Q & A

ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.6 5 131 131
Beautiful coverage I've tried tons of mineral, liquid, and cream foundations. This is BY FAR the BEST one out there. My skin cleared up after I switched over to bareMinerals. I'm so happy with the product and I'll never go back to another brand. As some of the other reviewers have said, one container lasts for about 6 months and I wear my makeup every single day. 10/08/2014
I don't use anything else This is the first foundation I used and I've always used and supported bareMinerals ever since I saw them on QVC. It lasts FOREVER, so you get your money's worth. You'll love it. 10/04/2014
Dedicated to the Foundation Broad Spectrum I have been using this foundation for about 5 years. I love it! I use it almost every day, and a little goes a long way, so one container typically lasts me 6 months to 1 year. I love this is stuff! It covers all my blemishes and gives me a radiant look. I get consistent compliments on my "radiant" skin whenever I wear it. I never buy a different foundation (with the exception when I want to wear a liquid one). It is THAT good that you won't need to make the change. I have combo skin, so my pores are larger on my nose especially, but this does the trick in hiding them perfectly. This product never breaks me out either! LOVE LOVE LOVE BM's signature item. Dedicated for five years, and going to keep on buying! 10/03/2014
My everyday foundation for years I have VERY fair, acne prone, combination skin and the original foundation in fair has been my go-to foundation for years. I prefer medium coverage and natural finishes. This foundation finishes as "your skin but better", not too shiny and not too matte. The other thing about this foundation that I love and have not found elsewhere is the way it wears. I won't say it lasts all day without touch ups, because it definitely doesn't, BUT it wears off in a natural, minimal-shine way. Meaning that 12 hours into my shift after no touch-ups when I look in the mirror, I definitely can tell the makeup as worn off but I'm not shiny and I don't have weird makeup blotchiness like I sometimes find with other foundations. Lastly, the fair shade actually matches my very very fair, pink-toned skin! Such a difficult thing to find. 09/01/2014
Too Legit to Quit I love this product. Like I said in another review I've been using BM/BE Original for years. I've switched from Sephora, Mac, Loreal, Lancome all kinds of products and across the board, the pricey Macy's brands, don't really stand up to this one for me. Im 22 and I have normal skin, that gets exposed to the sun often from playing soccer. I've always been told I have beautiful skin even without this product but I swear the Original SPF foundation in Warm Deep, maximizes my faces potential. I've even landed a couple of modeling jobs when my major is business administration lol. I am a legal assistant and I see tons of people a day. But I ALWAYS get told while wearing this that i'm glowing, my face looks healthier by the day, I look younger etc.. One of these other companies would have to put a million in my goodie bag to get me to switch hands down. And I mean that. 08/29/2014
Pricy for the size Am I the only one who noticed that they changed the sizes of their makeup? It is SO much money for a downsized version of my favorite products. I use to love BM because of the size I got for the money. I've switched to a new foundation from a different company due to the money I was paying for BM products, which I can't believe. Please either change prices or please go back to the original sizes. 08/27/2014
Worst container design ever I love this product and was happy when the new design came out so that I'd be able to get to all the foundation instead of being forced to throw some away. Unfortunately, the bottom fell out of my most recent purchase. It's a great product but it does me no good when half of it is spilled on the floor. 08/11/2014
If you have dry skin, please read I personally have very, very dry skin around my chin, sides of nose, and cheeks, yet very oily skin on my t-zone. This foundation seemed to really accentuate my dry spots the first time I used it. I applied the mineral veil beneath this foundation (it is supposed to help newbies not have so much itching) and just a bit of mineral veil on top. After some experimenting, I found that the mineral veil was a huge no-no for my dry skin, as it made areas that weren't all that dry look terribly dry. The application of this foundation (the buffing) is allegedly not good for dry skin as it is a form of micro exfoliation (and we dry skinned people know how exfoliation can be an enemy). You can use puffs to press this powder on, but I just really love buffing and have been trying to work around the dry skin issue because truly this foundation is amazing and makes my face look so even and smooth when I fist put it on. I really recommend dry skinned people to be aware that you may have issues with this foundation, and it may help to use a spray setter (a product you spray on after applying your makeup) and it helps set the bare minerals and reduce the appearance of dry patches. You must moisturize and use primer, or you will not have a good experience with this foundation. I will continue to try and make this foundation work for me because I love it so much and know it is not harming my skin like some foundations that are less natural. 07/10/2014
The original that I will never live without When pushing 40 I started thinking, you know what, I need to try something new for my face. I wasn't liking the way my skin looked dull and settled into my fine lines with other foundation products I'd been using. So after getting a little sample of this Original Bare Minerals Foundation product with a teeny tiny little brush as a free sample at a beauty store I thought, hmm, interesting, I've never tried a mineral make up before. So I went online looking for tutorial videos, learned more about the product and how to apply it and gave it a try. OMG I'm soooo glad I got that free sample because I fell in love with product from day one. I have gotten so many compliments since switching to Bare Minerals. My skin looks , I don't know, just healthier and prettier, and dare I even say. . . Younger! I love this foundation. I like a natural looking sheer-medium type coverage and this mineral foundation goes on so lovely, I love the finish, love the way it looks so natural, not cakey, not drawing attention to my fine lines by settling into them like most powder make ups do. I recommend Bare Minerals to everyone and have convinced others to switch because they saw the difference in how my skin was now looking better without me even mentioning I was trying something new. After receiving compliments and explaining what I was using that was new, other people close to me have started using the BM line too now. An additional bonus, my husband has always been complimentary but I have caught him just staring at my face more lately and saying things like, your skin looks so pretty, are you wearing any make up? It looks that natural and radiant that people can't really tell that it's make up that's making my skin look better and I love that because I am all about a natural look. 07/06/2014
Amazing I have very sensitive, dry, and acne prone skin. I have been looking for years for a product that would not only cover my imperfections but not cause more. This is perfect! I have not had any breakouts since using this and it does not dry out my face like I thought it would. I can't even tell I'm wearing makeup it feels so nice. I will be using bareminerals products exclusively from now on. 06/24/2014

I find it hard to get all of the product out of the container with the sifter cover. With the old cover, you could remove it to get the rest of the product out. Is there a way to remove the sifter portion of the container?

I have this foundation in Fairly Light, but even in the winter found it a little too pink for my skin. Now that I have a bit of a tan, I'd like to buy another foundation but don't know which color would be best. What color would you recommend?

You can mix in a tiny bit of an All Over Face color to help make the Fairly Light a little darker. Warmth is a great color, but there is also a color called a Touch of Sun. Warmth is darker and the Touch of Sun is more subtle. In the winter, you can mix in some of the Light foundation to make it work for you. The great thing about mixing is that it makes your regular foundation last longer. Good luck!

Hi there, i have always used the medium beige shade as was recommended to me by the beautician selling your products a few years ago. Only I have noticed this winter it seems too dark with a slightly orange tint. Which shade is the best one to be one step lighter? I noticed the others have pink undertones but the one i have been using is neutral, would medium be ok in this case?

Medium is the pinkest color of all. if you want to stay neutral go with Fairly Light, and mix them.

I use medium beige in the summer when I have a tan and then fairly light in the winter when I am pale. They both have the same undertones, so they match my skin.

Use warmth or even faux tan as a contour :) just follow the outside of your face in a 3, so start on the forehead ( by your hairline) then sweep down to your cheek bone. Go from the top part of your ear inwards toward your nose, this is your natural cheek bone. then sweep from the hair line towards the jaw. this product will give you a natural contour so it doesn't look too over done and blends in with the foundation. If you want more dramatic just use more of the warmth or faux tan. You can also use a bronzer to make it more dramatic.

One of the main reasons I switched to Bare Minerals is due to that when the warmer weather started I dreaded my makeup melting off. With Bare Minerals my skin can breathe! Melt off or major just overall fade isn't a major issue in my life anymore.

On the website it is still called Medium Beige (the number is just not shown, but it IS the same product). So just make sure that you are where the ORIGINAL line is shown, not MATTE.

Hope this helps!

I am not sure which one she was using, but if I had to guess I would say that she was either using ORIGINAL Golden Medium or its sister shade, ORIGINAL Medium Beige. You would have to look at the shades online or in stores to figure out which one matches better.

Hope this helps!

I think that the Bare Mineral foundation in medium tan would be your best bet. It is pretty much the same color of the MAC foundation, and will match your skin tone very well.
