Q & A

bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 3.9 5 648 651
softer bottle, please Love this product, but with arthritic fingers it is way too difficult to get out of its' bottle. When the bottle or container allows easier dispensing, i would like to buy again. Dispensing is either not at all or a splatters that go everywhere. 04/24/2016
Pleasantly surprised! I've been using the original powder foundation for years and decided to try this bareSkin Serum foundation. I was a little skeptical that the 1-2 drops would do the job...but boy...was I wrong. In fact, for daily wear, I only need 1 drop per side and the coverage is AMAZING. It's amazingly smooth and applies effortlessly. So far, I am loving it and so glad I decided to try it. I am not having any issues with getting the drops out of the bottle. You just have to be do a slight squeeze in the middle of the container. Since I only need 2 drops for my entire face this bottle will last me a long time, $ well spent. 04/15/2016
Don't like the bottle I purchased the serum foundation and the brush, which I thought was quite expensive. I like the serum foundation, but not the bottle. 04/13/2016
Good Foundation Great overall coverage, and it didn't break out my sensitive skin, i would buy again. 04/12/2016
Horrible Packaging Ruins Amazing Product I love this foundation! A small bit goes a long way, and the coverage is unbeatable. The texture and finish are flawless. Unfortunately, it comes in the most poorly designed bottle I have ever experienced. Like other reviewers, I also have the "too little or too much" issue. It either does not come out, or half the bottle splurts out. However, my biggest complaint is that the bottle is completely unusable for anyone suffering from RA, arthritis, or any other hand or joint issues. I would gladly give this wonderful product 10 hearts if it weren't for the bottle. Please improve the packaging! 04/09/2016
Bottle needs to be redesigned. love the product. HATE the bottle. 3/4 of the time, nothing will come out of the bottle or half the bottle comes out all at once. I have arthritic hands and it should not hurt to put on foundation. 04/07/2016
Bad packaging Love the product but container cracked within days and now foundation either spills out of crack or doesn't come out. 04/06/2016
Best liquid foundation I have used! I love this make up. It goes on smooth and even coverage. A little bit does go a long way. 2 drops max on the special brush, and buff it away into your skin. I will wipe a stripe of it on each area of my face and then buff away. It does not feel heavy at all. I feel it does have a lot of moisture in it. I do NOT use any moisturizer before I apply it. It is a serum so I feel that is enough for me. I have normal skin with slight t-zone oil. Overall a great product for my skin. The only negative is the bottle, it needs some improvement on how it comes out. Occasionally it will glob out, not nice drops like it should, which is wasteful. Other than that I love it!!!!! 04/03/2016
Great foundation but... Great foundation but the bottle is awful. As bottle leaks all over and ends up being a waste of the product. When I expect foundation out the tip of the bottle, it is everywhere else. There are times I can save some of the leaking foundation but it is a big waste of foundation. With whatever is in the bottle to shake the foundation makes things difficult to know if there is anything left or not. The colored bottle is another thing. If I am running out, I want to know and how the heck can I do it now. As much I love the foundation, I won't buy it again until and unless there is a better bottle. 04/03/2016
Love this product, don't love the bottle The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the bottle. I have been using this product for quite a while and love the results. When buffed and blended thoroughly it makes my face look flawless, and natural. The only frustration that I have is that sometimes when I open the bottle the makeup bubbles out of it uncontrollably. I end up wasting a lot of it, and it makes a big mess. In the cap there is the tiniest stopper. I wonder if that stopper were longer and actually went into the bottle if it would stop the "eruptions" of product loss. Other than that, the product itself is fantastic and I frequently get compliments when I wear it. 04/02/2016

I would recommend you going to a boutique and have one of the associates there help you with matching you. I had done the matching on line and was ready to order the resulting shade but decided to take a visit to a boutique, just in case, and the shade she matched me to was not even close to what I was looking to purchase on line.

The best way to apply with a brush is by using circular buffing strokes in an upward motion. this pulls the glow of your face upward and outward rather than pulling you down. Try not to blend out the areas that you need more coverage too much. By slightly tapping on these areas with the brush rather than rubbing you can get more coverage without looking cakey. Hope this helps!

I have combination skin (but mostly oily) and am blemish prone, so is this foundation good for that? I currently use the matte powder foundation, so which is better for my more oily skin type?

Powder foundation is good for oily skin in general but the Blemish Remedy foundation contains tea tree oil and aspen bark which are really good for preventing and treating acne. It's basically the same as their normal powder foundation but with the added goodies to help acne prone skin!

I have oily skin too and this product did not pair well with it. I love the matte powder foundation. I need a liquid and powder foundation to get enough coverage but if you only need one I would go with the matte powder. This product is thin and probably not good for blemishes. Im currently trying to find a new liquid foundation so i cant suggest a good one for you. Hope I helped!

I use both and either can use be used on mature skin. I think it depends on what kind of coverage you want. CR is like a tinted moisturizer/BB cream and BS is a lightweight foundation.

bareSkin by far. I tried the other product and it did not produce the coverage, finish or look I want for my mature skin. My girlfriend tried it as well and her outcome was the same. I returned my Complexion Rescue and exchanged it for bareSkin.

I really love the Bareskin foundation (I use Bare Latte), but I find it never really seems to "set". Even hours later, like if I wipe my mouth after eating, some product comes off on the napkin. I worry about it rubbing off on my clothes in case they come in contact. I don't use a lot (maybe 2-3 drops for whole face) and dust on mineral veil after. It looks great, so why doesn't it seem to "dry"? Am I doing something wrong, or should I be doing something else?

I would try 1-2 drops of the product first and buff it in with the brush REALLY, REALLY well. I start off with one drop, buff it in all over and if I feel I need more, I add that second drop. I never wear more than two drops.
However if you're still noticing transfer perhaps your skin is just on the oily side. Mine is dry dry DRY and it doesn't ever come off for me. Try some oil blotting sheets and see if that helps. It is after all, a 'serum'. It's not supposed to fully set; the serum helps give it a glow.

I don't use this product but maybe your natural face oils are not allowing the product to set well. I would try a primer and/or a setting spray or finishing powder!

Use less. Start with one drop and be sure to buff in with the special reservoir brush. Top it off with Mineral Veil and be sure to apply evenly over your entire face. it you require more coverage use two drops. I find I never need more than that. Also, you might want to check what moisturizer you are apply over. If it is on the greasy side, it will certainly add to your issue.

Hi walkmom, I have found that this foundation can come off it not setted properly. I would try applying the complexion rescue, then a finishing powder or mineral veil, then spraying a drug store makeup finishing spray. They are a clear liquid that you spray on your face after your makeup is completely done to keep it from rubbing off, dripping from sweat, etc. I stand by my NYX finishing spray from Target. You just spray it on when you're completely done, then let it dry (make sure to close your eyes when you do this and avoid getting it in your hair). I hope this helps!

Hi Marlee Rae here I'm also a medium tan and have oily skin and I know how that can become a problem when it comes to choosing the right foundation for your skin. First you want to be very careful about how you prepare your skin before you put your foundation on. If you have oily skin you might want to skimp on using moisturizers as this can add to your skins oil production. Second you might want to think about an oil absorbing foundation primer, I know bareminerals sells one and you should look into it. Third as far as shade goes I know I'm a blender as well and i use medium tan with medium beige sometimes and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that sometimes our favorite foundations aren't always a perfect match. If I had a better idea of what your skin looked like or what your skins undertones were I could probably be more specific. But I do know that the powder foundation or the ready pressed powder would probably work best for you, because since you have oily skin your going to want your skin to be "set" with some kind of powder, in comparison to the bareskin, and complexion rescue. Anyhow I hoped my answer helped you and good luck!
