ORIGINAL Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.7 5 183 184
luscious and smooth I have waited to use bare Minerals for a while and the waitng was worth it. I used the foundation along with a sample of the primer and veil and the foundation just glides on. It looks like I don't have anything on my face at all. I was hot and sweaty and my face stayed smooth. I love this product. 07/30/2015
Amazing and natural I rarely do make up but I became a fan already. This is super natural and gets even better in terms of coverage through the day. Also good for my acne. Other products made it worse but this did't. I loved it. 07/29/2015
gorgeous natural finish makes my skin look perfect and radiant, lasted for several hours 07/28/2015
This foundation is a godsend I've been using this foundation ever since they added the Fair shade. Nearly two decades, I belive. I'm very fair, and the shade Fair is as dark as I can go without looking ridiculous. I really wish BareEscentuals would add a Very Fair or Porcelain shade, at the very least. Other than that, this has been an absolute godsend. From my early teens to my early-40's I had super oily skin. On top of that, I'm very fair, with neutral undertones. I have many allergies to fragrances and ingredients, and sensitive skin. Finding a foundation was a nightmare. It was impossible to get the right color, with the right undertones, that wouldn't oxidize or melt off (esp. in the days before primer existed). I had given up till I heard about this foundation. This doesn't bother my skin, doesn't make me break out, doesn't melt off in hot weather or from oily skin, doesn't oxidize, doesn't feel heavy. It DOES look natural, feel weightless, control oil and shine (especially when paired with the Mineral Veil), cover blemishes and imperfects. It has very buildable coverage. Now that I'm in my mid-40s, my skin is still oily, but not as bad. Hormones frequently make it break out or have weeks where my skin is more combination. This foundation is very adaptable to whatever condition my skin is in. It's my HG foundation and my beauty savior. I cannot say enough good things about it. Note: It does contain Bismuth Oxychloride. I'm not sensitive to it (surprisingly), but a small percentage of people are. If you are, try the Matte version. 07/28/2015
Love this! This foundation has worked amazing. It gives the flawless skin look with minimal effort. I have repurchased this item about six times. It doesn't clog my pores and it doesn't look caked on when applied, like some other foundations I have tried. 07/22/2015
One of my favorite foundations I have combination dry skin and it's very difficult finding a foundation that doesn't cling to dry patches. This foundation has so many shades so there's a match for everyone and it is so buildable that sometimes I use it as a concealer because it doesn't show the dry patches like a liquid concealer does. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you need heavier coverage than this offers (light to medium coverage with the initial application), you should use a finishing spray so that your face doesn't look powdery. However, this is honestly one of the best foundations for so many types of skin. 07/17/2015
Simply the best, better than all the rest. I started using BM foundation about 3 months ago after a couple of friends swearing by it while I was constantly buying very expensive foundations and never loving any of them. I started out using way too much and I can tell you exactly why: this stuff is undetectable on the skin, its amazing really it honestly looks like my skin is perfect but it far from it and I'm 38 years old. I was putting on too much and it caked in my pores and lines but after I started just doing two complete buffed layers it is flawless. I tried the matte too and I do not dislike it but I love the glow of the original. My skin is also so much better from getting away from the chemicals in the other brands. I have since switched all my makeup and skincare to BM and I'm here to stay, I will not be testing other brands. I look back at pics of myself and if I didn't know any better I would swear I did not have any makeup on, I love it so much. 07/16/2015
Always come back to it I can't even remember when I first started using this foundation, but I know that I always come back to it. I used the Ready foundation for awhile, then came back to this. Depending on the brush I use, I can make it to be light coverage and even a pretty full coverage. Whenever I get compliments on my makeup, I'm using this. Love this stuff and I'll continue using this for a long time. 07/07/2015
Great product! I love the powder foundation so far! Depending on your skin type it is necessary to choose from the original and matte formula. I have found that the Matte works better for my skin type. Overall this is a great product and I am very happy with it! 07/06/2015
Perfect everytime I began using this foundation in my twenties, now in my late thirties this foundation remains the only one I've used. It gives my skin a natural yet perfect look. I can buff it on quickly when I have to get out the door or I can take my time, contouring with different shades to be photo ready. I've never had any issue with this foundation, it performs for me each and every time. 07/05/2015

I have extremely dry skin and put my moisturizer on about 15 to 30 min prior to my foundation. I seem to get cakey spots on my face. I noticed that even with out using moisturizer I get the spots, just not as bad. I thought it was because it's a powder, but I had the same issue when using a liquid foundation from cover girl. That was why I switched to bare minerals. What can I do.
P.S. I ordered your bareskin several days ago in hopes that it would be better for me.

With the the foundation that you just ordered make sure you are swirling it on to your face and it the cap because before you may have been layering your skin which would give it a cakey look. Trust me you will love bare minerals. I have been using it for 7 months now and i love it

original is slightly luminous. it has somewhat of a shimmer. some notice, some don't, but the matte is just that. no shimmer, and seems to absorb more oil without going shiny

A:
Original has a natural luminous finish that will enhance those with combo/dry or dry skin types. The matte helps to absorb excess oil, and leave a matte finish instead of a luminous one on the skin. The best way for you to decide is to first consider your skin type. Then visit a boutique, Sephora, or Ulta and allow them to put you in the foundation that best suits your skin needs.

I really want to love this and sometimes it looks good but often it looks heavy in places and very shiny esp on my nose. Or at times I see all of the pores on my nose. What am I doing wrong?

There are a number of questions I need to ask you before I can help give you the advice you seek. Of course, the best answer is for you to visit a boutique and have a BM makeup artist work with you to perfect the look you want. Here are the questions I would ask you. 1. What is your skin care routine and are you consistently doing it? 2. What is your skin type and are you using the right products for it? 3. Have you tried the Prime Time primer underneath the foundation? 4. What brushes are you using to create your look?

You're not putting the mineral veil on all over your face or either you don't brush around the foundation evenly

It depends. Do you want additional coverage or just a setting powder? If additional coverage is wanted you can use the mineral foundation on top of your liquid. If you just want a light setting powder than Mineral Veil is perfect!

I find it hard to get all of the product out of the container with the sifter cover. With the old cover, you could remove it to get the rest of the product out. Is there a way to remove the sifter portion of the container?

Yes you can. I used a butter knife to pry the edges up or you could use your nails.

I have used a needle nose pliers to remove the sifter cover. You can grab the cover from the edges or put it in the sifter holes. It sometimes tears the cover a little so it will come out in pieces. It is difficult to do, but not impossible. Good luck and watch out so you don't spill the product in the process!

I have this foundation in Fairly Light, but even in the winter found it a little too pink for my skin. Now that I have a bit of a tan, I'd like to buy another foundation but don't know which color would be best. What color would you recommend?

A:
You can mix in a tiny bit of an All Over Face color to help make the Fairly Light a little darker. Warmth is a great color, but there is also a color called a Touch of Sun. Warmth is darker and the Touch of Sun is more subtle. In the winter, you can mix in some of the Light foundation to make it work for you. The great thing about mixing is that it makes your regular foundation last longer. Good luck!

Hi there, i have always used the medium beige shade as was recommended to me by the beautician selling your products a few years ago. Only I have noticed this winter it seems too dark with a slightly orange tint. Which shade is the best one to be one step lighter? I noticed the others have pink undertones but the one i have been using is neutral, would medium be ok in this case?

Medium is the pinkest color of all. if you want to stay neutral go with Fairly Light, and mix them.

I use medium beige in the summer when I have a tan and then fairly light in the winter when I am pale. They both have the same undertones, so they match my skin.

Use warmth or even faux tan as a contour :) just follow the outside of your face in a 3, so start on the forehead ( by your hairline) then sweep down to your cheek bone. Go from the top part of your ear inwards toward your nose, this is your natural cheek bone. then sweep from the hair line towards the jaw. this product will give you a natural contour so it doesn't look too over done and blends in with the foundation. If you want more dramatic just use more of the warmth or faux tan. You can also use a bronzer to make it more dramatic.
