Q & A

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by firefly liner I already own 5 of these liners, and have more on my wishlist. I LOVE them. I apply them dry for a subtle look, or wet for a greater effect. I often wiggle my applicator brush into the roots of my eyelashes. The result often has the look of the '20s or '40s, or can be "smoky". The downside is that the powder does fall off of the brush. I use two tricks. First, I always use an eye shadow primer. That keeps the powder on my eyelids. I also hold a shield under my eye, so that any powder falls onto the shield, and not my flawless foundation! 06/05/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this liner! I have these in TLC and Green Tea and they are pretty much my life right now. I use the double-ended liner shadow brush for these and I love the drama they bring to my eyes. I find them very easy to use and have great color when applied with a damp brush. Will be buying again. 03/10/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very gold and sparkly A teen color for sure....sparkly gold flecks ruin the pecan coloring of this eyeliner unless neon is what you are looking for. Personally I was very dissapointed...Now what do I do with this .... 01/15/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love This Eyeliner!!! I have been using Bare Minerals liner shadows for 15+ years. My favorite colors are Fashionista and Coffee Bean, though I have not seen Fashionista in a while. I love how well it stays put on my lash line, and I love that the color lasts all day. My only complaint is that if I don't use the sealer (which Bare Minerals no longer sells), it tends to flake off under my eyes. 10/15/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite liner! I absolutely love this liner! It does take a little bit longer to apply than other liners, but the time is definitely worth it- it stays in place all day! 08/28/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this eyeliner I started using this when I found out I had allergies to most make up. Please keep this around and do not change the ingredients because this is the only liner I have found I can use. I had never used powder liner before and didn't think I would like them but I LOVE IT! 07/01/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best ever!! I love this eyeliner. Makes doing my upper lids so easy. I've been wearing it for years!! Great value, it last for well over a year, and I wear it everyday. 04/15/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by SO AWESOME!!! This Eye liner is the BEST!!! I got it as part of a kit and, it is going to be my new eye liner as long as possible. I have had NO problems with it crumbling or flaking or anything, and all I do is add water. it stays put for 12 hours with no problems, and it's easy to remove!! God I love this eyeliner!!!! 04/04/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best liner ever. This is the best liner ever! I have used it for years and I do not want to use anything else. I do not like pencil liners and I went to get some more and found out this is being discontinued! Leave our liner alone! DO NOT DISCONTINUE! 02/20/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE, LOVE, LOVE I LOVE Brocade eyeliner shadow! You can't even purchase it in a BE store anymore. I was bummed so I picked a different liner shadow but was thrilled when I saw Brocade on the website!! YAY!! I bought it on the spot! It's a beautiful super dark navy shimmer shadow liner! 02/19/2015

Coffee Bean looks like it doesn't have glimmer in it but it looks very close to Bark color. I would like something a little more light brownish. Not sure if liners are finer in texture than shadows cause I could get a shadow to use as a liner I guess. Does anyone know?

Answer:
Tigers Eye is lighter than Bark, but has a lot of glimmer. Firefly is even lighter, but again, has a lot of glimmer. Coffee Bean does NOT have glimmer. I don't own Bark yet. As far as I can tell, the difference between the liners and the shadows is the ratio of pigment to carrier. If you put a touch of powder onto a brush, and wipe it across the back of your hand, and see a sheer color, then your powder does not have enough pigment to be used as a liner. I do use two "shadows" as liners.

Answer:
This had a little shine to it and was on the medium side of brown. It looks dark on the stick, but once I applied it, I was surprised at how lighter it actually was.

Besides colors, I was wondering if there was any difference between the two products when used as eyeliner (with water added). Obviously the colors are different, but with the regular eyeshadow products, you get 2X the amount for the same price as the liner shadows. Are the liner shadows longer lasting/less flaky? Or is there no true difference besides color and amount?

Answer:
BIG difference between liners and shadows. The liners have a much higher ratio of pigment to carrier. Most of the shadows are not sufficiently dense in pigment to work as liners.

Answer:
For me, the liner shadow flaked more and irritated my eyes and contacts. But, I am unusually sensitive and this is probably not a problem for most people. The round-the-clock liner has been the best for me in dealing with my eye sensitivities and in not running or flaking.

I also love Fashionista, and have had to go on Ebay to find it as BE no longer offers this color. At least, not that I have been able to find anywhere.

Answer:
Round the clock eyeliner is very similar. It has the same gel liner concept. Fashionista is in a pot as if it were a liquid liner, and round the clock is gel in a pencil. The closest you'd find in the reddish tone would be a purple or brown. Sadly there is no red tone in this liner :(

I love that these eyeliners last forever. And I can make a really thin tight line and then wing it out in a really precise cat eye. However, I find that after a while, the color from the eyeliner is transferring to my upper lid and outer corner of my eye. I have been applying this with a wet brush and still, it transfers. Any ideas? Primer? Can I use Prime Time on my eyes, too? Would that help? Do tell.

Answer:
You might try moisturizer at night, then primer, with powder on top. The eyeliners are more prone to transfer if they touch moist skin. By having powder as the top layer of your eyes, the surface will be dry. A good primer will retain the night's moisture.

Answer:
Primer could possibly work, but I would recommend putting powder over the liner :) mineral veil could work, as well as baby powder. This trick will allow the color to seal after it is dry so it doesn't transfer to the upper part of your lid! So once it is on, let your lid dry a bit then put some of the veil over it, since it is translucent, it shouldn't change the pigmentation of the liner, baby powder might a bit. give that a try :) it should work!

Answer:
If you are not already using eyelid primer, try it. If you are, make sure to get primer all the way down to your lash line. I had that problem initially. Or, you can try mixing liner with a smidgen of eyelid primer. That really works!

Answer:
This is something that you'll have to experiment with because it seems that not all solutions work for all people. Using an eyelid primer fixes the problem for my roommate, but not for me. If you can stand your eyeliner not being quite as dramatic of a line, putting a little eyeshadow over it will help, or using a mineral or touch-up veil will also help minimize the issue. I haven't found an all-day fix for myself yet, but doing that should at least help with the problem. Good luck!

Yes it is! I am a contact wearer as well, and I have yet to have a problem with it :) My eyes and skin are sensitive to certain products as well, and this has been good to me so far! No redness or sensitiveness to my contacts.

I wear contacts, too, and haven't had any problems! If you wet your eyeliner brush slightly before applying the liner shadow it will stay on a little better and not have as many "dusty" particles to get on your contact lenses.

It can be found in the degrees of dazzling shadow packet :)
but if you don't want to buy all 20 colors that come with it, which I would just recommend getting it cuz it is amazing! but if not, I'd try S ex Kitten ( it has a burgundy undertone, but with the shimmer) or Shantaug ( more of a matte finish with more of a maroon undertone)

I would try nobel :) it has the same shimmer and is close to the brown from nurture. It's not to dark, if you want darker though, try twig ( has the shimmer) or you can never be too rich (matte)
