bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4 5 513 515
Great product Poor packaging Loved this product after trying it during a visit to botique in local mall. I've been a user of bareMinerals powder foundation for years but loved bareSkin so much thought I would give it a try. I'm not one to write reviews but my frustration has reached a level that I now feel I must share with others. This product is expensive and I'm fed up with watching it disappear due to leaking out of the bottle. After shaking (required) the foundation erupts out of the bottle leaving a gooey mess and $$$ worth of product in the garbage. I've tried shaking and letting it sit for a few seconds, or shaking and tapping bottle on counter to help it "settle," but neither method has worked. This foundation works well but the bottle will prevent me from ever buying again. Not worth the money once you consider the waste. 05/20/2015
I really wanted to love this I'll start off by saying that I've been using BM foundations for years. I have sensitive, acne-proned skin and started off using the original mineral foundation, then switched to the compact Ready foundation which is my absolute FAV. When BareSkin made its debut I was stoked because all other liquid foundations I've tried in the past have made me break out horribly. So I gave it a try. I went into a boutique & got color matched and LOVED the result. HOWEVER, a week or two after using it I began to hate it. The packaging is horrible, SOOOO much product is wasted it's a shame considering the price. 2nd: This foundation gets on EVERYTHING. I use 2 drops, sometimes 3, if I need extra coverage. I use a primer, I set it with loose powder AND I use Urban Decays makeup setting spray and this foundation STILL will rub onto anything. Your hands, your phone, clothes, etc. I llve wearing liquid foundation but unfortunately I have to switch back to the compact Ready powder foundation. 05/19/2015
Hate the bottle! Love the product but like so many of the reviewers I hate the bottle. I have wasted soooo much of it from having it oozes from the top after shaking it and then opening it. Could I get that product back? It is a terrible design. Need a price reduction to compensate for all the waste. New bottle please!! 05/19/2015
Very nice product but super messy I don't know what to think about this. It's good foundation, makes your skin look very nice. BUT. Even you need only two or three drops of it, every single time at least another three drops goes to waste. This bottle leaks very bad, I don't know if I just had bad luck with it and it's not normal for the bottle. Foundation comes out as lava from volcano and the whole lid is very messy since it always leaks there. I keep the bottle in standing position so that shouldn't be a problem. It's a bummer to buy a 30 bucks foundation and 30 bucks brush when half (or more) of the foundation goes to waste and the brush is impossible to clean. So two stars only because the foundation itself is perfect (5 stars). 05/17/2015
smooth, nice color, use just a little hate the bottle I also hate the bottle... it leaks, i end up using the stuff that has leaked out of the bottle rather than using a couple of drops, the cover cracked, need new delivery system, 05/16/2015
Love the product. Hate the bottle. I love the way it makes my skin look flawless and feel soft. The only problem I had was that the bottle leaks and the product oozes out of the top when removing the cap after shaking. It would be much more efficient with a pump dispenser. 05/14/2015
Very Disappointed I've tried this in 2 separate colors, 01 (Bare Porcelain) and 02 (Bare Shell). I'm really disappointed to see BE succumb to demands for a liquid foundation and have this be their solution. Unlike the mineral foundation, you can SEE this product sitting on top of your skin; it will 100% look like you are wearing makeup. It doesn't feel light on your skin either, you can feel it unlike their mineral foundation. Even with primer, it transfers onto clothing and if you scratch your face even as light as you can you'll have product caked under your fingernails. If I want the ease of liquid application, I use Na-PCA mixed with the mineral foundation and get awesome results without having to compromise. 05/11/2015
amazing coverage im so in with this foundation serum. it has the best coverage. i start off with 2 droplets for half of my face.and that does full coverage for me. some times i will do 1 droplet here and there and then original bare minerals powder over it and gives me the best coverage. its so amazing it covers everything it glides on , and u don't feel like ur wearing any foundation and that is one thing i luv about it. before using bare minerals i use to use other foundations and i would get hot flashes cause i felt like my skin could not breath. but ever since perfecting serum i do not get like that any more. please try it and always make sure u shake the bottle before u use it.. u have to! to make sure it mixes since it doesn't have binders and all the bad stuff.. so don't forget shake it!!! before every use.. 05/11/2015
Wondered why I'm from Hong Kong and I am a big fan of bareminerals since I used the matte powder foundation and the mineral veil. Then, I'm very curious on the bareskin so I went to the store and got one. However, after I used it for 3 consecutive days, my skin became very itchy and full of redness but I originally not sensitive skin. After my skin recovered, I gave one more chance to it but the result was just the same. I really wonder why it is so different from the powder foundation. 05/10/2015
Very Greasy I was excited to try the new foundation which has fewer chemicals than the one I have used for years. I found it to be extremely greasy on my normal to dry skin. I had to apply powder several times a day. Unfortunately, I had to go back to my old foundation. 05/08/2015

This happens to everyone sometimes! Exfoliation is very important, or else you have dead skin cells just sitting on top of your face. You should exfoliate a few times a week and moisturize as well.

I just recently purchased this product. I have never used Bare Minerals, so I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to look. Maybe the color is to dark. My forehead looked very oily to me and like the make up was caked on.

Sounds like you are applying the product to thick, it only take a LITTLE ..... try applying with a foundation brush instead of the application pad that comes with it.

Hi, I have a coloring comparable to Nicole Richie-- I have dark dark brown eyes and medium-light blonde hair and am of Italian and French descent. Just tried 07 Bare Natural and it was too "white/masky" on me. My undereye discoloration was more apparent too.

My veins definitely are green, so I have a warm undertone, but I never select the right foundation shade. My cheeks have some pink, but my skin looks olive/ gold.

Any shade rcommendtons are so appreciated. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I am unable to be colorprinted.

Thanks in advance.

Can this foundation be successfully applied using the fingertips? I do get tired of all the special brush needs ...I feel this might be a marketing thing to get us to spend more

Soooo... I am going to answer my own question ...I thank you everyone one for their answers - but for those pondering the conflicting views here; I am very happy with finger tip application. It IS even, NOT streaky in the least. I do LOVE this foundation. So my advice to anyone else wondering the very same thing is - if you don't already have the brush & have a limited budget ...but you really wanna try the foundation - try it! Use fingertip application for starters. If you aren't quite happy with that, get the brush when you can afford to. I'm very happy w/o the brush. Sometimes after application I buff my flawless face brush over my face for good measure but really just as an after thought. I honestly don't feel it's necessary.

You can apply with fingertips. However I don't recommend it. If you want a pretty finish use the brush. Bare Minerals always recommends a brush. They started marketing their products with a brush and that's for a reason. 1, you don't waste product and 2 it goes on much easier and more even. Hope this helps!

No i would not recommend using your fingers because since it is a type of foundation that sits on top of your skin and not go into your pores it will probably leave many streaks and not go on evenly. The brush is very expensive, but i do use it all the time. But i feel it would be fine if you use a cheaper brush and it will apply just fine. Hope that helped!

Yes, I use my fingers because the "special brush" starts stinking if you don't clean it after every 1-2 times of using it. Fingertips work fine for me.

I usually buy brushes for my different kinds of BE makeups, but I use my fingertips for this. I think it goes on better and blends well by using my hands.

I would advise against using your finger tips and stick to a brush. I use a flat head powder brush to blend out my foundation which works beautifully with liquid foundations. The "special" brush does not work well especially if you're in a hurry to slap on your makeup.
Stick to a well designed, dense, kabuki or powder brush.

No, it is a separate item. However, if you do not want to buy the brush, I know some people also use their fingers or a makeup sponge.

Brush is sold separately. I've used my fingers to get heavier coverage, but for whole face application the brush is necessary. I haven't tried a regular foundation brush yet, but that might also work.

BareSkin will work great for your dryness. If you need the correct color you must go to place where they sell it and have one of the knowledgeable attendants help you. They have a special hand held machine that can determine the correct tone and color of your unique skin.

The next shade lighter than Bare Natural 07 (a Medium shade with neutral undertones) is Bare Linen 03 (a Light shade with neutral undertones). It doesn't have any red to it. You can warm it up with some bronzer if it is a bit too light.

I absolutely love this foundation, except for the bottle. :( I love that a little goes a long way, but when product randomly oozes out and down the side, wasting DAYS of foundation, it's hard to convince me to purchase again. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, as it seems random. I've tried shaking less, tried shaking more.... but it's just so frustrating to take off the lid and see foundation pouring down the side uncontrollably. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT.

When I went in to the store they said if you shake it from SIDE to SIDE, rather than up and down it prevents it from excess coming out. It's been working great for me to do it that way!

I have found that if I shake the bottle by holding the top and bottom, I don't have the leakage problem. If I shake it by holding it in the middle, I have a tendency to squeeze the bottle as I shake. This seems to be where the eruption issue comes from, at least for me. The less pressure put on the sides of the bottle while shaking, the better.

I have had the same problem as you. I have pretty good luck if I open the lid a bit (like opening a soda) close it back up and then shake it lightly and tap the bottom on my vanity a couple times before I open it again. I also hold it at the top and shake it like you would ring a bell instead of shaking it like a can of spray paint.

This is what works for me!
