Q & A

bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4.2 5 381 382
Best Foundation I absolutely love this product! I didn't intend on switching from the powder foundation to the liquid because in the past I have had issues with liquid foundations. However, after one of the women at the store showed me this foundation I fell in love with it! It is smooth and blends evenly all over for a much more even skin tone. If you are considering this product I would highly suggest going into the store to make a more accurate color match. 11/17/2014
Love it Now! I am a loyal BE user since 1998 and love all things BE, but when I tried this foundation in the Spring I was underwhelmed and didn't love it for several reasons: 1) It does have a weird odor, but it passes quickly. 2) I didn't find the right color. 3) It looked mask like when applied. Well, I didn't give up. Now that I have found how to make it work, it's FABULOUS! What works for me... 1) I found the right color. Initially I tried the 07 Bare Natural thinking this would be a natural match for me (in the Original Foundation I use medium beige) but this color was just too yellow on my skin. I found that a 50/50 mix of the 03 Bare Linen with the 06 Bare Satin is a perfect match. 2) I put a moisturizer on, or use the Daily Recovery Concentrate first so my skin is slightly moist before application. 3) I prefer using my fingers to apply it. I use the brush to apply it quickly first, but using the warmth of my fingers really helps it to absorb fully and look flawless, not "mask like". Afterwards I dust mineral veil on and I'm good all day. It feels wonderful, looks great, makes my skin feel great, and is weightless. My skin texture does seem to be smoother and more even. The odor doesn't seem to be much of an issue now. I'm not sure if I am used to it or it is less now since I have different bottles than what I started with. There have been comments about the applicator which isn't perfect, but hasn't been a horrible issue for me. I have one bottle which seems to be a bit oozy, but the other one is not. The tip does get clogged now and then, but I just use a pin to poke through it. Regardless of the issues I had initially, I'm really glad I continued to work with it, because it's a super foundation! I don't see myself going back to the Original Foundation because I love this one so much. 11/17/2014
Not for all skin tones Worth learning how to master applying it. Goes on beautifully, gives that slight shine that using just the powder foundation alone takes away. But as a fair skinned beauty, I was disappointed that even the lightest shade available has a super obvious yellow tint to it. It's extremely unnatural on my English / Irish skin tone, and I hope they correct it soon. I noticed without an hour or two it seems to calm down, and dabbing the powder on helps. But if I wanted to reapply it at the end of a long day to go out in the evening, it's SUPER TAN. No good! 11/13/2014
Love it! I really love this foundation! It's the only liquid foundation that I've tried that didn't break me out. It has great coverage and with my dry skin, it's great for dry, cold, Montana winters. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's not quite the right color. I wear bare satin 06 in the summer. I bought bare shell 02 to try since my skin is lighter now that summer's over. But it was too light. So, I mix the two and it's the perfect color. I would love it if BE comes out with a color in between these 2 shades. Something similar to Fairly Medium in the Original Foundation. 11/13/2014
less is more when you shake it, the inside of the cap becomes messy with the foundation which is wasteful. if I use it everyday I get little breakouts. I only use one drop, but two drops is my max if im feeling heavy handed. anything over two drops just looks oily. less is more. with that being said, one drop gives great coverage for me. the product doesn't last all day but it lasts long enough. overall, the foundation is a B and the packaging is a C-. 11/13/2014
Favorite Liquid Foundation! I waited until I had used this product for awhile before I completed my review. This liquid is so light on my skin and makes my skin so beautiful! I prefer a medium to heavy coverage so I use about 4-5 drops and my first bottle lasted for months using it 3-4 times a week. I noticed several people were saying their bottles oozed. I saw this too...air would build up between the bottle opening and the product. I just tapped the bottom of the bottle on the counter top and viola!!!, problem solved. I know some people are still not going to fully enjoy this product but I have found that some of the formulas don't work well with the chemistry of my skin either..... The bottle has to be slightly hard to squeeze or you would spray the product everywhere. I just go by how the product sounds when I shake the bottle to know how empty or full the bottle is. This is the only liquid foundation I will be using for as long as they keep it around!!! 11/10/2014
Finally! As my skin changed over the years, the mineral powder did not offer the coverage I wanted; it looked pasty and not very flattering. I thought I would have to give up Bare Minerals altogether but along came bareSkin. I LOVE this product and it is perfect for my skin and complexion. That being said, there is one flaw with this product -- in the design of the bottle. An air bubble or something forms and product spouts out of the top. It doesn't matter how gently the bottle is shaken or how it is opened. I will continue to use but am hopeful the bottle designers will take a look at the current design and make improvements. 11/04/2014
Best Foundation Purchase Amazing results! Great coverage and my skin has improved. It does not irritate my skin. Will never buy another type of foundation again. Let it dry before applying bronzer and blush. 11/03/2014
Best foundation I really like this foundation, probably better than the original bare minerals foundation because it seems like it stays on better and lasts longer and gives a flawless finish. I do put on a light layer of B.E. minerals on top as a finishing layer. 11/02/2014
Good for light coverage, but package is a disaster I've been wearing this foundation since the spring and though I love the lightweight feel of it, it does not stay in place very well - even when set with mineral veil. My biggest complaint is about the package. After shaking the bottle well before opening, and applying the first of 4 drops, it sometimes randomly starts oozing product. This is a tremendous waste of product and I have not been able to figure out how to prevent this. The bottle also does not travel well and is prone to leaking inside the cap even when tightly sealed. I won't be purchasing this product again primarily due to bottle/dispenser issues that cause product waste. 10/28/2014

The next shade lighter than Bare Natural 07 (a Medium shade with neutral undertones) is Bare Linen 03 (a Light shade with neutral undertones). It doesn't have any red to it. You can warm it up with some bronzer if it is a bit too light.

I absolutely love this foundation, except for the bottle. :( I love that a little goes a long way, but when product randomly oozes out and down the side, wasting DAYS of foundation, it's hard to convince me to purchase again. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, as it seems random. I've tried shaking less, tried shaking more.... but it's just so frustrating to take off the lid and see foundation pouring down the side uncontrollably. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT.

I've tried shaking it then let it sit for about 30 seconds. It helps some, not as much comes out on it's own.

This foundation is a liquid so it wouldn't stay on the kabuki as well. The kabuki is very absorbent so it would soak up all of the liquid and be very wasteful, plus the application wouldn't work as well. Of course I'd suggest going into the nearest outlet you can find, get matched and ask all your questions there if possible.
Personally I have such a specific color that this is about the only foundation that really matches, and I use it so much I honestly think that its worth buying a new brush if you do choose to get some.

Get on the website and find our powder foundation...is it the palest for neutral, cool or warm tones? Then go find the same shade in the liquid for the same undertone.....like I'm fairly light in the loose powder and bare linen in the liquid....same shade and undertone just different formulas. Hope this helps!!!

it all depends on your undertones, if you have a moe pinker undertone then try to find something that is fair with pinks. Personally I am that weird in-between when i have slightly yellow, slightly pink undertones and i use the Bare Linen 03 and its incredible, in foundations i am a light. I hope that helps a little :)

I am 59 and need to find a new foundation that won't make my facial wrinkles so obvious. Up until now the only foundation I have found that blends into my face color is Pink 2 by Shishedo (sp?). I am very fair and have pink tones compliments of my red headed dad..lol
I have wasted so much money on liquids, powder foundation, mineral ones and I can no longer afford to waste money as I am disabled and on a fixed income.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
betty

I also have pink tones and fair skin. I would recommend Bare Shell 02. It's the lightest color for cool undertones.

Pick the shade that best matches you and then get the one for cool undertones. If you have a boutique or an Ulta or a sephora close to you, you can go in and try the different types of foundations on your problem areas and see which one you like the best. The different formulas work slightly differently in my opinion and your skin may prefer one over the other.

Please shake the bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation well for a perfect mix of ingredients. As for the very strong odor, this is not normal. We suggest to check with Ulta regarding their return policy. If they are not able to accommodate you, please call bareMinerals® Customer Care at 1-888-795-4747.

I am a true believer in Bare Minerals. I love this make-up! With that being said I have "complicated skin" its classified as oily, I have mild rosacea so my cheeks tend to be dryer than the rest of my face. I used to use the oil control primer. That didn't seem to work so I went back to the original primer. I just bought the BareSkin foundation got color matched at my local supplier and I bought the brush the whole nine yards. I love the way this foundation feels but accentuates my dry areas and doesn't help with looking seperated on my face after a day. I only use 2 to 3 drops for my whole face for the coverage. I don't know what I am doing wrong it is almost as if it is melting off my face. If i touch my face throughout the day it comes off. ( also I must add that I did get samples of this product before I bought it , it didn't do this with the samples, and i used a different BM brush then the one that they recommended you use with this product) Please HELP !! I hate to waste all this $$$!

I did see a lot of bad reviews from people with problem or sensitive skin. I also noticed the best reviews always mentioned using the BM brush which is why i decided it was necessary to purchase. I have always had a problem with BM smudging off easily. The Urban Decay setting spray works wonders for the bare minerals and maybe it will work for the foundation as well.

I've had my bareskin foundation for a couple of months now and have always shaken it before applying each drop. However, now when I shake it and twist off the cap it appears to be so liquidy that the foundation leaks down the side of the bottle and oozes quickly out the top instead of forming nice individual drops. Any suggestions on how/if this can be remedied? Thanks!

I don't know if someone already answered this question but yes, its going to be liquidy, but it helps with the application. I know i thought that it was weird that it was that oozy, but on the skin it sits incredibly.

Try not to over shake it and after you do hold it back up right before getting your drops so it can move back down the bottle.

Try taking the cap off and keeping your finger on the lid when shaking, then slowly tip the bottle until just a drop come out and be sure to shake very well. I find it is easier that way than to keep the lid on while shaking. A tiny amount always runs over the sides of the top, but I just swipe the brush over it to grab it all, and use that for a little extra coverage on a scar on my neck area.

At the moment I am using bare mineral powder foundation along with the mineral veil which is amazing for my oily skin and doesn't bring me out in spots!! I have tried lots of liquid foundations and they all bring me out In lots of spots but I think the coverage with liquid foundation is so much better than with powder! Do you recommend this for me? I would love to try it but it's a lot of money if It doesn't get along with my skin.

Definitely not. I have oily skin, and this liquid foundation is terrible! It enhances shine (the bad oily kind), and it sinks into pores making them really stand out. Right at first when I put it on, it looks flawless and great. Within 20 minutes it's smudgy, streaky, makes my skin look dry, and fills in my pores (that's the only place I get any "brightening")

I have oily skin, and I absolutely love this! I have acne scarring and some other spots. I just use concealer and then four drops of this (which gives me medium coverage) and my skin looks flawless! It doesn't do the normal liquid foundation, make-you-look-oily-by-noon-thing. I do finish with mineral veil and some days I will touch up after lunch, but that isn't really necessary every day. It usually just dries up the sweat from the walk to and from the car during my lunch hour!

I recommend this for everyone. The girl who did my make-under (where I first used this) also has oily skin and she has had a similar experience. It is definitely worth the investment, if you ask me. And then it only takes 4 drops, too, so this is going to last me FOREVER!

Just one tip: make sure you shake it up well before opening it, because the contents tend to separate if left sitting.
