Q & A

bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 721.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but please redesign the packaging I like this foundation a lot so far. I just switched from the loose powder foundation to this liquid foundation. I have very dry/sensitive/acne prone skin and this looks pretty and does a pretty good job hiding it with some concealer. The bottle is terrible. If the bottle is not upright at all times, it basically explodes in the lid. The guy at Bare Minerals mentioned to me that there is a gap between the opening in the bottle and the lid so to be careful not to let it tip over. He also warned me to open the bottle, and use my finger to cover the hole before shaking it each time. PLEASE fix this bottle. It sucks and it is super wasteful to lose product to bad packaging.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad coverage This makeup does not give good coverage at all. It doesn't matter how much I use, it still doesn't cover enough. The foundation gives streaks and dries in clumps. It doesn't last long at all either. Merle Norman foundation has ten times better coverage, yet is more expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Make up I love your products but hate the containers which are not user friendly. They either have too much irrelevant plastic which I can never remove to get at the product or I have to shake like crazy to get at the liquid and cannot tell how much is left. Please improve your containers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product is good but you can't get to it. I love the foundation; however, the bottle is terrible. I can shake for minutes and nothing comes out. It's not empty so there's a huge flaw in the construction. I wanted to order something else, but this has worked best for my complexion. Now it's off to find an alternate foundation elsewhere. Please fix it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it I think those complaining aren't using it correctly. Moisturize first. I only use three drops of this serum. That's a drop not a blob. That's all you need it you want a light layer but coverage. The bottle is terrible. Sometimes it spews out of the top and I have to be very careful to squeeze the bottle just right so I get a drop not a blob. Please work on the packaging.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wanted to love it. I wanted to love this foundation. I love the brush. The foundation needs work. I have tried 1-6 drops. It doesn't matter, the coverage looks streaky and cakey. The coverage isn't very good. I would buff for a long time, didn't matter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Makeup..Hate Container Makeup is great. I have dry skin and it stays moisturized all day. However, bottle is terrible. It's very messy and not good for travel. Also hard to know when I'm getting low.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great makeup poor bottle design I love this makeup! Goes so smoothly on my face and seems to erase blemishes. But the bottle is so poorly designed. Make up will explode and leak out of the bottle from the top. Please design a better bottle!! Then I'll rate it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Foundation Ever! This is by far the best foundation I ever used! My daughter and I love this Bare Mineral Foundation, it glides on smoothly and stays on all day! It is light and barely there! The only foundation I use on my face!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Completely opaque coverage that highlights every crease or bump I tried this when I saw it on TV, because it looked so smooth and velvety. Well it's like putting on a sheet of fabric on your face. It's completely opaque and horribly fills in lines, highlights any fine line, or bump and even tiny hairs that cover everyone's face- even the blonde ones. My husband said I used to look natural and now I look old and like I'm wearing a scary mask. I'm 30 and get asked if I'm in high school all the time with no makeup on. A foundation shouldn't behave like this. Period. I've used the original foundation for 15 years now and will immediately be going back to it. I thought that this being a liquid would be more moisturizing but it's not.

Q & A

I'm considering trying this, but I hate liquid foundation. Is it worth trying out?

I recently started getting into Bare Minerals, and I use the original foundation in fairly light as well as the blemish remedy foundation in clearly pearl. So far I seem to like the powder foundations, because I hate the feeling of having liquid foundation on my face and they always feel heavy and gross. How does this product feel on the face? Is it lightweight? I have some acne problems as well that I would like to cover, but I don't like the caked on look of full coverage. I still like the skin to look natural, but without the redness and noticeable pimples, if that makes any sense. Compared to the powder foundations, how buildable is the coverage? Also, what are the differences, if any, between this product and the complexion rescue gel product? I'm torn between trying this and the complexion rescue product.
Asked by: parsley42
Hello Parsley - We thank you for your questions. The bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 has an ultra-thin, silky texture which allows build-able medium to full coverage. This foundation is also clinically proven to improve the appearance of dark spots, skin brightness and skin texture. Our Complexion Rescue™ Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is more of a combination of a BB and CC cream. This product provides sheer to medium coverage and a radiant, natural-looking makeup with a dewy, soft, smooth finish. If you do not enjoy the feeling of a liquid foundation, but you are looking for decent coverage, we would suggest trying our barePRO® Performance Wear Powder Foundation. This foundation provides 12-hour long lasting coverage, made with skin-loving ingredients to support a healthy complexion. Have a great day !

i love this product, however it seems not to want to dispense without sticking a large pin into the nozzle and then a large bubble burst forth

i shake it very well and then nothing comes out until I stick a pin into the nozzle. Then, it seems to spew out a large drop and make a mess, but then when I turn into over and try to dispense onto brush-it's stuck again. I have to do this over and over and it's messy. I am considering changing to a different brand even though I love this product

Is the titanium dioxide nano?

I'm concerned about nano titanium dioxide in my beauty products. I know that Complexion Rescue uses nano titanium. Does Bareskin Serum foundation contain nano titanium dioxide?
Asked by: wenger
I'm going to answer my own question. According to EWGSkinDeep, the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are sunscreen grade, non-nano.

I use fairly medium powder. Which liquid should I use?
Asked by: JULIE1948
I use Bare Natural 07 - I think this would be good. I also use fairly medium powder. For winter anyway and if you don't pick up a tan. Down south here I have to go a bit darker for summer.

What color is best for medium with pink undertone?

I want to purchase BareSkin. I don't know which color has more pink than yellow. I like the pink not the yellow tone.
Asked by: Jacqueu
Cool indicates it has pink undertones, warm indicates yellow undertones, neutral is just that neutral. I you have a sallow skin and don't want to look too yellow or pink get a neutral. Even warm skin tones can go for neutral to under emphasize the sallow tones.

How do you apply this foundation, I have the brush needed for application, but downward strokes, circular strokes?

This using a brush for my foundation is new, in the liquid form that is..
Asked by: Jello
I did not buy the recommended brush for this serum foundation right away and simply used my fingers or a makeup sponge to blend. But I finally bought one a month ago and I have to say that I feel like the brush does a better job of blending this product into my skin. It only takes two drops on the brush to cover my forehead, another two drops each for each side of my face, one drop to cover my nose, and one drop for my chin. I use circular strokes allover and then upward strokes on my forehead and cheeks. it becomes easier the more you do it, and you'll find a way that works best for you.

Good for oily skin?

I have combination skin (but mostly oily) and am blemish prone, so is this foundation good for that? I currently use the matte powder foundation, so which is better for my more oily skin type?
Asked by: MoGo
I would say no. This foundation made me break out in acne, an issue I typically don't have an issue with, so I would theorize, it would not be a good match for oily skin.

Which foundation is best for mature skin?

is bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum or Complexion rescue tinted hydrating gel cream best for matur skin?
Asked by: Mellou
I am 41 years old and use bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation on my dry-ish skin. I have never used Complexion Rescue, but I can tell you that I have been using this foundation for two years and I love it. I have a lot of dark spots and hyperpigmenting from sun exposure and this provides excellent coverage of them. I will say that I cannot use this foundation AND Mineral Veil or another powder with foundation or it accentuates every line and wrinkle I have on my face, so I have to use it alone or with the bareSkin concealer.
