bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4.3 5 315 315
Not for my senior skin! Have been using BM products for 14 years and prefer the original foundation for my skin. Tried the new liquid and found the new bottle difficult to squeeze product out. After several days was able to get some drops out. Wanted to give the new product a fair trail on my skin so kept using it. Always felt greasy even though two drops was more that enough for coverage. Also had to order two different colors to try and match my skin tone. Now the bottles are messy and the liquid comes out too fast. Product runs out the top and gets all over! I have dry skin and minor wrinkles. The original foundation with Mineral Veil makes my skin look great. Just couldn't get over the greasy feel of the liquid. Will remain a satisfied customer with the old products. 08/16/2014
Just what I needed this perfect! I love bare minerals original mineral foundation. I learned about it from my mom when I was looking for makeup during prom season last year. I always loved the original, but I always loved the moisturizing feel of a liquid foundation. When Bare minerals came out with this pure brightening serum foundation I was ecstatic! I have a lot of discoloration and some dark marks and acne scars that make me feel self conscious. I have combination skin some parts of my face are super dry other parts are oily, this product makes my face look and feel completely balanced. This product is FLAWLESS. All I can say is-- Thank you Bare Minerals from the bottom of my heart. 08/15/2014
Go in and try it before you buy it! I love this brand of make-up, however this particular item is not suited to my skin type. I think my skin is just too dry- and no matter how much I scrub and hydrate before hand I can't seem to get this to look like I don't have flaky skin when I wear this. I would definitely recommend going into a store and trying this out before you drop any money on it. Lesson learned. 08/15/2014
New to Foundation I haven't ever worn foundation before so when I went to the Bare Minerals store I was nervous about anything being to heavy on my skin. Long story short, I'm so happy with how this makeup looks-- never cakey, great coverage, but never feels like I'm wearing makeup. I even use it on a concealer brush to add an extra layer on my undereye areas and on any blemishes and dark spots. Highly recommend! Even better if you can go in store for a shade match. 08/14/2014
Not totally satisfied I like the coverage of this makeup but it makes my skin look oily. My husband even told me my face looked oily. I put my original bare minerals on today and asked him how it looked and he said it looked better, not oily. I used it for over a month and it didn't get any better. I will stick with the original Bare Minerals foundation that I have been using for years. 08/13/2014
The only liquid foundation I have EVER liked I have a large collection of foundations that I have tried. I always hated how large my pores looked with liquid foundation. I only discovered bareminerals a couple of years ago, but I loved all of their products. I started out with the loose powder, fell in love with the ready product line, and was just plain confused when this liquid foundation first hit my local retailer. I wanted to try it on a whim and at first I hated the product. I thought that it was too greasy and just didn't like how it felt on my skin. I returned it promptly. A few months later I decided to try it again. I figured I would give it a real shot this time. I was amazed at the results! I love how it makes my skin look and feel. I don't see my pores as much anymore and it just makes me feel prettier. I like it better than my powder foundations. You just have to give the foundation a chance, even if you have super oily skin like me. Here is were the problems I found and what I did to solve them: Too greasy - I put two drops in the brush and dotted in on the part of my face that I was buffing it into. A little went a long way for me. So I used two drops for my cheek area, two for my forehead, one to blend down my jawline and the left over I used on my nose, chin and mouth area. If I needed more on any area I only used one drop. Melted off my face - I used a primer the second time around. I am currently using the original bareminerals primer and it works like a charm. Also, I use my ready mineral veil in translucent to set the foundation and it lasts all day for me. Smearing - Honestly the tip above worked for this too, but I will say this: Let your primer sit on your skin a few minutes before you put your foundation on. It will go on smoother and stay in place longer. Also, let your foundation set on your skin for two to five minutes before you start applying anything else to your face. Trust me it helps. 08/12/2014
Satisfying After reading a few of the reviews posted on this product I was a little leery, especially since I have never used liquid foundation. To ensure that I don’t waste a good chunk of money I picked up a free sample to put to the test. This tiny sample has lasted me an entire week and it still is not empty which is great for the time being. I have oil/ combination skin and this foundation did a great job staying put and I didn't feel as though it was caked on. I have yet to notice any changes in my skin, perhaps a bit brighter, but I have been given plenty of compliments, little do friends and family know what truly lies behind this mask of cover-up. The reason behind not giving this product a 5 star is due to the fact that I have to supplement some of the larger and more irritated acne with a dry foundation. It appears as though everyone is affected differently by this product so I recommend trying out a sample first before buying. It’ll save both time and money. 08/12/2014
Great stuff, Bad ODOR I love this stuff! Goes on a great and leaves a very natural appearance. Covers up all my dark marks and redness, and evens out my skin tone. BUT is it just me, or does it leave a funky smell? I suggest you add on a scent to get to mask that odd odor. 08/11/2014
BEST FOUNDATION EVER! I decided to try this foundation (in Linen) after having used Bare Minerals for quite a few years. I'm 69 and the mineral foundation was not doing as good a job of concealing the little capillaries and redness that seem to get more prominent with age. Even though I still use a small amount of concealer, this foundation covers beautifully! I love the way the brush applies the foundation and just buffing it on is easy (did take a few tries to master that!) I've tried lots of high dollar dept. store foundations but this is THE ONE. Most others irritate my eyes if I applied it too closely to the eyes, but I can brush this right over my eyelids with no problem. There are no cons to this foundation. I had purchased the first from Sephora because I had a gift certificate and when I discovered how much I loved it, I bought another from here (just in case they ran out!) Buy this foundation - you can't go wrong. It's great for my "old skin" and I'm sure it would be perfect for younger skin. Another plus is I don't usually use mineral veil over this - which is amazing in South Louisiana's humid climate. 08/07/2014

I am a true believer in Bare Minerals. I love this make-up! With that being said I have "complicated skin" its classified as oily, I have mild rosacea so my cheeks tend to be dryer than the rest of my face. I used to use the oil control primer. That didn't seem to work so I went back to the original primer. I just bought the BareSkin foundation got color matched at my local supplier and I bought the brush the whole nine yards. I love the way this foundation feels but accentuates my dry areas and doesn't help with looking seperated on my face after a day. I only use 2 to 3 drops for my whole face for the coverage. I don't know what I am doing wrong it is almost as if it is melting off my face. If i touch my face throughout the day it comes off. ( also I must add that I did get samples of this product before I bought it , it didn't do this with the samples, and i used a different BM brush then the one that they recommended you use with this product) Please HELP !! I hate to waste all this $$$!

I've had my bareskin foundation for a couple of months now and have always shaken it before applying each drop. However, now when I shake it and twist off the cap it appears to be so liquidy that the foundation leaks down the side of the bottle and oozes quickly out the top instead of forming nice individual drops. Any suggestions on how/if this can be remedied? Thanks!

At the moment I am using bare mineral powder foundation along with the mineral veil which is amazing for my oily skin and doesn't bring me out in spots!! I have tried lots of liquid foundations and they all bring me out In lots of spots but I think the coverage with liquid foundation is so much better than with powder! Do you recommend this for me? I would love to try it but it's a lot of money if It doesn't get along with my skin.

I have oily skin, and I absolutely love this! I have acne scarring and some other spots. I just use concealer and then four drops of this (which gives me medium coverage) and my skin looks flawless! It doesn't do the normal liquid foundation, make-you-look-oily-by-noon-thing. I do finish with mineral veil and some days I will touch up after lunch, but that isn't really necessary every day. It usually just dries up the sweat from the walk to and from the car during my lunch hour!

I recommend this for everyone. The girl who did my make-under (where I first used this) also has oily skin and she has had a similar experience. It is definitely worth the investment, if you ask me. And then it only takes 4 drops, too, so this is going to last me FOREVER!

Just one tip: make sure you shake it up well before opening it, because the contents tend to separate if left sitting.

It has been to my knowledge that neither minerals nor SPF are camera friendly, so I believe I already know that answer to this question. But due to those ingredients, will I receive a flashback in photos or would you suggest this for brides? Or you would honestly suggest a professional foundation better suited for photography.

Thank you.

Dear Bride,
You'd be surprised how many makeup artists use Bare Escentuals with the SPF for professional photography! Especially bridal photos! Bare Escentuals makes your skin look soft, smooth, and radiant! You will never look oily, shiny, or sweaty! The color selection is awesome, and can be started with soft, natural colors for day time, and as the evening begins, you can "smoke" your eyes and brighten your lips, dance all night, and look gorgeous in every photo! Both of my daughters, their bridesmaids, and the Moms and Grandmothers had Bare Escentuals applied by professional makeup artists. Even our little flower girls were allowed a touch of lip gloss and clear Radiance was used on their eyelids and cheeks. We all looked so perfect! Many guests noted the "family resemblance", ask if the brides, maids, and Moms were models. Many said the Grandmothers and Moms looked too young to have bridal daughters! Most of all, the brides were radiant, beautiful, and looked so in love! This makeup can't make you look "in love", but since you are, it can enhance that magic glow and help it shine through your eyes, not on you nose and cheeks! Try a practice session with an artist familiar with the products. You won't regret it!

I'm curious for feedback from my fellow Bare Minerals loyal users. I began with Bare Minerals Original formula foundation but upon trying the Ready Foundation I fell in love with the Ready Foundation and use it loyally. I am curious about Bare Skin Brightening Serum but not sure if I will get the same results. So I'd like to know what other Bare Minerals users have found when comparing the two.

There is no better. It really depends what exactly Your looking for. With the Ready foundation it moisterizes and keeps skin moist for people with dry skin to combination and you can layer it to any finish you like from light to heavy. This also has more of a mattified look to it when applying. With the BareSkin Brightning serum foundation you can layer your foundation to whatever finish you prefer however this one seems to have an added plus like the brightening serum if you have dark spots like me you will like this foundation since you will not have to use an addtional brightening serum at night. This foundation will give you a dewy look upon application. All in all if your up to it go to your local boutique and try it out your self to see if you like. I love it!

Hello: I've been a long time original formula foundation user but then switched to the ready foundation when that product came out. While I liked the ready foundation better because it was less messy so for me easier to use, I've always preferred a liquid foundation so you can imagine my excitement when I heard about bareSkin. I purchased the bareSkin when it came out and I can only tell you how much I love it. The results, I think, are way better than the powder. I'm able to control the amount and I think it goes on smoother and the skin feels amazing. The color also matches me better especially when season changes. Before this summer, I used a drop of linen plus a drop of natural (I was between colors), and now that I've had a little bit of sun, I use two drops of natural only. Hope this helps you! All I can say is, go and get a color match (Sephora does a good job) and give it a try.

I would suggest Bare Shell (02) or Bare Satin (06) because they are cool tones (Fairly Medium is a cool tone). You should check out the Foundation Shade Finder on the bareescentuals.com website (under the learn tab). You can see pictures of what the shades look like here.

I am 55 years old and have used your famous powder foundation, plus other products for several years now. However due to lots of sun damage the powder is really setting into my lines and wrinkles. I have been wishing for a liquid line from your company! Thank you. Haven't bought it yet. Over the past several years I have sadly developed large pores, and hormonal chin acne. I also have very yellow undertones to my olive skin
So I am curious as to what color to choose. Also I am not giving up on the regular bare mineral kit because I still love the products. I have been wearing medium, I am wondering if medium beige matte might be better for me. Now that I am not in the sun, my skin is a shade lighter. Also would appreciate advice advice on the cleanser and treatment for large pores. Thank you so very much! Gratefully, Claudette Granata :)

I believe Bareskin foundation is not meant to be used with a primer. Try with moisturizer only. Also, it could have the settling look due to the wrong shade. On me it looked dry on my cheeks but I switched shades and it looks great. Good luck!

Hello. I have very sensitive skin with dry patches especially around the chin area. I find that as long as I exfoliate, then apply moisturizer, primer (wait til it dries), and then buff in the BareSkin foundation, it blends in nicely without patches. I also prefer to build in the foundation, use a drop or 2, and add if needed because my entire face may not need the same amount. Perhaps an excess of the product might not get absorbed and just sits on the surface making it pasty?
