. So I tried it with Bare Minerals Prime Time, but it still wore off. I added their mineral veil to my routine but still no change. I really wanted to love this, but I'm disappointed in Bare Minerals when it comes to this product. It also settles into my lines while somehow also laying right on top of my skin. It's very odd, but I wouldn't waste your money. Stick with what you know and love. 04/29/2015
I like my bare skin better The word 'serum' in it's name fooled me. I thought this would be like a tinted moisturizer- something that would moisturize my face. No. It does create coverage, but the result looks cakey. I used a sample packet and only used half of it so it's not like I used a whole lot. It doesn't spread well over skin either. It is not flawless. It made my skin more dry. I'd be curious to try their tinted moisturizer. But this product is the worst face makeup I've put on my face. I immediately took it off- I like my real bare skin way better than this makeup. Sample it before you buy. 04/29/2015
Totally awesme with one big drawback I absolutely loved how smoothly this makeup went on, and how build-able it was. It was much easier to get more coverage with it than with the original foundation which has been my product of choice for 5 years. However, thirty minutes after I put my make-up on I touched my face and the foundation was all over my hand. The foundation never dried or soaked in to my skin. Most likely after I get through the small bottle that came with the bare skin kit I will switch back to the Original Foundation or try the new Complexion Rescue Cream. 04/27/2015
It's Perfect! This product is amazing and flawless. And when you use the brush they recommend, it turns out even better! My new favorite product. 04/26/2015
Love this product, please just fix the bottle! Other than the bottle, this foundation is beautiful. I will keep using it. Every time I use this, I waste product. I tilt the bottle to dispense a drop or two of the foundation, and then, when the bottle is standing upright on my counter, more comes out of the hole in the top! I've already taken what I need, so this extra often ends up dribbling down the top of the bottle and getting dried up, because there's no way to return it to the bottle. I'm not squeezing the bottle at all, just shaking it gently to dispense a drop or two. I would suggest changing to a pump bottle, or just a bottle with a cap, over this one. 04/22/2015
Bottle Leaked over 1/2 product out into lid... Over the time I had this, I didn't even get to use the full bottle! Every time you'd shake bottle to mix, etc., you'd open lid to find the foundation leaked all over. Even if it was just in my makeup bag between uses, the foundation would still somehow be leaking out into lid area, & outside of bottle was always oily feeling. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! 04/20/2015
LOVE I just started using this foundation about two weeks ago after getting matched at a BM Boutique and I love it! The coverage of the powder is good, but this is so much better for me on some of my problem areas. It truly makes my skin look flawless! I also purchased the brush and I think it is a great tool to use. Other liquid foundations I usually used my fingers, but never felt like I was getting a full, even application, and with the brush I feel like I get exactly that. One of the most helpful things I learned by going in is that they said to shake it from SIDE to SIDE, rather than up and down. This keeps it from oozing out of the top as soon as you open it. I have been doing that every time I've used it and I haven't any any problems with excess foundation being wasted. 04/20/2015
poor design I like the coverage because I don't need full coverage so that works for me. The design of the bottle is what I HATE! I wonder how much foundation is wasted from it involuntary oozing from the top. It creates a mess and then extra foundation is left inside the cap that I can't get to. It is definitely a waste of money. 04/19/2015
BEST FOUNDATION EVER! I absolutely love this foundation! Have used bare minerals powder foundation for 12+ years, as I got older it didn't work with my older skin. Tried many ....many foundations.....was not happy with any of them....decided i would have to settle with "ugly"....until i tried this foundation a few months ago!!! It is wonderful...... You HAVE to use the primer ...let that dry...then apply foundation (i prefer my fingers to the brush, it blends much better) and you HAVE to use the compact powder to set it. Thank YOU BARE ESCENTUALS!!! I have recommmended a lot of others to try this foundation as well!!! 04/19/2015

This happens to everyone sometimes! Exfoliation is very important, or else you have dead skin cells just sitting on top of your face. You should exfoliate a few times a week and moisturize as well.

I just recently purchased this product. I have never used Bare Minerals, so I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to look. Maybe the color is to dark. My forehead looked very oily to me and like the make up was caked on.

Sounds like you are applying the product to thick, it only take a LITTLE ..... try applying with a foundation brush instead of the application pad that comes with it.

Hi, I have a coloring comparable to Nicole Richie-- I have dark dark brown eyes and medium-light blonde hair and am of Italian and French descent. Just tried 07 Bare Natural and it was too "white/masky" on me. My undereye discoloration was more apparent too.

My veins definitely are green, so I have a warm undertone, but I never select the right foundation shade. My cheeks have some pink, but my skin looks olive/ gold.

Any shade rcommendtons are so appreciated. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I am unable to be colorprinted.

Thanks in advance.

Can this foundation be successfully applied using the fingertips? I do get tired of all the special brush needs ...I feel this might be a marketing thing to get us to spend more

Soooo... I am going to answer my own question ...I thank you everyone one for their answers - but for those pondering the conflicting views here; I am very happy with finger tip application. It IS even, NOT streaky in the least. I do LOVE this foundation. So my advice to anyone else wondering the very same thing is - if you don't already have the brush & have a limited budget ...but you really wanna try the foundation - try it! Use fingertip application for starters. If you aren't quite happy with that, get the brush when you can afford to. I'm very happy w/o the brush. Sometimes after application I buff my flawless face brush over my face for good measure but really just as an after thought. I honestly don't feel it's necessary.

You can apply with fingertips. However I don't recommend it. If you want a pretty finish use the brush. Bare Minerals always recommends a brush. They started marketing their products with a brush and that's for a reason. 1, you don't waste product and 2 it goes on much easier and more even. Hope this helps!

No i would not recommend using your fingers because since it is a type of foundation that sits on top of your skin and not go into your pores it will probably leave many streaks and not go on evenly. The brush is very expensive, but i do use it all the time. But i feel it would be fine if you use a cheaper brush and it will apply just fine. Hope that helped!

Yes, I use my fingers because the "special brush" starts stinking if you don't clean it after every 1-2 times of using it. Fingertips work fine for me.

I usually buy brushes for my different kinds of BE makeups, but I use my fingertips for this. I think it goes on better and blends well by using my hands.

I would advise against using your finger tips and stick to a brush. I use a flat head powder brush to blend out my foundation which works beautifully with liquid foundations. The "special" brush does not work well especially if you're in a hurry to slap on your makeup.
Stick to a well designed, dense, kabuki or powder brush.

No, it is a separate item. However, if you do not want to buy the brush, I know some people also use their fingers or a makeup sponge.

Brush is sold separately. I've used my fingers to get heavier coverage, but for whole face application the brush is necessary. I haven't tried a regular foundation brush yet, but that might also work.

BareSkin will work great for your dryness. If you need the correct color you must go to place where they sell it and have one of the knowledgeable attendants help you. They have a special hand held machine that can determine the correct tone and color of your unique skin.

The next shade lighter than Bare Natural 07 (a Medium shade with neutral undertones) is Bare Linen 03 (a Light shade with neutral undertones). It doesn't have any red to it. You can warm it up with some bronzer if it is a bit too light.

I absolutely love this foundation, except for the bottle. :( I love that a little goes a long way, but when product randomly oozes out and down the side, wasting DAYS of foundation, it's hard to convince me to purchase again. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, as it seems random. I've tried shaking less, tried shaking more.... but it's just so frustrating to take off the lid and see foundation pouring down the side uncontrollably. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT.

When I went in to the store they said if you shake it from SIDE to SIDE, rather than up and down it prevents it from excess coming out. It's been working great for me to do it that way!

I have found that if I shake the bottle by holding the top and bottom, I don't have the leakage problem. If I shake it by holding it in the middle, I have a tendency to squeeze the bottle as I shake. This seems to be where the eruption issue comes from, at least for me. The less pressure put on the sides of the bottle while shaking, the better.

I have had the same problem as you. I have pretty good luck if I open the lid a bit (like opening a soda) close it back up and then shake it lightly and tap the bottom on my vanity a couple times before I open it again. I also hold it at the top and shake it like you would ring a bell instead of shaking it like a can of spray paint.

This is what works for me!
